🦋 Meditation verse - ரோமர் 7 : 18 / Romans 7:18

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳

📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1904

🔆 2026 ஏப்ரல் 25, சனி      

"என்னிடத்தில், அதாவது, என் மாம்சத்தில், நன்மை வாசமாயிருக்கிறதில்லையென்று நான் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; நன்மை செய்யவேண்டுமென்கிற விருப்பம் என்னிடத்திலிருக்கிறது நன்மை செய்வதோ என்னிடத்திலில்லை." ( ரோமர் 7 : 18 )

பொதுவாக மனிதர்கள் எல்லோரிடமும் தவறு செய்யும்போது மனச்சாட்சியின் உறுத்தல் இருந்துகொண்டுதான் இருக்கும். ஆனால் சிலர் அவற்றை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கின்றனர். அப்படித் தங்களது தவறுகளை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் மனிதர்கள் சில வேளைகளில் அவற்றிலிருந்து விடுபட்டுப் புதிய வாழ்க்கை வாழவும் விரும்புகின்றனர். 

ஒவ்வொரு புதிய ஆண்டு துவக்கத்திலும் பலர் தங்களிடமுள்ள ஏதாவது ஒரு தீய பழக்கத்தை இந்த ஆண்டிலாவது விட்டுவிடவேண்டும் என்று விரும்புவதுண்டு. ஆனால், ஒரு சில நாட்களில் மீண்டும் அதே தவறுக்குள் விழுந்துவிடுவதும் உண்டு. இதுபோல, கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் பலரும் தவக்கால பிரசங்கங்களைக் கேட்கும்போது அல்லது ஏதாவது ஊழியர்களின் சிறப்புக் கூட்டங்களில் கலந்துகொள்ளும்போது இப்படிச் சில பாவப் பழக்கங்களை விட்டுவிட எண்ணுவதுண்டு. ஆனாலும் அந்த முடிவில் அவர்களால் நிலைத்து நிற்க முடிவதில்லை.  

இந்தப் போராட்டம் நமக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுலுக்கும்  இருந்தது. எனவேதான் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில்,  நன்மை செய்யவேண்டுமென்கிற விருப்பம் என்னிடத்திலிருக்கிறது நன்மை செய்வதோ என்னிடத்திலில்லை என்று கூறுகின்றார். மட்டுமல்ல, தான் செய்வது தனக்கே உடன்பாடில்லை எனும் பொருளில், "எப்படியெனில், நான் செய்கிறது எனக்கே சம்மதியில்லை; நான் விரும்புகிறதைச் செய்யாமல், நான் வெறுக்கிறதையே செய்கிறேன்." ( ரோமர் 7 : 15 ) என்கின்றார். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, மனித முயற்சியால் இந்தக் காரியத்திலிருந்து முழு விடுதலை பெறமுடியாது. நாம் நமது மனதில் பாவத்திலிருந்தும், தேவையில்லாத சில பழக்கவழக்கத்திலிருந்தும் விடுபட விரும்பலாம் ஆனால் அப்படி விடுபட நமது முயற்சி மட்டும் போதாது. தேவனுடைய பலமில்லாமல் மனித முயற்சியால் நம்மால் இவைகளிலிருந்து முழு விடுதலை பெறமுடியாது. 

"நானே திராட்சச்செடி, நீங்கள் கொடிகள். ஒருவன் என்னிலும் நான் அவனிலும் நிலைத்திருந்தால், அவன் மிகுந்த கனிகளைக் கொடுப்பான்; என்னையல்லாமல் உங்களால் ஒன்றும் செய்யக்கூடாது." ( யோவான் 15 : 5 ) என்று நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துக் கூறவியையா? 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே,  நாம் கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைக்கப்படாவிட்டால் ஒன்றும் செய்ய முடியாது. நன்மை செய்யவேண்டும் எனும் விருப்பம் நமக்குள் இருக்கலாம் ஆனால் நாம் கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைக்கப்படாவிட்டால் நம்மால் ஒன்றும் செய்ய முடியாது. காரணம், கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைக்கப்படும்போது தேவனுடைய ஆவியானவர் நமக்குள் வந்துவிடுகின்றார். அப்போது நாம் உடலின் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் இல்லாமல் ஆவியானவரின் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் இருப்போம்.  

இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் "நன்மை செய்யவேண்டுமென்கிற விருப்பம் என்னிடத்திலிருக்கிறது நன்மை செய்வதோ என்னிடத்திலில்லை" என்று கூறும் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் இந்த உண்மையினை அறிந்துகொண்டவராதலால் கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைக்கப்பட்டு, தேவனுடைய ஆவியானவர் நமக்குள் வரவேண்டியது அவசியம் என்று கூறுகின்றார். ஆம், அப்படி அவரோடு இணைக்கப்பட்டு பாவத்தை மேற்கொள்ளும்போது அவருடைய மக்களாகின்றோம். "தேவனுடைய ஆவி உங்களில் வாசமாயிருந்தால், நீங்கள் மாம்சத்துக்குட்பட்டவர்களாய் இராமல்  ஆவிக்குட்பட்டவர்களாய் இருப்பீர்கள். கிறிஸ்துவின் ஆவியில்லாதவன் அவருடையவனல்ல." ( ரோமர் 8 : 9 )

கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைக்கப்பட்டு அவரது ஆவியைப் பெற்றவர்கள்தான் பாவத்தை மேற்கொள்ளமுடியும்; அத்தகையவர்களுக்கு  நன்மை செய்யவேண்டுமென்கிற விருப்பமும் இருக்கும்  நன்மை செய்யவும் முடியும். அப்படி தேவ ஆவியைப் பெற்றவர்கள்தான் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள். இந்தக் கிறிஸ்துவின் ஆவியில்லாதவன் அவருடையவனல்ல.

"For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not." (Romans 7:18)

Generally, all human beings experience the pricking of conscience when they commit a mistake. Some choose to accept it. Those who acknowledge their faults often desire to break free from them and live a new life.

At the start of every New Year, many people desire to give up at least one bad habit. However, within a few days, they often fall back into the same struggle. Similarly, many Christians, while listening to Lenten sermons or attending special ministry meetings, intend to abandon certain sinful habits. Yet, they find themselves unable to stand firm in that decision.

This struggle was not unique to us; even the Apostle Paul experienced it. That is why, in today’s meditation verse, he says that the desire to do good is present within him, but the ability to carry it out is not. Furthermore, expressing that his own actions were contrary to his will, he says:

"For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate." (Romans 7:15)

Yes, dear ones, complete deliverance from this condition cannot be achieved through human effort alone. We may desire in our minds to be free from sin and unnecessary habits, but our own strength is insufficient. Without the strength of God, human effort cannot bring total liberation.

Did our Lord Jesus Christ not say:

"I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)

Beloved, if we are not grafted into Christ, we can do nothing. The desire to do good may be within us, but without being united with Christ, we lack the power to perform it. The reason is that when we are united with Christ, the Spirit of God comes to dwell within us. Then, we are no longer under the control of the flesh but under the control of the Spirit.

The Apostle Paul, who says in today’s verse, "the doing of the good is not [in me]," understood this truth deeply. He emphasizes the necessity of being joined with Christ so that the Spirit of God may enter us. When we are thus united with Him and overcome sin, we truly become His people.

"However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him." (Romans 8:9)

Only those who are united with Christ and have received His Spirit can overcome sin. Such people will not only have the desire to do good but will also have the power to do it. Those who have received the Spirit of God in this way are true Christians. He who does not have this Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.
