📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1895

🔆 2026 ஏப்ரல் 16, வியாழன்      

"அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்து, மிஸ்பாவுக்கும் சேணுக்கும் நடுவாக நிறுத்தி, இம்மட்டும் கர்த்தர் எங்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்தார் என்று சொல்லி, அதற்கு எபெனேசர் என்று பேரிட்டான்." ( 1 சாமுவேல் 7 : 12 )

சாமுவேல் தீர்க்கத்தரிசி ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்து, மிஸ்பாவுக்கும் சேணுக்கும் நடுவாக நிறுத்தியதுபோல, நமக்கும் நமது பிரச்சனைகளுக்கும், துன்பங்களுக்கும் நடுவாக கர்த்தரை நிறுத்தி வைக்கும்போது நமக்கு விடுதலை உண்டு. கர்த்தராகிய எபெனேசர் நமக்குத் தீர்வாக அமைவார். இதனையே இன்றைய தியான வசனம் நமக்கு நினைவுறுத்துகின்றது. 

அன்பான தேவ பிள்ளைகளே, ஒருவேளை நாம் நினைத்த பல காரியங்கள் நிறைவேறாமல் போயிருக்கலாம், பல்வேறு விண்ணப்பங்களை தேவனிடம் எழுப்பி ஜெபித்தும் பலனில்லாததுபோலத்  தெரியலாம். ஆனால், தேவன் நமக்காகச் செயல்பட்டுக்கொண்டிருப்பதை நாம் உணர்ந்துகொள்ள, அவர் இதுவரை நம்மைப் பாதுகாத்து வந்துள்ளதே சாட்சி. எத்தனையோ நெருக்கடிகள் வந்தும், வேதனைகள் தொடர்ந்தும் நாம் நிர்மூலமாகவில்லை. ஆம், இம்மட்டும் கர்த்தர் நமக்கு  உதவிசெய்துள்ளார்; எனவே இனிமேலும் உதவிடுவார். 

எபெனேசர் எனும் வார்த்தைக்கு இம்மட்டும் கர்த்தர் நமக்கு உதவிசெத்தார் என்பதே பொருள். இன்றும் அதே எபினேசர் நம்மோடு இருக்கின்றார் என்பதனை விசுவாசிக்கும்போது அவர் நமக்கு உதவி செய்திடுவார். 

இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு எதிராக பெலிஸ்தர் போரிட புறப்பட்டு வந்தபோது சாமுவேல் தீர்க்கத்தரிசி சர்வாங்கத் தகனபலி செலுத்திக்கொண்டிருந்தார். அவர் பெலிஸ்தரோடு போரிட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கவோ அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக போரிட புறப்படவோ இல்லை. ஆனால், எபினேசரான கர்த்தரே அவர்களுக்காகப் பெலிஸ்தியருக்கு எதிராகப் போராடினார். இதனை நாம், "சாமுவேல் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியைச் செலுத்துகையில், பெலிஸ்தர் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ண நெருங்கினார்கள்; கர்த்தர் மகா பெரிய இடிமுழக்கங்களைப் பெலிஸ்தர்மேல் அந்நாளிலே முழங்கப்பண்ணி, அவர்களைக் கலங்கடித்ததினால், அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாகப் பட்டு விழுந்தார்கள்." ( 1 சாமுவேல் 7 : 10 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். மட்டுமல்ல, "இந்தப்பிரகாரம் பெலிஸ்தர் அப்புறம் இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லையிலே வராதபடிக்குத் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டார்கள்" ( 1 சாமுவேல் 7 : 13 )

இந்தச் சம்பவம் நமக்கு ஒரு உண்மையினை உணர்த்துகின்றது. பெலிஸ்தர் போரிட வந்தபோது, சாமுவேல் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியைச் செலுத்திக்கொண்டிருந்தார் என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.   நாமும் இதுபோல நம்மைத்  தேவனுக்குமுன் சர்வாங்கப்  பலியாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து அவரை ஆராதிப்போமானால் எபினேசரான அவர் நமக்கும்  இதுபோல எதிரிகளான பிரச்சனைகள், துன்பங்கள், வியாதிகள் இவைகளைத் துரத்தி அவை நமது எல்லையில் வராதபடிச் செய்வார்.   

இன்று புதிய ஏற்பாட்டு மக்களாகிய நாம் சாமுவேலைபோல சர்வாங்கத் தகனபலியாக காளைகளையும் ஆடுகளையும் செலுத்தவேண்டியதில்லை. நம்மையே அவருக்கு உகந்த பலியாகச் செலுத்தி ஆராதிக்கவேண்டும். "அப்படியிருக்க, சகோதரரே, நீங்கள் உங்கள் சரீரங்களைப் பரிசுத்தமும் தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமுமான ஜீவபலியாக ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கவேண்டுமென்று, தேவனுடைய இரக்கங்களை முன்னிட்டு உங்களை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறேன்; இதுவே நீங்கள் செய்யத்தக்க புத்தியுள்ளஆராதனை." ( ரோமர் 12 : 1 ) என்று பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர் நமக்கு அறிவுறுத்தவில்லையா? 

பிரச்சனைகளும் துன்பங்களும் ஏற்படும்போது அவைகளையே நோக்கிப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்காமல், எப்படி நெருங்கிவரும் பெலிஸ்தியரை நோக்கிப்பார்க்காமல் கர்த்தரையே  சாமுவேல் நோக்கிப்பார்த்தாரோ அதுபோல நம்மையே தகன பலியாக தேவனுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுப்போம். நமக்கும் நமது பிரச்சனைகளுக்கும், துன்பங்களுக்கும் நடுவாக கர்த்தரை நிறுத்தி வைப்போம்.  இம்மட்டும் உதவின எபினேசராகிய கர்த்தர்  இனிமேலும் உதவிடுவார்.

📖 AATHAVAN Bible Meditation – No. 1895

🔆 April 16, 2026, Thursday

"Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying, 'Thus far the Lord has helped us.'" (1 Samuel 7:12)

Just as the prophet Samuel took a stone and placed it between Mizpah and Shen, there is true deliverance for us when we place the Lord in the midst of our problems and sufferings. The Lord, our Ebenezer, will be our solution. Today’s meditation verse reminds us of this very truth.

Dear children of God, perhaps many things you planned have not come to pass. You may feel as though there is no result despite raising various petitions and prayers to God. However, the very fact that He has protected us until now is the evidence we need to realize that God is working for us. Despite numerous crises and lingering sorrows, we have not been consumed. Yes, the Lord has helped us thus far; therefore, He will continue to help us hereafter.

The word Ebenezer means "Thus far the Lord has helped us." When we believe that the same Ebenezer is with us today, He will come to our aid.

When the Philistines set out to war against Israel, the prophet Samuel was offering a whole burnt offering. He did not go out to fight the Philistines, nor was he preoccupied with combat. Instead, the Lord, our Ebenezer, fought against the Philistines on their behalf. We read this in the Scriptures:

"Now Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, and the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the Lord thundered with a great thunder on that day against the Philistines and confused them, so that they were defeated before Israel." (1 Samuel 7:10)

Furthermore, we see that:

"So the Philistines were subdued and they did not come anymore within the border of Israel." (1 Samuel 7:13)

This incident reveals a profound truth to us. It is noted that while the Philistines came to wage war, Samuel was busy offering a whole burnt offering. Likewise, if we surrender ourselves as a whole sacrifice before God and worship Him, He—our Ebenezer—will drive away the "Philistines" of our lives (problems, sufferings, and illnesses) and prevent them from entering our borders.

Today, as New Testament believers, we do not need to offer bulls and goats as Samuel did. Instead, we must offer ourselves as a sacrifice pleasing to Him. Does not the Apostle Paul instruct us:

"Therefore, I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship." (Romans 12:1)

When problems and sorrows arise, let us not fix our gaze upon them. Just as Samuel did not focus on the approaching Philistines but kept his eyes on the Lord, let us surrender ourselves as a burnt offering to God. Let us place the Lord between ourselves and our struggles. The Lord who has helped us thus far as our Ebenezer will surely help us in the days to come.
