🦋 Meditation verse - சங்கீதம் 9 : 18 / Psalm 9:18

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1992

"எளியவன் என்றைக்கும் மறக்கப்படுவதில்லை; சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களுடைய நம்பிக்கை ஒருபோதும் கெட்டுப்போவதில்லை." ( சங்கீதம் 9 : 18 )

"அற்ற குளத்தின்  அறுநீர்ப்  பறவைபோல் ...." என்று தமிழ்ப் புலவர் அவ்வையாரின்  மூதுரைப் பாடல் ஒன்று உண்டு. குளத்தின் தண்ணீர் வற்றிவிடுமானால் பறவைகளுக்கு மீன் கிடைக்காது. எனவே அதுவரை குளத்தின் அருகிலேயே தங்கி வாழ்ந்த பறவைகள் குளத்தின் நீர் வற்றியவுடன் குளத்தை மறந்து அங்கிருந்து பறந்து சென்றுவிடும். 

இதுபோலச்  செல்வச் செழிப்போடு நாம் வாழும்போது மனிதர்களும் உறவுகளும் நம்மைச் சூழ்ந்துகொள்வார்கள். ஆனால் காலச் சூழ்நிலையில் நமது வாழ்வில் வறுமை வருமானால் நம்மைப் புகழ்ந்து நம்மோடு இருந்தவர்கள் நம்மைவிட்டு விலகிவிடுவார்கள். இது உலக இயல்பு. யோபுவை இப்படித்தான் நண்பர்களும் சுற்றத்தார்களும் சொந்த மனைவியும் வெறுத்தார்கள். ஆனால் நமது தேவன் இப்படிப்பட்டவர் அல்ல. அவர் எளியவர்களை என்றைக்கும் மறப்பதுமில்லை, சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களைக் கைவிடுவதுமில்லை.  

மாற்கு நற்செய்தியில் பர்திமேயு எனும் ஒரு மனிதனைக்குறித்து வாசிக்கின்றோம். இவன் தெருஓரமாய் அமர்ந்து பிச்சையெடுத்துத்  தனது வாழ்க்கையை நடத்தியவன். காரணம் இவனுக்கு இரண்டு கண்களும் பார்வையற்றவை. நமது வாழ்வில் நாம் இப்படிப்பட்ட பிச்சையெடுக்கும் மனிதர்கள் பலரைக் கண்டிருப்போம். மனிதர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு என்ன மதிப்பைக் கொடுப்பார்கள் என்றும் நமக்குத் தெரியும். ஆம், அவன் சமுதாயத்தால் புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு ஏழை மனிதன். 

ஒருநாள் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து அந்த வழியே வந்தார். "அவன் நசரேயனாகிய இயேசு வருகிறாரென்று கேள்விப்பட்டு: இயேசுவே, தாவீதின் குமாரனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும் என்று கூப்பிடத் தொடங்கினான். அவன் பேசாதிருக்கும்படி அநேகர் அவனை அதட்டினார்கள். அவனோ: தாவீதின் குமாரனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும் என்று முன்னிலும் அதிகமாய்க் கூப்பிட்டான்." ( மாற்கு 10 : 47, 48 ) ஒரு பிரபல மனிதன் வரும்போது தெருஓரத்தில் அமர்ந்திருக்கும் பிச்சைக்காரன் இப்படி சப்தமிட்டால் நாம் என்ன செய்வோம், அதையேதான் அங்கிருந்த மக்கள் செய்தனர். அப்படித்தான் அவனை அதட்டி சத்தம்போடாமலிருக்கக்  கூறினர். 

ஆனால், "எளியவன் என்றைக்கும் மறக்கப்படுவதில்லை; சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களுடைய நம்பிக்கை ஒருபோதும் கெட்டுப்போவதில்லை" எனும் வசனத்துக்கேற்ப ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு அவனது கூக்குரல் கேட்டது. அவனைத் தன்னிடம் அழைத்துவருமாறு கூறினார்.  அவனிடம் அங்கிருந்தவர்கள் அதனைச் சொன்னபோது, "உடனே அவன் தன் மேல்வஸ்திரத்தை எறிந்துவிட்டு, எழுந்து, இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்தான்." ( மாற்கு 10 : 50 )

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, அவனது விசுவாசத்தை நமக்கு இது உணர்த்துகின்றது. இயேசு என்னைக் கூப்பிட்டிருக்கிறார், எனவே எனக்கு அதிசயம் செய்வார். எனக்கு இனி இந்தப் பழைய ஆடையும் பிச்சைப்  பாத்திரமும் தேவையில்லை எனும் விசுவாசம் அவனுக்குள் இருந்தது. எனவே அவன் அவற்றை எறிந்துவிட்டு இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடம் வந்தான். அவனது விசுவாசத்தின்படி ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து அவன் பார்வையடையும்படிச் செய்தார். 

ஒருவேளை இன்று இந்தக் குருடனான  பர்திமேயுவின் வாழ்க்கைபோல நமது வாழ்க்கையும் இருக்கலாம். வறுமை, எதிர்காலத்தைக்குறித்த நம்பிக்கையற்ற நிலை; எதிர்காலத்தைக்குறித்த பார்வையற்ற இருண்ட நிலை நம்மைத் தொடரலாம். புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்ட இந்த ஏழை மனிதனைப்போல நாமும் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால் அன்பானவர்களே, செழிப்போடு, பகட்டோடு, அன்று கிறிஸ்துவோடு நடந்தவர்கள் அதிசயத்தை வாழ்வில் ருசிக்கவில்லை. ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட இந்த எளியவன்தான் உலகையும் அவரையும் வாழ்வில் கண்டுகொண்டான். 

எனவே, உறுதியான விசுவாசத்துடன் தேவனைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளுங்கள். எளியவன் என்றைக்கும் மறக்கப்படுவதில்லை; சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களுடைய நம்பிக்கை ஒருபோதும் கெட்டுப்போவதில்லை; தேவ வசனம் பொய்யானதுமில்லை.

"AATHAVAN" Meditation – 1992

"For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever." — Psalm 9:18

There is a famous verse in Moothurai, written by the ancient Tamil poetess Avvaiyar, that says: "Like the birds of a dried-up pond..." When the water in a pond dries up, fish are no longer available for the birds. Consequently, the birds that lived by the pond for so long forget it and fly away the moment the water vanishes.

Similarly, when we live in wealth and prosperity, people and relatives will surround us. But if the seasons of life change and poverty strikes, those who once praised us and stayed close will distance themselves. This is the way of the world. It was in this exact manner that Job was rejected by his friends, relatives, and even his own wife. However, our God is not like that. He never forgets the needy, nor does He ever forsake the afflicted.

In the Gospel of Mark, we read about a man named Bartimaeus. He was someone who lived his life sitting by the roadside and begging, because he was blind in both eyes. We have likely seen many such beggars in our own lives, and we know how little regard people have for them. Yes, he was a poor man, utterly neglected by society.

One day, the Lord Jesus Christ was passing that way.

"When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, 'Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!' Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, 'Son of David, have mercy on me!'" — Mark 10:47-48

What would we do if a beggar sitting by the street started shouting like this when a famous person was passing by? The people there did the exact same thing. They sternly warned him and told him to keep quiet.

However, true to the scripture, "For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever," the Lord Jesus Christ heard his cry. He commanded that the man be brought to Him. When the people around told Bartimaeus this:

"Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus." — Mark 10:50

Yes, beloved, this reveals his faith to us. He possessed an inner conviction: "Jesus has called me, so He will perform a miracle for me. I no longer need this old cloak or this begging bowl." Therefore, he threw them aside and came to Jesus Christ. According to his faith, the Lord Jesus Christ restored his sight.

Perhaps today, your life feels like that of the blind Bartimaeus. You might be followed by poverty, a sense of hopelessness regarding the future, or a dark blindness toward what lies ahead. You might feel like this neglected, poor man. But beloved, those who walked with Christ that day in prosperity and grandeur did not taste the miracle in their lives. It was this marginalized, needy man who truly beheld both the world and the Savior in his life.

Therefore, hold fast to God with unwavering faith. The needy will never be forgotten; the hope of the afflicted will never perish; and the Word of God never fails.
