தியானம் - 2001
நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து, "நானே வழியும் சத்தியமும் ஜீவனுமாய் இருக்கிறேன்" என்று கூறினார். ஆனால் கிறிஸ்து பிறப்பதற்குமுன் சுமார் 750 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னரே உண்மையான பக்தர்கள் இதனைக் கண்டுகொண்டனர். ஆம், அன்று பழைய ஏற்பாட்டுக்கால யூதர்கள் கிறிஸ்துவை அறியாமலேயே வேண்டுதல்செய்த ஒளி, வழி, சத்தியம் எல்லாமே கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துதான். இதனை அவர் உலகத்தில் இருக்கையில் அவர்களுக்குத் திட்டமும் தெளிவுமாகக் கூறினார்.
"நான் உலகத்திற்கு ஒளியாயிருக்கிறேன், என்னைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவன் இருளிலே நடவாமல் ஜீவஒளியை அடைந்திருப்பான் என்றார்." ( யோவான் 8 : 12 )
"நானே வழியும் சத்தியமும் ஜீவனுமாயிருக்கிறேன்; என்னாலேயல்லாமல் ஒருவனும் பிதாவினிடத்தில் வரான்." ( யோவான் 14 : 6 ) என்றார்.
ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, உமது ஒளியையும் சத்தியத்தையும் அனுப்பியருளும் அவைகள் என்னை நடத்தி, உமது பரிசுத்த பர்வதத்திற்கும் உமது வாசஸ்தலங்களுக்கும் என்னைக் கொண்டுபோவதாக. என்று பழைய ஏற்பாட்டுக்கால பக்தன் வேண்டியதற்கு பதிலளிப்பதுபோல கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை பிதாவாகிய தேவன் அனுப்பியுள்ளார். அவரே நம்மை பரிசுத்த விண்ணக சீயோன் பர்வதத்துக்கு நேராக நம்மை வழிநடத்திட முடியும்.
பழைய ஏற்பாட்டுக்கால மக்கள் கர்த்தரை வேண்டினாலும், புதிய ஏற்பாட்டுக்கால மக்களாகிய நம்மைப்போல அவர்களுக்கு கர்த்தரைப் பற்றி ஒரு தெளிவு இல்லை. கர்த்தர் என்பவர் நன்மை செய்பவர்களை அரவணைக்கவும் தீமை செய்பவர்களைத் தண்டிக்கவும்கூடிய ஒரு வல்லமையான சக்தி என்று எண்ணிக்கொண்டனர். ஒருவித அச்சத்துடனேயே கர்த்தரைப் பார்த்தனர். அதாவது தேவனைப்பற்றிய தெளிவான புரிதல் அவர்களுக்கு இல்லை. ஆனால் அவர்கள் தேவனை அன்பு செய்தனர், வேண்டுதல் செய்தனர்.
இயேசு கிறிஸ்துதான் கர்த்தரை அப்பா என்று அழைக்கக் கற்றுக்கொடுத்தார். அதாவது, கர்த்தர் என்பவர் எங்கோ இருக்கும் அந்நியர் அல்ல; அவர் நமது தகப்பன் எனும் புரிதலைக் கொடுத்தவர் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துதான்.
அதனால்தான் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து சமாரிய பெண்ணிடம், "நீங்கள் அறியாததைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறீர்கள்; நாங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறதைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறோம்." ( யோவான் 4 : 22 ) என்று கூறினார். இன்றும் இதுபோல அறியாமல் ஒளியை வணங்கக்கூடிய மக்கள் இருக்கின்றனர். விளக்குகளையும், சூரியனையும் பலர் வணங்குகின்றனர். காரணம் கடவுள் ஒளியாக இருப்பதாக எண்ணுவதால்தான் அவர்கள் ஒளியை வணங்குகின்றனர். ஆனால், தேவன் ஒளியாய் இருந்தாலும் எல்லா ஒளியும் தேவனல்ல என்பதே உண்மை.
நமது தேவன் வெறும் ஒளியல்ல. அவரைக்குறித்து நாம், "ஒருவராய், சாவாமையுள்ளவரும், சேரக்கூடாத ஒளியில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிறவரும், மனுஷரில் ஒருவரும் கண்டிராதவரும், காணக்கூடாதவருமாயிருக்கிறவர்" ( 1 தீமோத்தேயு 6 : 16 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம்.
இன்றைய தியானம் கூறுவதன்படி தேவன் அனுப்பிய இந்த வழியும் சத்தியமும் ஜீவனுமான ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து மட்டுமே நம்மை நடத்தி, அவரது பரிசுத்த சீயோன் பர்வதத்திற்கும் அவரது விண்ணக வாசஸ்தலங்களுக்கும் நம்மைக் கொண்டுபோகமுடியும். எனவே, இன்று நாம், "உமது வெளிச்சத்தையும் உமது சத்தியத்தையும் அனுப்பியருளும்; அவைகள் என்னை நடத்தி, உமது பரிசுத்த பர்வதத்திற்கும் உமது வாசஸ்தலங்களுக்கும் என்னைக் கொண்டுபோவதாக" என்று ஜெபிப்பதற்குப் பதில் ஏற்கெனவே நமக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டுள்ள மெய்யான ஒளியும், வழியும், சத்தியமுமான இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை பின்பற்றினால் போதும்.

"AATHAVAN"

"O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles." (Psalm 43:3)
Our Lord Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." Yet, around 750 years before the birth of Christ, true believers had already caught a glimpse of this. Yes, the light, the way, and the truth that the Old Testament Jews prayed for—without fully knowing Him—was none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. While He was in the world, He stated this to them clearly and plainly:
"I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12)
"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)
Yes, beloved, God the Father sent the Lord Jesus Christ as an answer to the prayer of the Old Testament saint who cried out, "O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles." He alone can lead us directly to the holy heavenly Mount Zion.
Even though the people of the Old Testament prayed to the Lord, they did not have a clear understanding of Him as we do in the New Testament era. They viewed the Lord as a powerful force who embraces those who do good and punishes those who do evil. They looked upon Him with a measure of fear; that is, they lacked a clear understanding of God. Yet, they loved Him and prayed to Him.
It was Jesus Christ who taught us to call God "Abba, Father." Jesus is the One who gave us the revelation that God is not a distant stranger somewhere far off, but our own Father.
That is why Jesus said to the Samaritan woman:
"Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship..." (John 4:22)
Even today, there are people who worship light without knowing Him. Many worship lamps and the sun, assuming that since God is light, all light must be worshipped. But while God is light, the truth is that not all light is God.
Our God is not merely physical light. Concerning Him, we read:
"Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see..." (1 Timothy 6:16)
As today’s meditation reminds us, only the Lord Jesus Christ—the Way, the Truth, and the Life sent by God—can guide us and bring us to His holy Mount Zion and His heavenly dwelling places. Therefore, today, instead of praying, "O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me...", it is enough for us to follow Jesus Christ, the true Light, Way, and Truth who has already been sent to us.
