தியானம் - 2040
"நீங்களோ, உங்களை அந்தகாரத்தினின்று தம்முடைய ஆச்சரியமான ஒளியினிடத்திற்கு வரவழைத்தவருடைய புண்ணியங்களை அறிவிக்கும்படிக்குத் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட சந்ததியாயும், ராஜரீகமான ஆசாரியக்கூட்டமாயும், பரிசுத்த ஜாதியாயும், அவருக்குச் சொந்தமான ஜனமாயும் இருக்கிறீர்கள்." ( 1 பேதுரு 2 : 9 )
வெளிப்பார்வைக்கு எதுவும் தெரியாமல் இருந்தாலும் இந்த உலகம் அந்தகார இருளில் மூழ்கி இருக்கின்றது. எனவேதான் இன்று இருளின் செயல்பாடுகள் உலகினில் அதிகரித்துள்ளன. நாமும் ஒருகாலத்தில் இந்த இருளின் மக்களாகவே இருந்தோம். ஆனால், ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிருபையால் நமது வாழ்க்கையில் வந்தபோது நமது அந்தகாரம் மாறியது.
இப்போது நாம் அவருடைய ஆச்சரியமான ஒளிக்குள் வந்துள்ளோம். மட்டுமல்ல, அவர் நம்மைக் கடவுளால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட சந்ததியாயும், ராஜரீகமான ஆசாரியக்கூட்டமாயும், பரிசுத்த ஜாதியாயும், அவருக்குச் சொந்தமான ஜனமாயும் மாற்றியுள்ளார்.
நாம் யாராக இருந்தாலும், இன்று எவ்வளவு பெரிய அந்தகாரத்தினுள் இருந்தாலும் உலகின் ஒளியாகிய அவரால் நம்மை முற்றிலும் ஒளிமிக்கவர்களாக மாற்றிடமுடியும். இதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான யோவான், "உலகத்திலே வந்து எந்த மனுஷனையும் பிரகாசிப்பிக்கிற ஒளியே அந்த மெய்யான ஒளி" ( யோவான் 1 : 9 ) என்று கூறுகின்றார். எனவே, எந்த மனிதனும் அவரது ஒளியைத் தேடினால் நிச்சயமாக அதனைக் கண்டடைவான்.
இப்படி அந்தகாரத்திலிருந்த நாம் இன்று மெய்யான ஒளியினிடம் வந்துள்ளதால் நாம் அந்த ஒளியை நமக்குள் மட்டும் வைத்துக்கொண்டு இருக்கக்கூடாது. ஏற்கெனவே நம்மைப்போல இருளில் இருக்கும் மற்றவர்களையும் அந்த ஒளியைநோக்கி வரச்செய்யவேண்டும்.
இதனையே இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் அப்போஸ்தலரான பேதுரு, உங்களை அந்தகாரத்தினின்று தம்முடைய ஆச்சரியமான ஒளியினிடத்திற்கு வரவழைத்தவருடைய புண்ணியங்களை அறிவிக்கும்படிக்கு என்று கூறுகின்றார். தேவன் நம்மைக் கடவுளால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட சந்ததியாயும், ராஜரீகமான ஆசாரியக்கூட்டமாயும், பரிசுத்த ஜாதியாயும், அவருக்குச் சொந்தமான ஜனமாயும் மாற்றியுள்ளது நாம் அவரை மற்றவர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவே.
அவரை அறிவித்தல் என்றவுடன் எல்லோரும் வேதாகமத்தைக் கையில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போதிக்கவேண்டும் என்று பொருளல்ல. மாறாக, நமது பழைய அந்தகார வாழ்க்கையிலிருந்து நாம் மாறி ஒளியிடம் வந்துள்ளோம் என்பதனை நமது வாழ்க்கையினால் மற்றவர்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பதைக் குறிக்கின்றது. அதாவது, ஒரு சாட்சியுள்ள வாழ்க்கையினை தேவன் நம்மிடம் எதிர்பார்க்கின்றார். அப்படி சாட்சியாக வாழ்வதே அவரை அறிவித்தல்.
ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்கள், ராஜரீகமான ஆசாரியக்கூட்டம், பரிசுத்த ஜாதி, அவருக்குச் சொந்தமான ஜனம். இந்த எண்ணம் எப்போதும் நமக்குள் இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம்.

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light." (1 Peter 2:9)
Even though it may not be readily apparent to the outward eye, this world is steeped in deep darkness. That is why the works of darkness are increasing in the world today. We too were once people of this darkness. But when the Lord Jesus entered our lives through His grace, our darkness was turned away.
Now, we have come into His marvellous light. Not only that, but God has transformed us into a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people for His own possession.
No matter who we are or how deep the darkness we find ourselves in today, the One who is the Light of the World can completely transform us into beings filled with light. The Apostle John speaks of this very truth:
"There was the true
Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man." (John 1:9)
Therefore, if any person
seeks His light, they will surely find it.
Having come out of darkness
and into the true Light, we must not keep this light solely to ourselves. We
must lead others—who are currently in the darkness just as we once were—toward
this light.
This is precisely what the
Apostle Peter means in today's meditation verse when he says, "so that
you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness
into His marvellous light." The reason God has transformed us into a
chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people for His own
possession is so that we may proclaim Him to others.
Proclaiming Him does not
mean everyone must pick up a Bible and preach. Rather, it means demonstrating
through our lives that we have turned away from our old life of darkness and
entered into the light. In other words, God expects a faithful testimony from
our lives. Living as such a witness is what it truly means to proclaim Him.
Yes, beloved ones, we are a
chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people for His own
possession. It is vital that we keep this truth continually in our minds.
