🦋 Meditation verse - நீதிமொழிகள் 14 : 21 / Proverbs 14:21

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1965

"பிறனை அவமதிக்கிறவன் பாவஞ்செய்கிறான்; தரித்திரனுக்கு இரங்குகிறவனோ பாக்கியமடைவான்." ( நீதிமொழிகள் 14 : 21 )

பாவம் என்பது கொலை, கொள்ளை, களவு, கற்பழிப்பு போன்ற கொடிய செயல்கள் மட்டுமல்ல, அது இருதயத்தின் வெளிப்பாடு. வஞ்சகம், பொறாமை, பகட்டு, இவைகளும் பாவமே. மட்டுமல்ல, ஒருவரது இல்லாமையினை வைத்து, அல்லது ஒருவரது பொருளாதாரக் குறைவை முன்னிட்டு நாம் அவரை அற்பமாக எண்ணுவோமானால் நாம் பாவம் செய்தவர்களாவோம். அதுபோல அத்தகைய பொருளாதாரக் குறைவிலிருக்கும் ஏழைகளுக்கு இரங்குகின்றபோது நாம் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுகின்றோம்.

நாம் பேசும் வார்த்தையினால்தான் மற்றவர்களுக்கு  அவமதிப்பு ஏற்படவேண்டுமென்று இல்லை. பொதுவான இடங்களில் ஒருவரை மதிக்காமல்  ஒதுக்குவது, பலர்  கூடியிருக்கும்போது தங்களது பணப்பெருமையினை வெளிக்காட்டிப் பேசுவது,  போன்ற காரியங்களைச்  செய்யும்போது நாம் பிறரை அவமதிக்கின்றோம் என்று பொருள். இது மனிதர்களது மனப்பெருமையின் வெளிப்பாடு. பெருமையுள்ளவனுக்குத் தேவன் எப்போதும் எதிர்த்தே நிற்கின்றார்.

இப்படி அற்பமாக நாம் பிறரை எண்ணிச் செயல்படுவது எப்படிப் பாவமாகின்றது என்பதனை இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பின்வருமாறு கூறினார். "இந்தச் சிறியரில் ஒருவனையும் அற்பமாய் எண்ணாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; அவர்களுக்குரிய தேவதூதர்கள் பரலோகத்திலே என் பரமபிதாவின் சமுகத்தை எப்போதும் தரிசிக்கிறார்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்." ( மத்தேயு 18 : 10 ) ஆம், நாம் பிறரை அற்பமாக, அவமரியாதை செய்யும்போது அவர்களது தேவதூதர்களையும் அவமதிக்கின்றோம். அவர்கள் பரமபிதாவின் சமுகத்தை எப்போதும் தரிசிப்பதால் இந்த அவமதிப்பை அவருக்கு எடுத்துச் சொல்வார்கள். 

அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் உணர்ந்துகொள்ளவேண்டிய உண்மை என்னவென்றால் தேவன் இழிவானவைகளையும், அற்பமாய் எண்ணப்படுபவைகளையும் இல்லாதவைகளையுமே தெரிந்தெடுத்து உயர்த்துகின்றார். "உள்ளவைகளை அவமாக்கும்படி, உலகத்தின் இழிவானவைகளையும், அற்பமாய் எண்ணப்பட்டவைகளையும், இல்லாதவைகளையும், தேவன் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்." ( 1 கொரிந்தியர் 1 : 28 ) ஆம், "வீடுகட்டுகிறவர்களாகிய உங்களால் அற்பமாய் எண்ணப்பட்ட அவரே மூலைக்குத் தலைக்கல்லானவர்." ( அப்போஸ்தலருடைய நடபடிகள் 4 : 11 ) என்று எழுகியுள்ளபடி அற்பமாக எண்ணப்பட்ட கிறிஸ்துவானவர் எல்லா முழங்கால்களும் அவருக்குமுன் முடங்கும்படிக்கு உயர்த்தப்பட்டார். 

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் மேலும், "தரித்திரனுக்கு இரங்குகிறவனோ பாக்கியமடைவான்" என்று கூறுகின்றது. அதாவது ஏழைகளுக்கு நாம் இரங்கி உதவும்போது அந்தச் செயலை தேவன் பார்த்து நமக்கு இரங்குகின்றார். "ஏழைக்கு இரங்குகிறவன் கர்த்தருக்குக் கடன்கொடுக்கிறான்; அவன் கொடுத்ததை அவர் திரும்பக் கொடுப்பார்" ( நீதிமொழிகள் 19 : 17 ) என்று நாம் வாசிக்கவில்லையா?

பிறரை சொல்லினாலும் செயலினாலும் அவமதிக்காமல் இருப்பது, நம்மிடையே  வசிக்கும் ஏழைகளுக்கு உதவுவது இவை இரண்டும் வெவ்வேறான காரியங்களல்ல. இரண்டும் ஒன்றுதான். நம்மிடையே வாழும் மற்றவர்களை நாம் அவமதிக்காமல் இருப்போமானால் அதுவும் ஏழைகளுக்கு உதவுவது போன்ற செயலே. எனவேதான் இன்றைய தியான வசனம் இவை இரண்டையும் சேர்த்துக் கூறுகின்றது. 

எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் மேலாக, நமது ஜெபங்களை தேவன் கேட்கவேண்டுமானால் நாம் மற்றவர்களால் அவமதித்துப் புறம்தள்ளப்பட்டவர்களுக்கும் ஏழைகளுக்கும் உதவுபவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். அப்போது, "கொர்நேலியுவே, உன் ஜெபம் கேட்கப்பட்டது, உன் தானதருமங்கள் தேவசந்நிதியில் நினைத்தருளப்பட்டது" ( அப்போஸ்தலருடைய நடபடிகள் 10 : 31 ) என்று கொர்நேலியுவுக்குக் கூறியதுபோல தேவன் நம்மிடமும் கூறி நமது ஜெபங்களை அங்கீகரிப்பார்.

"AATHAVAN" Meditation – 1965

"One who despises his neighbour sins, but one who is gracious to the poor is happy." — Proverbs 14:21 (NASB)

Sin is not limited only to heinous acts like murder, robbery, theft, or assault; it is an expression of the heart. Deceit, jealousy, and arrogance are also sins. Furthermore, if we look down on someone based on their lack or because of their poor financial status, we have committed a sin. Conversely, when we show compassion to the poor who are facing such financial hardships, we are blessed.

It is not necessary that we cause contempt to others only through the words we speak. By ignoring someone in public places, or by boastfully displaying one's financial pride when many are gathered, we are, in essence, despising others. This is an expression of human pride. God always sets Himself against the proud.

Jesus Christ explained how thinking of others so lightly and acting this way becomes a sin:

"See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven."  — Matthew 18:10 (NASB)

Yes, when we look down on others or treat them with disrespect, we are also disrespecting their angels. Since they continually behold the face of our Heavenly Father, they will carry this insult to Him.

Beloved, the truth we must realize is that God chooses and exalts the base, despised, and insignificant things of this world.

"and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are,” — 1 Corinthians 1:28 (NASB)

Yes, just as it is written,

"He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone."  — Acts 4:11 (NASB)

Christ, who was despised and rejected, was exalted so highly that every knee should bow before Him.

Today’s meditation verse further states, "but one who is gracious to the poor is happy." This means that when we show compassion and help the poor, God sees that action and extends His grace to us. Have we not read:

"One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his good deed."  — Proverbs 19:17 (NASB)

Refraining from despising others through our words and actions, and helping the poor who live among us, are not two separate things. Both are one and the same. If we refrain from treating others with contempt, that itself is an act equivalent to helping the poor. That is why today's meditation verse links these two concepts together.

Above all, if God is to hear our prayers, it is essential that we are people who help the poor and those who have been despised and cast aside by others. Then, just as He said to Cornelius,

"Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your charitable gifts have been remembered before God."  — Acts 10:31 (NASB)

God will say the same to us and accept our prayers.

🦋 Meditation verse - ஏசாயா 64 : 4 / Isaiah 64:4

"ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1964

"தேவனே, உமக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு நீர் செய்பவைகளை, நீரேயல்லாமல் உலகத்தோற்றமுதற்கொண்டு ஒருவரும் கேட்டதுமில்லை, செவியால் உணர்ந்ததுமில்லை, அவைகளைக் கண்டதுமில்லை." ( ஏசாயா 64 : 4 )

மனிதர்களது வாழ்க்கை இந்த உலகத்துடன் முடிந்துபோகும் ஒன்றல்ல. மாறாக, இந்த உலக வாழ்க்கைக்குப்பின் நமக்கு நித்தியமான ஒரு வாழ்க்கை உள்ளது. இதனை நாம் கண்களால் கண்டதில்லை. அந்த வாழ்க்கை எப்படிப்பட்டதாக இருக்குமென்று நமக்குத் தெரியாது. ஆனால் இவை வேதாகமம் கூறும்  உண்மை. இன்று இவைகளைக்குறித்து நாம்  பேசும்போது பல கிறிஸ்தவர்களே இவற்றை வேடிக்கையாக எண்ணுகின்றனர்; கட்டுக்கதை எனக் கருதுகின்றனர்.  

ஆனால் நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பல வேளைகளில் இதுகுறித்துக் கூறியுள்ளார். எனவே நாம் இதனை நம்புகின்றோம். இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு பொய்ச்சொல்லவேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை. அவர் தான் கண்டவற்றையும், கேட்டவற்றையுமே நமக்குக் கூறியுள்ளார். 

"என் பிதாவின் வீட்டில் அநேக வாசஸ்தலங்கள் உண்டு; அப்படியில்லாதிருந்தால், நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியிருப்பேன்; ஒரு ஸ்தலத்தை உங்களுக்காக ஆயத்தம்பண்ணப்போகிறேன். நான் போய் உங்களுக்காக ஸ்தலத்தை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணினபின்பு, நான் இருக்கிற இடத்திலே நீங்களும் இருக்கும்படி, நான் மறுபடியும் வந்து உங்களை என்னிடத்தில் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளுவேன்." ( யோவான் 14 : 2, 3 ) என்று அவர் கூறவில்லையா? 

இதனையே இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் ஏசாயாவும், "தேவனே, உமக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு நீர் செய்பவைகளை, நீரேயல்லாமல் உலகத்தோற்றமுதற்கொண்டு ஒருவரும் கேட்டதுமில்லை, செவியால் உணர்ந்ததுமில்லை, அவைகளைக் கண்டதுமில்லை" என்று கூறுகின்றார். ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இப்படி ஒரு  நித்திய வாழ்வு இல்லையானால் நாம் இந்த உலகத்தில் நல்ல ஒரு வாழ்க்கை வாழவேண்டிய அவசியமே இல்லை. மிருகங்களைப்போல கண்டபடி வாழ்ந்து மிருகங்களைப் போலவே சாகலாம் அல்லவா?

நாம் உண்மையான ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை வாழாமல், ஆவிக்குரிய அனுபவங்களைப்  பெறாமல் இருப்போமானால் இவைகளெல்லாம் கட்டுக்கதைகளாகவேத்  தெரியும். எனவேதான் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், "மனுஷனிலுள்ள ஆவியேயன்றி மனுஷரில் எவன் மனுஷனுக்குரியவைகளை அறிவான்? அப்படிப்போல, தேவனுடைய ஆவியேயன்றி, ஒருவனும் தேவனுக்குரியவைகளை அறியமாட்டான். நாங்களோ உலகத்தின் ஆவியைப் பெறாமல், தேவனால் எங்களுக்கு அருளப்பட்டவைகளை அறியும்படிக்கு தேவனிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிற ஆவியையே பெற்றோம்." ( 1 கொரிந்தியர் 2 : 11, 12 ) என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

மட்டுமல்ல, ஏசாயா கூறிய வார்த்தைகளையே அவர் மேற்கோளாகப் பயன்படுத்தி இதனை, "எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி: தேவன் தம்மில் அன்புகூருகிறவர்களுக்கு ஆயத்தம்பண்ணினவைகளைக் கண் காணவுமில்லை, காது கேட்கவுமில்லை, அவைகள் மனுஷனுடைய இருதயத்தில் தோன்றவுமில்லை; நமக்கோ தேவன் அவைகளைத் தமது ஆவியினாலே வெளிப்படுத்தினார்; அந்த ஆவியானவர் எல்லாவற்றையும், தேவனுடைய ஆழங்களையும் ஆராய்ந்திருக்கிறார்." ( 1 கொரிந்தியர் 2 : 9, 10 ) என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

ஆம், தேவன் நமக்காக ஆயத்தம்பண்ணிய மேலான ஆசீர்வாதங்களை உலக மனிதர்கள் காணாமல் இருந்தாலும் நமக்கோ தேவன் அவைகளைத் தமது ஆவியினாலே வெளிப்படுத்தினார். எனவேதான் அந்த மேலான வாழ்க்கையினை நாம் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ள ஆர்வமாக இருக்கின்றோம். 

இயேசு கிறிஸ்து வாக்களித்துள்ள இந்த நித்திய ஜீவனைக் குறித்து நமக்குள் உறுதியான விசுவாசம் ஏற்படவேண்டுமானால் முதலில் நாம் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தத்தால் கழுவப்படும் அனுபவத்தைப் பெறவேண்டியது அவசியம். அப்போதுதான் நாம்  அவர்மேல் ஆழமான விசுவாசம் கொண்டவர்களாக வாழமுடியும். அப்போது அவர் கூறிய வார்த்தைகள் கட்டுக்கதையல்ல, நாம் அனுபவித்து மகிழவேண்டிய உண்மையான எதிர்கால உண்மை என்பதனை நாம் நிச்சயமாக உணர்ந்துகொள்ள முடியும். 

ஆம், "என்னிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறவனுக்கு நித்தியஜீவன் உண்டென்று மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்." ( யோவான் 6 : 47 ) என்கிறார் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து. முதலில் நமது பாவங்களை அவரிடம் அறிக்கையிட்டு பாவ மன்னிப்பை வேண்டுவோம். அப்போது நமது இருதயத்தின் இருள் விலகும்; வேதாகம உண்மைகள் நமது ஆத்தும கண்களுக்குத் தெளிவாகப் புரியும்.

"AATHAVAN" Meditation - 1964

"For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, Nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him." — Isaiah 64:4

Human life is not something that ends with this world. On the contrary, after this earthly life, an eternal life awaits us. We have not seen this with our eyes, nor do we know exactly what that life will be like. Yet, these are truths declared by the Bible. Today, when we speak about these things, many Christians themselves view them as a joke and consider them to be myths.

However, our Lord Jesus Christ spoke about this on many occasions. Therefore, we believe it. There is no need for Jesus Christ to lie; He has told us only what He has seen and heard.

Did He not say:

"In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also." — John 14:2-3

Isaiah refers to this exact truth in today’s meditation verse, saying that no one from the beginning of the world has heard, perceived by ear, or seen what God does for those who wait for Him. Yes, dearly beloved, if there were no such thing as eternal life, there would be no need for us to live a good life in this world. We could just live carelessly like animals and die like animals, couldn't we?

If we do not live a true spiritual life and fail to gain spiritual experiences, all of these things will seem like mere myths. That is why the Apostle Paul states:

"For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God." — 1 Corinthians 2:11-12

Furthermore, quoting the very words spoken by Isaiah, he says:

"...just as it is written, 'Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.' For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God." — 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

Yes, even though the people of this world cannot see the supreme blessings that God has prepared for us, God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. That is why we eagerly desire to inherit that higher life.

If we are to have a firm faith within us regarding this eternal life promised by Jesus Christ, it is essential that we first experience being washed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Only then can we live with a deep faith in Him. At that moment, we will certainly realize that the words He spoke are not a myth, but a real future reality that we are meant to experience and rejoice in.

Indeed, the Lord Jesus Christ says:

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life." — John 6:47

Let us first confess our sins to Him and ask for forgiveness. Then, the darkness of our hearts will depart, and the truths of the Bible will become clearly visible to our spiritual eyes.

🦋 Meditation verse - யோபு 31 : 33 / Job 31:33

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1963

ஜூன் 23,  செவ்வாய் 2026  

"நான் ஆதாமைப்போல என் மீறுதல்களை மூடி, என் அக்கிரமத்தை என் மடியிலே ஒளித்துவைத்தேனோ?" ( யோபு 31 : 33 )

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் பக்தனாகிய யோபு தனது கடுமையான துன்பத்தின் காரணமாக மனவேதனையுடன் கூறியதாகும். 

நமது எல்லாத் துன்பங்களுக்கும் நமது பாவங்கள் காரணமல்ல. ஆனால் பொதுவாக மனிதர்கள் தங்களது துன்பங்களுக்கு தங்கள் செய்த பாவமே காரணம் என பலவேளைகளில் எண்ணுகின்றனர். தேவன் மனிதர்களைச் சோதித்தறிய; அவர்களைப் புடமிட  துன்பங்களைக் கொடுப்பதுண்டு. இதனை யோபுவும் அறிவார். எனவேதான் அவர்,  "ஆனாலும் நான் போகும் வழியை அவர் அறிவார்; அவர் என்னைச் சோதித்தபின் நான் பொன்னாக விளங்குவேன்". (யோபு 23:10) என்று கூறினார். 

ஆனால் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் அவர் கூறுவது கவனிக்கத்தக்கது. அடுக்கடுக்கானத் தனது துன்பங்களுக்கு ஒருவேளை தனது பாவம் காரணமாக இருக்குமோ என அவர் எண்ணினார். யோபு தனது பாவங்களை தேவனிடம் அறிக்கையிட்டு மன்னிப்பை வேண்டுபவர்.  எனவே தொடர்ந்த துன்பங்களால் மனம் துவண்டு அவர் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தைக் கூறுகின்றார். மட்டுமல்ல, யோபு தனது பாவங்களுக்காக மட்டுமல்ல, தனது பிள்ளைகளின் பாவங்களுக்காகவும் பரிகாரம் செலுத்துபவர்.

இதனை நாம்,  யோபுவின் புதல்வர்கள் விருந்து கொண்டாடும்போது, "விருந்துசெய்கிற அவரவருடைய நாள்முறை முடிகிறபோது, யோபு: ஒருவேளை என் குமாரர் பாவஞ்செய்து, தேவனைத் தங்கள் இருதயத்திலே தூஷித்திருப்பார்கள் என்று சொல்லி, அவர்களை அழைத்தனுப்பி, பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தி, அதிகாலமே எழுந்து, அவர்கள் எல்லாருடைய இலக்கத்தின்படியேயும் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளைச் செலுத்துவான்; இந்தப்பிரகாரமாக யோபு அந்நாட்களிலெல்லாம் செய்துவருவான்." ( யோபு 1 : 5 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

எனவேதான் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் அவர், ஆண்டவரே ஏன் எனக்கு இத்தனைத் துன்பம்? நான் ஆதாமைப்போல என் மீறுதல்களை மூடி, என் அக்கிரமத்தை என் மடியிலே ஒளித்துவைத்தேனோ? என்று கேட்கின்றார். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, ஆதாம் பாவம் செய்தபோது தேவனிடம் அதனை மறைத்தான். தேவன் அவனிடம் அவன் செய்த மீறுதல் குறித்துக் கேட்டபோது ஆதாம் தனது பாவத்தை ஒப்புக்கொள்ளாமல், மன்னிப்புக் கேட்காமல்,  "என்னுடனே இருக்கும்படி தேவரீர் தந்த ஸ்திரீயானவள் அவ்விருட்சத்தின் கனியை எனக்குக் கொடுத்தாள், நான் புசித்தேன் என்றான்." ( ஆதியாகமம் 3 : 12 ) அதாவது, தேவன் ஒரு பெண்ணை அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்ததால்தான் அவன் பாவம் செய்ததாகக் கூறுகின்றான்.   ஒருவிதத்தில் இது தேவனையே குற்றப்படுத்துவதுபோல இருக்கின்றது. ஆனால், நான் அப்படி எனது பாவத்தை மூடி மறைக்கவில்லையே? பின் ஏன் எனக்கு இத்தனைத் துன்பம் எனக் கேட்கின்றார் யோபு. 

இன்றைய தியானம் நமக்குத் தரும் சிந்தனை இதுதான்:- நாம் யோபுவைபோல இப்படி நமது அனைத்துப் பாவங்களையும் மூடி மறைக்காமல் தேவனிடம்  அறிக்கையிட்டுள்ளோமா?  யோபு தேவனிடம் கேட்டதுபோல நம்மால் தேவனிடம், "நான் ஆதாமைப்போல என் மீறுதல்களை மூடி, என் அக்கிரமத்தை என் மடியிலே ஒளித்துவைத்தேனோ?" என்று தைரியமாகக் கேட்கமுடியுமா? 

அன்பானவர்களே, சிறிய பாவமோ பெரிய பாவமோ எதுவானாலும் மூடி மறைக்காமல் தேவனிடம் அறிக்கையிட்டு மன்னிப்பை வேண்டுவோம். வேதாகமம் நம்மை எச்சரித்து அறிவுறுத்துகின்றது,  "தன் பாவங்களை மறைக்கிறவன் வாழ்வடையமாட்டான்; அவைகளை அறிக்கை செய்து விட்டுவிடுகிறவனோ இரக்கம் பெறுவான்." ( நீதிமொழிகள் 28 : 13 )

"Have I covered my wrongdoings like Adam, by hiding my guilt in my shirt pocket?" — Job 31:33 (NASB)

Today's meditation verse was spoken out of deep mental agony by the devout man Job due to his severe suffering.

Our sins are not the cause of all our sufferings. However, people often tend to think that their own sins are the reason behind their afflictions. God sometimes allows trials and afflictions to test and refine humans. Job knew this well. That is why he confidently declared:

"But He knows the way I take; when He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold." — Job 23:10 (NASB)

Yet, what he says in today's meditation verse is highly noteworthy. He wondered if, perhaps, his sins were the cause of his successive waves of suffering. Job was someone who routinely confessed his sins to God and sought forgiveness. Feeling discouraged by continuous afflictions, he spoke today's verse. Furthermore, Job did not just seek atonement for his own sins, but also for the sins of his children.

We read about this practice when Job's sons would hold feasts:

"When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send word and consecrate them, rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, 'Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.' Job did so continually." — Job 1:5 (NASB)

This is why, in today's meditation verse, he questions: "Lord, why so much suffering for me? Have I covered my wrongdoings like Adam, by hiding my guilt in my shirt pocket?"

Yes, dearly beloved, when Adam sinned, he tried to hide it from God. When God questioned him about his transgression, Adam did not admit his sin or seek forgiveness. Instead, he said:

"The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate." > — Genesis 3:12 (NASB)

In a way, he was shifting the blame onto God for giving him the woman. But Job argues, "I have not covered or hidden my sins like that. Then why do I face such immense suffering?"

Food for Thought

The reflection today's meditation offers us is this: Have we, like Job, confessed all our sins to God without covering or hiding them? Can we boldly ask God, as Job did, "Have I covered my wrongdoings like Adam, by hiding my guilt in my shirt pocket?"

Dearly beloved, whether a sin is big or small, let us not cover or hide it. Instead, let us confess it to God and seek His forgiveness. The Bible warns and counsels us:

"One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, but one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion." — Proverbs 28:13 (NASB)

🦋 Meditation verse - சங்கீதம் 39 : 7 / Psalm 39:7

"ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1962                                                      ஜூன் 22,  திங்கள் 2026  

"இப்போதும் ஆண்டவரே, நான் எதற்கு எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்? நீரே என் நம்பிக்கை." ( சங்கீதம் 39 : 7 )

இன்று பெரும்பாலான மக்களது ஜெபங்களும் தேவனிடமிருந்து எதையாவது பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டும் எனும் ஒரே நோக்கத்தின் அடிப்படையிலேயே இருப்பதை  நாம் உணரலாம். இதனை நாம்  "பெறும் மனப்பான்மை" (Receiving Mentality) என்று கூறலாம். இத்தகைய மனிதர்கள், "நான் விசுவாசத்துடன் ஜெபிக்கிறேன்" என்று கூறிக்கொண்டாலும் இவர்களிடம் தேவன் மேல் முழு விசுவாசம் இல்லை என்றுதான்  பொருள். பெறும் மனப்பான்மையிலிருந்து நாம் கொடுக்கும் மனப்பான்மைக்கு மாறவேண்டியது அவசியம். ஆம், தேவனுக்கு நமது முழு அன்பினையும் கொடுப்பவர்களாக நாம் மாறவேண்டும். 

நாம் இந்த உலகத்தில் பிறந்து வாழ்ந்து எத்தனையோ ஆண்டுகளாக ஜெபிக்காமல்தான் இருந்திருப்போம். ஆனால் இன்று ஒருவேளை நமக்கு அறுபது, அறுபத்தைந்து அல்லது எழுபதோ அதற்குமேலோ வயதாகியிருக்கலாம். இத்தனை ஆண்டுகள் தேவன் நம்மை நமது ஜெபத்தின் அடிப்படையில் பராமரிக்கவில்லை. மாறாக, தனது கிருபையினால் வழிநடத்தியுள்ளார். இதனையே இயேசு கிறிஸ்து, "உங்கள் பிதாவை நோக்கி நீங்கள் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறதற்கு முன்னமே உங்களுக்கு இன்னது தேவை என்று அவர் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்" ( மத்தேயு 6 : 8 ) என்று கூறினார். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் கர்த்தர்மேல் அன்பு வைத்து அவரை முற்றிலும் அடைந்துகொள்ள வாஞ்சித்து விரும்புவதே மேலான ஜெபம். இதுவே முழு விசுவாசம். என் தேவன் என்னை நடத்துவார் என்று நம்பிக்கையுடன் இருந்து அவரையே அடைந்துகொள்ள விருப்புவதுதான் மேலான விசுவாச ஜெபம். ஆம், இப்படி "கர்த்தர்மேல் நம்பிக்கைவைத்து, கர்த்தரைத் தன் நம்பிக்கையாகக் கொண்டிருக்கிற மனுஷன் பாக்கியவான்." ( எரேமியா 17 : 7 )

இதனையே இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் தாவீது, "இப்போதும் ஆண்டவரே, நான் எதற்கு எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்? நீரே என் நம்பிக்கை" என்று கூறுகின்றார். அதாவது, ஆண்டவரே, நான் உம்மிடம் என்ன எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கிறேன் என்று எனக்குத் தெரியவில்லை; அது உமக்கேத் தெரியும். நான் உம்மையே நம்பிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றேன் என்கின்றார் அவர். 

எனவேதான் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தின் முந்தின வசனத்தில் அவர் "வேஷமாகவே மனுஷன் திரிகிறான்; விருதாவாகவே சஞ்சலப்படுகிறான்; ஆஸ்தியைச் சேர்க்கிறான். யார் அதை வாரிக்கொள்ளுவான் என்று அறியான்" ( சங்கீதம் 39 : 6 ) என்று கூறுகின்றார். அதாவது, ஜெபிப்பதுபோல மனிதர்கள் செய்வது வேஷம்தான். அவர்கள் பல உலக அசீர்வாதங்களுக்காக வீணாகச் சஞ்சலப்படுகின்றார்கள். ஆஸ்திகளைச் சேர்க்கவேண்டும் என்று விரும்பி ஜெபிக்கின்றார்கள். ஆனால் அவற்றை  பிற்பாடு யார் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்போகிறார்கள் என்று அவர்கள் அறியார்கள். 

இப்படிக்கூறிவிட்டு, இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில்  தாவீது கூறுகின்றார், ஆணடவரே, நான் அப்படியல்ல; "நான் எதற்கு எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்? நீரே என் நம்பிக்கை" என்று.

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, தேவனிடம் எதிர்பார்ப்பில்லாத அன்பு செலுத்தும்போது,  "என் தேவன் என்னையும் எனது பிள்ளைகள், பேரப்பிள்ளைகளையும் ஆசீர்வாதமாக நடத்துவார் எனும் விசுவாசத்தை நமக்குள் கொண்டுவரும்.  

நாளை நடப்பது நமக்குத் தெரியாது; எதிர்காலத்தைக்குறித்து நமக்கு நூறுசதம் அறிவு கிடையாது. பின் எப்படி நாம் சரியானமுறையில் நமது விண்ணப்பங்களை தேவனிடம் எடுத்துக்கூறமுடியும்? எனவே, முழு அன்புடன் தேவனைச் சார்ந்து அவரை முற்றிலும் அடைந்துகொள்ளவே நாம் ஜெபிக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். நாம் பலவீனமான மனிதர்கள். எனவே, "அந்தப்படியே ஆவியானவரும் நமது பலவீனங்களில் நமக்கு உதவிசெய்கிறார். நாம் ஏற்றபடி வேண்டிக்கொள்ளவேண்டியது இன்னதென்று  அறியாமலிருக்கிறபடியால், ஆவியானவர்தாமே வாக்குக்கடங்காத பெருமூச்சுகளோடு நமக்காக வேண்டுதல்செய்கிறார்." ( ரோமர் 8 : 26 )

எனவே, "இப்போதும் ஆண்டவரே, நான் எதற்கு எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்? நீரே என் நம்பிக்கை" எனத்  தாவீது கூறுவதுபோல நாமும் கூறுவோம். நமது நம்பிக்கையின்படியே தேவன் நம்மைக் கைவிடாமல் நடத்துவார்.

"And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You." — Psalm 39:7

Today, we can perceive that the prayers of most people are based on the sole purpose of receiving something from God. We can call this a "Receiving Mentality." Even though such individuals claim, "I am praying with faith," it actually means they lack complete faith in God. It is essential for us to shift from a receiving mentality to a giving mentality. Yes, we must transform into people who give our complete love to God.

We were born into this world and lived for so many years, perhaps without praying at all. But today, we might be sixty, sixty-five, seventy, or even older. All these years, God did not sustain us based on our prayers. Rather, He has guided us by His grace. It is precisely this that Jesus Christ spoke of:

"...for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." — Matthew 6:8

Yes, dearly beloved, loving the Lord and yearning to possess Him entirely is the higher form of prayer. This is complete faith. To live with the confidence that "my God will lead me" and to desire Him above all else is the ultimate prayer of faith. Indeed, "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose trust is the Lord." (Jeremiah 17:7).

This is exactly what David says in today’s meditation verse: "And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You." In other words, he is saying, "Lord, I do not know what I am expecting from You; You alone know it. I place my hope in You entirely."

That is why, in the verse preceding today’s meditation text, he says:

"Barely as a phantom does a person walk; barely for nothing are they in turmoil; he amasses riches and does not know who will gather them." — Psalm 39:6

This means that what people do under the guise of prayer is often just a mere show (a phantom). They needlessly worry themselves over various worldly blessings. They pray with a desire to amass wealth, yet they do not know who will gather or inherit it afterward.

After stating this, David declares in today’s meditation verse: "Lord, I am not like that; 'And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.'"

Yes, dearly beloved, when we offer God a love that is free from worldly expectations, it brings a deep faith within us that "my God will blessedly lead me, my children, and my grandchildren."

We do not know what tomorrow holds; we have zero percent knowledge about the future. How then can we present our petitions to God in the right manner? Therefore, it is essential that we pray to depend on God with complete love and to possess Him entirely. We are weak human beings. Therefore:

"Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words." — Romans 8:26

Therefore, let us also say, just as David says: "And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You." According to our faith, God will never forsake us but will surely lead us.

🦋 Meditation verse - 1 பேதுரு 3 : 15 / 1 Peter 3:15

"ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1961

ஜூன் 21,  ஞாயிறு 2026  

"கர்த்தராகிய தேவனை உங்கள் இருதயங்களில் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணுங்கள்; உங்களிலிருக்கிற நம்பிக்கையைக் குறித்து உங்களிடத்தில் விசாரித்துக் கேட்கிற யாவருக்கும் சாந்தத்தோடும் வணக்கத்தோடும் உத்தரவுசொல்ல எப்பொழுதும் ஆயத்தமாயிருங்கள்." ( 1 பேதுரு 3 : 15 )

பொதுவாகப் பல கிறிஸ்தவர்களும் ஆலயங்களைக் கடந்து செல்லும்போது அதனைப்பார்த்துப்  பணிவாக வணங்குவதுண்டு. காரணம், அங்கு பரிசுத்தரான தேவன் இருக்கின்றார் என்பதால்தான்.  பலரும் ஆலய வளாகத்துக்குள் கெட்டவார்த்தைகள் பேசுவது கிடையாது, மது அருந்துவதோ, புகைபிடிப்பதோ கிடையாது. காரணம்  அவர்கள் அங்கு பரிசுத்தரான தேவன் இருக்கின்றார் என்று எண்ணுவதால்தான். இப்படிச் சில காரியங்களை ஆலய வளாகத்தினுள் பலரும் செய்வதில்லை. 

ஆனால், ஆலய வளாகத்தினுள் வைத்து நடைபெறும் ஆலயக் கமிட்டி கூட்டங்களிலும், இதர நிர்வாகக் குழு கூட்டங்களிலும், குறிப்பிட்ட அமைப்பினரின் கூடுகைகளிலும்  இந்த கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் நடந்துகொள்வது வித்தியாசமாக இருக்கும். அங்கு இவர்கள் தங்களோடு இருக்கும் இதர நிர்வாகக்குழு உறுப்பினர்களுக்கு எதிராகக் கோஷ்டிகளாகப் பிரிந்து மூன்றாம்தர அரசியல்வாதிகளைவிடக் கேவலமாக நடந்துகொள்வார்கள்; வஞ்சகமும், நரித்தனங்களும் இவர்களுக்குள் நிறைந்து காணப்படும். எப்படி அடுத்தவனைக் கெடுக்கலாம், அல்லது அவனது அதிகாரத்தைப் பறிக்கலாம் என்றே முயன்று நடந்துகொள்வார்கள். 

ஆனால் இத்தகைய தங்களது செயலைப்   பரிசுத்தரான தேவன் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றார் என்று எண்ணுவது கிடையாது.  இதற்குக் காரணம் இவர்கள் தேவனைத் தங்களது  இருதயத்தில் பரிசுத்தம் பண்ணாமல் இருப்பதுதான். எனவேதான் இன்றைய தியான வசனம், "கர்த்தராகிய தேவனை உங்கள் இருதயங்களில் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணுங்கள்" என்று அறிவுறுத்துகின்றது. 

தேவனை இருதயத்தில் பரிசுத்தம் பண்ணும்போதுதான் நாம் உண்மையான பரிசுத்தர்களாக மாறமுடியும். காரணம், இருதயத்தின் நிறைவுதான் வாய்மூலம் வெளிவரும். "விரியன் பாம்புக் குட்டிகளே, நீங்கள் பொல்லாதவர்களாயிருக்க, நலமானவைகளை எப்படிப் பேசுவீர்கள்? இருதயத்தின் நிறைவினால் வாய் பேசும்." ( மத்தேயு 12 : 34 )  என்று இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறவில்லையா?

மேலும், "வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிறவைகள் இருதயத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுவரும்; அவைகளே மனுஷனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும். எப்படியெனில், இருதயத்திலிருந்து பொல்லாத சிந்தனைகளும், கொலைபாதகங்களும், விபசாரங்களும், வேசித்தனங்களும், களவுகளும், பொய்ச்சாட்சிகளும், தூஷணங்களும் புறப்பட்டுவரும்." ( மத்தேயு 15 : 18, 19 ) என்றார் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து. 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நமது இருதயத்தை கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு முற்றிலும் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்காமல் நாம் பரிசுத்தர்களாக மாற முடியாது. இப்படி நாம் நமது இருதயத்தை முற்றிலுமாக அவருக்கு ஏற்புடையது ஆக்கினால்தான் தேவனது வார்த்தைகள் நமக்குள் தங்கும். இல்லாவிட்டால் நாம் ஆயிரம் முறை வேதாகமத்தை வாசித்தாலும் நமக்குப் பயனிருக்காது. 

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் தொடர்ந்து கூறுகின்றது, "உங்களிலிருக்கிற நம்பிக்கையைக்குறித்து உங்களிடத்தில் விசாரித்துக் கேட்கிற யாவருக்கும் சாந்தத்தோடும் வணக்கத்தோடும் உத்தரவுசொல்ல எப்பொழுதும் ஆயத்தமாயிருங்கள்" என்று. அதாவது, முதலில் நாம் முதலில் தேவனை நமது இருதயத்தில் பரிசுத்தம் பண்ணவேண்டும்; அப்படிப் பரிசுத்தம் பண்ணினால்தான்  அவரது வார்த்தைகள் நமக்குள் தங்கும்; அப்படித் தங்கினால்தான் நமது நம்பிக்கையைக்குறித்து நம்மிடம் விசாரித்துக் கேட்கிற யாவருக்கும் சாந்தத்தோடும் வணக்கத்தோடும் நாம் பதில் சொல்ல முடியும்.  

இப்படி நாம் முதலில் தேவனை நமது இருதயங்களில் பரிசுத்தம் பண்ணும்போதுதான் நம்மிடம் நமது நம்பிக்கையினைக்குறித்து கேள்வி கேட்கும் பிற மத அன்பர்களுக்கு நாம் தெளிவான பதிலைக் கூறி கிறிஸ்துவிடம் வழிநடத்த முடியும்.  நமது இருதயத்தை கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கழுவி சுத்திகரிக்கும்படி ஒப்புக்கொடுப்போம்.  அப்போது ஆலய வளாகத்தினுள் மட்டுமல்ல, எல்லா இடங்களிலும் நமது பேச்சும் செயலும் சாட்சியுள்ளவையாக மாறும்.

"AATHAVAN" Meditation - 1961

June 21, Sunday 2026

"But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defence to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence." — 1 Peter 3:15

Generally, many Christians tend to bow respectfully whenever they pass by a church building. The reason for this is their belief that the Holy God dwells there. Many will not utter foul language, drink alcohol, or smoke within the church premises. This is because they perceive that the Holy God is present there. Thus, many avoid doing certain things inside the church grounds.

However, the way these same Christians behave during church committee meetings, other administrative board meetings, and specific organizational gatherings held right inside the church premises is starkly different. There, they divide themselves into factions against their fellow board members, behaving worse than third-rate politicians; deceit and craftiness fill their hearts. They constantly plot how to bring someone else down or how to usurp another's authority.

Yet, they fail to consider that the Holy God is watching their actions. The root cause of this is that they have not sanctified God in their hearts. That is why today's meditation verse admonishes us, "But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts."

Only when we sanctify God in our hearts can we transform into truly holy people. This is because whatever fills the heart is what overflows through the mouth. Did Jesus Christ not say:

"You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart." — Matthew 12:34

Furthermore, Jesus Christ said:

"But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders." — Matthew 15:18, 19

Yes, dearly beloved, we cannot become holy without completely surrendering our hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ. Only when we make our hearts entirely acceptable to Him will the Word of God abide in us. Otherwise, even if we read the Bible a thousand times, it will be of no use to us.

Today's meditation verse goes on to say, "always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence." This means that first, we must sanctify God in our hearts. Only when we sanctify Him will His words dwell within us; and only when His words dwell within us can we give an answer with gentleness and reverence to anyone who questions us about our hope.

When we first sanctify God in our hearts in this manner, we will be able to give clear answers and guide friends of other faiths—who ask us about our hope—toward Christ. Let us submit our hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ to be washed and cleansed. Then, our words and actions will become a powerful testimony not just inside the church premises, but everywhere we go.

🦋 Meditation verse - 1 இராஜாக்கள் 19 : 19 / 1 Kings 19:19

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1960 

ஜூன் 20,  சனி  2026  

"அப்படியே அவன் (எலியா) அவ்விடம் விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், பன்னிரண்டு ஏர்பூட்டி உழுத சாப்பாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய எலிசாவைக் கண்டான்; அவன் பன்னிரண்டாம் ஏரை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்; எலியா அவன் இருக்கும் இடமட்டும் போய், அவன்மேல் தன் சால்வையைப் போட்டான்." ( 1 இராஜாக்கள் 19 : 19 )

தேவன் தனது கிருபையினால் நம்மை அழைத்தாலும், நாம் தேவனுக்கு ஏற்புடைய வாழ்க்கை வாழ்வதற்கு நமக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரின் அபிஷேகம் மட்டுமல்ல, நமது சுய அர்ப்பணிப்பும் தேவையாக இருக்கின்றது. அப்படி இருந்தால் மட்டுமே நாம் மேலான ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையினை வாழமுடியும். 

எலியா, எலிசாவை ஊழியத்துக்கு அழைத்தச் செய்தி; அழைத்த விதம் இவைகளை இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம். வேதாகமம் கூறும் அடிப்படையில் பார்த்தால் எலிசா செல்வந்தனான ஒரு மனிதனாக இருக்கவேண்டுமென்று நாம் கணிக்கலாம். காரணம்,  எலிசா உழவுசெய்துகொண்டிருந்த பெரிய நிலத்தில் பன்னிரெண்டாம் ஏரை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்  என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. அப்படியானால் அவருக்கு அதிகமான நிலம் இருந்திருக்கலாம். 

"எலியா அவன் இருக்கும் இடமட்டும் போய், அவன்மேல் தன் சால்வையைப் போட்டான்" என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது  எலியா வழியாக தேவன் எலிசாவுக்கு பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரை அளித்ததைக் குறிக்கின்றது. இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் ஆடையில் வல்லமையான ஆவியின் அபிஷேகம் இருந்ததைப்போல எலியாவின் சால்வையில் ஆவியின் அபிஷேகம் இருந்தது. எனவே, எலியா வாயினால் எதுவும் கூறாமலே எலிசா தேவ அழைப்பைப் புரிந்துகொண்டார். ஆவியானவரின் வல்லமை அவரில் அதிகமாகச் செயல்படத்துவங்கியது. 

அன்பானவர்களே, ஆவியானவரின் அழைப்பை எலியா வழியாகப் புரிந்துகொண்டதும் அவரால் அவரையே கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியவில்லை. எலியாவிடம் அதுகுறித்து விளக்கமும் கேட்கவில்லை. மாறாக, உடனேயே எலிசா தனது வீட்டிற்குப் போய்த்  தாய்தகப்பனிடம் சொல்லிவிட்டுத் திரும்பி வருகின்றார். அப்போது அவரது மனதினில் "நாம் எக்காரணம் கொண்டும் மீண்டும் பின்மாறி பழைய வேலைக்கு வந்துவிடக்கூடாது" என எண்ணம் ஏற்படுகின்றது.  எனவே, பழைய வேலைக்கான அடிப்படைக் கருவிகளையே அழித்துவிட முடிவெடுத்தார்.  

"அப்பொழுது அவன் இவனை விட்டுப் போய், ஒரு ஏர் மாடுகளைப் பிடித்து அடித்து, ஏரின் மரமுட்டுகளால் அவைகளின் இறைச்சியைச் சமைத்து ஜனங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அவர்கள் சாப்பிட்டபிற்பாடு, அவன் எழுந்து, எலியாவுக்குப் பின்சென்று அவனுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்தான்." ( 1 இராஜாக்கள் 19 : 21 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

இன்று இந்தச் செய்தி நமக்கு உணர்த்துவது கவனிக்கத்தக்கது. ஆம்  அன்பானவர்களே, தேவனுக்கென்று நாம் எடுக்கும் முடிவில் உறுதியுள்ளவர்களாக வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம். "இருமனமுள்ளவன் தன் வழிகளிலெல்லாம் நிலையற்றவனாய் இருக்கிறான்" ( யாக்கோபு 1 : 8 ) என்பதனை எலிசா உணர்ந்திருந்தார். எனவே, தனது அழைப்பைக்குறித்து பிற்காலத்தில் குழப்பம் ஏற்பட்டாலும் தேவனுக்காக அதனால் வரும் இழப்பையும் அவர் ஏற்றுகொள்ளத் தயாராக இருந்தார்.  

அதுவரைத் தனக்கு வாழ்வாதாரமாக இருந்த தனது அடிப்படை வேலைக் கருவிகளையும், உழவு மாடுகளையும் அழித்துவிட்டு தேவனையே முற்றிலும் சார்ந்துகொண்டார். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, கிறிஸ்துவைவிட்டு நம்மைப் பிரிக்கும் அல்லது கிறிஸ்துவின்மேல் முழு அன்பையும் நாம் செலுத்தத் தடையாக இருப்பவைகளை நாம் முற்றிலும் நம்மைவிட்டு அகற்றிடத்  தயங்கிடாமல் இருப்போம். குறைந்தபட்சம் நமது கைபேசியில் முகநூல், இன்ஸ்டாகிராம் போன்றச் செயலிகளையாவது அகற்றிவிட முயல்வோமா? ஆம், இன்று அவைகளே நம்மைக் கிறிஸ்துவைவிட்டுப் பிரிப்பதில் முன்னணியில் இருக்கின்றன.  எலிசா துணித்து செய்தார். நாம் ?

"So, he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, while he was ploughing with twelve pairs of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth. And Elijah passed over to him and threw his mantle on him." — 1 Kings 19:19 (NASB)

Even though God calls us by His grace, for us to live a life acceptable to Him, we need not only the anointing of the Holy Spirit but also our own self-surrender. Only then can we live a higher spiritual life.

In today's meditation verse, we read about the message of how Elijah called Elisha into ministry and the manner in which he called him. Based on what the Bible says, we can infer that Elisha must have been a wealthy man. The reason is that it is stated Elisha was ploughing with the twelfth pair of oxen in a large field. If that was the case, he likely owned a vast amount of land.

It is written, "Elijah passed over to him and threw his mantle on him." This signifies that God, through Elijah, bestowed the Holy Spirit upon Elisha. Just as there was a powerful anointing of the Spirit in the garment of Jesus Christ, there was an anointing of the Spirit in Elijah's mantle. Therefore, without Elijah saying a single word, Elisha understood the divine call. The power of the Spirit began to move mightily within him.

Beloved, once he understood the calling of the Spirit through Elijah, he could not contain himself. He did not ask Elijah for explanations either. Instead, Elisha immediately went home to inform his parents and returned. At that moment, a thought arose in his mind: "For no reason should I backslide and return to my old occupation." Therefore, he decided to completely destroy the very tools of his old trade.

We read in scripture:

"So he returned from following him, and took the pair of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the implements of the oxen, and gave it to the people and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah and ministered to him." — 1 Kings 19:21 (NASB)

It is worth noting what this message teaches us today. Yes, beloved, it is essential that we remain firm in the decisions we make for God. Elisha was well aware that "a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways" (James 1:8, NASB). Therefore, even if confusion about his calling were to arise in the future, he was prepared to accept any loss that came with standing for God.

He destroyed his oxen and his basic farming tools—which until then had been his very livelihood—and relied entirely on God.

Yes, beloved, let us not hesitate to completely remove from our lives the things that separate us from Christ or hinder us from giving Him our full love. Shall we at least try to delete apps like Facebook and Instagram from our mobile phones? Yes, today, these are at the forefront of separating us from Christ. Elisha acted decisively. What about us?
