📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1872

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 24, செவ்வாய்              

"கழுகு தன் கூட்டைக் கலைத்து, தன் குஞ்சுகளின்மேல் அசைவாடி, தன் செட்டைகளை விரித்து, அவைகளை எடுத்து, அவைகளைத் தன் செட்டைகளின்மேல் சுமந்துகொண்டு போகிறதுபோல, கர்த்தர் ஒருவரே அவனை வழிநடத்தினார், அந்நிய தேவன் அவரோடே இருந்ததில்லை." ( உபாகமம் 32: 11, 12)

இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தை வாசித்தப்பின் கழுகுகளைக்குறித்து மேலும் அறிந்தால் நல்லது என்று தோன்றியது. வலைத்தளத்தில் கழுகுகளைக்குறித்துத் தேடியபோது  ஒரு செய்தி இந்த வசனத்துக்குப் பொருந்துவதாக இருப்பதைக் கண்டுபிடித்தேன். 

கழுகுக் குஞ்சுகள் சிறகுமுளைத்து பறக்கும் காலம் வரும்போது அவை எளிதில் தங்களது கூடுகளைவிட்டு வெளிவருவதில்லை. தாய்க்கழுகு கொண்டு வரும் உணவையே அவை எதிர்பார்த்துக் காத்திருக்கும். குஞ்சுகள் இப்படியே இருந்தால் நல்லதல்ல என்பது தாய்க் கழுகுக்குத் தெரியும். எனவே அது குஞ்சுகளை வெளியேற்ற, குஞ்சுகள் இருக்கும் கூட்டினைத் தனது அலகினால் கொத்திக்  கலைத்துவிடும். இப்போது குஞ்சுகளுக்குத் தங்கியிருக்கக் கூடு இல்லாமல்போகும். 

அப்போது அவை வேறு வழியின்றி தாய்க் கழுகை நோக்கிப்பார்க்கும். தாய்க் கழுகு குஞ்சுகளைத் தனது முதுகின்மேல்  அமரவைத்து உயரமாகப் பறந்து, குறிப்பிட்ட உயரம் வந்ததும் அவைகளைக்  கீழே தள்ளிவிடும். வேறு வழியின்றி குஞ்சுகள்  சிறகினை அடித்துப் பறக்க முயலும். தாய்க் கழுகு குஞ்சுகளைக் கவனமாகப் பார்த்துத் தனது சிறகினால் அவ்வப்போது தாங்கிக்கொள்ளும். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, யாக்கோபைத் தேவன் இப்படித்தான் தாங்கினார் என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. "கர்த்தர் ஒருவரே அவனை வழிநடத்தினார், அந்நிய தேவன் அவரோடே இருந்ததில்லை" என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. இதற்கு முந்தின வசனத்தில் நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம், "பாழான நிலத்திலும் ஊளையிடுதலுள்ள வெறுமையான அவாந்தர வெளியிலும் அவர் அவனைக் கண்டுபிடித்தார், அவனை நடத்தினார், அவனை உணர்த்தினார், அவனைத் தமது கண்மணியைப் போலக் காத்தருளினார்." ( உபாகமம் 32: 10) என்று. 

யாக்கோபை வழிநடத்திய தேவன் இன்றும் மாறாதவராகவே இருக்கின்றார். நமது இன்றைய வாழ்க்கை பாழான நிலம் போலவும், ஊளையிடுதலுள்ள வெறுமையான அவாந்தர வெளிபோலவும் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால் கழுகு தன் கூட்டைக் கலைத்து, தன் குஞ்சுகளின்மேல் அசைவாடி, தன் செட்டைகளை விரித்து, அவைகளை எடுத்து, அவைகளைத் தன் செட்டைகளின்மேல் சுமந்துகொண்டு போகிறதுபோலக் கர்த்தர் நம்மிடம் செயல்புரிந்து நம்மைத் தாங்கி நடத்துவார். 

தாய்க் கழுகு கூட்டினைக் கலைக்கும்போது குஞ்சுகளுக்குக் கவலையாகத்தான் இருக்கும். அமைதியாக இருந்து  வேளாவேளைக்கான உணவினை உண்டுவந்த குஞ்சுகள் இந்தத் துன்பத்தைத் தாங்கியாகவேண்டும். அதுபோல, உயரத்திலிருந்து தாய்க் கழுகு குஞ்சுகளை கீழே தள்ளும்போது அவைகளுக்குத் தாய்க் கழுகு தங்களிடம் கொடுமையாக நடப்பதுபோலத் தெரியும்.  ஆம், நமது வாழ்விலும் தேவன் இதுபோலச் சில காரியங்களை செய்கின்றார். அது நமது நன்மைக்காகவே என்பதை நாம் உணர்ந்துகொள்வோமானால் கலக்கமடையாமல் இருப்போம். 

கூடு கலைக்கப்படுவதுபோலவும், உயரத்திலிருந்து தள்ளிவிடப்படுவதுபோலவும் நமது வாழ்வில் பலவேளைகளில் துன்பங்கள் ஏற்படலாம். ஆனால் நாம்  தேவனுக்கு ஏற்புடையவர்களாக வாழும்போது அப்படி நிகழுமானால் கர்த்தர் நம்மேல் கண்வைத்துள்ளார் என்று பொருள். விசுவாசக் கண்கொண்டு பார்ப்போமானால் தாய்க் கழுகு அருகினில் செட்டைகளை விரித்து அசைவாடுவதைக் காணும் குஞ்சுகளைப்போல நாமும் அவரது பிரசன்னத்தைக் கண்டுணர முடியும். கூடு கலைக்கப்பட்டு, கைவிடப்பட்டதுபோல இருப்பதால்தான் கழுகுக் குஞ்சுகள் அடுத்த வாழ்க்கை நிலைக்குத் தயாராகின்றன.

ஆம், இதுபோலவே கர்த்தர் நம்மிடம் செயல்புரிகின்றார் என்பதனை துன்பவேளைகளில் நாம் மறந்திடக்கூடாது. "நீதிமானுக்கு வரும் துன்பங்கள் அநேகமாயிருக்கும், கர்த்தர் அவைகளெல்லாவற்றிலும் நின்று அவனை விடுவிப்பார்." ( சங்கீதம் 34: 19)

"Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that hovers over its young, He spread His wings and caught them, He carried them on His pinions. The Lord alone guided him, and there was no foreign god with him." (Deuteronomy 32:11-12)

After reading today’s meditation verse, I felt it would be good to learn more about eagles. While searching online, I found a fact about eagles that perfectly aligns with this scripture.

When the time comes for eaglets to grow feathers and fly, they do not easily leave their nests. They simply wait for the food brought by the mother eagle. The mother eagle knows that it is not good for the chicks to remain this way forever. Therefore, to force them out, she uses her beak to peck at and stir up (disturb) the nest where the chicks reside. Now, the chicks find themselves without a stable place to stay.

At that moment, having no other choice, they look toward the mother eagle. The mother eagle lets the chicks sit on her back, flies high into the air, and upon reaching a certain height, she drops them. With no other option, the chicks struggle and flap their wings, attempting to fly. The mother eagle watches them intently and catches them upon her wings from time to time to support them.

Yes, dear ones, today’s meditation verse tells us that God sustained Jacob in this very same way. The scripture says, "The Lord alone guided him, and there was no foreign god with him." In the preceding verse, we read:

"He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the apple of His eye." (Deuteronomy 32:10)

The God who guided Jacob remains unchanging today. Our life today might feel like a desert land or a howling, empty wilderness. However, just as an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreads its wings to take them, and carries them on its pinions, the Lord will act in our lives to sustain and lead us.

When the mother eagle stirs up the nest, the chicks surely feel distressed. The chicks, who were living peacefully and eating their meals on time, must endure this hardship. Similarly, when the mother eagle pushes them down from a great height, it might seem to the chicks as though she is acting cruelly toward them. Yes, God performs similar actions in our lives as well. If we realize that this is for our own good, we will not be troubled.

Just like the stirring of a nest or being pushed from a height, many troubles may arise in our lives. But if such things happen while we are living in a way pleasing to God, it means the Lord has His eye upon us. If we look through the eyes of faith, we can sense His presence, just as the chicks see the mother eagle hovering nearby with spread wings. It is only because the nest is stirred and they feel "abandoned" that the eaglets become prepared for the next stage of their lives.

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." (Psalm 34:19)

"அப்பொழுது நீங்கள்: உம்முடைய சமுகத்தில் போஜனபானம்பண்ணினோமே, நீர் எங்கள் வீதிகளில் போதகம்பண்ணினீரே என்று சொல்லுவீர்கள். ஆனாலும் அவர்: நீங்கள் எவ்விடத்தாரோ, உங்களை அறியேன், அக்கிரமக்காரராகிய நீங்களெல்லாரும் என்னைவிட்டு அகன்றுபோங்கள் என்று சொல்வார் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்."( லுூக்கா 13: 26, 27)

வெளியரங்கமான பக்திச் செயல்பாடுகள் பல நம்மிடம் இருந்தாலும் மனம் திரும்பாத வாழ்க்கை வாழ்வோமானால் அவை அனைத்தும் தேவனுக்குமுன் அர்த்தமில்லாதவை என்பதனை இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து குறிப்பிடுகின்றார்.

இந்த வசனத்தின்மூலம் அவர் நமக்கு முக்கியமான ஒரு காரியத்தை உணர்த்துகின்றார். நாம் தினசரி ஆலய வழிபாடுகளில் கலந்துகொள்ளலாம், நமது ஊருக்கு அருகில் நடக்கும் நற்செய்திக் கூட்டங்களிலெல்லாம் பங்கெடுக்கலாம், அங்கு ஊழியர்கள் பேசும் பேச்சுக்களைக் குறிப்புகளாக நோட்டில் எழுதியெடுக்கலாம், மற்றவர்களையும் ஊக்கப்படுத்தி அத்தகையக் கூட்டங்களுக்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லலாம். ஆனால் இத்தகைய செயல்கள் மட்டும் நம்மைப் பரலோகத்துக்கு உரிமையாளர்களாக மாற்றாது என்று இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறுகின்றார்.

ஆராதனைகளில் கலந்துகொண்டாலும், நற்செய்திக் கூட்டங்களில் கலந்துகொண்டு, கர்த்தருக்கு ஊழியம் செய்கிறேன் எனக் கூறிக்கொண்டு நாம் இந்த உலகத்தில் பல்வேறு செயல்பாடுகளைச் செய்தாலும், நமது வாழ்க்கையில் தேவன் விரும்பும் கனிகள் இல்லையானால் இறுதி நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளின்போது நாம் அவர்முன் தைரியமாக நிற்கமுடியாது. இதனை, பரலோகத்தின் வாசல்கள் அடைக்கப்பட்டபின்னர் நடக்கும் சம்பவமாக இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உவமையாகக் கூறினார்.

இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தின் முந்தின வசனமுதல் தொடர்ந்து வாசிப்போமானால், "வீட்டெஜமான் எழுந்து, கதவைப் பூட்டினபின்பு, நீங்கள் வெளியே நின்று: ஆண்டவரே, ஆண்டவரே, எங்களுக்குத் திறக்கவேண்டுமென்று சொல்லிக் கதவைத் தட்டும்போது, அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நீங்கள் எவ்விடத்தாரோ, உங்களை அறியேன் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுவார். அப்பொழுது நீங்கள்: உம்முடைய சமுகத்தில் போஜனபானம்பண்ணினோமே, நீர் எங்கள் வீதிகளில் போதகம்பண்ணினீரே என்று சொல்லுவீர்கள். ஆனாலும் அவர்: நீங்கள் எவ்விடத்தாரோ, உங்களை அறியேன், அக்கிரமக்காரராகிய நீங்களெல்லாரும் என்னைவிட்டு அகன்றுபோங்கள் என்று சொல்வார் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்."( லுூக்கா 13: 25 - 27) என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளதை நாம் காணலாம்.

இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறும் இந்த உவமையில், "உம்முடைய சமுகத்தில் போஜனபானம்பண்ணினோமே", என்பது ஆராதனைகளில் கலந்துகொண்டு நற்கருணை உட்கொள்வதையும் "நீர் எங்கள் வீதிகளில் போதகம்பண்ணினீரே" என்பது ஆங்காங்கே நடைபெறும் பல்வேறு சுவிசேஷக் கூட்டங்களிலும் ஜெபக்கூட்டங்களில் பங்குபெறுவதையும் குறிக்கின்றது. சுருக்கமாக, இத்தகைய நமது செயல்பாடுகளை தேவனுக்கு எடுத்துச்சொல்லி நாம் இறுதிநாளில் தேவனது இரக்கத்தைப் பெறமுடியாது என்கின்றார் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து.

தேவன் நமது பக்திச் செயல்பாடுகளையல்ல, மாறாக நமது மாறுபட்ட வாழ்கையினைப் பார்க்கின்றார். நமது உடலும் மனமும் செய்வதை யல்ல, ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் நாம் எப்படி கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தோம் என்பதையே அவர் பார்க்கின்றார். எனவேதான் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், "ஆனபடியால், கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குட்பட்டவர்களாயிருந்து, மாம்சத்தின்படி நடவாமல் ஆவியின்படியே நடக்கிறவர்களுக்கு ஆக்கினைத்தீர்ப்பில்லை." ( ரோமர் 8: 1) என்று கூறுகின்றார்.

ஆம், மாம்சத்தின்படி நடவாமல் ஆவியின்படியே நடக்கிறவர்களுக்கு ஆக்கினைத்தீர்ப்பில்லை. நாம் 100 சதவிகிதம் மற்ற உலகமனிதர்களைப்போல வாழ்ந்துவிட்டு நம்மை அவருக்கு உகந்தவர்கள் என்று கூறிக்கொள்ள முடியாது. அப்படி இருப்போமானால் அவர் இறுதிநாளில் நம்மைப்பார்த்தும், "நீங்கள் எவ்விடத்தாரோ, உங்களை அறியேன்" என்பார். ஒன்றிரெண்டு ஆராதனை முறைகளைக் கைக்கொள்வதைவிட ஆவியின்படி வாழ முயற்சியெடுப்போம்.

📖 AATHAVAN Bible Meditation — No. 1871

"Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers.’" (Luke 13:26–27)

In today's meditation verse, Jesus Christ points out that even if we have many outward acts of piety, they are all meaningless before God if we live a life without repentance.

Through these words, He makes us realize a vital truth. We may attend daily church services, participate in every gospel meeting held near our towns, take diligent notes on what the ministers speak, and even encourage and lead others to such gatherings. However, Jesus warns that these actions alone do not make us inheritors of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Though we participate in worship, attend gospel meetings, and involve ourselves in various activities claiming to serve the Lord, we cannot stand boldly before Him on the final Day of Judgment if the fruits God desires are missing from our lives. Jesus spoke of this through a parable describing what happens after the gates of heaven are shut.

If we read the verses leading up to today's passage, we see the sequence of events:

"Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers.’" (Luke 13:25–27)

In this parable, the phrase "We ate and drank in Your presence" refers to participating in worship and partaking in the Holy Communion. The phrase "You taught in our streets" refers to our participation in various gospel and prayer meetings held in different places. In short, Jesus Christ explains that we cannot obtain God's mercy on the final day simply by presenting these outward activities to Him.

God does not look at our religious performances; rather, He looks for a transformed life. He does not merely observe what our body and mind do, but examines how we are spiritually connected with Christ. This is why the Apostle Paul says:

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1)

Indeed, there is no condemnation for those who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. We cannot live 100% like the people of this world and still claim to be acceptable to Him. If we remain in that state, He will look at us on the final day and say, "I do not know where you are from." Rather than merely observing a few rituals, let us strive to live according to the Spirit.

🦋 Meditation verse - 2 நாளாகமம் 19: 7 / 2 Chronicles 19:7

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳

📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1870

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 22, ஞாயிறு             

"ஆதலால் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுகிற பயம் உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கக்கடவது, எச்சரிக்கையாயிருந்து காரியத்தை நடத்துங்கள்; உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்திலே அநியாயமும் முகதாட்சிணியமும் இல்லை, பரிதானமும் அவரிடத்திலே செல்லாது என்றான்." (2 நாளாகமம் 19: 7)

கடவுளுக்குப் பயந்து உண்மையாக நீதிவழங்கும் நீதிபதிகள் வெகுவாகக் குறைந்துபோய்விட்டனர். பணத்துக்கும் அதிகாரத்துக்கும் பயந்து அல்லது  அடிமையாகி நீதியைப் புரட்டும் நீதிபதிகளை நாம் பரவலாகப் பார்க்கின்றோம். இது இன்று நேற்றல்ல, மூவாயிரம் நாலாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்குமுன்பே நடக்கும் செயல்தான். 

எனவேதான் யூதாவின் இராஜாவாகிய யோசாபாத் தான் நியமித்த நியாயாதிபதிகளுக்கு இந்த அறிவுரையைக் கூறுகின்றான். யோசபாத் யூதாவின் நகரங்களில் ஒவ்வொரு நகரத்திலும் நியாயாதிபதிகளை பதவியில் வைத்து அவர்களுக்கு இந்த அறிவுரையினைக் கூறுகின்றான்.  இதனை நாம்:- 

"அவன் யூதாவின் அரணான பட்டணங்களாகிய ஒவ்வொரு பட்டணத்திலும் நியாயாதிபதிகளை வைத்து, அந்த நியாயாதிபதிகளை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் செய்கிற காரியத்தைக் குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; நீங்கள் மனுஷனுடைய கட்டளையினால் அல்ல, கர்த்தருடைய கட்டளையினால் நியாயம் விசாரிக்கிறீர்கள்; நியாயம் விசாரிக்கிற விஷயத்திலே அவர் உங்களுடனே இருக்கிறார்." (2 நாளாகமம் 19: 5, 6)  என்றான் என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

தொடர்ந்து அவன் அவர்களைப்பார்த்து, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்திலே அநியாயமும் முகதாட்சிணியமும் இல்லை, பரிதானமும் அவரிடத்திலே செல்லாது என்றான். அதாவது நீங்கள் இன்று பரிதானம் வாங்கித்  தீர்ப்புச் சொல்வதுபோல இறுதி நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளில் தேவனிடம் பரிதானம் கொடுத்து உங்களுக்கேற்ற தீர்ப்பினைப் பெறமுடியாது எனவே எச்சரிக்கையாக இருங்கள் என்று கூறுகின்றான்.  

இதனை வாசிக்கும் அன்பானவர்களே, "நான்தான் நீதிபதி இல்லையே?" என்று நீங்கள் ஒருவேளை எண்ணலாம்.   ஆனால் நமது வாழ்க்கையில் நமது வீடுகளில் நாம் செய்யும் காரியங்களுக்கும் இந்த வசனம் பொருந்தும் என்பதனை மறந்துவிடக்கூடாது. அதிக வரதட்சணைக் கொண்டுவந்த மருமகளை ஒருவிதமாகவும் மற்ற மருமகளை அற்பமாகவும் நடத்துவோமென்றால் நாம்  முகதாட்சணியம் பார்க்கின்றோம் என்று பொருள். 

பெற்ற மகளுக்கு ஒரு நியாயம், மருமகளுக்கு ஒரு நியாயம் என்று குடும்பத்தில் செயல்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருப்போமானால் நமக்கும் இந்த எச்சரிப்பைத் தேவன் கொடுக்கின்றார். குடும்பத்தில் ஒரு மகனைவிட, மகளைவிட  மற்ற மகனை,  மகளை வித்தியாசமாக நடத்துவது,  சொத்துக்களைப் பகிர்ந்துகொடுப்பதில் தனக்குப் பிடித்த மகனுக்கும் மகளுக்கும்  பாரபட்சம் பார்ப்பது இவைகளைத் தேவன் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார். 

ஆவிக்குரிய சபைகளுக்குச் சென்று, பரிசுத்த ஆவியினால் நிறைந்துள்ளேன் எனத் துள்ளிக்குதித்து அந்நியபாஷை பேசும் ஒருவரது குடும்பத்தில்கூட இத்தகைய நிலை இருப்பதை அந்தக் குடும்பத்துச் சகோதரன் என்னிடம்கூறி வருத்தப்பட்டார். இத்தகைய மனிதர்களுக்குத் தேவன் எச்சரிக்கையாக இந்தச் செய்தியைக் கொடுக்கின்றார். 

கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுகிற பயம் உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கக்கடவது, எச்சரிக்கையாயிருந்து காரியத்தை நடத்துங்கள்; உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்திலே அநியாயமும் முகதாட்சிணியமும் இல்லை. "நீ எந்த அளவையால் அளப்பாயோ அதே அளவையால் உனக்கும் அளக்கப்படும்" (மத்தேயு 7:2) என்கிறார் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

📖 AATHAVAN Scripture Meditation – No. 1870    🔆 Sunday, March 22, 2026

"Now then let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be very careful what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in unrighteousness or partiality or the taking of a bribe." — 2 Chronicles 19:7

Judges who fear God and provide true justice have become significantly rare. We frequently see judges who, out of fear or enslavement to money and power, pervert justice. This is not a new phenomenon; it has been happening for three or four thousand years.

It was for this reason that Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, gave specific counsel to the judges he appointed. He stationed judges in every fortified city of Judah and instructed them as follows:

"He said to the judges, 'Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord who is with you when you render judgment.'" — 2 Chronicles 19:6 (NASB)

He continued by reminding them that there is no injustice, partiality, or bribery with the Lord our God. In other words, he warned them: "Just as you might take a bribe today to deliver a verdict, you will not be able to offer a bribe to God on the Final Judgment Day to secure a favourable verdict for yourself. Therefore, be careful."

Beloved readers, as you read this, you might think, "But I am not a judge." However, we must not forget that this verse applies equally to the things we do in our personal lives and within our homes.

If we treat a daughter-in-law who brought a large dowry one way, and treat another daughter-in-law with contempt, it means we are practicing partiality.

If we have one rule for our biological daughter and a different rule for our daughter-in-law, God is directing this warning toward us.

God is watching when we treat one son or daughter differently than the others, or when we show bias toward a "favourite" child while dividing inheritance or property.

I recently spoke with a brother who expressed deep sadness regarding his own family. Even in families where members attend spiritual churches, claim to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and speak in tongues, such unfairness exists. God gives this message as a stern warning to such individuals.

Let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Be careful in how you conduct your affairs, for there is no unrighteousness or partiality with the Lord your God. As the Lord says: "By your standard of measure, it will be measured to you" (Matthew 7:2).

📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1869

"நான் உன்னை மகா வறட்சியான தேசமாகிய வனாந்தரத்திலே அறிந்துகொண்டேன். தங்களுக்கு இருந்த மேய்ச்சலினால் திருப்தியானார்கள்; திருப்தியானபின்பு அவர்கள் இருதயம் மேட்டிமையாயிற்று; அதனால் என்னை மறந்தார்கள்." ( ஓசியா 13: 5, 6)

மனிதர்களது நன்றிமறந்த குணத்தைக்குறித்து தேவன் வேதனையுடன் கூறும் வார்த்தைகளே இன்றைய தியான வசனம். 

இன்றும் நாம் நமது வாழ்வில் இப்படி நன்றிமறந்த மக்களைச் சந்தித்திருப்போம். தங்களது இக்கட்டான வேளைகளில் நம்மிடம் உதவிவேண்டி வரும் சிலர் பிற்பாடு அவர்களது வாழ்க்கையில் மாறுதல் ஏற்பட்டுச் செழிப்பைக் காணும்போது நாம் உதவியதை மறந்துவிடுவார்கள். மட்டுமல்ல, சிலவேளைகளில் நமக்கு எதிராகவும் செயல்படுவார்கள். இப்படிச் செய்வது நமக்கு மனவேதனையைத் தருமல்லவா?

இதுபோலவே, எகிப்தியரின் அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து மீட்கப்பட்ட இஸ்ரவேலர் வானந்தரம் வழியாக கானானை நோக்கி மோசேயால் வழிநடத்தப்பட்டனர். அந்த வனாந்தரத்தில் தேவன் பல்வேறு அதிசயங்களைச்  செய்து அவர்களை வழிநடத்தி கானானுக்குள் கொண்டு சேர்த்தார். கானானின் செழிப்பை அவர்கள் அனுபவித்தனர். ஆனால், பிற்பாடு தங்களை இக்கட்டான நிலையிலிருந்து மீட்டு வழிநடத்திய மெய்யான தேவனைப் புறக்கணித்து பிற தெய்வங்களை வழிபடத்துவங்கினர். 

இதனையே தேவன் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில், தங்களுக்கு இருந்த மேய்ச்சலினால் திருப்தியானார்கள்; திருப்தியானபின்பு அவர்கள் இருதயம் மேட்டிமையாயிற்று; அதனால் என்னை மறந்தார்கள் என்கின்றார். குறிப்பாக யோசுவாவின் காலத்துக்குப்பின் இஸ்ரவேலர் இப்படி மாறிப்போனார்கள். 

"அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்து, பாகால்களைச் சேவித்து, தங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை விட்டு, தங்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற ஜனங்களுடைய தேவர்களாகிய அந்நிய தேவர்களைப் பின்பற்றிப்போய், அவர்களைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு, கர்த்தருக்குக் கோபமூட்டினார்கள்." ( நியாயாதிபதிகள் 2: 11, 12)

இன்றும் இதுபோலவே பல கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் இருக்கின்றனர். தங்களது வாழ்க்கையில் இக்கட்டுகளும், துன்பங்களும், நோய்களும் ஏற்படும்போது பல்வேறு பக்திக் செயல்பாடுகளிலும் ஜெபங்களிலும் ஈடுபடுகின்றனர். பல்வேறு ஊழியர்களைத்தேடி அவர்கள் நடத்தும் ஜெபக்கூட்டங்களில் கலந்துகொண்டு தேவனை ஆராதிக்கின்றனர். தேவனுக்கு ஏற்றதாக தங்களது பல செயல்பாடுகளை மாற்றிக்கொள்கின்றனர். ஆனால், தேவனிடம் தங்கள் மன்றாடியதைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டபின்னர் மாறிப்போகின்றனர்.  பலவேளைகளில் தங்களுக்கு தேவன் செய்த அதிசயத்தை மேடையிலேறி சாட்சியாக அறிவிப்பதோடு தங்களது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையை முடித்துக்கொள்கின்றனர். 

இத்தகைய குணத்தையே, "தங்களுக்கு இருந்த மேய்ச்சலினால் திருப்தியானார்கள்; திருப்தியானபின்பு அவர்கள் இருதயம் மேட்டிமையாயிற்று; அதனால் என்னை மறந்தார்கள்" என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. தேவனிடமிருந்து குறிப்பிட்ட உதவி கிடைக்கும்வரை அவருக்கேற்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழ்ந்துவிட்டு  பின்னர் பழைய வாழ்க்கைக்குத் திரும்புவதை தேவன் விரும்புவதில்லை. 

"எங்கள் வாழ்க்கையில் ஏற்பட்டத் துன்பங்களைத் தேவன் மாற்றியபின் நாங்கள் மாறிவிட்டோம், நாங்கள் இன்று ஆவிக்குரிய ஆராதனைகளில்தான் கலந்துகொள்கின்றோம்" எனப் பலர்  கூறுவதுண்டு. ஆனால் அன்பானவர்களே, தொடர்ந்து ஆவிக்குரிய ஆராதனைகளில் கலந்துகொள்வதல்ல; மாறாக, நாம் நமது வாழ்க்கையினை ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையாக மாற்றியிருக்கின்றோமா என்பதுதான் முக்கியம்.  மற்றவர்களிலிருந்து மாறுபட்ட வாழ்க்கையினையும் மாறுபட்டக் குணத்தையும்  தேவன் நம்மிடம் விரும்புகின்றாரேத்தவிர மாறுபட்ட ஆராதனை முறையையல்ல.  

இப்படி நாம் நம்மை மாற்றாமல்; நமது குணங்களை ஆவிக்குரியதாக மாற்றாமல்,  வெறும் ஆராதனைக் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக இருப்போமானால் தேவன் நம்மைப்பார்த்தும் இப்படித்தான் வேதனையுடன்  "அவர்கள் மேய்ச்சலினால் திருப்தியானார்கள்; திருப்தியானபின்பு அவர்கள் இருதயம் மேட்டிமையாயிற்று; அதனால் என்னை மறந்தார்கள்" என்று கூறுவார்.  நமது வறட்சியான வாழ்க்கைச் சூழலில் நமக்கு உதவிய தேவனைக் காலமெல்லாம் மறக்காமல் மெய்யான ஆராதனைக் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக அல்ல; மாறாக ஆவிக்குரிய கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக வாழ்வோம்.

"It was I who knew you in the wilderness, In the land of highest drought. As they had their pasture, they became satisfied, And being satisfied, their heart became proud; Therefore, they forgot Me." — Hosea 13:5-6

Today’s meditation verse contains words spoken by God with great sorrow regarding the ungrateful nature of human beings.

In our own lives, we often encounter such ungrateful people. There are those who approach us seeking help during their most difficult times, but once their circumstances change and they find prosperity, they forget the help we rendered. Not only that, but they sometimes even turn against us. Does this not cause deep mental anguish?

In the same way, the Israelites, who were redeemed from Egyptian bondage, were led by Moses through the wilderness toward Canaan. In that wilderness, God performed various miracles, guided them, and brought them into the land of Canaan. They enjoyed the prosperity of Canaan; however, they later rejected the true God who had delivered and led them through their crisis, and they began to worship other gods.

This is exactly what God expresses in today’s verse: "As they had their pasture, they became satisfied, and being satisfied, their heart became proud; therefore, they forgot Me." This shift became particularly evident among the Israelites after the era of Joshua.

"Then the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals, and they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt, and they followed other gods from the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed down to them; so they provoked the Lord to anger." — Judges 2:11-12

Even today, there are many Christians like this. When distress, suffering, or illness enter their lives, they immerse themselves in various acts of devotion and prayer. They seek out various ministers, attend prayer meetings, and worship God fervently. They even align many of their actions to be pleasing to Him.

However, once they receive what they petitioned for, they change. Often, they conclude their "spiritual life" simply by standing on a stage and sharing a testimony about the miracle God performed, and then they drift away.

This is the character described by the verse: becoming satisfied with the "pasture" and allowing the heart to become proud, leading to forgetting God. God does not desire for us to live for Him only until a specific need is met, only to return to our old way of life afterward.

Many say, "Since God changed the troubles in our lives, we have changed; today, we participate in spiritual worship services." But dear ones, it is not about continuously attending spiritual services; rather, it is about whether we have transformed our lives into spiritual lives. God desires from us a life and character that is distinct and set apart, not merely a different style of worship service.

If we do not transform ourselves—if we do not change our character to be spiritual—and remain merely "Worship Christians" (ritualistic), God will look at us with the same sorrow and say: "They became satisfied... and they forgot Me." Let us not forget the God who helped us in our "land of highest drought." Let us live not merely as "Worship Christians" in name, but as truly spiritual Christians throughout our lives.

🦋 Mediation verse - சங்கீதம் 139: 16 / Psalm 139:16

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳

📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1868

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 20, வெள்ளி           

"என் கருவை உம்முடைய கண்கள் கண்டன; என் அவயவங்களில் ஒன்றாகிலும் இல்லாதபோதே அவைகள் அனைத்தும், அவைகள் உருவேற்படும் நாட்களும், உமது புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருந்தன."( சங்கீதம் 139: 16)

நாம் உலகினில் இல்லாமல் இருக்கும்போதே நம்மை அறிந்தவர் தேவன். அவரது திட்டபடியே நாம் தாயிடம் உருவானோம். இன்று தாயின் வயிற்றில் குழந்தை உருவாகியவுடனேயே மருத்துவர்கள் பல்வேறு முறை ஸ்கேன் (Scan) செய்து  குழந்தையின் வளர்ச்சியைக் கண்காணிக்கின்றனர். குழந்தைகளின் உடல் உறுப்புக்கள் சரியாக வளர்ச்சியடைந்துள்ளனவா என்று பார்க்கின்றனர். சிலவேளைகளில் அப்படி சோதனை செய்து பார்த்துவிட்டு உடல் உறுப்புகள் குறைபாடுள்ளதாக இருந்தால் கருவைக் கலைத்துவிட சிபாரிசு செய்கின்றனர். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் இந்த உலகினில் தற்செயலாக உண்டாகிவிடவில்லை. நம் ஒவ்வொருவரும் எங்கு பிறக்கவேண்டும், யாருக்குப் பிள்ளைகளாகப்  பிறக்கவேண்டும், எப்படிப்பட்ட உருவம், நிறம்  உள்ளவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்பன தேவனால் ஏற்கெனவே திட்டமிடப்பட்ட ஒன்றாகும். 

இந்தஉலகினில் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் மனதினில் தங்கள் உருவத்தைக்குறித்த ஏதாவது ஒரு குறை இருக்கும். "நான் இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் வெண்மையாகப் பிறந்திருக்கலாம்", "இன்னும் நான் சற்று உயரமாக இருந்திருந்தால் நல்லதாக இருக்கும்", "எனது தலைமுடி பட்டுப்போல நீளமாக  இருந்திருந்தால் நல்லதாக இருக்கும்" அல்லது, "எனது தலைமுடி சுருளாக இருந்தால் அழகாக இருந்திருக்கும்" இப்படிப் பல எண்ணங்கள் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால் இன்றைய வசனம் கூறுகின்றது, "என் அவயவங்களில் ஒன்றாகிலும் இல்லாதபோதே அவைகள் அனைத்தும், அவைகள் உருவேற்படும் நாட்களும், உமது புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருந்தன" என்று. ஆம் அவை ஏற்கெனவே தேவனால் திட்டமிடப்பட்டவை. 

இதுபோலச்  சிலர் பிறவியிலேயே சில குறைபாடுகளோடு பிறக்கின்றனர். ஆம், ஏதோ நோக்கத்துக்காக தேவன் அவர்களை அப்படிப் பிறக்கச் செய்திருக்கலாம்; அது நமக்குத் தெரியாது. எனவேதான், "மண்ணோடுகளுக்கொத்த ஓடாயிருந்தும், தன்னை உருவாக்கினவரோடே வழக்காடுகிறவனுக்கு ஐயோ! களிமண் தன்னை உருவாக்கினவனை நோக்கி: என்ன செய்கிறாயென்று சொல்லத்தகுமோ? உன் கிரியையானது: அவருக்குக் கைகள் இல்லையென்று சொல்லலாமோ?" ( ஏசாயா 45: 9) என்று வசனம் கூறுகின்றது.

ஆனால், தேவன் நம்மை எப்படிப் படைத்திருந்தாலும் நாம் அவருக்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தமாய் நமது உடலைப் பேணவேண்டியது அவசியமாய் இருக்கின்றது. காரணம், தேவன் தனது சாயலாக மனிதர்களை உருவாக்கியுள்ளார். "உங்கள் சரீரமானது நீங்கள் தேவனாலே பெற்றும் உங்களில் தங்கியும் இருக்கிற பரிசுத்த ஆவியினுடைய ஆலயமாயிருக்கிறதென்றும், நீங்கள் உங்களுடையவர்களல்லவென்றும் அறியீர்களா?" (1 கொரிந்தியர் 6: 19) ஆம், நமது உடலை நாம் தேவனிடமிருந்து பெற்றுள்ளோம். எனவே அதனை அவரது ஆலயமாகப் பாதுகாக்கவேண்டியது நமது கடமை. 

நாம் எந்த உருவத்தில் இருந்தாலும் நாம் அவருக்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தர்களாக வாழ்கின்றோமா என்பதுதான் முக்கியம். உடல் அழகோ, நமது உலகச் செழிப்போ தேவனுக்கு முக்கியமல்ல. நாம் கருவாக இருக்கும்போதே நம்மை அறிந்து நம்மை உருவாக்கியவர் அவர். அவர் தான் உருவாக்கிய உடலை மனிதன் எப்படி இறுதிவரைப் பாதுகாத்தான் என்றுதான் பார்க்கின்றார். 

சிலர் மற்றவர்களோடு தங்களைப் பலவிதங்களில் ஒப்பிட்டுப் பார்த்து அவர்களைப்போல பொருளாதாரத்திலும் அந்தஸ்திலும் நாம் இல்லையே என்று ஏங்குவதுண்டு. சிலர் வெளிப்படையாகவே தங்களது பெற்றோரிடம், "என்னை நல்ல நிலையில் வைக்கமுடியவில்லையென்றால் ஏன் என்னைப் பெற்றீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்பதும் உண்டு.  இப்படிக் கேட்பது சாபத்துக்கு நம்மை இட்டுச்செல்லும். காரணம், இப்படிப் பேசும்போது  நாம் தேவனது திட்டத்துக்கு எதிராகச் செயல்படுகின்றோம் என்று பொருள். 

எனவேதான் ஏசாயா மூலம் தேவன் கூறுகின்றார், "தகப்பனை நோக்கி: ஏன் ஜநிப்பித்தாய் என்றும், தாயை நோக்கி: ஏன் பெற்றாய் என்றும் சொல்லுகிறவனுக்கு ஐயோ!" ( ஏசாயா 45: 10) நாம் கருவாக இருக்கும்போதே நம்மைக் கண்ட தேவன் நம்மைக் கைவிடமாட்டார். அந்த விசுவாசத்தோடு வாழ்வைத் தொடருவோம்; அவர் நமக்குத் தந்த உடலை அவருக்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தமாகப் பாதுகாத்திடுவோம்.

📖AATHAVAN Bible Meditation – No. 1868            🔆 Friday, March 20, 2026

"Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them." (Psalm 139:16)

God knew us even before we existed in this world. It was according to His divine plan that we were formed in our mother's womb. Today, as soon as a child is conceived, doctors perform various scans to monitor the baby's growth and check if the limbs and organs are developing correctly. Sometimes, if they detect any defects or abnormalities, they recommend terminating the pregnancy.

Dearly beloved, we did not come into this world by chance. Where we should be born, to whom we should be born, and what our appearance and complexion should be—all of these were pre-planned by God.

In this world, almost everyone has some insecurity or dissatisfaction regarding their physical appearance. We might think, "I wish I were a bit fairer," "It would be better if I were taller," "I wish my hair were long and silky," or "It would be beautiful if my hair were curly." But today’s scripture reminds us: “And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.” Yes, every detail was already planned by God.

Similarly, some are born with certain disabilities or infirmities from birth. God may have allowed them to be born that way for a specific purpose known only to Him. That is why the Scripture says: "Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker—An earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth! Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’ Or the thing you are making say, ‘He has no hands’?" (Isaiah 45:9)

Regardless of how God has created us, it is essential that we maintain our bodies in holiness, acceptable to Him. This is because God created man in His own image. "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?" (1 Corinthians 6:19) We have received our bodies from God; therefore, it is our duty to protect them as His temple.

Our physical appearance or worldly prosperity is not what matters most to God; what matters is whether we are living as holy people pleasing to Him. He is the one who knew us and formed us while we were yet a substance in the womb. He watches how a human being preserves the body He created until the very end.

Some people constantly compare themselves with others and long for the financial status or social standing that others possess. Some even confront their parents, asking, "If you couldn't provide me with a good life, why did you give birth to me?" Such questioning leads us toward a curse because, in doing so, we are acting against God’s divine plan.

This is why God says through Isaiah: "Woe to him who says to a father, 'What are you begetting?' Or to a woman, 'To what are you giving birth?'" (Isaiah 45:10)

The God who saw us while we were still in the womb will never forsake us. Let us continue our lives with that faith, and let us preserve the body He has given us in holiness, acceptable to Him.

🦋 Meditation verse - நெகேமியா 8: 11,12 / Nehemiah 8:11-12

📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1867

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 19, வியாழன்          

"லேவியரும் ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் அமர்த்தி: அழாதிருங்கள், இந்த நாள் பரிசுத்தமான நாள், விசாரப்படவேண்டாம் என்றார்கள். அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் தங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளை உணர்ந்துகொண்டபடியால், புசித்துக் குடிக்கவும், பங்குகளை அனுப்பவும், மிகுந்த சந்தோஷம் கொண்டாடவும் போனார்கள்." (நெகேமியா 8: 11,12)

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் பாவ மன்னிப்பை பெற்றுக்கொண்ட இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களைப்பற்றி கூறுகின்றது.  பாபிலோனின் அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையான இஸ்ரவேலர் எருசலேம் நகரின் மதில் சுவரைப் பல்வேறு தடைகளுக்குப்பின் கட்டிமுடிந்தனர். அனைத்து வேலைகளும் முடிவடைந்த நிலையில் தேவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தும்படி அனைவரும் ஒன்றுகூடினர். நெகேமியாவும், வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியனும், லேவியர்களும் "தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணப் புஸ்தகத்தை தீர்க்கமாக வாசித்து, அர்த்தஞ்சொல்லி, வாசித்ததை அவர்களுக்கு விளங்கப்பண்ணினார்கள்." (நெகேமியா 8: 8)

அடிமைத்தனத்தின் துன்பங்களை அனுபவித்திருந்த அந்த மக்களுக்குத் தங்களுக்கு விடுதலையளித்த தேவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவது முக்கியமான காரியமாக இருந்தது. தங்களது பாவங்களே தங்களது அடிமைத்தனத்துக்கு மூல காரணம் என்பதனை அவர்கள் உணர்த்துகொண்டனர். எனவே அவர்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணம் வாசிக்கப்பட்டபோது தங்களது மனம் வருத்தப்பட்டு அழுதனர். 

"ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது, அழுதபடியால், திர்ஷாதா என்னப்பட்ட நெகேமியாவும், வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியனும், ஜனங்களுக்கு விளக்கிக்காட்டின லேவியரும் சகல ஜனங்களையும் நோக்கி: இந்த நாள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமான நாள்; நீங்கள் துக்கப்படவும் அழவும் வேண்டாம் என்றார்கள்". (நெகேமியா 8: 9)

"லேவியரும் ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் அமர்த்தி: அழாதிருங்கள், இந்த நாள் பரிசுத்தமான நாள், விசாரப்படவேண்டாம் என்றார்கள்". (நெகேமியா 8: 11)

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இது என்றோ நடந்த சம்பவம் மட்டுமல்ல, இன்றும் பாவ உணர்வடையும் ஒவ்வொரு கிறிஸ்தவரும் அனுபவிக்கும் மீட்பு அனுபவமாகும்.  நமது பாவங்களை நாம் உணர்த்து அறிக்கையிட்டு நமக்குள் மாற்றம் ஏற்படுத்துவதை நாம் உணர்ந்துகொள்ளும்போது நமக்குள் அழுகை ஏற்படுகின்றது. மனமகிழ்சி உண்டாகின்றது. அன்று இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் பாவ உணர்வடைந்து அழுதபோது, அழாதிருங்கள் இந்த நாள் பரிசுத்தமான நாள், விசாரப்படவேண்டாம் என்று லேவியர்கள்  மக்களை உற்சாகமூட்டினார்கள். 

இதுபோலவே பவுலும் சீலாவும் சிறைச்சாலையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டு அதிசயமாக தேவனால் விடுவிக்கப்பட்டபோது சிறைச்சாலை அதிகாரி அவர்களைத் தனது வீட்டிற்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போனான். பவுலும் சீலாவும், "அவனுக்கும் அவன் வீட்டிலிருந்த யாவருக்கும் கர்த்தருடைய வசனத்தைப் போதித்தார்கள். மேலும் இராத்திரியில் அந்நேரத்திலேதானே அவன் அவர்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களுடைய காயங்களைக் கழுவினான். அவனும் அவனுடையவர்கள் அனைவரும் உடனே ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்றார்கள்.   (அப்போஸ்தலர் நடப்படிகள்  16: 32, 33)

"பின்பு அவன் அவர்களைத் தன் வீட்டிற்குக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களுக்கு போஜனங்கொடுத்து, தன் வீட்டார் அனைவரோடுங்கூட தேவனிடத்தில் விசுவாசமுள்ளவனாகி மனமகிழ்ச்சியாய் இருந்தான்"  (அப்போஸ்தலர் நடப்படிகள்  16: 34) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

வேதவசனங்களை நாம் கேட்கும்போது தேவனுக்கேற்ற துக்கம் உண்டாகுமானால் நாம் இரட்சிப்பு அடைவது உறுதி. அந்தத் துக்கம் நமக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியையே உண்டாக்கும்.  "தேவனுக்கேற்ற துக்கம் பின்பு மனஸ்தாபப்படுகிறதற்கு இடமில்லாமல் இரட்சிப்புக்கேதுவான மனந்திரும்புதலை உண்டாக்குகிறது; லெளகிக துக்கமோ மரணத்தை உண்டாக்குகிறது." (2 கொரிந்தியர் 7: 10) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

வேத வார்த்தைகள் என்றைக்காவது உங்கள் உள்ளத்தில் பாவ உணர்வைத் தூண்டியுள்ளனவா? நான் இப்படிப்பட்டவனாக இருந்திருக்கிறேனே என என்றாவது நீங்கள் எண்ணிப்பார்த்ததுண்டா? அன்று இப்படி எண்ணியதால்தான் இஸ்ரவேலர் வேத வசனங்களைக் கேட்டு அழுதார்கள்; பவுல் கூறிய வேத வசனங்களைக்கேட்டு சிறைச்சாலை அதிகாரி மனம்திரும்பினான். ஆம், வேத வசனங்களை உலக ஆசீர்வாதம் பெறுவதற்காக வாசிக்காமல், நமது ஆத்தும அழுக்கை நீக்கும் வார்த்தைகளாக விசுவாசித்து வாசித்து ஏற்றுக்கொள்வோமானால் பாவ உணர்வடைவோம்; அப்போது மீட்படைவோம்.

"So the Levites calmed all the people, saying, 'Be still, for the day is holy; do not be grieved.' Then all the people went away to eat, to drink, to send portions and to celebrate a great festival, because they understood the words which had been made known to them." (Nehemiah 8:11-12)

Today’s meditation verse speaks about the people of Israel receiving forgiveness for their sins. After returning from Babylonian captivity, the Israelites completed the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem despite many obstacles. Once the work was finished, they gathered together to give thanks to God. Nehemiah, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites "read from the book, from the law of God, interpreting they gave the sense so that they understood the reading." (Nehemiah 8:8)

For those who had endured the miseries of slavery, offering thanks to the God who delivered them was of utmost importance. They realized that their own sins were the root cause of their captivity. Therefore, as the Law was read, their hearts were moved to sorrow and they wept.

"Then Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, 'This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.' For all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the law." (Nehemiah 8:9)

"So, the Levites calmed all the people, saying, 'Be still, for the day is holy; do not be grieved.'" (Nehemiah 8:11)

Yes, dearly beloved, this is not just an event that happened long ago; it is the experience of redemption that every Christian undergoes today when they come to a conviction of sin. When we recognize and confess our sins, and realize the transformation happening within us, it often brings us to tears. Yet, it also brings deep joy. Just as the Levites encouraged the weeping Israelites by saying, "Do not weep, for this day is holy; do not be grieved," God comforts us.

Similarly, when Paul and Silas were imprisoned and miraculously released by God, the jailer took them to his home. Paul and Silas "spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house. And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household." (Acts 16:32-33)

We further read: "And he brought them into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, having believed in God with his whole household." (Acts 16:34)

If "godly sorrow" arises within us when we hear the Word of God, our salvation is certain. That sorrow ultimately produces joy. As it is written: "For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death." (2 Corinthians 7:10)

Have the words of Scripture ever stirred a sense of sin within your heart? Have you ever reflected and thought, “Was I really such a person?” It was because they felt this way that the Israelites wept when they heard the words of Scripture; and the jailer repented when he heard the words spoken by Paul. Yes, if we read the Scriptures not merely to receive worldly blessings but believe and accept them as words that cleanse the impurity of our soul, we will become conscious of our sin; and then we will receive salvation.
