Fat Accumulation

"For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." ( Matthew 13 : 15 )

Excessive accumulation of fat in the human body can cause various diseases. Fat is a major cause for heart related diseases in particular. Here Jesus Christ is talking about spiritual fat accumulation. He says that people who hear and do not understand spiritual things have fat in their hearts.

Just as fat clogs the blood flow, spiritual fat clogs the hearts of men from knowing God's truths. Today's verse spoken by Jesus Christ was quoted from the words of Isaiah. (Isaiah 6:10)

The reasons for fat accumulation in the body are the diet we eat and lack of proper physical activity. Similarly, what we do in this world that spoils our spiritual life is what is meant by eating unnecessary food. To live without involvement in spiritual things is referred to live without physical labor. This causes fat to accumulate in our heart and soul.

Jesus Christ tells us in today's verse what kind of damage this accumulation of fat causes. That is, adding fat to the soul causes the heart to become fat so that the eyes cannot see, the ears cannot hear, the heart does not feel and repent, and God could not make us healthy.

The effect of this is to listen dully with our ears and close our eyes. That is, it makes us ignorant of higher spiritual truths and unable to live a spiritual life.

Beloved, it is necessary for us to get rid of this fat that fattens our heart and causes spiritual disease. There are bypass and angioplasty surgeries to remove body fat. Those treatments cost a lot of money. But the Lord Jesus Christ removes this fat freely.

Redemption by the blood of Jesus Christ is the treatment. it is free. it makes us a new man. The fat of the soul will be removed and our eyes will be opened to see His glory and our ears to hear His voice to walk in right path. Yes, the experience of redemption will remove our soul fat.

But it is necessary that, afterwards we continue to live a controlled life in food as we live a life after a physical surgery. If we live like that, our eyes and ears will become more pure and the fat heart will turn into a lean heart into which God will reside and make it a temple. 

For this, we must first realize that there is fat in our hearts; We should have the willingness to let it go, and we have to willingly come forward to the treatment. Only then we can be healed. Beloved, let the Lord Jesus Christ do a free bypass, angioplasty in our fatty heart. Let us be renewed in spiritual clarity.
