🦋 Meditation verse - 2 கொரிந்தியர் 4 : 3 / 2 Corinthians 4:3

AATHAVAN MEDITATION

No. 2091 – Date: 30.10.2026

“But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.” (2 Corinthians 4:3, NASB)

The apostle Paul proclaimed to the people the Gospel that God had revealed to him. He wrote in his epistles only the things that God had made known to him. However, many people could not accept his Gospel, and many failed to understand it. Those who could not understand Paul’s writings distorted them according to their own human reasoning, thereby preventing people from knowing the truth.

For this very reason, when speaking about Paul’s writings, the apostle Peter says:

“...in which are some things that are hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.” (2 Peter 3:16, NASB)

The apostle Paul explains why this happens:

“...the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they will not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:4, NASB)

In other words, Satan, the ruler of this world, has blinded the eyes of people’s hearts so that they cannot know the truth. Consequently, the Gospel remains a mystery to them, and they fail to understand it.

Yes, dear beloved ones, the truths of the Gospel remain veiled to those who are perishing. The reason is that people are generally unwilling to change their natural disposition or to understand the spiritual truths of God. Paul explains this as follows:

“But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:14, NASB)

We need the help of the Spirit of God to understand the things of God. The human spirit alone cannot comprehend spiritual truths. Indeed, Paul says:

“For who among people knows the thoughts of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also the thoughts of God no one knows, except the Spirit of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:11, NASB)

Therefore, dear beloved ones, we must first develop a genuine desire to understand the truths of the Gospel. Instead of giving priority to our own human thoughts and desires, we must allow the Spirit of God to enlighten us and help us understand the truth.

If the Gospel of Christ remains veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. But for those who sincerely desire to know the truth, the Gospel need never remain a mystery.
