அரண் / FORTRESS

'ஆதவன்' வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,033,              நவம்பர் 26, 2023 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை

"கர்த்தரின் நாமம் பலத்த துருகம்; நீதிமான் அதற்குள் ஓடிச் சுகமாயிருப்பான். ஐசுவரியவானுடைய பொருள் அவனுக்கு அரணான பட்டணம்; அது அவன் எண்ணத்தில் உயர்ந்த மதில்போலிருக்கும்." ( நீதிமொழிகள் 18 : 10, 11 )

பழைய காலத்து மன்னர்களது அரண்மனைகளை நாம் பார்வையிடும்போது நம்மைக் கவருவது அவர்கள் தங்கள் அரண்மனையினைப் பாதுகாக்கச் செய்துள்ள மதில்சுவர்கள். அதனையே இன்றைய வசனம் துருக்கம் என்று கூறுகின்றது. தமிழ் அகராதியில் துருக்கம் எனும் சொல்லுக்கு செல்லுதற்கு அரிய இடம்,  ஒடுக்க வழி, மலையரண்,  மதில் என்று பல அர்த்தங்கள் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளன. அதாவது பாதுகாப்பான இடம் என்று சொல்லலாம்.  

நமது கர்த்தரின் பெயரானது பலத்த துருகம்; நீதிமான் அதற்குள் ஓடிச் சுகமாயிருப்பான் என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. "எல்லாத் துரைத்தனத்துக்கும், அதிகாரத்துக்கும், வல்லமைக்கும், கர்த்தத்துவத்துக்கும், இம்மையில் மாத்திரமல்ல மறுமையிலும் பேர்பெற்றிருக்கும் எல்லா நாமத்துக்கும் மேலாய் அவர் உயர்ந்திருக்கத்தக்கதாக," ( எபேசியர் 1 : 20 ) மேலான பெயரை பிதாவாகிய தேவன் அவருக்குக் கொடுத்துள்ளார். எனவே நீதியான வாழ்க்கை வாழ்ந்து அவரை அண்டிக்கொள்ளும்போது நமக்கு அவர் மேலான அரணாக இருந்து பாதுகாப்பார். 

இதனையே தாவீது, "கர்த்தர் என் கன்மலையும், என் கோட்டையும், என் இரட்சகரும், என் தேவனும், நான் அடைக்கலம் புகும் என் துருகமும், என் கேடகமும், என் இரட்சணியக் கொம்பும், என் உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலமுமாயிருக்கிறார்." ( சங்கீதம் 18 : 2 ) என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

ஆனால், இன்றைய வசனத்தில் தொடர்ந்து கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது, "ஐசுவரியவானுடைய பொருள் அவனுக்கு அரணான பட்டணம்; அது அவன் எண்ணத்தில் உயர்ந்த மதில்போலிருக்கும்." அதாவது, பொருள் செல்வத்தை மட்டுமே பெரிதாக எண்ணி அதனைச் சேகரிக்கும் செல்வந்தனுக்கு அவன் சேர்த்த பொருள் செல்வமே அவனுக்குப் பாதுகாப்பான நகரம் போலவும் உயர்ந்த மதில்போலவும்  இருக்கும் என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதாவது அவனது எண்ணத்தில்தான் அது உயர்ந்த பாதுகாப்பு  அரணான நகரம் போல இருக்கும்; உண்மையில் அப்படியல்ல. அவன் அப்படி எண்ணிக்கொள்கின்றான் அவ்வளவுதான்.

எனவேதான் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறினார், "ஒருவனுக்கு எவ்வளவு திரளான ஆஸ்தி இருந்தாலும் அது அவனுக்கு ஜீவன் அல்ல " ( லுூக்கா 12 : 15 ) என்று. ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, கோடிக்கணக்கான செல்வங்களைச்  சேர்த்துவைத்துக்கொண்டு கிறிஸ்து இல்லாத வாழ்க்கை வாழும்போது அது நமக்குப் பாதுகாப்பல்ல. அதிக செல்வம் அவன் எண்ணத்தில் உயர்ந்த மதில்போலிருக்கும். ஆனால் அந்த மதில் உண்மையில் எவ்வளவு வலிமையானது என்பது அவனுக்குத் தெரியாது. 

மண்சுவரால் கட்டப்பட்ட மதிலுக்கும் இரும்பு வெண்கலம் போன்ற உலோகங்களால் உறுதியாகக் கட்டப்பட்ட மதிலுக்கும் வித்தியாசம் உண்டல்லவா? கர்த்தரது பெயரால் கட்டப்படும் பாதுகாப்பு அரண்  இரும்பு வெண்கலம் போன்ற உலோகங்களால் உருவாக்கப்படுவது போன்றது. உலக செல்வங்களைப் பெருக்கி உருவாக்கிடும் பாதுகாப்பு வேலி மண்சுவர் போன்றது.  ஆம்,  "கர்த்தரின் நாமம் பலத்த துருகம்; நீதிமான் அதற்குள் ஓடிச் சுகமாயிருப்பான்" என்று கூறியுள்ளபடி அவரது நாமமான கோட்டைக்குள் தங்கி சுகமாய் வாழ முயலுவோம்.

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as a high wall in his own conceit." (Proverbs 18: 10, 11)

What fascinates us when we visit the palaces of the old kings are the walls, they have built to protect their palaces. That is what today's verse says as a strong tower. In Tamil Language, the word “thurukam” is used for tower. We see many words to explain this word in Tamil dictionary such as, a rare place to go, a narrow path, a mountain, a wall. It also means a safe place.

The name of our Lord is strong; It is said that the righteous will run into it and be healed. God the Father has given him the name

"That he may be exalted above all authority, power, might, mastery, and every name that is known not only in this world but also in the world to come".  So, when we live a righteous life and cling to Him, He will protect us as a strong wall.

This is what David said, "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower." (Psalms 18: 2)

But today's verse goes on to say, The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. That is, the rich man who thinks only material wealth and collects it will be like a safe city and a high wall for him. That is, in his mind it will be like a city with a high wall of defence; Not really. That's all he thinks.

That's why Jesus Christ said, "for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth." (Luke 12: 15) Yes beloved, it is no security for us when we live a Christless life while hoarding millions of riches. Much wealth may be like a high wall in his mind. But he didn't know how strong that wall really was.

Isn't there a difference between a wall built of mud and a wall firmly built of metals like iron and bronze? A defense built in the name of the Lord is like a bulwark made of metals like iron and bronze. The protective fence that builds up the world's wealth is like a mud wall. Yes, as it is said, "The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the righteous shall run into it and be safe."
