🦋 Meditation verse - சங்கீதம் 18 : 17, 18 / Psalm 18:17, 18

"ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1997

ஜூலை 27 திங்கள் 2026   

"என்னிலும் பலவான்களாயிருந்த என் பலத்த சத்துருவுக்கும் என்னைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் என்னை விடுவித்தார். என் ஆபத்துநாளில் எனக்கு எதிரிட்டு வந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தரோ எனக்கு ஆதரவாயிருந்தார்." ( சங்கீதம் 18 : 17, 18 )

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் தாவீது இராஜாவின் சங்கீத புத்தகத்தின் வார்த்தைகளாகும். கர்த்தர் தாவீதை எல்லா சத்துருக்களின் கைகளுக்கும் சவுலின் கைகளுக்கும் தப்புவித்தபோது தாவீது பாடியது  என்று இந்தச் சங்கீதம் குறிப்பிடப்படுகின்றது.   

தாவீதுக்கு எதிராக எழும்பியவர்கள்  பலர். எப்படியாவது அவனை அழித்துவிடவேண்டும் என்று அவர்கள் முயன்றார்கள். சவுல் முற்றிலும் பொறாமையால் நிறைந்தவனாகத் தாவீதைக் கொன்று ஒழிக்க முயன்றான். பல்வேறு சூழ்நிலைகளில் தாவீதுக்கும் மரணத்துக்கும் ஒருசில அடி தூரம் மட்டுமே இருந்தது. ஆனால் தாவீதுக்குக் கர்த்தர் ஆதரவாக இருந்தார்; அவரைக் காப்பாற்றினார். அந்த நன்றி உணர்வில் அவர் கூறுகின்றார்,  "என் பலத்த சத்துருவுக்கும் என்னைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் என்னை விடுவித்தார். என் ஆபத்துநாளில் எனக்கு எதிரிட்டு வந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தரோ எனக்கு ஆதரவாயிருந்தார்"  என்று. 

அன்பானவர்களே, வேதாகமம் முழுவதும் நாம் இப்படிக் கர்த்தர் தனது அடியார்களை விடுவித்தச் சம்பவங்களால் நிறைந்துள்ளதைப் பார்க்கலாம். தேவனை உறுதியான விசுவாசத்துடன் நம்பிச் செயல்படுபவர்களை அவர் கைவிடுவதில்லை. அன்று கானானைச் சுதந்தரிக்கும்முன் அதனைச் சுற்றிப்பார்த்துத்  தகவல் கொண்டுவர மோசே குலத்துக்கு ஒருவராகத் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை அனுப்பினார். அவர்கள் சென்று நாற்பதுநாள் கழித்துத் திரும்பி வந்தார்கள். அப்படி வந்த அவர்கள் கூறிய வார்த்தைகளோ அவிசுவாச வார்த்தைகள். 

"நாங்கள் போய்ச் சுற்றிப் பார்த்து வந்த அந்த தேசம் தன் குடிகளைப் பட்சிக்கிற தேசம்; நாங்கள் அதிலே கண்ட ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் மிகவும் பெரிய ஆட்கள். அங்கே இராட்சதப் பிறவியான ஏனாக்கின் குமாரராகிய இராட்சதரையும் கண்டோம்; நாங்கள் எங்கள் பார்வைக்கு வெட்டுக்கிளிகளைப்போல் இருந்தோம், அவர்கள் பார்வைக்கும் அப்படியே இருந்தோம் என்று சொல்லி, இப்படி இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குள்ளே தாங்கள் சுற்றிப்பார்த்து வந்த தேசத்தைக்குறித்து துர்ச்செய்தி பரம்பச்செய்தார்கள்." ( எண்ணாகமம் 13 : 32, 33 )

ஆனால் அவர்களோடு சென்றுவந்த காலேபும் யோசுவாவும் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களைத் திடப்படுத்தினார்கள். கர்த்தர் நம்மோடு இருக்கிறார் எனவே நாம் அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை என்றனர். ஆம், "கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகமாத்திரம் கலகம்பண்ணாதிருங்கள்; அந்த தேசத்தின் ஜனங்களுக்கு நீங்கள் பயப்படவேண்டியதில்லை; அவர்கள் நமக்கு இரையாவார்கள்; அவர்களைக் காத்த நிழல் அவர்களை விட்டு விலகிப்போயிற்று; கர்த்தர் நம்மோடே இருக்கிறார்; அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டியதில்லை என்றார்கள்." ( எண்ணாகமம் 14 : 9 )

அவர்கள் விசுவாசித்ததுபோல கர்த்தர் பல்வேறு ராஜாக்களை மடங்கடித்து இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களை கானானுக்குள் கொண்டுசென்று சேர்த்தார்.  

அன்று அந்த இஸ்ரவேலர்கள், "நாங்கள் அதிலே கண்ட ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் மிகவும் பெரிய ஆட்கள்"  "இராட்சதப் பிறவிகள்"  என்று கூறியதைப்போல நாமும் பலவேளைகளில் நமக்கு எதிராக நிற்கும் பிரச்சனைகளைப் பார்த்துப் பயந்து நடுங்குகின்றோம். அதற்கு மாறாக நாம் தாவீதைப்போல  "என்னிலும் பலவான்களாயிருக்கும் என் பலத்த சத்துருவுக்கும் என்னைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் அவர் விடுவிப்பார். எனக்கு எதிரிட்டு வருகிறார்கள், கர்த்தரோ எனக்கு ஆதரவாயிப்பார்" என்று விசுவாச அறிக்கையிடப்  பழகுவோம்.  எல்லோரிலும் பெரியவரும் வல்லவருமான தேவனையே  நோக்கிப்பார்த்து அவரை விசுவாச உறுதியுடன் பற்றிக்கொள்வோம்.  நெருக்கும் பிரச்சனைகளுக்கும் துன்பங்களுக்கும்  பயப்படவேண்டியதில்லை. கர்த்தர் நமக்கு ஆதரவாகவே இருப்பார்.

"AATHAVAN" Meditation - 1997

"He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay." (Psalm 18:17, 18)

Today’s verse for meditation comes from the book of Psalms written by King David. This psalm is noted as the song David sang when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

Many rose up against David. They attempted in every way to destroy him. Saul, filled completely with jealousy, tried to do away with David. In various situations, David was just a few steps away from death. But the Lord was David’s support and stay; He saved him. In deep gratitude, David proclaims: "He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay."

Dearly beloved, throughout the Bible, we can see that it is filled with accounts of the Lord delivering His servants. He never forsakes those who trust and act upon Him with steadfast faith. Back then, before inheriting Canaan, Moses sent chosen men—one from each tribe of the children of Israel—to spy out the land and bring back a report. They went and returned after forty days. However, the words they spoke upon their return were words of unbelief:

"And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight." (Numbers 13:32, 33)

However, Caleb and Joshua, who had gone with them, encouraged the people of Israel. They declared that the Lord was with them, so there was no need to fear those people. Yes:

"Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not." (Numbers 14:9)

Just as they believed, the Lord subdued many kings and brought the people of Israel into Canaan.

Just as those Israelites said, "all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature" and spoke of "giants," we too often tremble in fear when looking at the problems standing against us. Instead, let us learn to declare our faith like David: “He will deliver me from my strong enemies and from those who hate me, though they are stronger than I. They confront me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord will be my stay.”

Let us look unto God, who is greater and more powerful than all, and hold fast to Him with firm faith. There is no need to fear pressing problems or afflictions. The Lord will surely be our stay and support.
