பாவம் வாசல்படியில் / SIN AT DOORSTEP

"நீ நன்மைசெய்தால் மேன்மை இல்லையோ? நீ நன்மைசெய்யாதிருந்தால் பாவம் வாசற்படியில் படுத்திருக்கும்" 

( ஆதியாகமம் 4 : 7 )

இன்றைய வசனம் காயினைப்பார்த்து தேவன் கூறியது. ஆதியாகமத்தில் நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம், "காயீனையும் அவன் காணிக்கையையும் அவர் அங்கிகரிக்கவில்லை". ( ஆதியாகமம் 4 : 5 ) என்று. நம்மில் பலருக்கும் தேவன் ஏன் காயினது காணிக்கையினை அங்கீகரிக்கவில்லை எனும் சந்தேகம் எழலாம். இந்த வசனங்களைக் கவனமாக வாசித்தால் அது புரியும். 

காயினையும் அவன் காணிக்கையையும் என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதாவது தேவன் முதலில் காயினை அங்கீகரிக்கவில்லை, அப்படி அவனை அங்கீகரிக்காததால் அவனது காணிக்கையையும் அங்கீகரிக்கவில்லை.  இன்றைய வசனத்தில் தேவன் காயினிடம்  "நீ நன்மைசெய்தால் மேன்மை இல்லையோ?" என்கின்றார். அதாவது, அவன் வாழ்வில் நல்லது செய்யவில்லை. எனவேதான் இப்படிக் கூறுகின்றார். மேலும் தேவன் கூறுகின்றார், "நீ நன்மைசெய்யாதிருந்தால் பாவம் வாசற்படியில் படுத்திருக்கும்." அதாவது நீ நன்மை செய்யாததால் உன் பாவம் உன் வாசல்படியில் படுத்திருக்கின்றது. 

அன்பானவர்களே, இன்றைய வசனம் நமக்கும்  ஒரு எச்சரிப்பாகும். நாம் இன்று ஆலயங்களுக்குச் செல்லலாம், நற்செய்தி கூட்டங்களில் கலந்துகொள்ளலாம், மணிக்கணக்காக ஜெபிக்கலாம், தசமபாக காணிக்கைகள் செலுத்தலாம்  ஆனால் வாழ்க்கையில் நம்மிடம் நல்லது இல்லையானால், நல்ல வாழ்க்கை வாழவில்லையானால் நமது பாவம் நமது வாசல்படியில் படுத்திருக்கும்.  நம்மால் பாவத்தை மேற்கொண்டு வெற்றியுள்ள ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை வாழ முடியாது. 

காரணம், மேற்படி பக்தி காரியங்கள் பாவத்தை நம்மைவிட்டு அகற்றிடாது. நாம் ஆலயங்களுக்கோ இதர வீடுகளுக்கோ செல்லும்போது நமது காலணிகளை வாசல்படியருகே விட்டுச்செல்கின்றோம். திரும்பும்போது மீண்டும் அணிந்துகொள்கின்றோம். ஆம், அதுபோலவே வாசல்படியில் நாய்போல படுத்திருக்கும் பாவம் நாய் நம்மைத் தொடருவதுபோலவே பின்தொடரும்.  நன்மை செய்யாத குணம்; கபடம், பொறாமை, வஞ்சகம் இவை காயினது உள்ளத்தில் இருந்ததால் அவனால் ஆபேலின் காணிக்கையினை கர்த்தர் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டதை சகிக்கமுடியவில்லை. 

இத்தகைய குணங்கள் நம்முள் இருப்பதை நாம் மறைத்தாலும் தேவன் அதை அறிவார். எனவே நாம் நன்மைசெய்ய மனமில்லாதவர்களாக, உள்ளான மனத்தில் மாற்றமில்லாமல் வாழ்வோமானால் நமது ஆராதனைகளும் வழிபாடுகளும் வீணானவையே. தேவன் நம்மைப்பார்த்தும் இப்படிக் கேட்பார், "நீ நன்மைசெய்தால் மேன்மை இல்லையோ? நீ நன்மைசெய்யாதிருந்தால் பாவம் வாசற்படியில் படுத்திருக்கும்"

அன்பானவர்களே, பாவம் நமது வாசல்படியில் படுத்திருக்க நாம் அனுமதிக்கக்கூடாது. கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின் ஆவியின் பிரமாணத்துக்குள் நாம் உண்மையாக வரும்போதே பாவத்திலிருந்தும் அதனால் வரும் ஆத்தும மரணத்திலிருந்தும் நாம் விடுதலை அடைய முடியும். இதனையே, "கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினாலே ஜீவனுடைய ஆவியின் பிரமாணம் என்னைப் பாவம் மரணம் என்பவைகளின் பிரமாணத்தினின்று விடுதலையாக்கிற்றே." ( ரோமர் 8 : 2 ) என்கின்றார் அப்போஸ்தலராகிய பவுல் அடிகள். 

நியாயப்பிரமாணக்  கட்டளைகளுக்கல்ல, கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவைப் பற்றும் ஆவிக்குரிய பிரமாணத்துக்குள் நாம் வரும்போதே மெய்விடுதல் நமக்குக் கிடைக்கும்.

" If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door." ( Genesis 4 : 7 )

Today's verse is the verse, God spoke to Cain. In Genesis we read, "But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect." (Genesis 4 : 5 )  Many of us may wonder why God did not approve of Cain's offering. A careful reading of these verses will make it clear.

It says, “Cain and to his offering”. That is, God did not approve of Cain first; and because He did not approve him, He did not approve of his offering. In today's verse, God said to Cain, " If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?  That means, he did no good in his life. That is why he says this. And God says, " if thou does not well, sin lieth at the door." That is, because you have not done good, your sin lies at your doorstep.

Beloved, today's verse is a warning to us too. Today, we can go to church, attend gospel meetings, pray for hours, pay tithes but if we have no good in life, if we do not live a good life, our sin lies at our doorstep. We cannot continue sinning and live a successful spiritual life.

The reason is that these devotional activities do not remove sin from us. When we go to temples or other houses, we leave our shoes at the doorstep. We wear it again when we return. Yea, so shall the sin that lieth like a dog at the doorstep follow us. unbeneficial character; Hypocrisy, jealousy, and deceit were in Cain's heart, so he could not bear the Lord's acceptance of Abel's offering.

Even if we hide the presence of such qualities in us, God knows it. Therefore, if we live without a mind to do good, without change our inner mind, our prayers and worships will be in vain. God looks at us and tell, " If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door."

Beloved, we must not allow sin to lie at our doorstep. Only when we truly come into the covenant of the Spirit of Christ Jesus can we be freed from sin and the death of the soul. This is what the apostle Paul says, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

True liberation from sins and deliverance from spiritual death comes to us only when we come into the spiritual covenant with Christ Jesus, not following the commandments of the law.
