மலைமேல் இருக்கும் நகரம் / CITY ON THE MOUNT

 'ஆதவன்' வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,037               நவம்பர் 30, 2023 வியாழக்கிழமை

"இருளிலிருந்து வெளிச்சத்தைப் பிரகாசிக்கச்சொன்ன தேவன் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் முகத்திலுள்ள தமது மகிமையின் அறிவாகிய ஒளியைத் தோன்றப்பண்ணும்பொருட்டாக, எங்கள் இருதயங்களிலே பிரகாசித்தார்." ( 2 கொரிந்தியர் 4 : 6 )

"கிறிஸ்துவின் முகத்திலுள்ள தேவனின் அறிவாகிய ஒளி" எனும் வார்த்தைகளை இன்றைய தியானத்துக்குரிய வசனத்தில்  வாசிக்கின்றோம்.  தேவனின் அறிவாகிய ஒளி கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவில் இருக்கின்றது. அந்த ஒளியை நமது இருதயங்களில் தேவன் ஒளிரச்செய்தார் என்கின்றார் பவுல் அடிகள்.

வேதாகமத்தில் தேவன் பேசிய முதல்  வார்தைகளாக பதிவிடப்பட்டுள்ளது,  "தேவன் வெளிச்சம் உண்டாகக்கடவது என்றார். வெளிச்சம் உண்டாயிற்று." ( ஆதியாகமம் 1 : 3 ) என்பதுதான். ஒளியான தேவன் முலமாக ஒளி உலகினில் வந்தது. அந்த ஒளியே கிறிஸ்துவாகிய ஒளியாகவும் உலகினில் வந்தது. "உலகத்திலே வந்து எந்த மனுஷனையும் பிரகாசிப்பிக்கிற ஒளியே அந்த மெய்யான ஒளி." ( யோவான் 1 : 9 )  என்று அப்போஸ்தலரான யோவான் குறிப்பிடுகின்றார்.

நாம் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் விசுவாசிகளாகும்போது கிறிஸ்துவின் ஒளி நமக்குள் வருகின்றது.  ஆம், இந்த உலகை ஒளிரச் செய்த ஒளி, சூரியன், சந்திரன், நட்சத்திரங்கள் அண்டவெளிவீதிகளிலுள்ள ஒளி இவற்றையெல்லாம் படைத்த அந்த ஒளி கிறிஸ்து மூலம் நமது வெறும் மண்ணாலான உடலுக்குள் வருகின்றது. இதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், "இந்த மகத்துவமுள்ள வல்லமை எங்களால் உண்டாயிராமல், தேவனால் உண்டாகியிருக்கிறதென்று விளங்கும்படி, இந்தப் பொக்கிஷத்தை மண்பாண்டங்களில் பெற்றிருக்கிறோம்." ( 2 கொரிந்தியர் 4 : 7 ) என்கின்றார். 

எனவே, கிறிஸ்துவை வாழ்வில் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட  நாமும் ஒளிவீசுபவர்களாக இருக்கின்றோம். "நீங்கள் உலகத்துக்கு வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்; மலையின்மேல் இருக்கிற பட்டணம் மறைந்திருக்கமாட்டாது." ( மத்தேயு 5 : 14 ) மலைமேல் இருக்கும் பெரிய நகரம் எப்படி மற்றவர்களின் கண்ணில் படாமல் இருக்கமுடியாதோ அதுபோல நமது ஒளியும் மற்றவர்களது கண்ணில் படும். 

"பொல்லாங்கு செய்கிற எவனும் ஒளியைப் பகைக்கிறான், தன் கிரியைகள் கண்டிக்கப்படாதபடிக்கு, ஒளியினிடத்தில் வராதிருக்கிறான்." ( யோவான் 3 : 20 ) என்று இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறியதுபோல இன்றும் ஒளியான நம்மை பொல்லாதவர்கள் பகைக்கின்றனர். இருளிலிருக்கும் அவர்களது இருளான செயல்பாடுகள் கிறிஸ்துவிடம் வந்தால் அவரது ஒளியினால் வெளிப்பட்டுவிடும் என எண்ணி அவர்கள் ஒளியைப் பகைக்கின்றனர். 

ஒளியான தேவன் யாரையும் புறம்பே தள்ளுவதில்லை. பாவிகளின் பாவ வாழ்க்கையே அவர்களை இருளுக்குள் கொண்டு செல்லும். பல்வேறு அலங்கார விளக்குகளால் ஒளிமயமாகக் காட்சியளிக்கும் திருமண மேடையில் நிர்வாணியான ஒரு மனிதன் துணிந்து வருவானா? அவன் இருளைத்தேடி ஓடுவானல்லவா? அதுபோல பாவிகளின் பாவ வாழ்க்கையே அவர்களை இருளைநோக்கி இழுத்துச் செல்லும். 

எனவே அன்பானவர்களே, தேவன்  நமது இருதயத்தில் பிரகாசிக்கச் செய்த கிறிஸ்துவின் ஒளி மங்கிடாமல் பாதுகாப்போம். அதனை மற்றவர்களுக்கும் கொடுப்போம். நமது ஒளிமிக்க வாழ்க்கையே நம்மை மலைமேல் இருக்கும் நகர்போல மற்றவர்களுக்கு அடையாளம் காட்டும். அப்போது,  வெளிச்சத்தைத் தேடி வரும் பூச்சிகளைப்போல மற்றவர்கள் நமது ஒளியால் கவரப்பட்டு கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவில் நம்மைப்போல ஐக்கியமாவார்கள்.

                CITY ON THE MOUNT

‘AATHAVAN' BIBLE MEDITATION No:- 1,037                 Thursday, November 30, 2023

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." ( 2 Corinthians 4 : 6 )

We read the words "the light of the knowledge of the glory of God" in today's meditation verse. The light of God's knowledge is in Christ Jesus. Paul says that God has made that light shine in our hearts.

The first words spoken by God as recorded in the Bible is, "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.' (Genesis 1: 3) Light came into the world through God the Light. That light came into the world as the light that is Christ. "That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." (John 1: 9) the Apostle John mentions.

When we become believers in Christ, the light of Christ comes into us. Yes, the light that illuminated this world, the sun, the moon, the stars, the light in the cosmic paths, that light that created all these things comes through Christ into our mere earthy body. This is what the apostle Paul said, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." (2 Corinthians 4: 7)

Therefore, we who have received Christ in our lives are also light-emitting. "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." (Matthew 5: 14) Just as a great city on a hill cannot be hidden from the eyes of others, our light will also be seen by others.

"For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." (John 3: 20) As Jesus Christ said, even today the wicked hate us who are the light. They hate the light, thinking that their dark deeds in darkness will be revealed by His light if they come to Christ.

The Light God does not cast anyone away. The sinful life of sinners leads them into darkness. Would a naked man dare to walk on a wedding stage illuminated by various decorative lights? Won't he run to the dark? Similarly, the sinful life of sinners drags them towards darkness.

Therefore, beloved, let us guard against dimming the light of Christ which God has made shine in our hearts. Let's give it to others. Our shining life will identify us to others as a city on a hill. Then, like insects seeking light, others will be attracted by our light and become united with us in Christ Jesus.
