Meditation verse - 1 யோவான் 3 : 1 / 1 John 3:1

 💥"ஆதவன்" 🌳தியானம் - எண் 1921

📆2026 மே 12, செவ்வாய்      

"நாம் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளென்று அழைக்கப்படுவதினாலே பிதாவானவர் நமக்குப் பாராட்டின அன்பு எவ்வளவு பெரிதென்று பாருங்கள்; உலகம் அவரை அறியாதபடியினாலே நம்மையும் அறியவில்லை." ( 1 யோவான்  3 : 1 )

இந்த உலகத்தில் ஒருவர் முதலமைச்சரின் மகன் / மகள், பிரதமரின் மகன் / மகள் அல்லது பிரபல மருத்துவரின் மகன் அல்லது மகள் என்று கூறிக்கொள்வதைப் பெருமையாக எண்ணுகின்றனர். உலக மக்களுக்கு அது பெருமையான காரியம்தான். ஆனால் தேவன் நம்மைத் தனது சொந்த பிள்ளைகளாக எண்ணி நடத்துகின்றார் என்பதே நமது மேன்மை.  விசுவாசிகளாகிய நாம்  அவரது பிள்ளைகள். நாம் அவரது மகனாகவும் மகளாகவும் இருக்கின்றோம். இப்படி "நாம் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளென்று அழைக்கப்படுவதினாலே பிதாவானவர் நமக்குப் பாராட்டின அன்பு எவ்வளவு பெரிதென்று பாருங்கள்" என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, தேவன் நம்மேல் வைத்த அன்பினால் நம்மைத் தமது பிள்ளைகளாகத் தெரிந்தெடுத்துள்ளார். தனது மேலானக் கிருபையினால் நமது பாவங்களை அவர் மன்னித்து தமக்குச் சொந்த மக்களாகத் தெரிந்தெடுத்துள்ளார். இதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல்,  "கிருபையினாலே விசுவாசத்தைக் கொண்டு இரட்சிக்கப்பட்டீர்கள்; இது உங்களால் உண்டானதல்ல, இது தேவனுடைய ஈவு" ( எபேசியர் 2 : 8 ) என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

ஆனால் சாதாரண மக்களுக்கு இதன் மகிமையோ மேன்மையோ தெரியாது. அவர்கள் பிரபலமான மனிதர்களின் பிள்ளைகளை அறிவார்கள் ஆனால் தேவ பிள்ளைகளை அறிவதில்லை. காரணம் அவர்கள் தேவனையே அறியாதவர்கள்; பின்னர் எப்படி தேவனது பிள்ளைகளை அறிவார்கள்? இதனையே இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் "உலகம் அவரை அறியாதபடியினாலே நம்மையும் அறியவில்லை" என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

மட்டுமல்ல, இப்படி நாம் தேவனது பிள்ளைகளாக இருப்பதன் பயன் என்ன என்பதனை அப்போஸ்தலரான யோவான் தொடர்ந்து எழுதும்போது கூறுகின்றார், "அவர்மேல் இப்படிப்பட்ட நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்கிறவனெவனும், அவர் சுத்தமுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறதுபோல, தன்னையும் சுத்திகரித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறான்." ( 1 யோவான்  3 : 3 ) அதாவது,இப்படித் தேவனது பிள்ளைகளாக நாம் இருப்போமானால் தேவனைப்போல் நாமும் சுத்தமுள்ளவர்களாக வாழ முடிகின்றது. 

இது எப்படி என்றால், மேலே நாம் முதலில் பார்த்த உதாரணங்களில் கூறப்பட்ட பிரபலமான மனிதர்கள் தங்களது பிள்ளைகளும் தங்களைப்போல எதிர்காலத்தில் வளரவேண்டும் என்பதற்காக அவர்களுக்கு உதவிகள் செய்வார்களோ அதுபோல தேவன் தனது பிள்ளைகளும் தன்னைப்போல பரிசுத்தமுள்ளவர்களாக வாழவேண்டுமென்று உதவி செய்வதுதான். 

பிரபலமான மனிதர்களின் பிள்ளைகள் என்று கூறப்படுவது மற்றவர்களுக்குப் பெருமையாக இருக்கலாம் ஆனால் நமக்கோ, நாம் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகள் என்று கூறிக்கொள்வதில்தான் பெருமை உள்ளது. நாம் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளென்று அழைக்கப்படுவதினாலே பிதாவானவர் நமக்குப் பாராட்டின அன்பு எவ்வளவு பெரிதென்று நாம் எண்ணிப்பார்த்து அவருக்கு நன்றியுள்ளவர்களாக வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம். 

உலகம் நம்மை அறியவேண்டும், நாம் பிரபலமானவர்களாக மாறவேண்டும் என்று விரும்பி குறுக்கு வழியில் சென்று நம்மை நாமே உயர்த்திட விரும்பாமல் வாழ்வோம். பொறுமையாக அவருக்கு அடங்கிய வாழ்க்கை வாழ்வோம். "ஆகையால், ஏற்றகாலத்திலே தேவன் உங்களை உயர்த்தும்படிக்கு, அவருடைய பலத்த கைக்குள் அடங்கியிருங்கள்." ( 1 பேதுரு 5 : 6 )

தன்னை எல்லோரும் அறியவேண்டும் என்று வலுக்கட்டாயமாக தேவன் தன்னை யாரிடமும் திணிப்பதில்லை. தன்னை அறிய தேவன் கூறியுள்ள ஒரே வழி, தாழ்மையுடன் நமது பாவங்களை அவரிடம் அறிகையிட்டு மனம்  திரும்புவதுதான். அப்படி நாம் மனம் திரும்பும்போது தேவனது அன்புக்குரிய மக்களாக மாறுகின்றோம்; அவரது இரக்கத்தையும் பராமரிப்பையும் பெறுகின்றோம்.  நாம் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளென்று அழைக்கப்படுவது எவ்வளவு பெரிதென்று எண்ணிப் பாருங்கள்!!

💥 "AATHAVAN" 🌳 Meditation – No. 1921

"See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him." (1 John 3:1)

In this world, people consider it a matter of great pride to identify themselves as the son or daughter of a Chief Minister, a Prime Minister, or a famous doctor. To the people of the world, such status is indeed prestigious. However, our true glory lies in the fact that God considers us His own children and treats us as such. As believers, we are His children; we are His sons and daughters. This is why today’s meditation verse exclaims, "See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God."

Yes, dearly beloved, God has chosen us as His children because of the immense love He has for us. By His supreme grace, He has forgiven our sins and selected us to be His own people. The Apostle Paul affirms this, saying:

"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8)

Ordinary people, however, do not recognize the glory or the excellence of this divine relationship. They know the children of famous personalities, but they do not recognize the children of God. The reason is simple: they do not know God Himself. If they do not know the Father, how can they know His children? This is precisely what we read in today’s verse: "The world does not know us, because it did not know Him."

Furthermore, the Apostle John explains the practical outcome of being God’s children:

"And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." (1 John 3:3)

In other words, if we are truly children of God, we are enabled to live a life of purity, just as God is pure.

Think of it this way: Just as the famous people mentioned in our earlier examples provide help and resources so their children can grow up to be like them, God assists His children so that they may live a life of holiness, reflecting His own nature.

While others may find pride in earthly lineage, our pride is found solely in calling ourselves children of God. It is essential that we reflect on how great a love the Father has showered upon us by calling us His children, and in response, live our lives with deep gratitude toward Him.

Let us not live with a desire for the world to recognize us or a craving for fame that leads us down "shortcuts" to self-exaltation. Instead, let us live a life of patient submission to Him.

"Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time." (1 Peter 5:6)

God does not force Himself upon anyone to be known. The only way He has provided for us to know Him is through humility—confessing our sins to Him and repenting. When we repent, we become the beloved people of God, receiving His mercy and providential care.

Consider how great it is that we are called the children of God!
