🦋 Meditation verse - யோவான் 8 : 36 / John 8:36

 தியானம் - 2015

"ஆதவன்"ஆகஸ்ட் 15 சனி 2026

"ஆகையால் குமாரன் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கினால் மெய்யாகவே விடுதலையாவீர்கள்." ( யோவான் 8 : 36 )

இன்று நமது நாடு சுதந்திரம் பெற்ற மகிழ்ச்சியினைக் கொண்டாடிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றோம். சுதந்திரம் என்றாலே மகிழ்ச்சிதான். ஆனால் சுதந்திரம் என்று சொல்லும்போது இதுவரை நாம் யாருக்கோ அடிமையாக இருந்துள்ளோம் என்பதும் நினைவுக்கு வரும். ஆம் நாம் ஆங்கிலேயருக்கு அடிமைகளாக இருந்தோம். இந்தநாளில் அந்த அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை பெற்றுள்ளோம்.

இதுபோலவே ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்விலும் நடக்கின்றது. ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் நம்மை அடிமைப்படுத்தி வைத்திருப்பது நமது பாவ பழக்கங்களும் பாவ எண்ணங்களும்தான். இந்தப் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை பெறுவதே ஆவிக்குரிய விடுதலை. இந்த விடுதலையை நமக்குத் தரவே மீட்பராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உலகத்தில் வந்தார். 

ஒருவனுக்கு விடுதலை பெறவேண்டும் எனும் எண்ணம் வரவேண்டுமானால் முதலில் தான் அடிமையாக இருப்பதை அவன் உணரவேண்டியது அவசியம்.  எனவேதான்  யூதர்களுக்கு அவர்களது பாவ அடிமைத்தனத்தைக் குறித்து இயேசு உணர்த்தினார். ஆனால்,  "அவர்கள் அவருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நாங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியாயிருக்கிறோம், நாங்கள் ஒருக்காலும் ஒருவனுக்கும் அடிமைகளாயிருக்கவில்லை; விடுதலையாவீர்களென்று நீர் எப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறீர் என்றார்கள்." ( யோவான் 8 : 33 ) அவர்கள் தங்களை ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததி என்று கூறிக்கொள்வதில் பெருமைகொண்டிருந்தனர்.

இன்று பல கிறிஸ்தவர்களும் இந்த யூதர்களைப்போலவே எண்ணிக்கொள்கின்றனர். தாங்கள் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக இருப்பதால்  பாவங்களிலிருந்து விடுதலை பெற்றுவிட்டதாக எண்ணிக்கொள்கின்றனர்.  அன்பானவர்களே, கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக இருப்பது மட்டும் நம்மைப் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுவிக்காது. நாம் தனிப்பட்ட விதத்தில் சத்தியமான குமாரனாகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை அறியவேண்டும்; அவரை விசுவாசிக்கவேண்டும். இதனால்தான் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து, "சத்தியத்தையும் அறிவீர்கள், சத்தியம் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கும் " ( யோவான் 8 : 32 ) என்று  கூறினார். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, "ஆகையால் குமாரன் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கினால் மெய்யாகவே விடுதலையாவீர்கள்." ( யோவான் 8 : 36 ) குமாரன் தரும் இந்த விடுதலையினைப் பெறும்போது நாம் பாவம் செய்ய முடியாது. காரணம், அந்த அடிமைத்தனம் கிறிஸ்துவால் முறிக்கப்படுகின்றது. 

மட்டுமல்ல, பாவத்துக்கு அடிமையாகி சாத்தானின் பிடியிலிருந்து விடுதலை பெற்ற நமக்குள் கிறித்து வந்து தங்குகின்றார். இதனால் நமது சரீரமானது பாவத்தினிமித்தம் மரித்ததாயும், ஆவியானது நீதியினிமித்தம் ஜீவனுள்ளதாயும் இருக்கும்.

"அன்றியும் இயேசுவை மரித்தோரிலிருந்து எழுப்பினவருடைய ஆவி உங்களில் வாசமாயிருந்தால், கிறிஸ்துவை மரித்தோரிலிருந்து எழுப்பினவர் உங்களில் வாசமாயிருக்கிற தம்முடைய ஆவியினாலே சாவுக்கேதுவான உங்கள் சரீரங்களையும் உயிர்ப்பிப்பார்." ( ரோமர் 8 : 11 ) ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே சாவுக்கேதுவான நமது உடலானது கிறிஸ்துவால் உயிப்பிக்கப்படுவதே விடுதலை வாழ்வின் சிறப்பு. இந்த விடுதலையினை பெற்றுக்கொள்ள முயல்வோம்.

முதலில் நாம் பாவத்துக்கு அடிமைகள் என்பதனை உணர்வோம்; அந்த அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து விடுதலைபெற ஆசைகொள்வோம்; விடுதலை அளிக்கும் குமாரனாகிய கிறிஸ்து நமக்குள்வர நமது பாவங்களை அவரிடம் அறிக்கையிட்டு மன்னிப்பை வேண்டுவோம். குமாரன் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கினால் மெய்யாகவே விடுதலையாவீர்கள்.

"AATHAVAN" | August 15 | Saturday, 2026

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." — John 8:36 (KJV)

Today we are celebrating the joy of our nation's Independence Day. The very word "freedom" brings joy. However, speaking of freedom also reminds us that we were once enslaved to someone. Yes, we were slaves to the British, and on this day, we obtained freedom from that bondage.

A similar thing happens in our spiritual life. In the spiritual realm, what keeps us in bondage is our sinful habits and sinful thoughts. Obtaining deliverance from this sin is true spiritual freedom. It is to grant us this freedom that Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, came into the world.

For a person to desire freedom, they must first realize that they are in bondage. That is why Jesus confronted the Jews concerning their bondage to sin.

"They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?" — John 8:33 (KJV)

They took great pride in calling themselves Abraham's descendants.

Today, many Christians think just like these Jews. They believe that simply because they are Christians, they have been set free from sin. Dearly beloved, merely being a Christian does not liberate us from sin. We must personally know Jesus Christ, the Truth and the Son, and believe in Him. That is why Jesus Christ said:

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." — John 8:32 (KJV)

Yes, dear ones:

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." — John 8:36 (KJV)

When we receive this freedom given by the Son, we cannot remain in sin, because that bondage is broken by Christ.

Not only that, but Christ comes to abide within us after we are delivered from the grip of Satan and the slavery of sin. Consequently, our body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." — Romans 8:11 (KJV)

Yes, beloved, the glory of a liberated life is that our mortal bodies are quickened by Christ. Let us strive to receive this freedom.

First, let us acknowledge that we are slaves to sin; let us desire freedom from that bondage; and to invite Christ, the Son who liberates us, into our lives, let us confess our sins to Him and seek His forgiveness. If the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
