அன்புடன் கொடுத்தல் / GIVING WITH LOVE

ஆதவன் 🔥 970🌻 செப்டம்பர் 24, 2023 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை

"தரித்திரர் எப்பொழுதும் உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கிறார்கள்; நான் எப்பொழுதும் உங்களிடத்தில் இரேன்." ( யோவான் 12 : 8 )

ஏழைகளுக்குக் கொடுப்பது கடவுளுக்குக் கொடுப்பதுதான். வேதாகமத்திலும்,  "ஏழைக்கு இரங்குகிறவன் கர்த்தருக்குக் கடன்கொடுக்கிறான்; அவன் கொடுத்ததை அவர் திரும்பக் கொடுப்பார்." ( நீதிமொழிகள் 19 : 17 ) என்றுதான் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

ஆனால் பெரிய பணக்காரர்கள் ஆலயங்களுக்குக்  கோடிக்கணக்கான பணத்தைக் காணிக்கைக் கொடுப்பதைப் பார்க்கும்போது நம்மில் பலரும், "இந்தப் பணத்தை எத்தனையோ ஏழைகளுக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கலாம், இப்படி வீணாக கடவுளுக்கென்று கொடுக்கின்றாரே" என எண்ணுவதுண்டு.  ஆனால் ஒருவர் உள்ளன்போடு கடவுளுக்குக் கொடுக்கின்றாரா அல்லது வீண் பெருமைக்காகக் கொடுக்கின்றாரா என்பது நமக்குத் தெரியாது. 

இன்றைய வசனத்தின் பின்னணியை நாம் பார்ப்போமானால் இது தெளிவாகும். மார்த்தாளும் மரியாளும் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு விருந்து ஏற்பாடு செய்தனர். அப்போது மரியாள் விலை உயர்ந்த நறுமணத் தைலத்தை  இயேசுவின் பாதங்களில் பூசி அதனைத் தனது கூந்தலால் துடைத்தாள். "அப்பொழுது அவருடைய சீஷரில் ஒருவனும் அவரைக் காட்டிகொடுக்கப்போகிறவனுமாகிய சீமோனுடைய குமாரனான யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து: இந்தத் தைலத்தை முந்நூறு பணத்துக்கு விற்று, தரித்திரருக்குக் கொடாமல் போனதென்ன என்றான்."( யோவான் 12 : 5 )

அன்பானவர்களே, பண ஆசையால் நிறைந்தவர்களது எண்ணம் எதனையும் பணத்தால்தான் கணக்கிடும்.  யூதாஸ் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் பணத்துக்கு கணக்கு வைத்திருந்தவன். பணப்பை அவனிடம்தான் இருந்தது. அவன் அவ்வப்போது தனது செலவுக்கு அதிலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொள்வதுமுண்டு என்று நாம் ஒருங்கிணைந்த வேதாகமத்தில் வாசிக்கின்றோம். ஆம், "அவன் தரித்திரரைக்குறித்துக் கவலைப்பட்டு இப்படிச் சொல்லாமல், அவன் திருடனானபடியினாலும், பணப்பையை வைத்துக்கொண்டு அதிலே போடப்பட்டதைச் சுமக்கிறவனானபடியினாலும் இப்படிச் சொன்னான்." ( யோவான் 12 : 6 )

அவனுக்கு மறுமொழியாக "தரித்திரர் எப்பொழுதும் உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கிறார்கள்; நான் எப்பொழுதும் உங்களிடத்தில் இரேன்" என்று இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறுகின்றார். இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு மரியாளின் உள்ளான அன்பு தெரிந்திருந்தது. ஆனால் யூதாசுக்கு அந்த தைலத்தின் விலை மட்டும் தெரிந்திருந்தது. 

ஒருவர் ஆலயத்துக்குச் செய்வதையும் கடவுள் பணிகளுக்குக் கொடுப்பதையும் எளிதாக நாம் கணக்கிட்டுவிடக்கூடாது. ஏனெனில் கொடுப்பவரது உள்ளான மனநிலை அவர் தேவனிடம் கொண்டுள்ள அன்பு இவைகளைக்குறித்து நமக்குத் தெரியாது. நாமும்,  "இதனை ஏழைகளுக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கலாமே" என்று கூறுவோமானால்  ஒருவேளை யூதாசுக்குக் கூறியதுபோல அவர் நமக்கும் கூறுவார்.   

மற்றவர்கள் கொடுக்கும் காணிக்கைகளையும் இதர ஊழிய பணிகளுக்குக் கொடுப்பதையும் நாம் கணக்கிட்டு விமரிசனம் செய்து பாவம் செய்திட வேண்டாம். ஏழைகளுக்கு கொடுக்க நமது உள்ளத்தில் உணர்த்தப்பட்டால் ஏழைகளுக்குக் கொடுப்போம்; ஆலயப் பணிகளுக்குக் கொடுக்க விருப்பப்பட்டால் ஆலய காரியங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்போம். தரித்திரர் எப்பொழுதும் நம்மிடம் இருக்கிறார்கள்; விரும்பும்போதெல்லாம் கொடுக்கலாம்.

“For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.” ( John 12 : 8 )

Giving to the poor is giving to God. Also, in the Bible it is said, "He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again." (Proverbs 19: 17)  

But when we see rich people donating crores of money to temples, many of us think, "This money could have been given to so many poor people, but they are giving it to God in vain." But we do not know whether one is giving from the heart to God or for vain glory.

This becomes clear if we look at the background of today's verse. Martha and Mary prepared a feast for Jesus Christ. Then Mary rubbed expensive perfume on Jesus' feet and wiped it with her hair. "Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?" (John 12: 5)

Beloved, the mind of a moneyed person calculates everything in terms of money. Judas was the accountant of Jesus Christ's money. He had the wallet. We read in the Catholic Bible translation that he takes from it at times for his expenses. Yes, "This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein." (John 12: 6)

In response to him, Jesus Christ says, “the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.” Jesus Christ knew Mary's inner love. But Judas only knew the price of the perfume.

We should not easily calculate what one does to the temple and what one gives to God's works. Because we don't know about the giver's heart and his love for God. If we too say, "This money could have been given to so many poor people, but they are giving it to God in vain” perhaps He will say to us as He said to Judas.

Let us not commit the sin of counting and criticizing the offerings given by others and giving to other ministries. If our heart prompts us to give to the poor, give to the poor; If we want to give to church work, give to church work. The poor are always with us; we can give whenever we want.
