🦋 Meditation verse - எபிரெயர் 3 : 18, 19 / Hebrews 3:18–19

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1732                                          ஆதவன் 04.11.2025 செவ்வாய்           

"பின்னும், என்னுடைய இளைப்பாறுதலில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லையென்று அவர் யாரைக்குறித்து ஆணையிட்டார்? கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்களைக் குறித்தல்லவா? ஆதலால், அவிசுவாசத்தினாலே அவர்கள் அதில் பிரவேசிக்கக்கூடாமற் போனார்களென்று பார்க்கிறோம்." ( எபிரெயர் 3 : 18, 19 )

நாம் தேவன் வாக்களித்துள்ள நித்திய ஜீவனைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டுமானால் தேவன்மேல் அசையாத விசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களாகவும் நமது விசுவாசத்தைச் செயல்கள்மூலம் காண்பிப்பவர்களாகவும்  இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். வெறுமனே தேவனை ஆராதிப்பதாலும்,  தேவன் அளிக்கும் பல்வேறு நன்மைகளையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதாலும்,  அதிசயங்களைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதாலும் நாம் நித்திய ஜீவனுக்குத் தகுதியாவதில்லை.  இந்தச் சத்தியத்தை தேவன் இன்றைய தியான வசனம் மூலம் நாம் புரிந்துகொள்ள விரும்புகின்றார். 

எகிப்திலிருந்து மோசே விடுவித்து அழைத்துவந்த இஸ்ரவேலரின் எண்ணிக்கை, மோசே மேற்கொண்ட முதலாவது கணக்கெடுக்கின்படி 6,01,730 ( எண்ணாகமம் 1 : 46 ). இந்த எண்ணிக்கையில் 20 வயதுக்கு மேற்பட்டு போர்புரிய பலமுள்ள மனிதர்கள்வரை அடங்குவர்.  இந்த மக்கள்முன்னர்தான் மோசேயைக்கொண்டு தேவன் பல்வேறு அதிசயங்களைச் செய்தார். அந்த அற்புதங்களையும், தேவன் மோசேயோடு பேசியதையும் இவர்கள் கண்டிருந்தனர். 

பின்னர் மோசே தேவன் வாக்களித்த கானான் தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப்பார்க்க இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின் பிரதிநிதிகளை அனுப்பினார். அவர்கள் மோசே கூறியபடி கானானுக்குச் சென்று நாற்பதுநாள் சுற்றிபார்த்துத் திரும்பினார்கள். அவர்களில் எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரன் காலேபும், நூனின் குமாரன் யோசுவாவும் மட்டுமே மோசேயிடமும் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களிடமும் நம்பிக்கையூட்டும் செய்தியைச் சொன்னார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்களோடு சென்று வந்த மற்றவர்கள், "அங்கே இராட்சதப் பிறவியான ஏனாக்கின் குமாரராகிய இராட்சதரையும் கண்டோம்; நாங்கள் எங்கள் பார்வைக்கு வெட்டுக்கிளிகளைப்போல் இருந்தோம், அவர்கள் பார்வைக்கும் அப்படியே இருந்தோம் என்று சொல்லி, இப்படி இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குள்ளே தாங்கள் சுற்றிப்பார்த்து வந்த தேசத்தைக்குறித்து துர்ச்செய்தி பரம்பச்செய்தார்கள்." ( எண்ணாகமம் 13 : 33 )

எனவே தேவன், "என் மகிமையையும், நான் எகிப்திலும் வனாந்தரத்திலும் செய்த என் அடையாளங்களையும் கண்டிருந்தும், என் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடாமல், இதனோடே பத்துமுறை என்னைப் பரீட்சைபார்த்த மனிதரில் ஒருவரும், அவர்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு நான் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தைக் காணமாட்டார்கள்; எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்கினவர்களில் ஒருவரும் அதைக் காணமாட்டார்கள்." ( எண்ணாகமம் 14 : 22, 23 )என்று கோபத்தில் கூறினார். மேலும், "எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரன் காலேபும், நூனின் குமாரன் யோசுவாவும் தவிர, மற்றவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் நான் உங்களைக் குடியேற்றுவேன் என்று ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை."  ( எண்ணாகமம் 14 : 30 ) என்றார். 

அதுபோலவே, மோசே இரண்டாம் முறை மக்கள்தொகை கணக்கிட்டபோது  6,01,730 ( எண்ணாகமம் 26 : 51) மக்கள் இருந்தனர். இவர்கள் அனைவரும் மோசேயின் முதலாம் கணக்கெடுப்பின்போது 20 வயதுக்குக் குறைவாக இருந்து அப்போது எண்ணப்படாதவர்கள் மற்றும் அவர்களுக்குப் பிறந்த பிள்ளைகள். இந்தக் கணக்கெடுப்பில் "முன்பு மோசேயும் ஆசாரியனாகிய ஆரோனும் சீனாய் வனாந்தரத்தில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை எண்ணும்போது இருந்தவர்களில் ஒருவரும் இவர்களுக்குள் இல்லை. வனாந்தரத்தில் சாகவே சாவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் அவர்களைக் குறித்துச்சொல்லியிருந்தார்; எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரனாகிய காலேபும் நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும் தவிர, வேறொருவரும் அவர்களில் மீதியாயிருக்கவில்லை." ( எண்ணாகமம் 26 : 64-65 )

இதனையே இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் எபிரேய நிருப ஆசிரியர் நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுகின்றார். தேவனது வார்த்தைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாத இஸ்ரவேலின் அவிசுவாசிகள் எப்படி கானானுக்குள் நுழைய முடியவில்லையோ அதுபோலவே ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின்மேல் பூரண விசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களாக இல்லாமல்; நமது விசுவாசத்தைச் செயல்களால் அறிக்கையிடாமல்  இஸ்ரவேலரைப்போல வெறுமனே ஆராதனையையும், அற்புத சாட்சிகளையும், அதிசயங்களையும் பார்த்துக்கொண்டும் அவைகளைத்தேடி ஓடிக்கொண்டுமிருப்போமானால் நாமும் நித்திய ஜீவனுக்குள் நுழைய முடியாதவர்களாக மாறிப்போவோம். 

அன்று தேவன்மேல் முழு விசுவாசம் கொண்டிருந்த "தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப் பார்க்கப்போன அந்த மனிதரில் நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும், எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரனாகிய காலேபும் மாத்திரம் உயிரோடிருந்தார்கள்." ( எண்ணாகமம் 14 : 38 ) அவர்கள் மட்டுமே கானானை சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்டார்கள். இன்றும் நமக்கு முன்மாதிரிகையாக இவர்களே இருக்கின்றனர்.

“And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.” — Hebrews 3:18–19 (NASB)

If we are to inherit the eternal life that God has promised, it is essential that we remain steadfast in faith toward Him and demonstrate that faith through our actions. Merely worshiping God, receiving His blessings, and experiencing His miracles are not sufficient to make us worthy of eternal life. God desires that we understand this truth through today’s Scripture portion.

When Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, the first census recorded 6,03,550 men who were able to go to war (Numbers 1:46). These were strong men above the age of twenty. Before their very eyes, God performed many signs and wonders through Moses. They witnessed the mighty works of the Lord and heard His voice speaking to Moses.

Later, Moses sent representatives from the tribes of Israel to explore the land of Canaan, which God had promised them. They went and spied out the land for forty days and returned. Of those who went, only Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun brought back a report of faith and encouragement to Moses and the people. But the others said:

“And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” — Numbers 13:32, 33 (NASB) Because of this unbelief, God said in His anger: “Certainly all the people who have seen My glory and My signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have put Me to the test these ten times and have not listened to My voice, shall by no means see the land which I swore to their fathers; nor shall any of those who were disrespectful to Me see it.” — Numbers 14:22–23 (NASB)

And again,

“You certainly shall not come into the land where I swore to settle you, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.” — Numbers 14:30 (NASB)

When Moses later took a second census, the number of people was 601,730 (Numbers 26:51). These were those who had been under twenty years of age during the first count or were born afterward.

“But among these there was not a single man from those who were counted by Moses and Aaron the priest, who had counted the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai. For the Lord had said to them, ‘They shall certainly die in the wilderness.’ So not a man of them was left except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.” — Numbers 26:64–65 (NASB)

The writer of Hebrews reminds us of this same truth in today’s meditation verse. Just as the unbelieving Israelites were unable to enter Canaan because of their disobedience, so also, if we are not fully faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ — if we do not demonstrate our faith through obedience and deeds — but merely remain as spectators of miracles, worship services, and testimonies, we too will fail to enter into eternal life.

In those days, the only two who stood firm in faith were Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

“But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive out of those men who went to spy out the land.” — Numbers 14:38 (NASB) They alone inherited the land of Canaan. Even today, they stand as enduring examples of unwavering faith before us.
