Meditation verse - ஏசாயா 43 : 12 / Isaiah 43:12

AATHAVAN MEDITATION

No.: 2066 — Date: 05.10.2026

"It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed, And there was no strange god among you; So you are My witnesses," declares the Lord, "And I am God." (Isaiah 43:12, NASB)

While there are various religions in the world today, Christianity is the only one that teaches about sin, the forgiveness of sins, and a holy life. All the people of the world generally pray to God only for their worldly needs. However, Christianity does not instruct us to pray solely for such earthly desires. Christians who do not truly know Christ might pray in that manner, but that is not the standard.

The God who created and rules over us is holy. We too must be transformed to be holy like Him. This is the goal of life that Christianity points toward. "You shall be holy, for I am holy" (cf. Leviticus 11:44-45; 1 Peter 1:16) is the exalted word of the Lord. Man can only enter into the life hereafter if he is free from the defilement of sin. Christianity guides us so that we may change into such holy beings and attain eternal life.

However, today this foundational Christian truth is being obscured by third-rate, greed-driven ministry workers, creating a situation where others cannot recognize the true excellence of Christianity. No foreign or strange god in this world has the authority to forgive human sins. That authority belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ alone. This is why today's verse states, "And there was no strange god among you." It is the duty of Christians who know the truth to proclaim this, guide nominal Christians who do not know the truth, and lead others onto the right path.

"But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins..." (Matthew 9:6 and Mark 2:10, NASB)

Jesus Christ stated this very clearly. The reason is that He, as the holy Creator, is the only One who can forgive the sins of created mankind and transform them into holy people.

Today, people of other religions pray to other deities and claim that they have received various blessings. That may be true; they may have received worldly blessings. Yet, not one of them can boldly declare, "The deity I worship has given me the experience of salvation and freedom from sin," nor has anyone ever truly received such forgiveness through them.

We are called to live a life of testimony. This is precisely what today's verse speaks of: "So you are My witnesses," declares the Lord, "And I am God." The experience of salvation is what helps us live such a life. Christ provides not only the forgiveness of our sins but also the ongoing power to overcome sin and live victoriously.

Yet today, some have reduced Christianity to resemble average worldly religions—worshiping God merely for earthly blessings, recounting those material gains as their testimonies, and turning themselves into Christians without Christ.

"After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard, God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will. How will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?" (Hebrews 2:3-4, NASB)

The question raised here should rightly cause us to tremble.

This very experience of the forgiveness of sins is the proof that Christ is the true God. Only when we receive this can we truly live as His witnesses, affirming that Christ is God. We can attain this experience when we confess our sins to Christ and sincerely pray to be washed by His holy blood.
