"பரலோகராஜ்யம் நிலத்தில் புதைத்திருக்கிற பொக்கிஷத்துக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது; அதை ஒரு மனுஷன் கண்டு, மறைத்து, அதைப்பற்றிய சந்தோஷத்தினாலே போய், தனக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் விற்று, அந்த நிலத்தைக்கொள்ளுகிறான்." ( மத்தேயு 13 : 44 )
தமிழ்நாட்டின் திருநெல்வேலி, தூத்துக்குடி, இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டங்களில் பொதுவாக வறட்சியான காலநிலையே நிலவுகின்றது. இதனால் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான ஏக்கர் நிலங்கள் பயிரிடமுடியாத தரிசு நிலங்களாக இருப்பதை நாம் பார்க்கலாம். நிலத்தடி நீர் வளமும் குறைவாக இருப்பதால் நிலங்களின் விலைமதிப்பும் குறைவாகவே இருக்கும். ஆனால், சில நிலங்களில் நிலத்தடிநீர்வளம் அதிகமாக இருப்பதுண்டு. அத்தகைய நிலங்கள் மற்ற நிலங்களைவிட இரண்டு மூன்று மடங்கு விலையுள்ளவைகளாக மாறிவிடுகின்றன.
ஆம், நிலத்தடி நீர் அந்த நிலங்களில் புதையலைப்போல மதிப்புமிக்கவையாக இருக்கின்றன. அத்தகைய நிலங்களை அவற்றின் உரிமையாளர்கள் விற்பனை செய்ய முயலும்போது அதனை வாங்கிவிடவேண்டும் எனும் ஆவலில் பலர் முயலுவதுண்டு. அவர்கள் அந்த நிலத்துக்கு அதிகவிலை கொடுக்கவும், அதனை வாங்கிட தங்களுக்குள்ள தங்க நகைகளைக்கூட விற்பனைசெய்வதும் உண்டு. மட்டுமல்ல, அப்படி ஒரு நிலம் விற்பனைக்கு இருப்பதை அறிந்தவர்கள் மற்றவர்கள் அதனை வாங்கிவிடக்கூடாது எனும் எண்ணத்தில் அதுபற்றி வெளியில் கூறுவதில்லை.
இதனையே ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு பரலோக ராஜ்யத்துக்கு உவமையாகக் கூறுகின்றார். பரலோக ராஜ்ஜியம் புதையலைவிட அதிக விலைமதிப்புள்ளது. நாம் இந்த உலகத்தை விட்டுப்பிரிந்தபின் முடிவில்லா காலமும் அங்குதான் வாழவேண்டும். எனவே, அதனை நாம் எப்படியாவது சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும். நிலத்தில் புதையல் இருக்கின்றது என்று அறிந்த மனிதன் தனக்கு இருக்கும் எல்லாவற்றையும் விற்று அந்த நிலத்தை வாங்க முயல்வதுபோல நாம் உலக ஆசை இன்பங்களைத் துறந்து அதனை அடைந்திட முயலவேண்டும்.
பூமியில் நாம் சேர்க்கும் தொத்துக்களும் செல்வங்களும் இந்தப் பூமியில் நாம் வாழும் நாட்கள் வரை உதவலாம். ஆனால் அதுகூட நிச்சயமில்லை. எனவேதான் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறினார், "பூமியிலே உங்களுக்குப் பொக்கிஷங்களைச் சேர்த்துவைக்கவேண்டாம்; இங்கே பூச்சியும் துருவும் அவைகளைக் கெடுக்கும்; இங்கே திருடரும் கன்னமிட்டுத் திருடுவார்கள்." ( மத்தேயு 6 : 19 ) என்று.
நிலத்தில் புதையலைக் கண்ட மனிதன் அதைப்பற்றிய சந்தோஷத்தினாலே போய், தனக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் விற்று, அந்த நிலத்தைக்கொள்ளுகிறான் என்று இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறினார். எல்லாவற்றையும் என்று கூறுவதால், வெறும் சொத்துக்களை மட்டுமல்ல, நாம் நமக்குள் பெருமையாக; மேன்மையாகக் கருதும் அனைத்தையும் இழக்கவேண்டியது அவசியமென்று பொருள். பெரிய பதவி நமக்கு இருக்குமானால் அது பற்றிய பெருமையினை நாம் விட்டுவிட்டு, மற்றவர்களை மதித்து அவர்களையும் சமமாக மதித்து வாழக் கற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டியது அவசியம்.
அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் இப்படி தேவனுக்காக தான் பலவற்றைத் தியாகம் செய்த அனுபவத்தால் கூறுகின்றார், "அதுமாத்திரமல்ல, என் கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவை அறிகிற அறிவின்மேன்மைக்காக எல்லாவற்றையும் நஷ்டமென்று எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்." ( பிலிப்பியர் 3 : 8 ) என்று.
இந்த உலகத்தில்கூட நாம் ஒன்றை இழந்துதான் இன்னொன்றைப் பெறமுடியும். தேர்வில் அதிக மதிப்பெண் பெற்று வெற்றிபெற, விளையாட்டுகளில் சாதனை புரிய பலர் கடுமையாக உழைக்கின்றனர். மற்றவர்கள் மகிழ்ச்சி என்று கருதும் பல காரியங்களைச் செய்யாமல் ஒதுக்கி வைக்கின்றனர். அதன்பின்னரே வெற்றிபெற முடிகின்றது. நாமும் அதுபோல புதையலாகிய பரலோகராஜ்யத்தினை சுகந்தரித்துக்கொள்ள, இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறியபடி தனக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் விற்று, நிலத்தைக்கொள்ளும் மனிதனைப்போலச் செயல்படுவோம்.
ஆம், இழக்கும்போது நாம் பெற்றுக்கொள்கின்றோம்.

"The kingdom of heaven is
like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from
joy over it he goes and sells everything that he has, and buys that
field." (Matthew 13:44)
In the Tirunelveli,
Thoothukudi, and Ramanathapuram districts of Tamil Nadu, a dry climate
generally prevails. Because of this, we see thousands of acres of land lying
fallow and uncultivated. Since groundwater resources are scarce, the market
value of these lands remains low. However, in certain specific plots,
groundwater is abundant. Such lands suddenly become two or three times more
valuable than the surrounding areas.
Indeed, in these regions,
groundwater is as precious as buried treasure. When the owners of such
water-rich lands seek to sell, many people scramble with great desire to
purchase them. They are often willing to pay a high price, even selling their
gold jewellery to secure the deal. Furthermore, those who discover such a land
is for sale often keep it quiet, hoping others won't find out and buy it first.
The Lord Jesus uses this as a
parable for the Kingdom of Heaven. The Kingdom of Heaven is far more valuable
than any earthly treasure. After we depart from this world, that is where we
must live for eternity. Therefore, we must strive to inherit it at any cost.
Just as the man who discovered treasure in a field sold everything, he owned to
buy that land, we must be willing to renounce worldly desires and pleasures to
attain the Kingdom.
The possessions and wealth we
accumulate on earth may help us while we live here, but even that is not
guaranteed. This is why the Lord Jesus Christ said:
"Do not store up for
yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves
break in and steal." (Matthew 6:19)
Jesus Christ noted that the
man who found the treasure, out of joy, went and sold everything he had
to buy the field. By saying "everything," it implies not just
physical assets, but also everything we hold onto with pride or consider as our
personal "greatness." If we hold a high position or status, we must
let go of that pride, learning to respect others and treat everyone as equals.
The Apostle Paul, speaking
from his own experience of sacrificing much for God, says:
"More than that, I count
all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus
my Lord." (Philippians 3:8)
Even in this world, we often
have to give up one thing to gain another. To succeed with high marks in an
exam or to achieve greatness in sports, many people work incredibly hard. They
set aside many activities that others consider "fun" or "relaxing."
Only after such discipline do they achieve victory. Similarly, to inherit the
treasure of the Kingdom of Heaven, let us act like the man who sold all he had
to buy the field.
Yes, it is in losing that we
truly receive.
