AATHAVAN MEDITATION
No.: 2068 | Date: 07.10.2026
"For the LORD has called you, like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even like a wife of one's youth when she is rejected," says your God. (Isaiah 54:6)
The lack of suitable employment opportunities, resulting financial scarcity, and the subsequent alienation by family members and society—this is the reality of many people's lives. Yes, beloved ones, everyone tends to isolate such individuals. The underlying reason for this rejection is often the fear that if they converse with them, they might ask for financial assistance.
Furthermore, some people socialize based on social status. A person's attire and impoverished appearance are perceived by many as lowering their own status, leading them to shun such individuals.
How deeply painful it must be for these people to experience such rejection! Today's meditation verse states that this inner anguish is like the sorrow of a woman forsaken and broken-hearted by her husband, or a wife rejected in her youth. However, even if family and society forsake them, God does not abandon such people.
Did we not read in the Scriptures,
"For He will deliver the needy when he cries for help, The afflicted also, and him who has no helper. He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And the lives of the needy He will save." (Psalm 72:12-13)
Yes, beloved ones, this is why God declares to such abandoned people:
“Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married” (Isaiah 62: 4)
"Hephzibah" means "My delight is in her," and "Beulah" means "Married." In other words, even if you are forsaken and rejected by everyone, the Lord God says, "I delight in you with great joy." Others may shun you or hesitate to speak with you, but I accept you with gladness. Moreover, you are no longer like a woman rejected and forsaken by her husband; you are married. The Lord God declares, "I Myself have taken you as My own."
Beloved ones, these are not empty words. We have a precedent for this. King David experienced this very divine reality in his life. Therefore, he boldly proclaims:
"For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from him; But when he cried to Him for help, He heard." (Psalm 22:24)
Look to God with faith. He will transform a life that feels like a broken-hearted woman or a wife rejected in her youth. For this very purpose, the Lord speaks to you today through this message: He has called you as your God.
