'ஆதவன்' 💚மே 01, 2025. 💚வியாழக்கிழமை 

"சிலுவையைப்பற்றிய உபதேசம் கெட்டுப்போகிறவர்களுக்குப் பைத்தியமாயிருக்கிறது, இரட்சிக்கப்படுகிற நமக்கோ அது தேவபெலனாயிருக்கிறது." (1 கொரிந்தியர் 1: 18)

"இன்றைய நவீன உலகினில் எல்லாமே புதியனவாக உள்ளன. சுமார் அறுபது எழுபது ஆண்டுகளுக்குமுன் இருந்த பல பொருட்கள் இன்று இல்லாமல்போய் அவைகளுக்குப்பதில் நவீனமான பொருட்கள் உலகில் பரவலாக வந்துவிட்டன.  அப்படியானால் இரண்டாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்குமுன் இருந்த காரியங்களும் எழுதிவைத்த எழுத்துக்களும் எப்படி இந்தக் காலத்துக்குப் பொருந்தும்?" இது நண்பர் ஒருவரிடம் நான் கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றி - அவரது சிலுவையினால் உண்டான மீட்பினைப்பற்றி எடுத்துக்கூறியபோது அவர் என்னிடம் கேட்டக்  கேள்வி.  

ஆம்  அன்பானவர்களே, இன்று பலரும் இப்படித்தான் எண்ணுகின்றனர். கிறிஸ்துவின் போதனைகள் இன்று கடைபிடிக்க இயலாதவை என்கின்றனர் பலர். இந்த நவீன உலகத்துக்குப் பொருந்தாத பைத்தியக்காரனாக நீ இவைகளை நம்பிக்கொண்டும் இவைகளைப்பற்றி எழுதிக்கொண்டும் இருக்கின்றாயே என்கின்றனர். 

சரி, சிலுவையைப்பற்றிய உபதேசம் என்பதுதான் என்ன? அது கிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தத்தால் உண்டான பாவ மன்னிப்பு, பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை, நித்திய ஜீவன் இவைகளே.  இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது, "சிலுவையைப்பற்றிய உபதேசம் கெட்டுப்போகிறவர்களுக்குப் பைத்தியமாயிருக்கிறது" என்று. அதாவது தங்களது பாவ வாழ்க்கையினைக்குறித்துக் கவலையில்லாமல் அதிலேயே தொடர்ந்து வாழ்பவர்களுக்கு கிறிஸ்துவின் இத்தகைய போதனைகள் பைத்தியமானவையாகவே இருக்கும். 

மேலும் கிறிஸ்துவின் சிலுவையின் வழி பஞ்சு மெத்தையில் நடப்பது போன்றதல்ல; மாறாக, அது கடினமான பாதை. அவர் நடந்ததுபோல் அந்தப் பாதையில் நடப்பதுதான் சிலுவையின் வழி. எனவேதான் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து, "தம்முடைய சீஷர்களை நோக்கி: ஒருவன் என்னைப் பின்பற்றி வர விரும்பினால், அவன் தன்னைத் தான் வெறுத்து, தன் சிலுவையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு என்னைப் பின்பற்றக்கடவன்." ( மத்தேயு 16: 24) என்றார். ஆனால் இன்று பல ஆசீர்வாதப் போதகர்கள் இதற்கு மாறான தவறான போதனையால் இலகுவான வழியை மக்களுக்குக் காட்டி பெரிய கூட்டத்தைத் தங்களுக்குப்பின் திரட்டுகின்றனர்.  

"இடுக்கமான வாசல்வழியாய் உட்பிரவேசியுங்கள்; கேட்டுக்குப்போகிற வாசல் விரிவும், வழி விசாலமுமாயிருக்கிறது; அதின் வழியாய்ப் பிரவேசிக்கிறவர்கள் அநேகர். ஜீவனுக்குப்போகிற வாசல் இடுக்கமும், வழி நெருக்கமுமாயிருக்கிறது; அதைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கிறவர்கள் சிலர்." ( மத்தேயு 7: 13, 14) என்றார் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து. இன்று சிலுவை காட்டும் இந்த இடுக்கமான வழியை நாம் எடுத்துக்கூறும்போது அது மற்றவர்களுக்குப் பைத்தியமாக இருக்கின்றது. 

அன்பானவர்களே, இயேசு கிறிஸ்து சீடத்துவ வாழ்க்கை வாழவே நம்மை அழைக்கின்றார். "தன் சிலுவையைச் சுமந்துகொண்டு எனக்குப் பின்செல்லாதவன் எனக்குச் சீஷனாயிருக்கமாட்டான்." ( லுூக்கா 14: 27) என்றார் அவர். ஆம், சிலுவை எனும் இடுக்கமான வழிதான் இரட்சிப்பின் வழி. அதைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கிறவர்கள் சிலர் என்று இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவே கூறிவிட்டார். அந்தச் சிலரில் நாமும் ஒருவராக இருப்போம். ஏனெனில் இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுவதுபோல, "இரட்சிக்கப்படுகிற நமக்கோ அது தேவபெலனாயிருக்கிறது." 

சிலுவையின் போதனை தரும் பெலன்தான் என்ன? அது பாவத்தை மேற்கொள்ளும் பெலன். அந்தப்  பெலத்தைப்  பெற்றுக்கொண்டால்தான் நாம் நித்தியஜீவனுக்குப் பங்குள்ளவர்கள் ஆகமுடியும். 

இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறினார், "தேவன், தம்முடைய ஒரேபேறான குமாரனை விசுவாசிக்கிறவன் எவனோ அவன் கெட்டுப்போகாமல் நித்தியஜீவனை அடையும்படிக்கு, அவரைத் தந்தருளி, இவ்வளவாய் உலகத்தில் அன்பு கூர்ந்தார்." ( யோவான் 3: 16) என்று. தேவனுடைய ஒரே குமாரனாகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசிக்கும்போது நாம் சிலுவை பற்றிய உபதேசத்தையும் விசுவாசிப்பவர்களாக இருப்போம். அது நமக்குப் பெலனையும் தரும்.  இல்லையானால் நாம் இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுவதுபோல கெட்டுப்போன பைத்தியக்காரர்களாகவே இருப்போம்.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” —1 Corinthians 1:18 (KJV)

In today’s modern world, everything is becoming new. Many things that existed sixty or seventy years ago are now obsolete and have been replaced by modern alternatives. So, when I once shared about Christ and the redemption through His cross, a friend asked me, “How can the events and writings from two thousand years ago still be relevant today?”

Yes, beloved, many people today think the same way. They claim that the teachings of Christ are outdated and impractical for the modern world. Some even go so far as to call you a fool for believing in and writing about such things in this advanced era.

So, what is the preaching of the cross? It is the message of forgiveness of sins through the blood of Christ, deliverance from sin, and the promise of eternal life. Today’s meditation verse says:

“The preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness”—that is, to those who continue to live in sin without any concern, the teachings of Christ will seem foolish.

Furthermore, the way of the cross is not a path of ease, like walking on cotton. Rather, it is a hard and narrow road. Walking the way of the cross means walking the same path that Christ walked. That’s why Jesus said:

“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” —Matthew 16:24 (KJV)

However, today, many prosperity preachers offer a contrary message—an easier path—to attract large crowds for themselves, deviating from the true message of the cross. Jesus also said:

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” —Matthew 7:13–14 (KJV)

So when we proclaim this narrow path of the cross today, it appears foolish to others. Dearly beloved, Jesus Christ calls us to live the life of a disciple. He said:

“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.” —Luke 14:27 (KJV)

Yes, the way of the cross—the narrow path—is the way of salvation. Jesus Himself said that few find it. Let us be among those few. For as today’s meditation verse affirms:

“Unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

What is the power that the message of the cross gives? It is the power to overcome sin. Only when we receive that power can we partake in eternal life.

Jesus said: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” —John 3:16 (KJV)

When we believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, we also believe in the preaching of the cross. That message will strengthen us. Otherwise, as the Scripture warns, we will remain among the foolish who perish.
