Judgement

"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." ( John 7 : 24 )

Judging by appearance refers to looking at a person's position, his social status, his money, clothes and making a favorable judgment to him. Most of the judgments in our country today are like this. People's esteem and respect for the courts is diminishing nowadays because, as we said above, judges judge by appearance.

I saw a sarcastic news post about this recently. It is mentioned that, "In the past, it was known whether the accused was good or bad after the verdict. But now it is only after the verdict that we know whether the judge is good or bad".

As humans we do not know exactly what is true and what is fair. We judge someone by what our eyes saw. But God alone will know the truth. He does not judge someone based on their actions. He also sees the purpose of the act. That is why Isaiah says, "he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth." ( Isaiah 11 : 3,4 )

Jesus Christ said, "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged". ( Luke 6 : 37 ) We do not know the real situation of others. What they did may seem wrong in our view. But God does not see as people see things. That's why he says don't judge others.

Dear friends, if you reading this may probably be  a judge or a lawyer or in judicial related positions,  then you need to be more careful in this matter. Because God says through Isaiah,

"Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless! ( Isaiah 10 : 1, 2 )

The word "woe" in this verse refers to God's curse. Let's be careful. Let's not judge according to appearance, but do judge according to justice. We should not mobilize money and curse for our descendants by writing unjust judgments.

Also, we have to interact and mingle with many kinds of people in our daily life. Sometimes we may feel the actions of some people are wrong. But, don't judge them as criminals for that. That is why the apostle Paul says, "Let us not therefore judge one another any more." ( Romans 14 : 13 )
