🦋 Meditation verse - ஏசாயா 42 : 16 / Isaiah 42:16

"ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1974

"குருடரை அவர்கள் அறியாத வழியிலே நடத்தி, அவர்களுக்குத் தெரியாத பாதைகளில் அவர்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக இருளை வெளிச்சமும், கோணலைச் செவ்வையுமாக்குவேன்; இந்தக் காரியங்களை நான் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்து, அவர்களைக் கைவிடாதிருப்பேன்." ( ஏசாயா 42 : 16 )

தேவனை வாழ்வில் அறியவேண்டுமானால் முதலில் நாம் நமது அறியாமையை ஒத்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டியது அவசியம். எந்த காரியத்திலும் எனக்கு எல்லாம் தெரியும் என்று எண்ணுவோமானால் நாம் ஒன்றையும் அறியத்தக்கவிதத்தில் அறியவில்லை என்று பொருள். "ஒருவன் தான் ஏதேனும் ஒன்றை அறிந்தவனென்று எண்ணிக்கொள்வானானால், ஒன்றையும் அறியவேண்டியபிரகாரமாக அவன் இன்னும் அறியவில்லை." ( 1 கொரிந்தியர் 8 : 2 ) என்று அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் கூறவில்லையா? 

தேவனை அறியும் விதத்திலும் இதுவே உண்மை. இன்று பலரும் தேவனை வாழ்வில் அறியாதிருக்கக் காரணம் அவர்கள் தாங்கள் தேவனை அறியவில்லை எனும் உண்மையினை ஒத்துக்கொள்ளாமல் இருப்பதால்தான். பலரும்  தேவனைக் குறித்துத் தங்கள் தாய் தந்தையர்கள் கற்பித்தச்  செய்திகள் மட்டுமே உண்மையென்று நம்பி தேவனைத் தனிப்பட்ட விதத்தில் அறிய முயலாமல் இறுதிவரை அவரை  அறியாமலேயே போகின்றனர்.  

"ஆண்டவரே, நான் உண்மையில் உம்மை அறியாதக் குருடனாக இருக்கின்றேன். நான் உம்மை அறியவேண்டும்.   எனது பெற்றோரும், ஆலயத்தில் குருக்களும் கூறும் செய்திகள் அல்ல,  நீர் உம்மை எனக்குத் தனிப்பட்ட விதத்தில்  வெளிப்படுத்தும்" என, தேவனை அறியும் உண்மையான ஆர்வத்துடன் வேண்டுவோமானால் நமக்கு அவர் வெளிப்படுவார். ஆம், "தம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிற யாவருக்கும், உண்மையாய்த் தம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிற யாவருக்கும், கர்த்தர் சமீபமாயிருக்கிறார்." ( சங்கீதம் 145 : 18 )

இதனையே தேவன் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தின் மூலம் கூறுகின்றார். அதாவது,  தேவனை அறியாதிருக்கின்ற ஆன்மீகக் குருடர்களை இதுவரை வாழ்வில் அவர்கள் அறியாதிருக்கும் வழியில் நடத்தி அவர்களது வாழ்வின் இருளையும், கோணலான வழிகளையும் மாற்றுவேன் என்கின்றார் தேவன். 

இப்படித் தங்களைத் தேவனுக்கு  ஒப்புக்கொடுக்காமல் வாழும் மக்களை நோக்கி இன்றைய தியான வசந்தின் அடுத்த வசனத்தில் தேவன் கூறுகின்றார்,  "சித்திரவேலையான விக்கிரகங்களை நம்பி, வார்ப்பிக்கப்பட்ட சுரூபங்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் எங்கள் தேவர்கள் என்று சொல்லுகிறவர்கள் பின்னடைந்து மிகவும் வெட்கப்படுவார்கள்". ( ஏசாயா 42 : 17 ) அதாவது, ஆத்துமாவில் தேவனை உணர்ந்துகொள்ளாமல் சிலைகளையும் உருவங்களையும் பணிந்துகொண்டு அவைகளையே தேவர்கள் என்று கூறிக்கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள் தேவனை வாழ்வில் அறியாமல்  பின்னடைந்து போவார்கள். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே மற்றவர்கள் கூறுவதால் அல்ல, நாம் தேவனை வாழ்வில் உணர்ந்திருக்கின்றோமா என்பதே முக்கியம். வேதாகமத்தில் தேவனை அறிந்து அன்புசெய்து வாழ்ந்த பல பரிசுத்தவான்களது அனுபவங்கள் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளன. அவை வெறுமனே வாசித்து அறிந்துகொள்வதற்கு மட்டுமல்ல, நமது வாழ்விலும் அவற்றை நாம் அனுபவிக்கவேண்டும் என்பதற்காகவும்தான். 

நாம் ஆன்மீகக் குருடர்கள் என்பதனை முதலில் ஒத்துக்கொண்டால் மட்டுமே நாம் அவரை அறியமுடியும். அப்போது குருடரான நம்மை நாம் இதுவரை  அறியாத வழியிலே நடத்தி, நமக்குத் தெரியாத பாதைகளில் நம்மை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, நமக்கு முன்பாக இருளை வெளிச்சமும், கோணலைச் செவ்வையுமாக்குவார். இந்தக் காரியங்களை செய்து முடிக்குமட்டும் அவர் நம்மைக் கைவிடாதிருப்பேன் என்கின்றார்.  தேவனைக்குறித்த நமது அறியாமையை அவரிடம் அறிக்கையிட்டு வேண்டுவோம். நிச்சயம் நமக்கு அவர் தன்னை வெளிப்படுத்துவார்.

"I will lead those who are blind by a way they do not know, in paths they do not know I will guide them. I will make darkness into light before them and crooked places into plains. These are the things I will do, and I will not leave them undone." — Isaiah 42:16

If we want to truly know God in our lives, it is absolutely essential that we first acknowledge our own ignorance. If we look at any matter and think, "I know everything," it means we do not yet know anything as we ought to know it. Did not the Apostle Paul say, "If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know"? (1 Corinthians 8:2).

This is equally true when it comes to knowing God. The reason many people today do not truly know God in their lives is that they refuse to admit the reality that they do not know Him. Many simply believe that whatever their parents taught them about God is the ultimate truth; they never attempt to know God on a personal level, and consequently, they live out their entire lives without ever truly knowing Him.

If we pray with a sincere desire to know Him, saying, "Lord, I am truly blind and do not know You. I need to know You. Let it not just be what my parents or the church priests say—reveal Yourself to me personally," He will surely reveal Himself to us. Indeed, "The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth." (Psalm 145:18).

This is exactly what God is telling us through today’s meditation verse. That is, He promises to lead those who are spiritually blind—who do not know God—by a way they have never known in their lives, and He will transform the darkness and the crooked paths of their lives.

To the people who live without surrendering themselves to God in this manner, God says in the very next verse of today's passage: "They will be turned back and be utterly put to shame, who trust in idols, who say to molten images, 'You are our gods.'" (Isaiah 42:17). In other words, those who do not perceive God in their souls, but instead bow down to idols and statues, calling them their gods, will turn back and miss out on truly knowing God in their lives.

Yes, dearly beloved, what matters is not what others tell us, but whether we have personally experienced God in our own lives. The Bible describes the experiences of many saints who knew God, loved Him, and lived for Him. These accounts are not there merely for us to read and gain knowledge, but so that we too might experience those same realities in our own lives.

Only when we first admit that we are spiritually blind can we truly come to know Him. Then, He will lead us—who were blind—by a way we have never known, guide us in paths unfamiliar to us, turn our darkness into light, and make our crooked places straight. He assures us that He will not leave us until He has done these things. Let us confess our ignorance about God to Him and pray. He will surely reveal Himself to us.
