Redemption by Grace

AATHAVAN 🖋️ 674 ⛪ December 02, 2022 Friday

"For he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel." ( Acts 9 : 15 )

God met Saul who was persecuting people who had faith on Christ and was ruining the church and turned him into Paul. The news of Saul's conversion is first reported to a man named Ananias from Damascus.

God sends Ananias to personally meet Saul, who lost his sight due to a vision given by Jesus Christ, and pray for him to regain his sight. Ananias is afraid to go to Saul because Ananias knew well that Saul was persecuting the Jews who had faith in Christ. Then God told Ananias that Saul was no longer the old Saul; He tells him that he is the character God know and sends him to go to him.

"He is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel." Here God also tells Ananias why God is going to use Paul.

Beloved, like Paul, we are often working against Christ today. Paul persecuted Christians without knowing the truth, we knowingly persecute Christ with our unseemly sinful actions.

Paul did not confess his sins to Christ at first; He did not feel that what he had done was a sin. But God met him. Yes, Paul came to know Christ by grace. That's why when he talks about his redemption experience, he says "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" ( Romans 3 : 24 )

Also, even though Paul acted against Christ, he did so out of ignorance and faith in the commandments of the law given by God. He had a strong faith in his Jewish teachings. So he persecuted the Christians because he was angry with them for teaching the opposite. But today we don't have such situation. "We also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses" to tell us about Christ's salvation (Hebrews 12:1) so we must be alert.

If we have our inner thoughts, the desire to know God, and a righteous life, we are not far from Christ. Surely He will reveal Himself to us. Not only that, but to the Gentiles and kings, he will make us his vessels to proclaim his name.
