🦋 Meditation verse - ரூத் 1 : 16 / Ruth 1:16

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1958

ஜூன் 18,  வியாழன் 2026   

அதற்கு ரூத்: "நான் உம்மைப்பின்பற்றாமல் உம்மைவிட்டுத் திரும்பிப் போவதைக்குறித்து, என்னோடே பேசவேண்டாம்; நீர் போகும் இடத்திற்கு நானும் வருவேன்; நீர் தங்கும் இடத்திலே நானும் தங்குவேன்; உம்முடைய ஜனம் என்னுடைய ஜனம்; உம்முடைய தேவன் என்னுடைய தேவன்." ( ரூத் 1 : 16 )

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் ரூத் தனது மாமியார் நகோமியிடம் கூறிய விசுவாச வார்த்தைகளாகும்.

தன்னிடம் வைராக்கியமான அன்புடன் செயல்படுபவர்களை நமது தேவன் மகிமைப்படுத்தாமல் விடுவதில்லை. ஒருவேளை நமது காலத்தில் நாம் இதனை உணராமல் இருந்தாலும் நமது பின் சந்ததிகள் இதன் ஆசீர்வாதத்தினைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்வார்கள். இதனையே நாம் ரூத்தின் வாழ்க்கை மூலம் அறிந்து கொள்கின்றோம். 

ரூத் மோவாப் தேசத்தைச் சார்ந்தவள்.  அவள் கர்த்தரை அறிந்த இனத்தவளல்ல. ஆனால் அவள் பஞ்சம்பிழைக்க அந்த நாட்டில் குடியேறிய   இஸ்ரவேலனாகிய நகோமியின் மகனை மணமுடித்ததால் நகோமியின் மருமகள் ஆனாள். நகோமியின் வாழ்க்கை, அவள் கர்த்தர்மேல் கொண்டிருந்த பக்தி, கர்த்தர் அவளது வாழ்வில் செய்த மேலான காரியங்கள் இவைகளைப் பார்த்திருந்த ரூத், கர்த்தர்மேல் பற்றுகொண்டு அவரையே தனது தேவனாகப் பற்றிக்கொண்டாள்.  

அந்த அன்பினால் அவள் தனது இனத்தையும் தான் வணங்கிவந்த தெய்வங்களையும் அறவே விட்டுவிடத் துணித்துவிட்டாள். எனவேதான் தனது மாமியாரிடம், "நீர் போகும் இடத்திற்கு நானும் வருவேன்; நீர் தங்கும் இடத்திலே நானும் தங்குவேன்; உம்முடைய ஜனம் என்னுடைய ஜனம்; உம்முடைய தேவன் என்னுடைய தேவன்" என்று அறிக்கையிட்டாள். அவ்வாறே நகோமியுடன் இஸ்ரவேல் தேசத்துக்குத் திரும்பிவந்தாள். 

இப்படித் தன்னைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, தனது இனத்தையும், தான் வணங்கிவந்த தெய்வங்களையும் விட்டுவிட்டு வந்த ரூத்தினை தேவன் கைவிடவில்லை. அவளது வழிமரபில் மீட்பராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைப் பிறக்கச் செய்தார். ஆம், இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் மூதாதையரின் பெயர் பட்டியலில் ரூத்தும் இணைந்துகொண்டாள். இதனை நாம், "சல்மோன் போவாசை ராகாபினிடத்தில் பெற்றான்; போவாஸ் ஓபேதை ரூத்தினிடத்தில் பெற்றான்; ஓபேத் ஈசாயைப் பெற்றான்; ஈசாய் தாவீது ராஜாவைப் பெற்றான்; தாவீது ராஜா உரியாவின் மனைவியாயிருந்தவளிடத்தில் சாலொமோனைப் பெற்றான்;" ( மத்தேயு 1 : 5, 6 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். இப்படி ரூத் தாவீது ராஜாவின் பூட்டியானாள்.  

இதனை நாம் ரூத் புத்தகத்திலும், "அயல்வீட்டுக்காரிகள் நகோமிக்கு ஒரு ஆண்பிள்ளை பிறந்தது என்று வாழ்த்தி, அதற்கு ஓபேத் என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்; அவன் தாவீதின் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாயின் தகப்பன்." ( ரூத் 4 : 17 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நாமும் கர்த்தருக்காக வைராக்கியமாகச் செயல்படும்போது அவரது ஆசீர்வாதத்தினைப் பெற்று மகிழ முடியும். ரூத்தினைபோல இன்று நாம் உலகத்துக்கு அறிமுகமில்லாதவர்களாக இருக்கலாம். ஆனால் தேவனுக்கு நாம் அறிமுகமில்லாதவர்களல்ல. நமது ஒவ்வொரு செயல்பாட்டினையும் தேவன் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றார். அவற்றுக்கான கைமாறினை அவர் நிச்சயமாகத் தருவார். 

"ஏனென்றால், உங்கள் கிரியையையும், நீங்கள் பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்ததினாலும் செய்து வருகிறதினாலும் தமது நாமத்திற்காகக் காண்பித்த அன்புள்ள பிரயாசத்தையும் மறந்துவிடுகிறதற்கு தேவன் அநீதியுள்ளவரல்லவே." ( எபிரெயர் 6 : 10 )

துன்பங்கள், சோதனைகள் நம்மை நெருக்கினாலும் கர்த்தர்மேலுள்ள அன்பில் குறைந்திடாமல் வைராக்கியமாக வாழ்வோம். தேவன் அவருக்காக நாம் செய்யும் நமது செயல்பாடுகளை ஒருபோதும் மறக்கமாட்டார். கைமாறுதராமல் இருக்கமாட்டார்.

"AATHAVAN" Meditation – 1958

June 18, Thursday 2026

But Ruth said, “Do not plead with me to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God." — Ruth 1:16

Today’s meditation verse features the words of faith spoken by Ruth to her mother-in-law, Naomi.

Our God never fails to honour those who act with zealous love toward Him. Even if we do not fully realize or experience this during our own lifetime, our future generations will inherit the blessings of it. This is the profound truth we learn through the life of Ruth.

Ruth was from the land of Moab. She did not belong to a people who originally knew the Lord. However, she became Naomi’s daughter-in-law by marrying the son of Naomi, an Israelite who had migrated to Moab to escape a famine. By closely observing Naomi’s life, her devotion to the Lord, and the great things the Lord had done in her life, Ruth developed a deep affection for the Lord and clung to Him as her own God.

Because of this love, she courageously resolved to completely leave behind her own people and the gods she used to worship. That is why she declared to her mother-in-law: "Where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God." True to her word, she returned to the land of Israel alongside Naomi.

God did not abandon Ruth, who chose Him and left her country and her ancestral gods behind. Instead, He chose her lineage to bring forth Jesus Christ, the Savior. Yes, Ruth was included in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. As we read in Scripture:

"Salmon fathered Boaz by Rahab, Boaz fathered Obed by Ruth, and Obed fathered Jesse. Jesse fathered David the king. David fathered Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah;" — Matthew 1:5–6

In this way, Ruth became the great-grandmother of King David. We read about this in the Book of Ruth as well:

"The neighbour women gave him a name, saying, 'A son has been born to Naomi!' So they named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David." — Ruth 4:17

Yes, dearly beloved, when we act with zeal and devotion for the Lord, we too can receive and rejoice in His blessings. Like Ruth, we might be completely unknown to the world today. But we are not unknown to God. God sees our every action, and He will surely reward us.

"For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having served and in still serving the saints." — Hebrews 6:10

Even when troubles and trials press hard against us, let us live with zeal, never allowing our love for the Lord to diminish. God will never forget what we do for Him, nor will He ever fail to reward us.
