ஆதவன் 🔥 945🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 30, 2023 புதன்கிழமை

"சரீரமுயற்சி அற்பபிரயோஜனமுள்ளது; தேவபக்தியானது இந்த ஜீவனுக்கும் இதற்குப் பின்வரும் ஜீவனுக்கும் வாக்குத்தத்தமுள்ளதாகையால் எல்லாவற்றிலும் பிரயோஜனமுள்ளது." ( 1 தீமோத்தேயு 4 : 8 )

இந்த உலகத்தில் பொருள் சம்பாதிக்கவேண்டும் எனும் எண்ணத்திலும் எப்படியாவது வாழ்க்கையில்  முன்னேறி விடவேண்டுமென்னும் எண்ணத்திலும் மக்கள் பல்வேறு முயற்சிகளில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர். வீட்டையும் மனைவி பிள்ளைகளையும் விட்டு பொருள்தேட இரவும் பகலும் உழைக்கும் மனிதர்களை நாம் இந்த உலகத்தில் பார்க்கின்றோம். ஆனால், அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், மனிதனின் இந்த முயற்சிகள் அற்ப பிரயோஜனமுள்ளது என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

இப்படிக் கடினமாக உழைப்பதால் ஒருவேளை நாம் வாழ்வில் முன்னேறி வீடு, கார், சொத்துசுகங்கள், புகழ் இவற்றைச் சம்பாதிக்கலாம். ஆனால் இவை அற்ப பிரயோஜனமுள்ளது. உலகத்தின் பார்வையில் இவை பெரிதாகத் தெரிந்தாலும் தேவனின் பார்வையில் இவை அற்பமானவையே. 

இது மட்டுமல்ல, தங்களது உடலைப் பேணுவதற்குச் சிலர் கடுமையான பயிற்சிகளையும் உணவுக்கட்டுப்பாடுகளையும் மேற்கொள்ளுகின்றனர். உடற்பயிற்சியும் உணவுக் கட்டுப்பாடும் தேவையே. ஆனால் இவைகளையே நாம் முற்றிலும் சார்ந்துவிடக்கூடாது. இத்தகைய முயற்சிகள் தேவ பக்தி முயற்சிகளுக்கு அடுத்தபடியாக இருந்தால் தான் நல்லது. உடற்பயிற்சி மட்டும் எவரையும் காப்பாற்றிவிடாது.  எனவேதான், தேவபக்தியானது எல்லாவற்றிலும் பிரயோஜனமுள்ளது என்று இன்றைய வசனம் கூறுகின்றது.

தேவ பக்திக்கென்று நாம் எடுக்கும் முயற்சிகள் மற்றும்  தேவனோடு ஐக்கியம் ஏற்படுத்த நாம் கொள்ளும் முயற்சிகள் இந்த உலக வாழ்க்கைக்கும் இனி வரவிருக்கும் மறுஉலக வாழ்க்கைக்கும் பிரயோஜனமுள்ளதாய் இருக்கின்றது. இதனையே தனது சீடனான தீமோத்தேயுக்கு எடுத்துச் சொல்கின்றார் பவுல். தொடர்ந்து, "உலகத்திலே நாம் ஒன்றும் கொண்டுவந்ததுமில்லை, இதிலிருந்து நாம் ஒன்றும் கொண்டுபோவதுமில்லை என்பது நிச்சயம்." ( 1 தீமோத்தேயு 6 : 7 ) என நினைவுறுத்துகின்றார்.

அதாவது சரீர முயற்சியில் எவ்வளவு நாம் சம்பாதித்தாலும் அவை இந்த உலகத்தைத் தாண்டி நம்மோடு வரப்போவதில்லை. ஆனால் இந்த உலக மக்கள் பண ஆசையால் இந்த ஜீவனுக்கும் இதற்குப் பின்வரும் ஜீவனுக்கும் உபயோகமாகவுள்ள தேவ பக்திக்குரிய செயல்களை விட்டுவிடுகின்றனர். 

இப்படி இந்த உலகத்துச் செல்வத்துக்காக மட்டுமே நாம் உழைத்துக்கொண்டிருப்போமானால் நாம் பரிதபிக்கத் தக்கவர்களாகவே இருப்போம். ஆம்,  "பண ஆசை எல்லாத் தீமைக்கும் வேராயிருக்கிறது; சிலர் அதை இச்சித்து, விசுவாசத்தைவிட்டு வழுவி, அநேக வேதனைகளாலே தங்களை உருவக் குத்திக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்." ( 1 தீமோத்தேயு 6 : 10 )

அன்பானவர்களே, இதனைப் படிக்கும்போது சிலர் நாம் உழைக்கக்கூடாதா? உடற்பயிற்சிகள் செய்யக்கூடாதா? என எண்ணலாம். நாம் கடினமாக உழைக்க வேண்டியது அவசியம். உழைக்காதவன் உண்ணலாகாது என்றுதான்  வேதம் கூறுகின்றது. ஆனால், உழைப்பை நம்புவதைவிட  உழைப்பதற்கான ஆற்றலையும் பலத்தையும் நமக்குத் தந்துள்ள தேவனை முதலில் நம்பி அவருக்கு நாம் முதலிடம் கொடுக்கவேண்டும். 

ஆம், நமது சரீரமுயற்சி தேவனது பார்வையில் அற்பபிரயோஜனமுள்ளது; தேவபக்தியானது இந்த ஜீவனுக்கும் இதற்குப் பின்வரும் ஜீவனுக்கும் எல்லாவற்றிலும் பிரயோஜனமுள்ளது.

"For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." ( 1 Timothy 4 : 8 )

People are engaged in various endeavours in this world with the idea of earning money and want to somehow advance in life. In this world we see people who leave home, wife and children and work day and night in search of wealth. But the apostle Paul says that these efforts of man are of little profit.

By working hard like this we may progress in life and earn houses, cars, wealth and fame etc. But these are of little use. In the eyes of the world these things seem great, but in the eyes of God they are insignificant.

Not only this, some people go through rigorous exercises and diet control measures to maintain their bodies. Exercise and diet control are essential. But we should not depend entirely on these. It is better if such efforts are next to devotional efforts. Exercise alone will not save anyone. That is why today's verse says that godliness is profitable in all things.

The efforts we make for devotion to God and the efforts we make to establish unity with God are useful for this worldly life and the hereafter. Paul writes this to his disciple Timothy. He continued, "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out." ( 1 Timothy 6 : 7 )

That is, no matter how much we earn through physical efforts, they are not going to come with us beyond this world. But the people of this world, because of the desire for money, leave the pious activities that are useful for this life and the life to come.

If we are working only for the wealth of this world, we will be pitiable. Yea, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." ( 1 Timothy 6 : 10 )

Beloved, as you read this, you may think, should we not work? or should we not do exercise? Beloved, we need to work hard. The scriptures say that he who does not work should not eat. But rather than relying on our own labour, we should first trust God who has given us the energy and strength to work.

Yes, our carnal efforts are worthless in God's sight; Godliness is useful for everything in this life and for the life to come.
