🦋 Meditation verse - வெளி. 20 : 15 / Revelation 20:15

AATHAVAN MEDITATION

No: 2079 — Date: 18.10.2026

"And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." — Revelation 20:15 (NASB)

Even while calling themselves Christians, many believers possess different mindsets, thoughts, and reasoning. That is, they accept certain biblical truths that suit them or benefit their earthly lives, yet they reject many higher spiritual truths that must be viewed with eyes of faith.

They believe that Jesus blesses, heals diseases, and grants what is asked; they pray for these things. But they fail to fully accept higher spiritual truths such as judgment, heaven, eternal life, and the resurrection of the dead. They easily shrug it off by saying, "Who has seen all these? We will only know the truth after we die," staying indifferent without showing any desire to know these things. Some even claim these are teachings of secret/sectarian churches.

Once, when I spoke to a Christian about the Book of Life, he laughed. Mind you, he was considered a very pious man. He told me, "Geo, I thought you were someone with some understanding, but are you really believing in all this?"

However, the Bible speaks clearly and explicitly:

"And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds." — Revelation 20:12 (NASB)

Our Lord Jesus Christ also said: "Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven." — Luke 10:20 (NASB) But, such Christians, though they believe in Jesus Christ, do not believe what He says.

Many saints were also aware of the Book of Life. When Moses pleaded with God for the forgiveness of Israel's sins, we read how he prayed:

"But now, if You will forgive their sin—and if not, please wipe me out from Your book which You have written!" — Exodus 32:32 (NASB)

In other words, Moses prayed: "Even if You erase my name from the Book of Life, forgive their sins in exchange."

The Apostle Paul states that the names of those who laboured with him in the gospel ministry are written in the Book of Life:

"Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement as well and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life." — Philippians 4:3 (NASB)

It is essential that we believe and accept all the truths of the Bible. If we accept only what is convenient for us or understandable to our human intellect while casting aside other spiritual truths, we may end up being thrown into the lake of fire at the final judgment. Let us be cautious. Let us strive to ensure our names are written in the Book of Life.
