🦋 Meditation verse - 2 கொரிந்தியர் 1 : 20 / 2 Corinthians 1:20

"ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1987

"எங்களால் தேவனுக்கு மகிமையுண்டாகும்படி, தேவனுடைய வாக்குத்தத்தங்களெல்லாம் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் ஆம் என்றும், அவருக்குள் ஆமென் என்றும் இருக்கின்றனவே." ( 2 கொரிந்தியர் 1 : 20 )

தேர்தலில் வெற்றிபெற அரசியல்வாதிகள் பல்வேறு வாக்குறுதிகளை  மக்களுக்கு அளிப்பார்கள். அவைகளில் பல நிறைவேற்றவே முடியாதவையாக இருக்கும். ஆனாலும் மக்களிடம் பொய்யான வாக்குறுதிகளை அளித்து ஆட்சியைப்பிடிக்க முயல்வார்கள்.  வெற்றிபெற்றபின் இந்த வாக்குறுதிகளை நிறைவேற்றுவார்களா என்பது கேள்விக்குறிதான். 

காரணம், இந்த அரசியல்வாதிகள் அவர்களின் உள்ளத்திலிருந்து பேசுவதில்லை. எப்படியாவது மக்களது மனதினை கவர்ந்து வாக்குகளைப்பெற்று ஆட்சியைப் பிடிக்கவேண்டும் என்பதுதான் அவர்களது சுயநல எண்ணம்.  ஆனால் நமது தேவனுக்கு அப்படி மக்களை ஏமாற்றிப் பிழைக்கவேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை. மனிதர்களாகிய நாம்தான் அவருக்கு உண்மையில்லாதவர்களாக வாழ்ந்து வருகின்றோம். ஆம், "நாம் உண்மையில்லாதவர்களாயிருந்தாலும், அவர் உண்மையுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறார்; அவர் தம்மைத்தாம் மறுதலிக்கமாட்டார்." ( 2 தீமோத்தேயு 2 : 13 )

இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் நாம், "தேவனுக்கு மகிமையுண்டாகும்படி, தேவனுடைய வாக்குத்தத்தங்களெல்லாம் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குள் ஆம் என்று இருக்கின்றது" என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். அதாவது, தனது வாக்குத்தத்தங்கள் நிறைவேறும்போது தேவன் நம்மால் மகிமையடைகின்றார் என்று இந்த வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. பொய் வாக்குறுதிகளைக் கொடுக்கும் அரசியல்வாதி அவமானம் அடைகின்றான்; வாக்குறுதிகளை நிறைவேற்றும் தேவனோ நம்மால் மகிமை அடைகின்றார். 

மேலும், இந்த உலகினில் மனிதர்கள் தாங்கள் அளிக்கும் வாக்குறுதிகள்  நிறைவேற்றிடவேண்டுமென்று நினைத்தாலும் சில வேளைகளில் நிறைவேற்றமுடியாமல் போய்விடக்கூடும். காரணம், வாக்களித்த இவர்களது வாழ்க்கைச் சூழல் சிலவேளைகளில் மாறிவிடலாம். ஆனால் தேவன் அப்படியல்ல, அவர் காலத்தையும் நேரத்தையும் மாற்றுகின்றவர். இல்லாதவைகளை இருக்கும்படிச் செய்பவர். தான் வாக்குத்தத்தம் செய்ததை எந்தச் சூழ்நிலையிலும் நிறைவேற்ற வல்லவராகவே இருக்கின்றார். "தேவன் வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணினதை நிறைவேற்ற வல்லவராயிருக்கிறார் என்று முழு நிச்சயமாய் நம்பி, தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தி, விசுவாசத்தில் வல்லவனானான்." ( ரோமர் 4 : 21 ) என்று ஆபிரகாமைப்பற்றி நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, வேதாகமத்தில் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான தேவ வாக்குத்தத்தங்கள் உண்டு. இவைகளில் சில தனி மனிதர்களுக்கு குறிப்பிட்டக்  காலத்தில் தேவனால் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவை; சில வாக்குத்தத்தங்களோ கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசித்து ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் அனைவருக்கும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவை. மேலும் சில வேளைகளில் தேவன் நம்மோடு இடைப்பட்டு  நமக்குச் சில வாக்குத்தத்தங்களைத் தரலாம். இத்தகைய வாக்குத்தத்தங்களைக்குறித்து நாம் சந்தேகப்படத் தேவையில்லை, நிச்சயமாக அவை நமக்கு நிறைவேறும்.

"எனது தேவன் எனக்கு இப்படி வாக்களித்துள்ளனர்; அதனை அவர் எனது வாழ்வில் நிச்சயமாக நிறைவேற்றுவார்" என நாம் அந்த வாக்குத்தகங்களை விசுவாசித்து நம்பிக்கையுடன் அறிக்கையிடலாம். எனவேதான் எபிரெய நிரூப ஆசிரியர் கூறுகின்றார், "அல்லாமலும், நம்முடைய நம்பிக்கையை அறிக்கையிடுகிறதில் அசைவில்லாமல் உறுதியாயிருக்கக்கடவோம்; வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணினவர் உண்மையுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறாரே." ( எபிரெயர் 10 : 23 ) என்று. 

வேதாகமத்தின் எந்த வாக்குத்தத்தமும் வீண் வார்த்தையோ ஏமாற்றோ அல்ல. அவை ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனின் வார்த்தைகள். எனவே அவை நிச்சயமாக நிறைவேறும். அவருடைய வாக்குத்தத்தங்களெல்லாம் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் ஆம் என்றும், அவருக்குள் ஆமென் என்றும் இருக்கின்றன.

"For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore, also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us." — 2 Corinthians 1:20

To win elections, politicians make various promises to the people. Many of these are completely impossible to fulfil. Yet, they try to capture power by giving false assurances to the public. Whether they will actually fulfil these promises after winning remains a massive question mark.

The reason is that these politicians do not speak from their hearts. Their only selfish intent is to somehow capture the minds of the people, secure their votes, and come to power. But our God has no need to deceive people to sustain Himself. In reality, it is we, as human beings, who live unfaithfully toward Him. Indeed, Scripture reminds us:

"If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself." — 2 Timothy 2:13

In today’s meditation verse, we read that "to the glory of God, all the promises of God are 'Yes' in Christ Jesus." This means that God is glorified through us when His promises are fulfilled. While a politician who gives false promises faces shame, the God who fulfils His promises is glorified by us.

Furthermore, even if people in this world genuinely intend to keep the promises they make, there are times when they are simply unable to do so. This is because their life circumstances can suddenly change. But God is not like that. He is the One who changes times and seasons. He is the One who calls into being that which does not exist. Under any circumstance, He remains fully capable of fulfilling what He has promised. Regarding Abraham, we read:

"and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform." — Romans 4:21

Yes, dearly beloved, there are thousands of God's promises in the Bible. Some of these were given by God to specific individuals at specific times; other promises are given to everyone who believes in and accepts Christ. Furthermore, there are moments when God personally speaks into our lives and gives us specific promises. We do not need to doubt such promises; they will surely be fulfilled for us.

We can confidently and faithfully declare, "My God has promised this to me, and He will surely fulfil it in my life." That is why the author of Hebrews encourages us:

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;" — Hebrews 10:23

Not a single promise in the Bible is a vain word or a deception. They are the words of the living God. Therefore, they will surely come to pass. All His promises are Yes in Jesus Christ, and through Him, Amen.
