🦋 Meditation verse - கலாத்தியர் 6:9 / Galatians 6:9

"ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1990 

ஜூலை 20 திங்கள் 2026   

"நன்மைசெய்கிறதில் சோர்ந்துபோகாமல் இருப்போமாக; நாம் தளர்ந்துபோகாதிருந்தால் ஏற்றகாலத்தில் அறுப்போம்." (கலாத்தியர் 6:9)

சிலர் எப்போதும் தங்களது நல்ல செயல்களை எடுத்துக்கூறி, தங்களைத் தாங்களே நியாயப்படுத்தி தேவனைக் குறைகூறுவதுண்டு. எனக்குத் தெரிந்த ஒரு வயதான சகோதரி, "நான் எவ்வளவோ நல்ல காரியங்கள் செய்கிறேன், ஏழைகளுக்கு உதவுகிறேன், ஒரு சில குழந்தைகளின் படிப்புக்கு உதவி செய்கின்றேன்,  இப்படியிருந்தும் எனக்கு வாழ்வில் நல்லது எதுவும் நடக்கமாட்டேன் என்கிறது. ஆண்டவர் என்னை ஏறெடுத்தும் பார்ப்பதில்லை" என்று நான் அவர்களைப் பார்க்கும்போதெல்லாம் என்னிடம் புலம்பிக்கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்.  

இவர்களிடம் இரண்டு தவறுகளை நான் கண்டுகொண்டேன். முதலாவது, இப்படி பிறருக்கு உதவி செய்தால் தனக்கு நல்லது எப்போதும் நடக்கும் எனும் முன் எதிர்பார்ப்பு எண்ணம். பிறருக்கு நல்லது செய்யும்போது நாம் கைமாறு கருதாமல் செய்யவேண்டியது அவசியம். இந்தப் பெண்மணியிடம் இந்த குணம் இல்லை. இவர்கள் நன்மைசெய்வதை வங்கியில் பணத்தை முதலீடு செய்வதுபோல எண்ணி அதனால் வரும் பலனை எதிர்பார்த்து ஏமாந்தவர்கள். 

இரண்டாவது, இவர்கள் பிறருக்கு நன்மை செய்தால் நமக்கு உடனேயே நல்லது நடக்கும் என எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள். ஆனால் வேதத்தில் நாம் அப்படி வாசிக்கவில்லை. நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து நன்மை செய்கிறவராக சுற்றித்திரிந்தார். ஆனால் சிலுவை மரணம்தான் அவருக்குப் பரிசாகக் கிடைத்தது. 

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் நன்மைசெய்கிறதில் நாம் சோர்ந்துபோகாமல் இருக்க அறிவுறுத்துகின்றது.  மட்டுமல்ல, அப்படிச் சோர்ந்துபோகாமல்  நன்மை செய்வோமானால் ஏற்றகாலத்தில் அறுப்போம் என்று கூறுகின்றது. "ஏற்ற காலம்" என்பது எந்த காலம் என்று நமக்குத் தெரியாது. "ஒவ்வொன்றிற்கும் ஒவ்வொரு காலமுண்டு; வானத்தின் கீழிருக்கிற ஒவ்வொரு காரியத்துக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு சமயமுண்டு" (பிரசங்கி 3:1) என்று நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

மேலும், "அவர் சகலத்தையும் அதனதன் காலத்திலே நேர்த்தியாகச் செய்திருக்கிறார்; உலகத்தையும் அவர்கள் உள்ளத்திலே வைத்திருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் தேவன் ஆதிமுதல் அந்தம்மட்டும் செய்துவரும் கிரியையை மனுஷன் கண்டுபிடியான்." (பிரசங்கி 3:11) என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. எனவே நாம் நன்மை செய்வதில் சோர்ந்துபோகாமல் இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். 

நாம் நிலத்தில் ஏதாவது பயிர் செய்திருப்போமானால், அதற்கு தினசரி தண்ணீர் ஊற்றுவோம், உரமிடுவோம், களைகளை அகற்றி பராமரிப்போம், அவைகளின் அடிப்பகுதியில் கிளறி விடுவோம், பூச்சிகள் தாக்காதபடி பூச்சிக்கொல்லிகளைப் பயன்படுத்துவோம். இப்படிச் செய்வது நன்மை செய்வதுபோலத்தான். ஆனால் இதன் பலன் உடனடியாக  நமக்குக் கிடைக்காது. ஏற்ற காலம் வரும் வரை நாம் காத்திருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம்.  ஆனாலும் சிலவேளைகளில் விவசாயிகள் பயிரின் பலனை அடைவதற்குமுன் இயற்கைப் பேரிடர்களால் பயிர்கள் அழிந்துவிடுவதுண்டு. 

இப்படித் தாங்கள் பயிரிட்ட நெற்பயிரோ, வாழையோ அழிந்துபோனால் அந்த விவசாயிகள் சோர்ந்துபோய்விடுவதில்லை. மறுபடியும் பயிர்ச்செய்வார்கள். பின்னர் வெற்றிபெறுவார்கள். ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் நன்மை செய்வது இந்திய விவசாயிகள் பருவகாலத்துடன் போராடுவது போன்றதே. இதனையே ஆங்கிலத்தில், Indian agriculture is a gambling with mansoon என்பார்கள்.  இந்த விவசாயிகளைப்போல ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை வாழும் நாமும் நன்மைசெய்கிறதில் சோர்ந்துபோகாமல் இருப்போமாக; நாம் தளர்ந்துபோகாதிருந்தால் ஏற்றகாலத்தில் அறுப்போம்.

"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary." — Galatians 6:9

Some people always boast about their good deeds, justify themselves, and blame God. An elderly sister I know used to lament to me every time I saw her, saying: "I do so many good things—I help the poor, and I assist with the education of a few children. Yet, nothing good seems to happen in my life. The Lord doesn't even look up at me."

I noticed two mistakes in her attitude:

Expectation of Return: The mindset that doing good to others will automatically ensure good things happen to us. When we do good to others, it is essential that we do so without expecting anything in return. This sister lacked that quality. She viewed doing good like investing money in a bank, expecting returns, and ended up disappointed.

Expecting Immediate Results: She believed that doing good to others meant immediate blessings for herself. However, we do not read this in Scripture. Our Lord Jesus Christ went about doing good, yet the earthly reward He received was death on a cross.

Today’s meditation verse urges us not to lose heart in doing good. Furthermore, it promises that if we do not grow weary and continue doing good, we will reap at the proper time.

We do not know when this "proper time" is. As we read:

"There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven." — Ecclesiastes 3:1

Furthermore, it is written:

"He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end." — Ecclesiastes 3:11

Therefore, it is necessary that we do not grow weary in doing good.

If we cultivate a crop in a field, we water it daily, apply fertilizer, remove weeds, loosen the soil around the base, and use pesticides to protect it from pests. Doing all this is like doing good. However, we do not get the harvest immediately; we must wait until the proper time arrives. Even so, sometimes before farmers can reap the harvest, their crops are destroyed by natural disasters.

Yet, when their cultivated paddy or banana crops are destroyed, those farmers do not lose heart. They plant again and eventually succeed.

Yes, dear ones, our doing good is much like Indian farmers battling the seasons—as the phrase goes, "Indian agriculture is a gamble with the monsoon." Like these farmers, let us who live a spiritual life not lose heart in doing good; if we do not grow weary, we will reap in due time.
