சூரைச்செடி அனுபவம் / JUNIPER PLANT EXPERIENCE

 'ஆதவன்' வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,017,              நவம்பர் 10, 2023 வெள்ளிக்கிழமை

"அவன் வனாந்தரத்தில் ஒருநாள் பிரயாணம் போய், ஒரு சூரைச்செடியின் கீழ் உட்கார்ந்து, தான் சாகவேண்டும் என்று கோரி: போதும் கர்த்தாவே, என் ஆத்துமாவை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும்; நான் என் பிதாக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் நல்லவன் அல்ல என்று சொல்லி, படுத்துக்கொண்டு நித்திரைபண்ணினான்." ( 1 இராஜாக்கள் 19 : 4, 5 )

எலியாவைப்போன்ற  "சூரைச் செடி அனுபவம்" வாழ்வில் எல்லோருக்குமே ஏற்படுவதுதான்.  இத்தனைக்கும் எலியா சாதாரண ஆள் அல்ல. அவர் வல்லமையான தேவ மனிதன். அவர் வானத்திலிருந்து அக்கினியை இறக்கி கர்த்தரே மெய்யான தேவன் என்பதை பாகால் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்கு உணர்த்தியவர், இறந்தவர்களை உயிர்ப்பித்தாவர், கொடிய பஞ்சகாலம் முடியும்வரை சாறிபாத் விதவையின்  வீட்டில் மாவும் எண்ணையும் அதிசயமாக பெருகும்படிச் செய்தவர். 

மழை பெய்யாதபடி அவர் வேண்டுதல் செய்து மூன்றரை ஆண்டுகள் வானத்தை அடைந்துவிட்டார். பின்னர் அவர் வேண்டுதல் செய்தபோது வானம் மழையைப் பொழிந்தது.  இதனை அப்போஸ்தலரான யாக்கோபு, "எலியா என்பவன் நம்மைப்போலப் பாடுள்ள மனுஷனாயிருந்தும், மழைபெய்யாதபடிக்குக் கருத்தாய் ஜெபம்பண்ணினான், அப்பொழுது மூன்று வருஷமும் ஆறு மாதமும் பூமியின்மேல் மழை பெய்யவில்லை." ( யாக்கோபு 5 : 17 ) என்று நினைவுபடுத்துகின்றார்.

ஆம், இத்தனைக்கும் எலியா நம்மைப்போலப் பாடுள்ள மனிதனாகவே இருந்தார் என்று மேற்படி வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. எனவேதான் யேசபேல் அவரைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படித் தேடியபோது எலியா மனம் சோர்ந்து போனார். சூரைச்செடியின் கீழ் உட்கார்ந்து, தான் சாகவேண்டும் என்று கோரி: போதும் கர்த்தாவே, என் ஆத்துமாவை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும்; நான் என் பிதாக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் நல்லவன் அல்ல என்று சொல்லி, படுத்துக்கொண்டு நித்திரைபண்ணினார். 

அவர் தேவனது தீர்க்கதரிசியாக இருந்து தேவனது வார்த்தையின்படிச் செயல்பட்டதால்தான் அவருக்குப் பாடுகள். ஆம். நாம் எவ்வளவுதான் தேவனுக்கு ஏற்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழ்ந்தாலும் உலகத்தில் நமக்கு இதுபோன்ற பாடுகளும் அனுபவங்களும் ஏற்படுவதுண்டு. 

ஆனால் தேவன் நம்மை அப்படியே விட்டுவிடுவதில்லை. சோர்ந்து படுத்திருந்த எலியாவைத் திடப்படுத்தத்  தேவன் தனது தூதனை அனுப்பினார். தூதன் கொண்டுவந்த அப்பத்தையும் தன்னீரையும் குடித்த எலியா திடன்கொண்டார். "அப்பொழுது அவன் எழுந்திருந்து புசித்துக் குடித்து, அந்த போஜனத்தின் பலத்தினால் நாற்பது நாள் இரவு பகல் ஓரேப் என்னும் தேவனுடைய பர்வதமட்டும் நடந்து போனான்." ( 1 இராஜாக்கள் 19 : 8 ) என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.

அன்பானவர்களே, சூரைச்செடி அனுபவம் நமது வாழ்வில் ஏற்படும்போது நாம் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை நோக்கிப்பார்த்து பலமடையவேண்டும். தூதன் அளித்த அப்பதையும் தண்ணீரையும்விட மேலான அப்பமாகிய தனது உடலையும் இரத்தத்தையும் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து நமக்காகக் கொடுத்துள்ளார்.  

தூதன் அளித்த அப்பத்தின்  பலத்தால் எலியா  நாற்பது நாள் இரவு பகல் ஓரேப் என்னும் தேவனுடைய பர்வதமட்டும் நடந்து போனான். நாமும் நமது வாழ்க்கையில் வரும் சோர்வுகளைக் கடந்து கிறிஸ்துவின் உடலும் இரத்தமும் தரும் பலத்தால்  பரலோக சீயோனை நோக்கிச் செல்ல முடியும். சூரைச் செடி அனுபவம் நம்மைத் தேவனுக்குள் திடப்படுத்துகின்றது. அவர் இல்லாமல் நம்மால் எதனையும் செய்ய முடியாது எனும் உண்மையினை நமக்குப் புரியவைக்கின்றது.

       JUNIPER PLANT EXPERIENCE 

'AATHAVAN' BIBLE MEDITATION - No:- 1,017,                     Friday, November 10, 2023

"But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.” (1 Kings 19: 4)

Elijah's "Juniper plant experience" happens to everyone in life. Yet Elijah was no ordinary man. He is a mighty man of God. He is the one who get down fire from heaven and made the prophets of Baal realize that the Lord is the true God, who raised the dead, who miraculously multiplied flour and oil in the house of the widow of Zarephath until the end of the deadly famine.

He prayed for no rain and closed the sky for three and a half years. Then when he prayed, the sky began to rain. This is what the apostle James remember in New Testament as, "Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months." (James 5: 17)

Yes, the above verse says that Elijah was still a man of sorrows like us. That is why Elijah was discouraged when Jezebel sought to kill him. Sitting under the juniper plant, begging to die: Enough, Lord, take my soul; Saying that I am not better than my fathers, he lay down and slept.

Because he was a prophet of God and acted according to the word of God, he was persecuted. Yes. No matter how much we live a life worthy of God, such sufferings and bitter experiences happen to us in the world.

But God never leaves us alone. God sent his angel to strengthen the exhausted Elijah. After drinking the bread and water brought by the angel, Elijah was rebuked. "And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.' (1 Kings 19: 8)

Beloved, when we experience the "Juniper plant  experience" in our lives, we must look to the Lord Jesus Christ and be strengthened. Jesus Christ has given his body and blood for us, which is bread that is better than the bread and water given by the angel to Elijah.

With the strength of the bread given by the angel, Elijah walked forty days and nights to Oreb, the mountain of God. We too can overcome the weariness of our lives and move toward the heavenly Zion by the strength of Christ's body and blood. The "Juniper plant experience" strengthens us in God. It makes us realize that without Him we can do nothing.
