📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1879

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 31, செவ்வாய்            

"அப்பொழுது அந்த ஸ்திரீ, தன் குடத்தை வைத்துவிட்டு, ஊருக்குள்ளேபோய், ஜனங்களை நோக்கி,  நான் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் ஒரு மனுஷன் எனக்குச் சொன்னார்; அவரை வந்து பாருங்கள்; அவர் கிறிஸ்துதானோ என்றாள்" (யோவான் 4:28,29)

தேவனை வாழ்வில் நாம் அறிந்துகொள்ளவேண்டுமானால் நம்மிடம் திறந்த மனம் இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம்; நமது பாவங்களையும் மீறுதல்களையும்   ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் மனநிலை நமக்கு அவசியம். இதனையே இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் நாம் சமாரிய பெண்மணி கூறும் கூற்றின் மூலம் உணர்ந்துகொள்கின்றோம். 

பொதுவாக நாம் நம்மைக்குறித்துப் பிறர் பெருமையாகப் பேசுவதை இரசிப்போம்; அதனைக்குறித்து மற்றவர்களிடமும் பெருமையாக எடுத்துக் கூறுவோம். ஆனால் நம்மை யாராவது குறிகூறினாலோ நமது தவறை எடுத்துச்சொன்னாலோ அதனை பெருமையாக மற்றவர்களிடம் கூறமாட்டோம். ஆனால் இங்கு இந்தச் சமாரிய பெண் இயேசு அவளது வாழ்க்கை முறைகேடுகளை எடுத்துச் சொன்னதை பெருமையாகக் கூறுகின்றாள். "நான் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் ஒரு மனுஷன் எனக்குச் சொன்னார்; அவரை வந்து பாருங்கள்" என்று எடுத்துக்கூறி மற்றவர்களை இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடம் அழைத்து வருகின்றாள்.  

இயேசு கிறிஸ்து அப்படி அவளைக்குறித்துக் கூறியவைதான் என்ன? இயேசு அவளிடம் பேசியபோது தான் அளிக்கும் ஜீவத் தண்ணீரைக்குறித்துக் கூறினார். அவள் அவரிடம் ஆண்டவரே அந்தத் தண்ணீரை எனக்குத் தாரும் என்று கேட்டாள். "இயேசு அவளை நோக்கி: நீ போய், உன் புருஷனை இங்கே அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவா என்றார். அதற்கு அந்த ஸ்திரீ: எனக்குப் புருஷன் இல்லை என்றாள். இயேசு அவளை நோக்கி: எனக்குப் புருஷன் இல்லையென்று நீ சொன்னது சரிதான். எப்படியெனில், ஐந்து புருஷர் உனக்கிருந்தார்கள், இப்பொழுது உனக்கிருக்கிறவன் உனக்குப் புருஷனல்ல, இதை உள்ளபடி சொன்னாய் என்றார். (யோவான் 4:16 - 18)

அவளுக்கு ஐந்து கணவர்கள் இருந்தார்கள், இப்போது ஆறாவதாக அவளோடு வாழ்பவனும் அவளது கணவனல்ல. அதாவது, அவளது வாழ்க்கை ஒழுக்கமற்ற வாழ்க்கை. இதனைத்தான் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறினார். ஆனால் இந்தப் பெண்ணோ, "நான் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் ஒரு மனுஷன் எனக்குச் சொன்னார்; அவரை வந்து பாருங்கள்" என்று கூறி மற்றவர்களை அழைத்து வருகின்றாள்.  பொதுவாக நம்மைக்குறித்து நமக்கு நேராக யாராவது இப்படி நமது குற்றத்தை எடுத்துக்கூறினால் நாம் கோபப்படுவோம், அல்லது அவரிடம் பேசுவதைத் தவிர்த்து அந்த இடத்தைவிட்டுச் சென்றுவிடுவோம். 

அனால் இவள் மற்றவர்களை இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடம் அழைத்து வருகின்றாள். "நான் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் எனக்குச் சொன்னார் என்று சாட்சி சொன்ன அந்த ஸ்திரீயினுடைய வார்த்தையினிமித்தம் அந்த ஊரிலுள்ள சமாரியரில் அநேகர் அவர்மேல் விசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களானார்கள்." ( யோவான் 4 : 39 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். மட்டுமல்ல, அவர்கள் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை தங்கள் ஊரில் தங்கவேண்டுமென்று அழைக்கின்றனர். அவரும் அங்கு இரண்டு நாட்கள் தங்கினார்.

நமது பாவ வாழ்க்கையினை யாராவது ஒரு தேவ ஊழியர் நமக்கு எடுத்துக் கூறினால் நாம் இப்படிச் செய்வோமா? நான் ஆரம்பத்தில் ஆராதனைக்குச் சென்ற இந்தியன் பெந்தேகோஸ்தே சபை மூத்த போதகர் ஜான்சன் டேவிட் அவர்கள் இப்படிப் பலரிடம்  கூறுவார். அவர் மக்களது தவறுகளையும் பாவ வாழ்கையினையும் பொதுமக்கள்முன் கூறாமல் சம்பத்தப்பட்ட மனிதர்களிடம் தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் தான் கூறுவார். ஆனாலும்  மனவேதனை அடைந்து பலர் அவரது சபைக்குச் செல்வதைத் தவிர்த்து விடுவதுண்டு. என்னைப்பற்றியும் என்னிடமும் அவர் பல குறைகளை பலமுறை  கூறியதுண்டு. இத்தகைய போதகர்கள் இன்று அரிதாகவே இருக்கின்றனர். 

ஆனால் இந்தப் பெண்ணைப்போல "நான் செய்த எல்லா பாவங்களையும்  ஒரு மனுஷன் எனக்குச் சொன்னார்; அவரை வந்து பாருங்கள்" என்ற மனநிலையுடன் நாம் ஆவிக்குரிய காரியங்களில் செயல்படுவோமானால் மட்டுமே நாம்  கிறிஸ்துவை அதிகமாக அறிந்துகொள்ள முடியும். அப்போதுதான் நமது பாவங்களை உணர்ந்து அவற்றை விட்டுவிடமுடியும்; தேவனது இரக்கத்தையும் மீட்ப்பினையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளமுடியும். ஆம்,  "தன் பாவங்களை மறைக்கிறவன் வாழ்வடையமாட்டான்; அவைகளை அறிக்கை செய்து விட்டுவிடுகிறவனோ இரக்கம் பெறுவான்." ( நீதிமொழிகள் 28 : 13 )

"So, the woman left her water jar, and went into the city and said to the men, 'Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?'" (John 4:28-29)

If we are to know God in our lives, it is essential to have an open heart; a mindset that accepts our sins and transgressions is necessary. We realize this through the statement of the Samaritan woman in today’s meditation verse.

Generally, we enjoy it when others speak highly of us, and we proudly share those compliments with others. However, if someone points out our faults or highlights our mistakes, we do not proudly share that with anyone. But here, this Samaritan woman speaks with conviction about how Jesus pointed out the irregularities in her lifestyle. She brings others to Jesus Christ by saying, "Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done."

What exactly did Jesus Christ say about her? When Jesus spoke to her, He spoke about the Living Water He provides. She asked Him, "Sir, give me this water."

"He said to her, 'Go, call your husband and come here.' The woman answered and said, 'I have no husband.' Jesus said to her, 'You have correctly said, "I have no husband"; for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this which you have said is true.'" (John 4:16-18)

She had five husbands, and the sixth person she was living with was not her husband. In other words, her life was an immoral one. This is what Jesus Christ pointed out. Yet, this woman invites others, saying, "Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done." Normally, if someone points out our faults directly to us like this, we would get angry or avoid speaking to them and leave the place.

But she leads others to Jesus Christ. We read in John 4:39: "From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, 'He told me all the things that I have done.'" Not only that, they invited Jesus Christ to stay in their town, and He stayed there for two days (John 4:40).

Would we react this way if a servant of God pointed out our sinful life? The senior pastor of the Indian Pentecostal Church where I first attended, Pastor Johnson David, would speak like this to many. He would not mention people's mistakes and sinful lives in public but would address the concerned individuals privately. Nevertheless, many would feel hurt and avoid going to his church. He has also pointed out many of my own faults to me several times. Such pastors are rare today.

However, only if we function in spiritual matters with a mindset like this woman—"Come, see a man who told me all the sins I have committed"—can we know Christ more deeply. Only then can we realize our sins and forsake them; only then can we receive God’s mercy and redemption. Indeed, "He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion." (Proverbs 28:13)
