Second coming of Christ

 AATHAVAN 🖋️ 662 ⛪ November 20, 2022 Sunday

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." (  2 Peter 3 : 8 )

The apostle Peter says the above verse when talking about the second coming of Christ. This verse contains the most important scientific law of 'time and space'.

Time and space are interrelated. Time works based on where we are. The day and year we calculate on our earth are based on the Sun. That is, we count one year as the Earth goes around the Sun once. Our age also changes accordingly. But when we change the place we are in, the reckoning of time also changes.

Albert Einstein's theory states that time and space are bound together. Einstein added that our universe has a speed limit: nothing can travel faster than the speed of light (186,000 miles per second). What happens if we travel like that? For example, if one person travels in space for a year at the speed of light and returns after a year, his age will be only one year more. But by the time he returns like that, more than a thousand years will have passed on earth. The people lived in this earth when he began his journey, would have perished and many generations passed on the earth.

This is God's calculation and humans our calculations. God had revealed this truth to Peter as a prophecy.

Many people asked various questions about the second coming of Jesus Christ. Peter puts it this way: "And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." ( 2 Peter 3 : 4 )

Through these verses Peter answers people who have questioned him with God's chronology on the one hand, and God's patience on the other. That is, with the idea that no one should perish, so God delays His coming. "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." ( 2 Peter 3 : 9 )

Beloved, this proven scientific verse mentioned by Peter is a testimony that the second coming of Christ is true.

Christ can come and meet us in our time or we can die and stand before him. Anyway, we have to face Him. So we should be ready to meet him. Let's think our life standards and improve our lives. Are we worthy to meet Christ?
