🦋 Meditation verse - எபிரெயர் 10 : 16 / Hebrews 10:16

ஆதவன் தியானம்

"அந்த நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு நான் அவர்களோடே பண்ணும் உடன்படிக்கையாவது: நான் என்னுடைய பிரமாணங்களை அவர்களுடைய இருதயங்களில் வைத்து, அவைகளை அவர்களுடைய மனதில் எழுதுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் .." ( எபிரெயர் 10 : 16 )

புதிய ஏற்பாட்டு உடன்படிக்கையினைக் குறித்து இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. மோசே மூலம் தேவன் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு பல்வேறு கட்டளைகளைக் கொடுத்தார். அந்தக் கட்டளைகளிபோல உலகினில் வேறு எவரும் பெற்றது கிடையாது. "இந்நாளில் நான் உங்களுக்கு விதிக்கிற இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணம் முழுமைக்கும் ஒத்த இவ்வளவு நீதியுள்ள கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் பெற்றிருக்கிற வேறே பெரிய ஜாதியும் எது?" ( உபாகமம் 4 : 8 ) என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

யாத்திராகமம் முதல் உபாகமம் முடிய கூறப்பட்டுள்ளக் கட்டளைகள் தேவன் அந்த மக்களை நல்வழிப்படுத்தவும் பிற மக்கள் இனத்திலிருந்து தான் தெரிந்துகொண்ட மக்களைச் சிறப்பானவர்களாக மாற்றவும் கொடுத்தவை.   இவ்வளவு நீதியுள்ள கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் தேவன் வேறு யாருக்கும் கொடுக்கவுமில்லை. இந்தக் கட்டளைகள் மொத்தம் 613 என்று வேத அறிஞர்கள் கணக்கிட்டுள்ளனர். 

ஒரு சிறந்த யூதன் என்பவன் இந்தக் கட்டளைகளைக் கடைபிடிப்பவன்தான் என வேத அறிஞர்களும் பரிசேயர்களும் எண்ணினர். எனவே, அவர்கள் இந்தக் கட்டளைகளுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்து வாழ்ந்தனர்.  ஆனால் அந்த மக்கள் கட்டளைகளுக்கு கொடுத்த முக்கியத்துவத்தை அன்புக்கும் மனித நேயத்துக்கும் கொடுக்கவில்லை.

கட்டளைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவதுபோல அன்பையும் நீதியையும் விட்டுவிடாமல் இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று இயேசு கிறிஸ்து வலியுறுத்தினார். "மாயக்காரராகிய வேதபாரகரே! பரிசேயரே! உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, நீங்கள் ஒற்தலாமிலும் வெந்தயத்திலும் சீரகத்திலும் தசமபாகம் செலுத்தி, நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தில் கற்பித்திருக்கிற விசேஷித்தவைகளாகிய நீதியையும் இரக்கத்தையும் விசுவாசத்தையும் விட்டுவிட்டீர்கள், இவைகளையும் செய்யவேண்டும், அவைகளையும் விடாதிருக்கவேண்டுமே." ( மத்தேயு 23 : 23 )

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நியாயப்பிரமாண கட்டளைகள் அவற்றைக் கடைபிடிப்பதால் மட்டும் எவரையும் நீதிமானாக்குவதில்லை. "நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் கிரியைகளினாலே எந்த மனுஷனும் நீதிமானாக்கப்படுவதில்லையே." ( கலாத்தியர் 2 : 16 ) என்று வேதம் கூறுவது இதனால்தான். உள்ளான மனிதனில் மாற்றம் ஏற்படாமல் செய்யும் எந்தச் செயலும் தேவனுக்கு ஏற்றதாக இருக்க முடியாது. 

இத்தனை கட்டளைகளை தேவன் கொடுத்திருந்தும் மனிதனை நீதிப்பாதையில் நடத்த நியாயப்பிரமாணம் பலவீனமாகிவிட்டது. எனவே, அதனை மனிதனுக்காக தேவனே செய்துவிடத் தீர்மானித்தார். அதுவே கிறிஸ்து மூலம் உருவான புதிய கிருபையின் உடன்படிக்கை. 

"அதெப்படியெனில், மாம்சத்தினாலே பலவீனமாயிருந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணம் செய்யக்கூடாததை தேவனே செய்யும்படிக்கு, தம்முடைய குமாரனைப் பாவமாம்சத்தின் சாயலாகவும், பாவத்தைப் போக்கும் பலியாகவும் அனுப்பி, மாம்சத்திலே பாவத்தை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்த்தார்." ( ரோமர் 8 : 3 ) எனவே, பாவத்துக்கு நாம் மரித்தவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டுமானால் கிறிஸ்துவின் மேல் விசுவாசம்கொண்டு அவரது கிருபைக்கு உட்பட்டவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டுமே தவிர கட்டளைகளுக்கு அல்ல. 

கட்டளைகளின் எண்ணிக்கையல்ல, மாறாக, கிறிஸ்துவின் நீதியின் பிரமாணம் நமது உள்ளங்களில் எழுதப்படவேண்டும். அப்போது, சத்திய ஆவியானவரே பாவத்தைக்குறித்தும், நீதியைக்குறித்தும், நியாயத்தீர்ப்பைக் குறித்தும்  உலகத்தைக் கண்டித்து உணர்த்துவார். (யோவான் 16:8) 

கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு நம்மை ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கும்போது, கிறிஸ்துவின் பிரமாணங்களை நம்முடைய இருதயங்களில் வைத்து, அவைகளை அவர் நமது மனதில் எழுதுவேன் என்று கூறுகின்றார். இது கிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபையால் நமக்கு ஏற்படுகின்றது.   "நீங்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிராமல் கிருபைக்குக் கீழ்பட்டிருக்கிறபடியால், பாவம் உங்களை மேற்கொள்ளமாட்டாது." ( ரோமர் 6 : 14 ) ஆம், பாவம் நம்மை மேற்கொள்ளாதபடி புதிய உடன்படிக்கை நமது மனதில் எழுதப்படுகின்றது.   

சுருக்கமாக - கற்பலகைகளில் எழுதப்பட்ட பழைய கட்டளைகள்  அன்பை மறக்கச் செய்தன; இருதயத்தில் எழுதப்பட்ட புதிய உடன்படிக்கை கிருபையினால் அன்பைக் கடைபிடித்து நாம் பரிசுத்தமாக வாழ உதவுகின்றது.

"THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND, I WILL WRITE THEM." (Hebrews 10:16)

Today's meditation verse speaks about the New Testament covenant. God gave various commandments to the people of Israel through Moses. No one else in the world had ever received commands such as those. As it is written:

"Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as righteous as this whole Law which I am setting before you today?" (Deuteronomy 4:8)

The commandments recorded from Exodus through Deuteronomy were given by God to guide those people on the right path and to make the nation He chose special above all others. God did not give such righteous statutes and judgments to anyone else. Biblical scholars calculate that there are a total of 613 such commandments.

The scribes and Pharisees believed that a true Jew was one who strictly observed these commandments. Therefore, they prioritised these statutes in their daily living. However, while they placed emphasis on the rules, they failed to give that same importance to love and humanity.

Jesus Christ emphasized that while obeying commandments, one must not abandon love and righteousness:

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the Law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others." (Matthew 23:23)

Yes, dear ones, observing the works of the Law alone does not make anyone righteous. This is why Scripture says:

"...by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified." (Galatians 2:16)

Any action performed without a transformation in the inner person cannot be acceptable to God.

Despite God providing all these commandments, the Law became weak in guiding humanity onto the path of righteousness. Therefore, God Himself determined to accomplish for man what the Law could not. That is the new covenant of grace brought forth through Jesus Christ:

"For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh..." (Romans 8:3)

Therefore, if we are to be dead to sin, we must place our faith in Christ and submit to His grace, rather than rely on legalistic observance.

It is not the sheer number of commandments, but rather Christ's law of righteousness that needs to be inscribed upon our inner selves. When that happens, the Spirit of Truth Himself will convict the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8).

When we surrender ourselves to Christ, He promises to put His laws upon our hearts and write them on our minds. This takes place through the grace of Christ:

"For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace." (Romans 6:14)

Indeed, so that sin will not master us, the new covenant is written directly upon our minds.

In Summary: The old commandments written on tablets of stone caused people to forget love; the new covenant written upon the heart empowers us through grace to live holy lives defined by love.
