🦋 Meditation verse - சங்கீதம் 119: 31 / Psalm 119:31

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

📖 வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1788                                    🔆 ஆதவன் 30 .12.2025 செவ்வாய்           

"உமது சாட்சிகள்மேல் பற்றுதலாயிருக்கிறேன்; கர்த்தாவே, என்னை வெட்கத்திற்கு உட்படப்பண்ணாதேயும்." ( சங்கீதம் 119: 31)

வேதாகமம் முழுவதும் நாம் தேவனுக்கு ஏற்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழ்ந்த பல தேவ மனிதர்களின் சாட்சிகளைக்குறித்து வாசிக்கின்றோம். இந்த  மனிதர்களின் வாழ்க்கைச் சம்பவங்கள் நமக்கு தேவன்மேல் நாம் விசுவாசம்கொள்ளத் தூண்டுதலாக இருக்கின்றன. இதனையே சங்கீத  ஆசிரியர், "உம்முடைய சாட்சிகள் எனக்கு இன்பமும், என் ஆலோசனைக்காரருமாயிருக்கிறது." ( சங்கீதம் 119: 24) என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

நமது வாழ்க்கையில் நாம் பல்வேறு துன்பங்கள், சோதனைகளைக் கடக்கும்போது நமக்குமுன் உலகத்தில் வாழ்ந்த இந்த மக்களது சாட்சிகள் நமக்குத் திடனளிக்கின்றன. ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, எனவேதான் நாம் வேதாகமத்தைக் கருத்துடன் வாசித்துத் தியானிக்கவேண்டியது அவசியமாய் இருக்கின்றது. 

ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையில் பரிசுத்தவான்களது சாட்சிகள் நமது ஆவிக்குரிய ஓட்டத்தை ஒழுங்காக ஓடிட உதவுகின்றன. எனவேதான் எபிரெய நிரூப ஆசிரியர், "ஆகையால், மேகம்போன்ற இத்தனை திரளான சாட்சிகள் நம்மைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டிருக்க, பாரமான யாவற்றையும், நம்மைச் சுற்றி நெருங்கிநிற்கிற பாவத்தையும் தள்ளிவிட்டு, விசுவாசத்தைத் துவக்குகிறவரும் முடிக்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிற இயேசுவை நோக்கி, நமக்கு நியமித்திருக்கிற ஓட்டத்தில் பொறுமையோடே ஓடக்கடவோம்" ( எபிரெயர் 12: 1) என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

இந்தப் பரிசுத்தவான்களின் சாட்சி வாழ்க்கை நமக்கு வாழ்க்கையில் குறுக்கிடும்  பாரமான துன்பங்கள் யாவற்றையும்,  நம்மைச் சுற்றி நெருங்கிநிற்கிற பாவத்தையும் தள்ளிவிட்டு ஓடிட வழிகாட்டுகின்றன. மட்டுமல்ல, இந்த சாட்சிகள்மூலம் நமது விசுவாசம் வலுப்பெறுகின்றது. நமக்குமுன் வாழ்ந்த மக்களுக்குத் தேவன் இத்தகைய அதிசயமான காரியங்களைச் செய்திருக்கின்றாரே, எனவே எனக்கும்  அப்படிச் செய்வார் எனும் விசுவாசம் நமக்குள் வளருகின்றது. 

"உமது சாட்சிகள்மேல் பற்றுதலாயிருக்கிறேன்" என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுவது வெறுமனே அந்தச் சாட்சிகளது வாழ்க்கையில் நடந்தவைகளைக்குறித்து நாம் ஆச்சரியம்  கொள்வதைக் குறிப்பிடவில்லை. மாறாக, அதுபோன்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழும்போது நமக்கும் வாழ்க்கையில் அத்தகைய அதிசய சம்பவங்கள் நடக்கும் என்று உணர்த்துவதாகும். அப்படி நாம் அந்தச் சாட்சிகள்மேல் பற்றுதலாய் இருக்கும்போது, நம்மாலும்  பாவத்தைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு கிறிஸ்துவைநோக்கி ஆவிக்குரிய ஓட்டத்ததை ஓடமுடியும். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, வேதத்தில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள பரிசுத்தவான்களது சாட்சிகள் நம்மை உணர்வூட்டுகின்றன. அதுபோன்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழ நம்மைத் தூண்டுகின்றன. பாவத்தை விலக்கி விசுவாசத்துடன் நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையை ஓட உதவுகின்றன. எனவேதான், "உமது சாட்சிகள்மேல் பற்றுதலாயிருக்கிறேன்; கர்த்தாவே, என்னை வெட்கத்திற்கு உட்படப்பண்ணாதேயும்." என்கிறார் சங்கீத ஆசிரியர். 

வேதாகமத்தை ஆர்வமுடன் வாசிப்போம்; பரிசுத்தவான்களது வாழ்க்கையில் தேவன் செய்த வல்ல செயல்களை அறிந்து தேவனைத் துதிப்போம்; நாமும் அவர்களைப்போல வாழ்ந்திட அவை நமக்குத் தூண்டுகோலாய் அமையும். அப்படி நாம் தேவனுக்கேற்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழும்போது தேவன் நம்மை வெட்கத்துக்குள்ளாக்கமாட்டார்.

“I cling to Your testimonies; O LORD, do not put me to shame!” (Psalm 119:31)

Throughout the Scriptures, we read the testimonies of many men and women of God who lived lives pleasing to Him. The life events of these people become a powerful encouragement for us to place our trust in God. This is exactly what the psalmist expresses when he says,

“Your testimonies also are my delight; They are my counsellors.”(Psalm 119:24)

When we pass through various sufferings and trials in our own lives, the testimonies of those who lived in this world before us give us strength and courage. Yes, beloved, this is why it is essential for us to read the Bible attentively and meditate upon it.

In our spiritual journey, the testimonies of the saints help us to run our spiritual race with order and discipline. That is why the writer of Hebrews says,

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith.” (Hebrews 12:1–2)

The witness-bearing lives of these saints guide us to lay aside every burden that hinders our life and the sin that clings so closely to us, enabling us to run forward. Not only that, through these testimonies our faith is strengthened. When we see how God performed such wonderful works in the lives of those who lived before us, a confidence grows within us that He will do the same for us as well.

When today’s meditation verse says, “I cling to Your testimonies,” it does not merely mean that we admire or marvel at what happened in their lives. Rather, it conveys the truth that when we live a life like theirs, we too will experience such divine works in our own lives. When we hold fast to these testimonies, we will be able to lay aside sin and run our spiritual race, fixing our eyes on Christ.

Yes, beloved, the testimonies of the saints recorded in the Bible awaken our hearts. They inspire us and motivate us to live such a life. They help us to reject sin and to run our spiritual life with faith. That is why the psalmist declares,

“I cling to Your testimonies; O LORD, do not put me to shame!”

Let us read the Bible with eagerness. Let us praise God as we learn about His mighty works in the lives of the saints. May their lives become a source of inspiration for us to live as they lived. When we live a life pleasing to God, He will never allow us to be put to shame.
