சீயோன் ஜனங்கள் / PEOPLE OF ZION

ஆதவன் 🔥 937🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 22, 2023 செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை

"சீயோனைச் சேர்ந்த ஜனங்கள் எருசலேமில் வாசமாயிருப்பார்கள்; இனி நீ அழுதுகொண்டிராய்; உன் கூப்பிடுதலின் சத்தத்துக்கு அவர் உருக்கமாய் இரங்கி, அதைக் கேட்டவுடனே உனக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு அருளுவார்." ( ஏசாயா 30 : 19 )

இன்றைய தியானத்துக்குரிய வசனத்தில் சீயோன், எருசலேம் என்பவை உருவகமாகக் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளன. சீயோன் என்பது பரலோக ராஜ்யத்தையும் (தேவனுடைய நகரத்தையும்)  எருசலேம் என்பது பரிசுத்த வாழ்க்கையையும் குறிக்கின்றது. அதாவது பரலோக ராஜ்யத்துக்கு உரிமையான மக்கள் பரிசுத்தமாக வாழ்வார்கள் என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

அடுத்து வரும் வார்த்தைகள், அப்படி தேவனுக்கு ஏற்புடைய பரிசுத்த வாழ்க்கை வாழ்வதால் வரும் ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் விளக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. அதாவது அப்படி பரலோக ராஜ்யத்துக்குத் தகுதியான ஒரு பரிசுத்த வாழ்க்கை வாழும்போது, "நீ அழுதுகொண்டிராய்; உன் கூப்பிடுதலின் சத்தத்துக்கு அவர் உருக்கமாய் இரங்கி, அதைக் கேட்டவுடனே உனக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு அருளுவார்." என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

தொடர்ந்து அடுத்த வசனங்களிலும் ஏசாயா இதன் ஆசீர்வாதங்களை விளக்குகின்றார். "ஆண்டவர் உங்களுக்குத் துன்பத்தின் அப்பத்தையும், உபத்திரவத்தின் தண்ணீரையும் கொடுத்தாலும், உன் போதகர்கள் இனி ஒருபோதும் மறைந்திருக்கமாட்டார்கள்; உன் கண்கள் உன் போதகர்களைக் காணும். நீங்கள் வலதுபுறமாய்ச் சாயும்போதும், இடதுபுறமாய்ச் சாயும்போதும்: வழி இதுவே, இதிலே நடவுங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குப் பின்னாலே சொல்லும் வார்த்தையை உங்கள் காதுகள் கேட்கும்." ( ஏசாயா 30 : 20, 21 )    

அதாவது இப்படி சீயோனுக்குத் தகுதியுள்ளவர்களாக ஒரு பரிசுத்த வாழ்க்கை வாழும்போது நாம் உபத்திரவம், குறைச்சல் போன்று நெருக்கத்தின் மத்தியில் இருந்தாலும் நமது போதகர் , அதாவது தேவன் நமக்கு மறைந்திருக்கமாட்டார். அவர் நம்மோடு இருந்து நம்மை வழிநடத்துவார். நெருக்கத்தின் மத்தியிலும் நாம் அவரது தேவ பிரசன்னத்தைக் கண்டுணரமுடியும். 

மேலும் நாம் செல்லவேண்டிய சரியான பாதையினை அவர் நமக்குக் காட்டி வழிநடத்துவார். நாம் செல்லவேண்டிய பாதையைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்க முடியாமல் வலதுபுறமாய்ச் சாயும்போதும், இடதுபுறமாய்ச் சாயும்போதும்: வழி இதுவே, இதிலே நடவுங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குப் பின்னாலே சொல்லும் வார்த்தையை உங்கள் காதுகள் கேட்கும்.

மற்ற மக்களுக்கும் சீயோனைச் சார்ந்த மக்களுக்குமுள்ள ஆசீர்வாதத்தின் வித்தியாசம் இதுதான். மற்ற மக்கள் துன்பப்படும்போது வழிதெரியாமலும் உதவுவாரில்லாமலும் தவிப்பார்கள். ஆனால் நாம்  சீயோன் எனும் பரலோகத்துக்குரியவர்களாக பரிசத்தமாக வாழும்போது தேவன் நமக்கு மறைந்திருக்கமாட்டார். நெருக்கத்தின் மத்தியிலும் அவரது முகத்தரிசனத்தை நாம் காண முடியும். அவரது வழிநடத்துதலை அனுபவிக்கமுடியும்.  

மேலும்,  அப்படி வாழும்போது  அவரை நோக்கி நாம் ஜெபிக்கும்போது நமது ஜெபத்துக்கு உடனேயே இரங்கி பதில் தருவார். இதனையே, "உன் கூப்பிடுதலின் சத்தத்துக்கு அவர் உருக்கமாய் இரங்கி, அதைக் கேட்டவுடனே உனக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு அருளுவார்." என்று இந்த வசனம் கூறுகின்றது.

அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் இந்த உலகத்தில் கொஞ்சகாலம் வாழ்ந்தாலும் நாம் நிரந்தர நகரான பரலோக சீயோனுக்கு உரியவர்கள். கர்த்தரோடு வாழப்போகிறவர்கள். எனவே தாறுமாறாக அலைந்திடாமல் பரிசுத்தநகரமாகிய எருசலேமில் தங்கி பரிசுத்த வாழ்கையினைத் தொடர்ந்திடுவோம்.

                 PEOPLE OF ZION

"For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee." ( Isaiah 30 : 19 )

In today's meditation verse, Zion and Jerusalem are used as metaphors. Zion means the kingdom of heaven (the city of God) and Jerusalem means a holy life. That is, it is said that the people who are entitled to the kingdom of heaven will live a holy life.

The following words explain the blessings that come from living such a holy life that is acceptable to God. That is, when a holy life worthy of the kingdom of heaven is lived, “thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee."

Isaiah continues to explain its blessings in the following verses. "And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers.  And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." (Isaiah 30: 20, 21)

That is, when we live a holy life as worthy of Zion, our teacher, that is, God, will not be hidden from us even if we are in the midst of suffering and weakness. He will be with us and guide us. Even in the midst of troubles we can find His divine presence.

And He will show us the right path to follow. When we turn to the right and turn to the left, unable to choose which way to go, your ears will hear the word behind you saying: “This is the way”.

This is the difference between the blessing of the rest of the people and the people of Zion. When other people suffer, they feel helplessness. But God will not be hidden from us when we live in purity as Zion's heavenly people. We can see His face in the midst of troubles and enjoy his guidance.

Also, when we pray to Him while living like that, He will respond to our prayers immediately. This is said in today’s verse, “He will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee."

Beloved, though we live in this world for a short time, we belong to the eternal city, the heavenly Zion. Those who are going to live with God. So, let us stay in Jerusalem, the holy city and continue the holy life.

உலகக் காரியங்களில் உண்மை / TRUTHFULNESS IN WORLDLY AFFAIRS

ஆதவன் 🔥 936🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 21, 2023 திங்கள்கிழமை

"அநீதியான உலகப்பொருளைப்பற்றி நீங்கள் உண்மையாயிராவிட்டால், யார் உங்களை நம்பி உங்களிடத்தில் மெய்யானபொருளை ஒப்புவிப்பார்கள்?" ( லுூக்கா 16 : 11 )

மிகப்பெரிய தொழிலதிபர் ஒருவர் இருந்தார். அவருக்குச் சொந்தமாக பலத் தொழில்  நிறுவனங்கள் இருந்தன. அவருக்கு ஒரேஒரு சிறிய மகன் இருந்தான். அவனுக்குப் பத்து அல்லது பதினோரு வயதுதான் இருக்கும். மனைவி அதிகம் படிப்பறிவில்லாதவள். நன்றாகச் சென்றுகொண்டிருந்த அவரது வாழ்வில் கொடிய நோய் பெரிய இடியாகத் தாக்கியது.  மருத்துவர் அந்தத் தொழிலதிபரிடம், "நீங்கள் முன்புபோல அதிகம் உழைக்கக்கூடாது......உங்களுக்கு நம்பிக்கைக்குரிய ஒருவரிடம் பொறுப்புகளை ஒப்படைத்துவிட்டு மேலோட்டமாக தொழிலைக் கவனித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்" என்று அறிவுரைக் கூறினார். 

மருத்துவ மனையிலிருந்து வீடு திரும்பிய அவர் பல்வேறு முறையில் சிந்தித்துவிட்டு ஒரு முடிவுடன் அவர் தனது அலுவலகத்துக்குச் சென்றார். அனைத்து முக்கியப்  பணியாளர்களையும் அழைத்து   அவர்களுடன் பேசி, மருத்துவர் கூறிய அறிவுரையின்படி அவர்களில் ஒருவரை நிறுவனத்துக்குத் தலைவராக ஏற்படுத்தப் போவதாகக் கூறினார். அங்கிருந்த பலர் அவர் தங்களைத்தான் பொறுப்பில் அமர்த்துவார் என எண்ணிக்கொண்டனர். 

ஆனால் அந்தத் தொழிலதிபர் அந்தப் பணியாளர்களின் எதிர்பார்ப்புக்கு மாறாக அவரிடம் வெறும் பன்னிரெண்டாயிரம் மாதச் சம்பளம் பெறும் கணக்கியல் துறை ஊழியர் ஒருவரை அந்தப் பொறுப்புக்குத் தான் ஏற்படுத்தப்போவதாக அறிவித்தார். எல்லோரும் அதிர்ச்சியடைந்தனர். 

ஆம், அந்த மனிதரின் உண்மை, நேர்மை, கடின உழைப்பை அந்த நிறுவன உரிமையாளர் பல்வேறு சமயங்களில் கவனித்துள்ளார். அவரால்தான் தனது நிறுவனங்களையும் தன்னையும் ஏமாற்றாமல்  உண்மையாக நடத்திடமுடியும் என்று அவர் நிதானித்திருந்தார். வெறும் பன்னிரெண்டாயிரம் மாதச் சம்பளம் பெற்றுவந்த அந்த நபர் ஒரே நாளில் மிக உயர்ந்த பதவியை அடைந்தார். மிக அதிக சம்பளம், தனி வீடு, கார், உதவியாளர்கள் என அவர் அந்த முதலாளியால் உயர்த்தப்பட்டார். காரணம் அவரிடமிருந்த உண்மை. 

இதனையே இன்றைய வசனத்தில் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து "அநீதியான உலகப்பொருளைப்பற்றி நீங்கள் உண்மையாயிராவிட்டால், யார் உங்களை நம்பி உங்களிடத்தில் மெய்யானபொருளை ஒப்புவிப்பார்கள்?" என்று கூறுகின்றார். ஆம், உலகப் பொருட்களில் உண்மையாயிருந்த அந்த மனிதனிடம் பெருமைமிகு பதவி ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டது.

மொர்தெகாயின் உயர்வுக்குக்  காரணம் அவரது உண்மை. வாயில்காப்போனாக இருந்தபோதும் அந்தப் பொறுப்பில் உண்மையாயிருந்தார். ராஜாவைக் கொலைசெய்ய முயன்றவர்களை ராஜாவுக்கு அடையாளம் காட்டினார். தனது மக்களுக்காக உண்மையாய் நின்றார். எனவே அகாஸ்வேரு ராஜாவுக்கு அடுத்த பொறுப்பில் அமர்த்தப்பட்டார். (எஸ்தர் 10:3)

அன்பானவர்களே, எந்தக் குறைந்த மாதச் சம்பளத்தில் வேலைப்பார்த்தாலும் செய்யும் வேலைக்கு உண்மையுள்ளவர்களாக நாம் இருந்தால் உயர்த்தப்படுவோம். காவல் துறையில் வேலைபார்ப்பவர்கள் அதிகம் கையூட்டு பெறுகிறார்கள் எனும் ஒரு குற்றச்சாட்டு உள்ளது. ஆனால் அந்தக் காவல்துறையிலும் உண்மையாகவும் நேர்மையாகவும் இருப்பவர்கள் உண்டு. இப்படி உண்மையுள்ளவர்கள் எல்லோரும் பதவி உயர்வு பெற்றுவிடுவார்கள் என்று நான் கூறவில்லை; மாறாக உண்மையாக இருக்கும்போது குடும்பத்தில் தேவ ஆசீர்வாதம் நிச்சயமாகத் தங்கும். 

அநீதியான உலகப்பொருளைப்பற்றி உண்மையாக இருப்போமானால் தேவன் நம்மை நம்பி மெய்யான பரலோக ராஜ்யத்தின் ரகசியங்களை ஒப்புவிப்பார். தேவன் தனது மக்களைக்  கண்டுகொள்ளாமல் விட்டுவிடுபவரல்ல.

 TRUTHFULNESS IN WORLDLY AFFAIRS

"If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?" (Luke 16: 11)

There was a great industrialist. He owned several companies. He had only one small son. He is only ten or eleven years old. His wife is illiterate. A deadly disease struck his life which was going well. The doctor advised the businessman, "You should not work as much as you used to.... delegate the responsibilities to someone you trust and take care of the business superficially."

After returning home from the hospital, thinking various pros and cons, he went to his office with a decision. He called all the key employees and talked to them and told them that he would make one of them head of the company as per the doctor's advice. Many people sitting there thought that he would put them in charge.

But the businessman, contrary to the expectations of the employees, announced that he was going to appoint an accounting department employee who has been receiving a salary of only twelve thousand per month for that responsibility. Everyone was shocked.

Yes, the company owner has observed the man's honesty, integrity and hard work at various times. He had decided that only he could run his companies and himself without deception. The man who was earning just twelve thousand as monthly salary rose to the highest position in one day. He was promoted by the boss with very high salary, separate house, car and assistants. The reason was his truth.

This is what Jesus Christ said in today's verse, "If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? Yes, the man who was faithful in worldly things was entrusted with the highest position.

Mordecai's rise was due to his truth. Even when he was a gatekeeper, he was faithful in that responsibility. He identified those who tried to kill the king and informed it to the king. He stood faithfully for his people. So, Ahasuerus placed him next to him. (Esther 10:3)

Beloved, we will be promoted if we are faithful to the work we do at any low monthly salary. There is an allegation that those who work in the police department receive more bribes. But even in that police there are true and honest men. I am not saying that all such faithful will be promoted; On the contrary, God's blessings will surely rest in their family.

If we are truthful about the unrighteous materials of the, God will trust us and reveal the secrets of the true kingdom of heaven. God does not abandon His people.

இருதயத்தில் தேவ வார்த்தைகள் / GOD'S WORDS IN HEART

ஆதவன் 🔥 935🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 20, 2023 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை

 

"நான் உமக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்யாதபடிக்கு, உமது வாக்கை என்னிருதயத்தில் வைத்து வைத்தேன்." ( சங்கீதம் 119 : 11 )

கர்த்தருடைய வேதத்தை நாம் நேசித்து வாசிக்கவேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தை இன்றைய வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. அதாவது, நாம் தேவனுடைய வேதத்தை வாசிக்கும்போதுதான் தேவனது வார்த்தைகளை நாம் அறியமுடியும். அப்படி அறியும்போதுதான் நாம் அவற்றை பாதுகாக்க முடியும். 

இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் சங்கீத ஆசிரியர் தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவம் செய்யாதபடிக்கு அவரது வார்த்தைகளை தனது இருதயத்தில் வைத்து வைத்தேன் என்கின்றார். அதாவது தேவனது வார்த்தைகள்மேலிருந்த அன்பால் அவரது வார்த்தைகளை இருதயத்தில் பாதுகாத்து வைத்துள்ளேன் என்கின்றார். 

இன்று மனிதர்களாகிய நாம் நமது இருதயத்தில் எவற்றை சேமித்து வைக்கின்றோம்? தேவையற்ற வார்த்தைகள், திரைப்படப் பாடல்கள், பிறர் நம்மைப்பற்றி கூறிய தகாத வார்த்தைகள் இவற்றைத்தான் பெரும்பாலும் சேர்த்து வைக்கின்றோம். இப்படி நமது இருதயம் தேவையற்ற பொருட்களால் நிரப்பும்போது அவைதான் நம்மிடமிருந்து வெளிவரும். 

இதனையே, "நல்ல மனுஷன் தன் இருதயமாகிய நல்ல பொக்கிஷத்திலிருந்து நல்லதை எடுத்துக் காட்டுகிறான்; பொல்லாத மனுஷன் தன் இருதயமாகிய பொல்லாத பொக்கிஷத்திலிருந்து பொல்லாததை எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறான்; இருதயத்தின் நிறைவினால் அவனவன் வாய் பேசும்." ( லுூக்கா 6 : 45 ) என்றார் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து.   தேவையற்றவைகளால் நமது இருதயம் நிரப்பும்போது தேவையற்ற வார்த்தைகளை நமது வாய் பேசும்.

உலக செல்வங்களை நாம் பணப்பெட்டியில் சேகரித்து வைக்கும்போது நமது உலக காரியங்களுக்கு அவை உதவுவதைப்போல தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளை நாம் இருதயமாகிய பெட்டகத்தில் சேர்த்து வைப்போமானால் நாம் பாவம்செய்யாதபடிக்கு அவை நமது ஆத்துமாவுக்கு காவலாக அமையும்.  ஆனால் ஒன்று, உலக செல்வங்கள் அழிந்துபோகலாம், திருட்டுப்போகலாம் ஆனால் நமது இருதயங்களில் சேர்த்து வைத்த தேவ வார்த்தைகள் என்றுமே அழிவுறாது.

அன்பானவர்களே, இன்றைய தியான வசன அதிகாரத்தின் துவக்கத்தில் சங்கீத ஆசிரியர், "கர்த்தருடைய வேதத்தின்படி நடக்கிற உத்தம மார்க்கத்தார் பாக்கியவான்கள். அவருடைய சாட்சிகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு, அவரை முழு இருதயத்தோடும் தேடுகிறவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள். அவர்கள் அநியாயம் செய்வதில்லை; அவருடைய வழிகளில் நடக்கிறார்கள்." ( சங்கீதம் 119 : 1 - 3 ) என்று கூறுகின்றார். அதாவது, கர்த்தரது வேதத்தின் சாட்சிகளைக் கவனித்து வாழ்வோமானால், நாம் அநியாயம் செய்யாமல் அவரது வழிகளில் நடகிறவர்களாக இருப்போம். 

நாம் தினசரி வேதாகமத்தை வாசிக்கவேண்டியதன் அவசியம் இதனால்தான். நாம் அவற்றை வாசிக்க வாசிக்க அவை நமது இருதயத்தில் பதியும். நாம் தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்யாதபடிக்கு, அந்த வார்த்தைகள் நம்மைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளும். தினசரி வேதாகமத்தை வாசிக்கும்போது நாம் மேலும் மேலும் மெருகடைந்து பரிசுத்தமாகின்றோம்.

                           GOD'S WORDS IN HEART

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." (Psalms 119: 11)

Today's verse says the need for us to love and read God's scriptures. That is, we can know God's words only when we read God's scriptures. Only then can we protect them in our heart.

In today's meditation verse, the psalmist says that he kept His words in his heart so that he would not sin against God. In other words, he says that he has preserved God’s words in his heart because of his love for God's words.

What do we humans store in our hearts today? Unnecessary words, movie songs, inappropriate words said about us by others are mostly added by us. When our heart is filled with such unnecessary things, that is what comes out of us.

That is why Jesus said, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." (Luke 6: 45) When our hearts are filled with unnecessary things, our mouths speak unnecessary words.

Just as when we collect worldly riches in a money box, they help us with our worldly affairs, if we put the words of God in the treasury of our heart, they will become a guard for our soul so that we do not sin. But one thing is that, worldly riches may perish and be stolen, but the words of God that are kept in our hearts will never perish.

Beloved, at the beginning of today's meditation verse chapter, the psalmist says, "Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways." (Psalms 119: 1 - 3) That is, if we observe the testimonies of God's scriptures and live, we will not do injustice and walk in His ways.

This is why we need to read the Bible daily. As we read them, they will be imprinted in our hearts. Those words will keep us from sinning against God. As we read the scriptures daily, we become more refined and sanctified.

ஆவியினால் நடத்தப்படுதல் / BEING LED BY THE SPIRIT

ஆதவன் 🔥 934🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 19, 2023 சனிக்கிழமை

"இப்படியிருக்க, பாவத்தை அறிகிற அறிவு நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினால் வருகிறபடியால், எந்த மனுஷனும் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் கிரியைகளினாலே தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நீதிமானாக்கப்படுவதில்லை." ( ரோமர் 3 : 20 )

பழைய ஏற்பாட்டுக் காலத்தில் தேவன் மோசே வழியாக பல கட்டளைகளைக் கொடுத்திருந்தார். அந்தக் கட்டளைகள் மனிதர்களின் நல்வாழ்வுக்காகவும் தேவனுக்குன் நிற்கத்தக்கத் தகுதியுள்ளவர்களாக அவர்களை மாற்றிடவும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவை. இந்தக் கட்டளைகள் அனைத்தும் பொதுவாக, "செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக", "செய்யாதே",    "நினைப்பாயாக" என அறிவுரை கூறுவனவாக இருக்கும். அதாவது இந்தச் செயல்கள் பாவம்; எனவே நீ இப்படிச் செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக என்று  இவை கூறுகின்றன. எனவே இந்தச் சட்டங்கள் மூலம் நாம் எவை எவை பாவம் என்று அறிந்துகொள்கின்றோம். 

இன்றைய தியானத்துக்குரிய வசனம் பொது மொழிபெயர்ப்பில் அழகாக பின்வருமாறு கூறுகின்றது:- "ஏனெனில் திருச்சட்டம் சார்ந்த செயல்களால் எவரும் கடவுள் முன்னிலையில் ஏற்புடையவர் ஆவதில்லை. மனிதர்கள் பாவிகள் என்பதையே சட்டம் அவர்களுக்கு உணர்த்துகின்றது." எனவே, "நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைக் கேட்கிறவர்கள் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நீதிமான்களல்ல, நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி செய்கிறவர்களே நீதிமான்களாக்கப்படுவார்கள்." ( ரோமர் 2 : 13 ) என்கின்றார் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல்.

ஆனால் பொதுவாக இன்று கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் இந்தச் சட்டங்களையும் கற்பனைகளையும் தெரிந்து வைத்துள்ளார்களேத் தவிர இவற்றின்படி செயல்படுகின்றார்களா என்பது கேள்விக்குறியே. காரணம்,  மனிதனது சுய பலவீனம். நாம் பலவீனர்களாக இருப்பதால் பல்வேறு கட்டளைகளை மீறிவிடுகின்றோம். இதனை நிவர்த்திசெய்து நமக்கு உதவிடவே கிறித்து இயேசு உலகினில் வந்து பாடுகள் பட்டார்  என நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

இதனையே, "அதெப்படியெனில், மாம்சத்தினாலே பலவீனமாயிருந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணம் செய்யக்கூடாததை தேவனே செய்யும்படிக்கு, தம்முடைய குமாரனைப் பாவமாம்சத்தின் சாயலாகவும், பாவத்தைப் போக்கும் பலியாகவும் அனுப்பி, மாம்சத்திலே பாவத்தை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்த்தார்." ( ரோமர் 8 : 3 ) எனக் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.

அதாவது இன்றைய வசனம் நமக்குக் கூறுவது, கட்டளைகள் என்பவை வெறுமனே எவை எவை பாவம் என்பதை மட்டும் நமக்கு உணர்ந்துகின்றது. உதாரணமாக நாம் சாலையில் செல்லும்போது சிக்னல் பகுதிகளில் சிகப்பு, பச்சை, ஆரஞ்சு விளக்குகள் எரிந்து நம்மை எச்சரிக்கும். அவைகளைக் கவனித்து நாம் செல்லவேண்டும். இல்லையானால் விபத்துதான் ஏற்படும். கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து ஒரு சிறந்த ஓட்டுநராக இருந்து வாழ்க்கைச் சாலையில்  பாதுகாப்பாக நாம் பயணிக்க உதவிடுவார். 

அதனையே வேதாகமம் ஆவியினால் நடத்தப்படுதல் என்று கூறுகின்றது. "ஆவியினால் நடத்தப்படுவீர்களானால், நீங்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவர்களல்ல." ( கலாத்தியர் 5 : 18 ) ஆம் , பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் நம்மை நடத்திடும்போது நாம் கட்டளைகளுக்குக் கீழ்பட்டவர்களல்ல; மாறாக அவருக்கு ஆட்பட்டவர்கள். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, பாவத்தை அறிகிற அறிவு மட்டுமே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினால் வருகிறது. எனவே, திருச்சட்டம் சார்ந்த செயல்களால் நாம் கடவுள் முன்னிலையில் ஏற்புடையவர் ஆவதில்லை. மனிதர்கள் பாவிகள் என்பதையே சட்டம் அவர்களுக்கு உணர்த்துகின்றது. எனவே நம்மை நாம் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரின் நடத்துதலுக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கவேண்டும். அப்படி  ஆவியினால் நடத்தப்படுவோமானால் நாம் திருச்சட்டத்துக்குக்  (நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்குக்)  கீழ்ப்பட்டவர்களல்ல.

"Therefore, by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." ( Romans 3 : 20 )

During the Old Testament days, God gave many commandments through Moses. The commandments were given for the welfare of men and to make them worthy to stand before God. All of these commands are generally admonitions such as "don't", "don't", "remember". That is, these actions are sinful; So, they say you should not do this. So, through these laws we only know what is sin and what acts are sin.

The verse for today's meditation is beautifully stated in the common Tamil translation: - "For those who come under the deeds of the law are not acceptable in the sight of God. The law only shows them what are sins. Therefore, " not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified." (Romans 2: 13)

But it is questionable whether Christians in general today know these laws and precepts and act according to them. The reason is human weakness. Because we are weak, we break various commandments. We read that Jesus Christ came into the world to help us solve this problem.

"For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:" (Romans 8: 3)

That is, what today's verse tells us, the commandments are simply for us to realize what is sin. For example, when we go on a ride though the road, red, green, and orange lights flash in the signal areas to warn us. We should take care of them. Otherwise, there will be an accident. Lord Jesus Christ will be a good driver and help us to travel safely.

That is what the Bible calls, being led by the Spirit. "But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law." (Galatians 5: 18) Yes, when the Holy Spirit leads us, we do not obey orders; Rather, those who are subject to him.

Yes, beloved, only the knowledge of sin comes from the law. Therefore, we do not become acceptable before God by works of the law. The law tells only what are sins. So, we must surrender ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. If we are so led by the Spirit, we are not under the law.

எங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜா வேண்டும் / WE WANT A KING

ஆதவன் 🔥 933🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 18, 2023 வெள்ளிக்கிழமை

"எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, உம்மையல்லாமல் வேறே ஆண்டவன்மார் எங்களை ஆண்டார்கள்; இனி உம்மை மாத்திரம் சார்ந்து உம்முடைய நாமத்தைப் பிரஸ்தாபப்படுத்துவோம்." ( ஏசாயா 26 : 13 )

இந்த உலகத்தில் நம்மைப் பல உலக செல்வங்கள் ஆளுமைசெய்கின்றன. பணம், புகழ், அதிகாரம், இவைபோன்றவை நமது மனதை ஆட்சிசெய்கின்றன. இவைகளே நம்மை ஆளும் ஆண்டவன்மார்கள்.  எவையெல்லாம் நம்மை அடிமைப்படுத்தியுள்ளனவோ அவையெல்லாமே நமது ஆண்டவன்மார்கள்தான். இவைகளது அதிகாரத்துக்கு நாம் உட்பட்டவர்களாக இருப்போமானால் நம்மை தேவன் முழுமையாக ஆட்சி செய்ய முடியாது. அதாவது நாம் நம்மைக்குறித்த தேவனது திட்டத்துக்கு உட்படமுடியாது. 

தேவன் தனது மக்கள் தனது அதிகாரத்துக்கு மட்டுமே கீழ்ப்படித்தவர்களாக வாழவேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகின்றார். எனவே அவரே இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களை ஆண்டு வழிநடத்தினார். ஆனால் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் தங்களைச் சுற்றியுள்ள மக்களை ஆளும் அரசர்களைப்போல தங்களுக்கும் ஒரு ராஜா இருக்கவேண்டுமென்று விரும்பினர். அவர்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய சாமுவேலிடம் சென்று நாங்களும் மற்ற மக்களைப்போலவே இருப்போம்; எங்களை ஆட்சி செய்ய எங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தித்தாரும் என்று கேட்டார்கள். ( 1 சாமுவேல் 8 : 5)

இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களது இந்தக் கோரிக்கை சாமுவேலுக்குத் தகாத ஒரு செயலாகத் தெரிந்தது. எனவே அவர் தேவனிடம் இதுகுறித்த வேதனையோடு விண்ணப்பம் செய்தார். "அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: ஜனங்கள் உன்னிடத்தில் சொல்வதெல்லாவற்றிலும் அவர்கள் சொல்லைக் கேள்; அவர்கள் உன்னைத் தள்ளவில்லை, நான் அவர்களை ஆளாதபடிக்கு, என்னைத்தான் தள்ளினார்கள்." ( 1 சாமுவேல் 8 : 7 ) என்றார். ஆம்,கர்த்தர் நம்மை ஆளுவதை விட்டுவிட்டு  மற்ற மக்கள் வாழ்வதுபோல நாம் வாழ்வதை தேவன் விரும்புவதில்லை. எனவேதான்  "நான் அவர்களை ஆளாதபடிக்கு, என்னைத்தான் தள்ளினார்கள்." என்று சாமுவேலுக்கு தேவன் பதிலளித்தார். 

அன்பானவர்களே, நமது தேவனே "நித்தியானந்தமுள்ள ஏகசக்கராதிபதியும், ராஜாதி ராஜாவும், கர்த்தாதி கர்த்தாவும்..." ( 1 தீமோத்தேயு 6 : 15 ) எனவே நாம் அவரைத் தவிர இந்த உலகச் செல்வங்களோ, அதிகாரங்களோ, புகழோ நமது இருதயத்தை ஆட்சி செய்யாதபடி பார்த்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டியது அவசியமாயிருக்கிறது. 

தேவன் நம்மை அடிமைகளாக அல்ல; உரிமைக் குடிமக்களாக வாழ அழைக்கிறார். அவர் இருப்பதுபோல நாமும் இருக்கவேண்டும் என விரும்புகின்றார். இந்த உலகக் கவர்ச்சிகள் நம்மை ஆளவிடாமல் கர்த்தர் மட்டுமே நம்மை ஆளும்படி நம்மை அவருக்கு ஒப்படைக்கும்போது நம்மை அவரைப்போல உயர்த்துவார். ஆம், "நான் ஜெயங்கொண்டு என் பிதாவினுடைய சிங்காசனத்திலே அவரோடேகூட உட்கார்ந்ததுபோல, ஜெயங்கொள்ளுகிறவனெவனோ அவனும் என்னுடைய சிங்காசனத்தில் என்னோடேகூட உட்காரும்படிக்கு அருள்செய்வேன்." ( வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 3 : 21 ) என்கிறார் பரிசுத்தரான கர்த்தர்.

அன்பானவர்களே, இதுவரை கர்த்தரையல்லாமல் வேறே உலக  ஆண்டவன்மார் நம்மை ஆட்சி செய்யும்படி ஒருவேளை நாம் அனுமதித்திருக்கலாம். ஆனால் இன்னும் நாம் அப்படி இருத்தல் கூடாது. இனி அவரை மட்டுமே சார்ந்து அவருடைய பெயரைப் மட்டுமே பிரசித்தப்படுத்துவோம்.

"O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name." (Isaiah 26: 13)

Many worldly riches dominate us in this world. Money, fame, power, etc. rule our mind. These are the lords who rule us. All that enslaves us are our masters. If we are subject to their authority, God cannot fully rule us. That means we cannot fit into God's plan for us.

God wants His people to live in obedience only to His authority. So, he himself led the people of Israel. But the people of Israel wanted to have a king for themselves like the kings who ruled the people around them. They went to the prophet Samuel and said, we will be like other people; make us a king to rule over us. (1 Samuel 8:5)

This request of the people of Israel seemed an inappropriate act to Samuel. So, he made an anguished request to God for this. "And the LORD said unto Samuel, hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them." (1 Samuel 8: 7 ) Yes, God doesn't want us to let go of the Lord and live like other people. That is why He says, “they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them."

Beloved, our God is "the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;" (1 Timothy 6: 15) Therefore, it is necessary that we do not let the riches, powers, and fame of this world rule our hearts apart from Him.

God does not make us slaves; He invites us to live as citizens of rights. He wants us to be as He is. When we surrender ourselves to be ruled only by the Lord and not let the temptations of this world rule us, He will raise us up like Him. Yes, "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." (Revelation 3: 21) says the Holy Lord.

Beloved, until now perhaps we have allowed worldly lords other than God to rule over us. But still, we should not be like that. Henceforth we shall depend on Him alone and glorify His name alone.

வாலிபப் பிராயத்திலே / IN YOUTHFUL DAYS

ஆதவன் 🔥 932🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 17, 2023 வியாழக்கிழமை

 "நீ உன் வாலிபப்பிராயத்திலே உன் சிருஷ்டிகரை நினை; தீங்குநாட்கள் வராததற்குமுன்னும், எனக்குப் பிரியமானவைகளல்ல என்று நீ சொல்லும் வருஷங்கள் சேராததற்குமுன்னும்.," ( பிரசங்கி 12 : 1 )

மனிதர்கள் பொதுவாக ஆன்மீக காரியங்களில் ஈடுபடுவது, பக்திச் செயல்பாடுகளில் ஈடுபடுவது போன்றவை  முதிர்ந்த வயதுக்குரிய செயல்பாடுகள் என்று எண்ணிக்கொள்கின்றனர். இளம் வயது, வாலிப வயது இவை இன்பமாக நாம் வாழக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நாட்கள் எனப் பலரும்  எண்ணிக்கொள்கின்றனர். ஆனால் இன்றைய வசனம்  "நீ உன் வாலிபப்பிராயத்திலே உன் சிருஷ்டிகரை நினை" என்று அறிவுறுத்துகின்றது. 

மேலும் துன்பங்கள் வரும்போது மட்டுமே கடவுளைத் தேடுவது, துன்பமான ஆண்டுகள் வாழ்வில் தொடரும்போது கடவுளை நினைப்பது என்று நாம் வாழாமல் வாலிப வயதிலேயே கடவுளைத் தேடுபவர்களாக வாழவேண்டும் என்று இன்றைய வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. இதனையே, "தீங்குநாட்கள் வராததற்குமுன்னும், எனக்குப் பிரியமானவைகளல்ல என்று நீ சொல்லும் வருஷங்கள் சேராததற்குமுன்னும்" என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

நம்மிடம் நன்கு பழுத்த மாம்பழம் இருக்கின்றது என வைத்துக்கொள்வோம். அந்தப் பழத்தை நன்றாக சுவைத்துத் தின்றுவிட்டு அதன் கொட்டையோடு ஒட்டியுள்ள கழிவுப் பகுதியை மட்டும் யாருக்காவது கொடுப்போமா? ஆம், இப்படியே நம்மில்  பலரும் இருக்கின்றோம். உடல் ஆரோக்கியமாக,  திடமாக இருக்கும்போது எத்தனையும்பற்றி கவலைப்படாமல் நன்றாக வாழ்க்கையை அனுபவித்துவிட்டு உடல் நலிந்து, நோயுற்று வாடியபின்பு கடவுளை நாடி அவருக்குத் தங்களை ஒப்படைக்கலாம் என்று முயலுகின்றோம்.  

அன்பானவர்களே, இன்றைய வசனத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து வாசிக்கும்போது,  "மண்ணானது தான் முன்னிருந்த பூமிக்குத் திரும்பி, ஆவி தன்னைத்தந்த தேவனிடத்திற்கு மறுபடியும் போகாததற்குமுன்னும், அவரை உன் வாலிபப்பிராயத்திலே நினை." ( பிரசங்கி 12 : 7 ) என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளதைப்  பார்க்கின்றோம். அதாவது, மண்ணான நமது உடல் தான் முன்பு இருந்த மண்ணுக்குத் திரும்புமுன்னும், நம்முடைய ஆவி தேவனிடம் திரும்புமுன்னும் நமது வாலிப வயதில் தேவனைத் தேடவேண்டும்.

வாலிப வயதில் தேவனைத் தேடுவதால் நாம் பாவ பழக்கங்களுக்குத் தப்பி பரிசுத்தமாக வாழமுடியும். யோசேப்பின் வாழ்க்கையைப் பாருங்கள், போத்திபாரின் மனைவி தன்னோடு அவனைப் பாவம்செய்ய பலமுறை அழைத்தபோதும் "........நான் இத்தனை பெரிய பொல்லாங்குக்கு உடன்பட்டு, தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவம் செய்வது எப்படி" ( ஆதியாகமம் 39 : 9 ) என்று கூறி யோசேப்பு தன்னைக் காத்துக்கொண்டான். அப்போது அவனுக்கு இருபது அல்லது இருபத்துமூன்று வயதுகள்தான் இருந்திருக்கும். இதற்குக் காரணம், தேவனோடுள்ள அவனது தனிப்பட்ட உறவு. அந்த இளம் வயதிலேயே அவன் தனது வாழ்க்கையில் தேவனை முன்னிறுதிப் பார்த்தான். அதனால் கர்த்தர் யோசேப்போடு இருந்தார் என்று நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம் (ஆதியாகமம் 39:2) 

எனவே தேவனைத் தேடுவதற்கு முதிர்ந்த வயதுவரைக் காத்திருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியமில்லாதது. வாலிப வயதில் கர்த்தரைத் தேடும்போது நம்மை அவர் அதிக நாட்கள் பயன்படுத்த முடியம். மட்டுமல்ல, வாலிபத்தின் பாவ காரியங்களுக்கு விலகி பரிசுத்தமாய் வாழ முடியும். நமக்கு இப்போது வயதாகியிருந்தாலும் நமது குழந்தைகள், பேரக்குழந்தைகளை கர்த்தரை வாலிப வயதில் தேடுபவர்களாக வளரச்செய்திடுவோம்.

                                IN YOUTHFUL DAYS

"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;" (Ecclesiastes 12: 1)

People generally think that engaging in spiritual activities and devotional activities are for mature people. Many people think that youth and adolescence are the days are given to live happily. But today's verse instructs, "Remember your Creator in your youth."

And today's verse says that we should live as those who seek God at an early age rather than seeking God only when suffering comes and thinking of God when the sad years continue in life. This is what has been said, “while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them"

Suppose we have a ripe mango. Shall we eat the fruit tasting it well and give only the waste part attached to the nut to someone? Yes, many of us are like this. When the body is healthy and strong, we enjoy life well without worrying about anything, and when the body is weak, sick and withered, we try to seek God and surrender ourselves to Him.

Beloved, as we continue reading today's verse it is said, “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12: 7) That is to say, before our dusty body returns to the dust it was before, and before our spirit returns to God, we must seek God in our teenage years.

By seeking God in our youth, we can avoid sinful habits and live a holy life. Look at the life of Joseph, even when Potiphar's wife insisted him to sin with her several times, Joseph defended himself by saying "... how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" (Genesis 39: 9) He would have been only twenty or twenty-three years old then. This is because of his personal relationship with God at that young age, he envisioned God in his life. And so, we read that the Lord was with Joseph (Genesis 39:2).

Therefore, it is not necessary to wait till adulthood to seek God. When we seek the Lord in our youth, He can use us more years. Not only that, we can stay away from the sinful things of youth and live a holy life. Even though we are old now, let us make our children and grandchildren grow up to be seekers of the Lord in their youth.

பிரியமான ஆராதனை / PLEASING WORSHIP

ஆதவன் 🔥 931🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 16, 2023 புதன்கிழமை

"ஆதலால், அசைவில்லாத ராஜ்யத்தைப் பெறுகிறவர்களாகிய நாம் பயத்தோடும் பக்தியோடும் தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமாய் ஆராதனை செய்யும்படி கிருபையைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளக்கடவோம்." ( எபிரெயர் 12 : 28 )

இந்த உலகத்து அரசாங்கங்கள் அழிந்துபோகக்கூடியன. எத்தனையோ மகா பேரரசுகள் சரித்திரத்தில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளன. ஆனால் அவை எதுவுமே இன்றுவரை நிலைநிற்கவில்லை. ஆம், உலக ராஜ்ஜியங்கள் அழிந்துபோகக்கூடியன. அனால் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து நமக்கு வாக்களித்ததோ அழிவில்லாத நித்திய ராஜ்ஜியம். 

கண்களால் நாம் காணக்கூடாத நித்திய ராஜ்யத்தின் ராஜாவாக கிறிஸ்து இருக்கின்றார். "நித்தியமும் அழிவில்லாமையும் அதரிசனமுமுள்ள ராஜனுமாய், தாம் ஒருவரே ஞானமுள்ள தேவனுமாயிருக்கிறவருக்கு, கனமும் மகிமையும் சதாகாலங்களிலும் உண்டாயிருப்பதாக. " ( 1 தீமோத்தேயு 1 : 17 ) என எழுதுகின்றார் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல். 

இந்த அழிவில்லாத ராஜ்யத்தை சுதந்தரிக்கவேண்டுமானால் நாம் பரிசுத்த வாழ்வு வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம். ஏனெனில் அசுத்தமும் தீட்டும் உள்ளவைகள் அந்த நித்திய ராஜ்யத்தினுள் நுழைய முடியாது. "தீட்டுள்ளதும் அருவருப்பையும் பொய்யையும் நடப்பிக்கிறதுமாகிய ஒன்றும் அதில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை; ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவரின் ஜீவபுஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டவர்கள் மாத்திரம் அதில் பிரவேசிப்பார்கள்." ( வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 21 : 27 )

இத்தகைய பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கான அசைவில்லாத ராஜ்யத்தைப் பெறுகிறவர்களாகிய நாம் பயத்தோடும் பக்தியோடும் தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமாய் ஆராதனை செய்யும்படி கிருபையைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளக்கடவோம் என்று இன்றைய வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. நாம் எல்லோருமே பொதுவாக தேவனுக்கு  ஆராதனை செய்கின்றோம்.  ஆனால் அது தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான ஆராதனையா என்று  நாம் எண்ணிப்பார்ப்பதில்லை. எனவே நாம் தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான ஆராதனை செய்து இந்த உலகத்தில் வாழவேண்டியது அவசியமாயிருக்கிறது. எது தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான ஆராதனை என்பதனை அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் அடிகள் பின்வருமாறு கூறுகின்றார்;- 

"அப்படியிருக்க, சகோதரரே, நீங்கள் உங்கள் சரீரங்களைப் பரிசுத்தமும் தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமுமான ஜீவபலியாக ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கவேண்டுமென்று, தேவனுடைய இரக்கங்களை முன்னிட்டு உங்களை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறேன்; இதுவே நீங்கள் செய்யத்தக்க புத்தியுள்ளஆராதனை." ( ரோமர் 12 : 1 )

நமது உடல் பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் ஆலயமாயிருக்கிறது (1 கொரிந்தியர் 6:19) எனவே நமது உடலை அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் கூறுவதுபோல பரிசுத்தமும் தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமுமான ஜீவபலியாக ஒப்புக்கொடுக்க வேண்டும். அப்படி நாம் உடலை பரிசுத்தமாகக் காத்துக்கொள்வது தேவனுக்கேற்ற ஆராதனையாயிருக்கிறது. அப்படி நாம் நமது உடலைப்  பரிசுத்தமாக காத்துக்கொள்ளும்போது அசைவற்றதும் நிலையானதுமான நித்திய ஜீவனுக்குத் தகுதியுள்ளவர்களாகின்றோம்.  அதற்கேற்ற கிருபையை அவர் நமக்குத் தந்து வழிநடத்திட வேண்டுவோம். கர்த்தர்தாமே நம்மை ஆசீர்வதிப்பாராக.

                PLEASING WORSHIP

"Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear" (Hebrews 12: 28)

The governments of this world will perish. There have been many great empires in history. But none of them have survived till date. Yes, the kingdoms of the world are perishable. But what the Lord Jesus Christ has promised us is the eternal kingdom that will not perish.

Christ is the King of the eternal kingdom that we cannot see with our eyes. Apostle Paul writes, "Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen." ( 1 Timothy 1 : 17 )

If we want to inherit this indestructible kingdom, we must live a holy life. Because that which is impure and defiled cannot enter that eternal kingdom. "And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." (Revelation 21: 27)

Today's verse says that we, who receive the immovable kingdom for such saints, must hold on to the grace to worship God with fear and devotion. We all worship God in general. But we do not consider whether it is a worship pleasing to God. So, it is necessary for us to worship God in pleasing manner and live in this world. The apostle Paul says the following about what worship is pleasing to God; -

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12: 1)

Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19).  So, we should present our body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, as the Apostle Paul says. Keeping the body holy is true worship to God. Thus, when we keep our bodies holy, we qualify for eternal life, immovable and stable. May Jesus give us the grace to guide us accordingly. May the Lord himself bless us.

மெய் விடுதலை / TRUE FREEDOM

ஆதவன் 🔥 930🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 15, 2023 செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை

"சத்தியத்தை அறிவீர்கள், சத்தியம் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கும்"( யோவான் 8 : 32 )

இன்று நமது நாடு தனது எழுபத்தாறாவது சுதந்திரத்தினத்தைக் கொண்டாடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது. சுதந்திரம் என்றாலே  மகிழ்ச்சிதான். கூண்டிலேயே அடைபட்டிருக்கும் பறவையைத் திறந்துவிடும்போது அது மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் வானில் சிறகடித்துப் பறக்கின்றது. 

இன்று மனிதர்கள் நாம் நம்மை அறியாமலேயே  சமூக ஊடகங்களின் அடிமைகளாக இருக்கின்றோம். இதனால் சுமார் ஐம்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் குழந்தைகள் அனுபவித்த பல்வேறு மகிழ்ச்சிச் செயல்பாடுகளை இன்றைய குழந்தைகள் இழந்துவிட்டனர்.  

விடுதலை அடையவிரும்புகின்றவன் முதலில் தான் அடிமை என்பதை உணரவேண்டும். அப்போதுதான் அதிலிருந்த விடுதலை பெறவேண்டுமெனும் ஆவல் அவனில் உருவாகும். நமது சுதந்திர போராட்டத் தலைவர்கள் இதனையே மக்கள் மத்தியில் பிரச்சாரம் செய்தனர். நாம் ஆங்கிலேயர்களுக்கு அடிமையாக இருக்கின்றோம். அவர்களிடமிருந்து நாம் விடுதலைபெறும்போது நமது நாடு எப்படி மேம்பாடடையும் என்று பிரச்சாரம் செய்து மக்கள் உணர்வுகளைத் தூண்டி எழுப்பினர்.  

இதுபோலவே மனிதர்களது ஆவிக்குரிய மகிழ்ச்சியானது பாவத்துக்கு அடிமையானதால் இல்லாமல் போய்விட்டது. ஆனால், பாவத்தைப்பற்றியும் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை பெறும்போது நமக்குக்  கிடைக்கும் மகிழ்ச்சி குறித்தும் மனிதர்கள் உணர்வில்லாமல் இருக்கின்றனர். இந்த உணர்வும் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை பெறவேண்டுமெனும் எண்ணமும் உருவாகும்போதுதான் நாம் பாவ விடுதலை பெறமுடியும். 

பொதுவாக நாம் சுதந்திரவான்கள் போலத் தெரிந்தாலும் நாம் பாவத்துக்கு அடிமையானவர்களே. இதனையே இயேசு கிறிஸ்து, "பாவஞ்செய்கிறவன் எவனும் பாவத்துக்கு அடிமையாயிருக்கிறான் என்று மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்." ( யோவான் 8 : 34 ) என்று குறிப்பிட்டார். 

பாவ அடிமைத்தனத்தில் இருந்துகொண்டு நாம் மெய்யான ஆன்மீக உணர்வுகளைப்  பெறமுடியாது. தேவனோடுள்ள உறவினையும் அதன் மேன்மையையும் அறியமுடியாது. பெயரளவுக்கு ஆலயங்களுக்குச் சென்று வந்துகொண்டிருக்கலாம். ஆனால் நாம் வழிபடும் தேவனோடு நமக்கு எந்தத் தொடர்பும் இருக்காது.  தேவனோடுள்ள உறவே விடுதலையையும்   மகிழ்ச்சியையும் அளிக்கும். 

இன்றைய வசனம் சத்தியத்தை அறிவீர்கள், சத்தியம் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கும் என்று கூறுகின்றது. அந்த சத்தியம் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவே. "நானே வழியும் சத்தியமும் ஜீவனுமாயிருக்கிறேன்; என்னாலேயல்லாமல் ஒருவனும் பிதாவினிடத்தில் வரான்." ( யோவான் 14 : 6 ) என்று அவர் கூறவில்லையா? நமது பாவங்களுக்குத் தனது இரத்தத்தால் பரிகாரம் செய்தவர் அவரே. எனவே அவர்தான் நம் பாவங்களை மன்னிக்கவும் பாவத்தின் பிடியிலிருந்து நம்மை விடுவிக்கவும் முடியும். ஆம், "குமாரன் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கினால் மெய்யாகவே விடுதலையாவீர்கள்." ( யோவான் 8 : 36 )

இப்படிப் பாவ மன்னிப்பைப் பெறும்போது நாம் அவரது பிள்ளைகளாகின்றோம்; நாம் அடிமைகளல்ல. பிள்ளைகளுக்குரிய சுதந்திரம் நமக்குக் கிடைக்கின்றது.  "அந்தப்படி, திரும்பவும் பயப்படுகிறதற்கு நீங்கள் அடிமைத்தனத்தின் ஆவியைப் பெறாமல், அப்பா பிதாவே, என்று கூப்பிடப்பண்ணுகிற புத்திரசுவிகாரத்தின் ஆவியைப் பெற்றீர்கள்." ( ரோமர் 8 : 15 ) என்கின்றார் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர். ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, சத்தியமான கிறிஸ்துவை நாம் அறியவேண்டும். கிறிஸ்துவைப் பற்றிய வரலாறையும் அவரது புதுமைகளையுமல்ல; அவரை நமது ஆத்தும இரட்சகராக  அறியவேண்டும். அப்படி அறியும்போது, அந்தச் சத்தியமான கிறிஸ்து நம்மை மெய்யாகவே பாவ அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையாக்குவார்.

                                        TRUE FREEDOM

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."  (John 8 : 32 )

Today our country is celebrating its 76th Independence Day. Freedom is happiness. When the caged bird is opened, it happily flutters its wings in the sky.

Today we humans are slaved to social media without realizing it. Due to this, the children of today have lost the various fun activities that children enjoyed about fifty years ago.

He who wants to be free must first realize that he is a slave. Only then will the desire to be freed from it develop in him. Our freedom struggle leaders propagated this among the people. We were once slaves to the British. They stirred people's feelings by propagandizing how our country will improve when we are freed from them.

In the same way, the spiritual happiness of men is lost because of their slavery to sin. But men are insensible to sin and to the joy that comes to us when we are freed from sin. Only when this feeling and desire to be freed from sin is formed, we can be freed from sin.

Although we usually look like we are free, we are slaves to sin. This is what Jesus Christ said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin." (John 8: 34)

We cannot have true spiritual feelings while we are in bondage to sin. The relationship with God and its greatness cannot be known. We may be visiting the temples nominally. But we will have nothing to do with the God we worship. Only a relationship with God brings freedom and happiness.

Today's verse says that you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. That truth is the Lord Jesus Christ. Did he not say,  "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." ( John 14 : 6 ) He is the one who atoned for our sins with His blood. So, He is the one who can forgive our sins and free us from the clutches of sin. Yes, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (John 8: 36)

When we receive this forgiveness of sins, we become His children; We are not slaves. We get the freedom of children. "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8 : 15 ), Paul the apostle said. Yes beloved, we must know the true Christ. Not the history of Christ and his miracles; We should know him personally as our soul's saviour. When we know that, Christ will truly set us free from the bondage of sin.

பிசாசுகளின் விசுவாசம் / FAITH OF DEVILS

ஆதவன் 🔥 929🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 14, 2023 திங்கள்கிழமை

 

"தேவன் ஒருவர் உண்டென்று விசுவாசிக்கிறாய், அப்படிச் செய்கிறது நல்லதுதான்; பிசாசுகளும் விசுவாசித்து, நடுங்குகின்றன. வீணான மனுஷனே, கிரியைகளில்லாத விசுவாசம் செத்ததென்று நீ அறியவேண்டாமோ? ( யாக்கோபு 2 : 19, 20 )

நாம் அனைவருமே பொதுவாக தேவனை விசுவாசிக்கின்றோம். அப்படி விசுவாசிப்பதால்தான் ஆலயங்களுக்கு வருகின்றோம், தேவனுக்கு அஞ்சி சில காரியங்களைச் செய்யாமல் தவிர்க்கின்றோம், வேதாகமத்தை வாசிக்கின்றோம், அவரிடம் ஜெபிக்கின்றோம். இத்தகைய விசுவாசம் நல்லதுதான். ஆனால் இந்த விசுவாசம் மேலான விசுவாசமல்ல என்கின்றார் அப்போஸ்தலரான யாக்கோபு. 

காரணம், பிசாசுகளாலும் ஆலயங்களுக்கு வரமுடியும். தேவ சந்நிதியில் பிசாசுகளும் வந்து நின்றதை நாம் யோபு புத்தகத்தில் வாசிக்கின்றோம் (யோபு 1:6, மற்றும் யோபு 2:1).  இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவையே சோதித்தது சாத்தான். மேலும் நமக்குத் தெரிவதைவிட வேத வசனங்கள் பிசாசுகளுக்கு அதிகம் தெரியும். இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை சாத்தான் சோதித்தபோது வேத வசனங்களையே பயன்படுத்தினான் (மத்தேயு 4:1-11) ஆனால், பிசாசுகள் இயேசுவைக் கண்டு நடுநடுங்கின. காரணம் பிசாசுகளுக்கு தேவனைப்பற்றியும் அவரது பரிசுத்தத்தைப் பற்றியும்  வல்லமை பற்றி அதிகம் தெரியும். காரணம் ஆதியில் அவரோடு இருந்து பின்னர் பாதாளத்தில் தள்ளப்பட்டவைகள்தான் பிசாசுகள் (எசேக்கியேல் 28).

எனவே, நாமும் வெறுமனே தேவனை நம்புகிறேன் என்று கூறிக்கொண்டு சில பக்தி முயற்சிகளை மட்டும் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தால் போதாது. கிறிஸ்துவின்மேலுள்ள நமது விசுவாசத்தைச் செயலில் காண்பிக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். இல்லையானால் கிறிஸ்துவை அறியாத மக்கள் பிற தெய்வங்களை வழிபடுவதுபோல நாமும் கிறிஸ்துவை வழிபடுபவர்களாகவே இருப்போம். 

கிறிஸ்துமேலுள்ள நமது விசுவாசம் செயலாக வெளிப்படும்போது நாமும் கிறிஸ்துவைப்போல மாறுகின்றோம்.   அதாவது கிறிஸ்துவின்மேல் உண்மையான விசுவாசம் வைக்கும்போது நாம் நீதிசெயல்கள் செய்யாமல் அவர்மேல்வைக்கும் நமது விசுவாசத்தினால் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுலை பெறுகின்றோம்; நீதிமானாக்கப் படுகின்றோம்.   பாவத்துக்கு விலகிடும் நாம் ஆவியின் பிரமாணத்துக்குள் வந்துவிடுகின்றோம்.  

இதனையே, "கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினாலே ஜீவனுடைய ஆவியின் பிரமாணம் என்னைப் பாவம் மரணம் என்பவைகளின் பிரமாணத்தினின்று விடுதலையாக்கிற்றே." ( ரோமர் 8 : 2 ) என்கின்றார் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர்.  அன்பானவர்களே, இத்தகைய அனுபவத்தைப் பெற்று கிறிஸ்துவுக்களுள் வாழ்வதுதான் விசுவாச வாழ்க்கை. வெறுமனே கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசிக்கிறேன் என்று கூறிக்கொண்டு ஆலயங்களுக்குச் செல்வதல்ல; அவர் பாவத்திலிருந்து நம்மை விடுவிக்கிறார் எனும் விசுவாசம். 

இந்த விசுவாசமும் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையும்  பிசாசுகளுக்குக் கிடையாது. எனவேதான் இன்றைய வசனம், "தேவன் ஒருவர் உண்டென்று விசுவாசிக்கிறாய், அப்படிச் செய்கிறது நல்லதுதான்; பிசாசுகளும் விசுவாசித்து, நடுங்குகின்றன. வீணான மனுஷனே, கிரியைகளில்லாத விசுவாசம் செத்ததென்று நீ அறியவேண்டாமோ? என்று கேள்வி எழுப்புகின்றது. ஆம், நமது விசுவாசம் செயலாகவேண்டும்.

மேலும் இந்த விசுவாசச் செயல்கள் நம்மிடம் இல்லையானால் நாம் செத்தவிசுவாசம் கொண்டவர்கள் என்கின்றது வேதம். ஆம்,  "அப்படியே, ஆவியில்லாத சரீரம் செத்ததாயிருக்கிறதுபோல, கிரியைகளில்லாத விசுவாசமும் செத்ததாயிருக்கிறது." ( யாக்கோபு 2 : 26 ) எனவே உயிருள்ளவர்களாகிய நாம் நமது விசுவாசத்தைச் செயலில் காண்பிப்போம். அதற்கு, முதலில் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின் ஆவியின் பிரமாணத்துக்குள் நம்மை உட்படுத்திக்கொள்வோம்.

                                   FAITH OF DEVILS

"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?" ( James 2 : 19, 20 )

We all generally believe in God. It is because of that belief that we come to temples, avoid doing certain things out of fear of God, read the scriptures, and pray to Him. Such faith is good. But this faith is not the greatest faith, says the apostle, James.

The reason is that even devils can visit temples. We read in the book of Job that devils also stood in the presence of God (Job 1:6, and Job 2:1). Satan tested Jesus Christ. And devils know more about the scriptures than we do. When Satan tested Jesus Christ, he used the same scriptures (Matthew 4:1-11), but the devils trembled when they saw Jesus. Because devils know too much about God and His holiness and power. Because the devils were the ones who were with him in the beginning and then cast into hell (Ezekiel 28).

Therefore, it is not enough for us to simply claim to believe in God and make some devotional efforts. It is necessary to show our faith in Christ in action. Otherwise, we will be worshipers of Christ just as people who do not know Christ worship other gods.

When our faith in Christ is manifested in action, we become like Christ. That is, when we have true faith in Christ, we are freed from sin by our faith in Him without doing righteous deeds; We are justified. When we turn away from sin, we come into the covenant of the Spirit.

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." (Romans 8: 2) Paul the apostle said. Beloved, having such an experience and living in Christ is the life of faith. Not just going to church claiming to believe in Christ; Faith that He frees us from sin.

Devils do not have this faith and freedom from sin. That is why today's verse asks, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?". Yes, our faith must be manifested in our actions.

And if we do not have this faith, the scriptures say that we have dead faith. Yes, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." (James 2: 26) So we who are alive will show our faith in action. For that, let us first put ourselves under the covenant of the Spirit of Christ Jesus.

பெருந்திண்டி / GLUTTONY

ஆதவன் 🔥 928🌻 ஆகஸ்ட் 13, 2023 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை

"உங்கள் இருதயங்கள் பெருந்திண்டியினாலும் வெறியினாலும் லவுகீக கவலைகளினாலும் பாரமடையாதபடிக்கும், நீங்கள் நினையாத நேரத்தில் அந்த நாள் உங்கள்மேல் வராதபடிக்கும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்." ( லுூக்கா 21 : 34 )

தனது இரண்டாம் வருகையினைக்குறித்து இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறியவையே இன்றைய தியான வார்த்தைகள். இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தனது இரண்டாம் வருகைக்குச் சில முன்னடையாளங்களை  மக்களுக்கு எடுத்துக் கூறினார். அப்படிக் கூறிவிட்டு இறுதியில் இன்றைய வசனத்தைக் கூறினார். 

இந்த வசனம் பெருந்திண்டி , அதாவது உணவுமேல் அளவுக்கதிக ஆசைகொண்டு உண்பது. அதிக ஆசைகொண்டு உணவுக்காக ஓடுவது. போஜனப்பிரியம் என்று இதனைக் கூறுவர்.  அடுத்து, வெறிகொள்ளுதல்  (குடிவெறி, காமவெறி, போன்றவெறிகொள்ளுதல்)  மூன்றாவது,  உலக ஆசைகளை எண்ணி அவைகளுக்காக மட்டுமே ஓடுவதும் கவலைகொண்டு அலைவதும். இவைபோன்ற காரியாக்களில் நாம் ஈடுபட்டிருப்போமானால் நாம் நினையாத நேரத்தில் அவரது வருகை இருக்கும். அதனால் இவைபோன்ற காரியங்களில் எச்சரிக்கையாக இருங்கள் என்கின்றார். அதாவது, இவைகளைத் தவிர்த்து வாழ்வோருக்கு அவர் தனது வருகைக்குமுன் அறிவிப்புக் கொடுப்பார். 

இன்று சில விருந்துகளில்  உணவுக்காக சிலர் அளவுக்கதிக ஆசைகொண்டு ஓடுவதையும் கிடைத்தவை அனைத்தையும் உண்டுவிடவேண்டும் என்று விரும்புவதையும் நாம் காணலாம். காரணம் பெருந்திண்டி எனும் போஜனப்பிரியம். இது பெரிய பாவங்களில் ஒன்றாக வேதத்தில் குறிப்பிடப்படுகின்றது.

ஆண்டவரது வருகையைக் குறித்து அதிகம் வெளிப்படுத்தியவர் தானியேல் தீர்க்கத்தரிசி. இந்தத்  தானியேல் இயேசு கூறியதுபடி உணவு விஷயத்தில் கவனமாக இருந்தார். பாபிலோன் ராஜா தான் உண்ணும் ராஜ உணவுகளை தானியேலுக்கும் அவரது மூன்று நண்பர்களுக்கும்  அளிக்க முன்வந்தும் தானியேலும் அவரது நண்பர்களும் அவைகளை மறுத்து பருப்பும் காய்கறி உணவுமே தங்களுக்குப் போதும் என்று உணவு விஷயத்தில் அடக்கமாக இருந்தார்கள்.  இதனை, "தானியேல் ராஜாவின் போஜனத்தினாலும் அவர் பானம்பண்ணும் திராட்சரசத்தினாலும் தன்னைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தலாகாதென்று, தன் இருதயத்தில் தீர்மானம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டு, தன்னைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாதபடி பிரதானிகளின் தலைவனிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்." ( தானியேல் 1 : 8 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

அப்படி அவர்கள் சாதாரண உணவுகளை உண்டபோதும் ராஜ உணவினை உண்டவர்களைவிட முகக்களையும் உடல் செழுமையம் உள்ளவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.  ஆம், "பத்துநாள் சென்றபின்பு, ராஜபோஜனத்தைப் புசித்த எல்லா வாலிபரைப்பார்க்கிலும் அவர்கள் முகம் களையுள்ளதாயும், சரீரம் புஷ்டியுள்ளதாயும் காணப்பட்டது." ( தானியேல் 1 : 15 )

அன்பானவர்களே, ராஜ உணவினையும்  திராட்சை ரசத்தையும் தவிர்த்து உலக ஆசை இச்சைகளைத் தவிர்த்து பரிசுத்தமாய்த் தன்னைக் காத்துக்கொண்ட தானியேலுக்கு பல மறைபொருட்களைத் தேவன் வெளிப்படுத்தினார்.  "இந்த நாலு வாலிபருக்கும் தேவன் சகல எழுத்திலும் ஞானத்திலும் அறிவையும் சாமர்த்தியத்தையும் கொடுத்தார்; தானியேலைச் சகல தரிசனங்களையும் சொப்பனங்களையும் அறியத்தக்க அறிவுள்ளவனாக்கினார்." ( தானியேல் 1 : 17 )

இதனையே இயேசு கிறிஸ்து இன்றைய வசனத்தில் நமக்கும் அறிவுரையாகக் கூறுகின்றார். "உங்கள் இருதயங்கள் பெருந்திண்டியினாலும் வெறியினாலும் லவுகீக கவலைகளினாலும் பாரமடையாதபடிக்குக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்" என்று.  அப்போது கிறிஸ்துவின் வருகைக்கு நாம் தகுதியுள்ளவர்கள் ஆவதுமட்டுமல்ல, வருகை குறித்த எச்சரிப்பையும் முன்னமே பெறுவோம்.   கர்த்தரது வார்தைக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பது நமது ஆத்துமாவுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, உடல் ஆரோக்கியத்துக்கும் ஏற்றதாயிருக்கிறது. மருத்துவர்களும் இன்று உணவைக் குறைத்து வாழ்வது ஆரோக்கியம் என்றுதான் கூறுகின்றனர். 

இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் வார்த்தைகளுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து நமது ஆத்துமாவையும் உடலையும் காத்துக்கொள்வோம்.

"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares." ( Luke 21 : 34 )

Today's meditation words are what Jesus Christ said about his second coming. Jesus Christ gave the people some signs of his second coming. After saying that, he finally said today's verse.

This verse says if we are engaged in such things like gluttony, which means overeating, craving and running for food, that is food addiction, infatuation (drunkenness, lasciviousness, infatuation) and third, running and worrying about worldly desires His visit will come at a time when we do not think. So be careful in such things. That is, He will give notice before His coming to those who live apart from these.

In some parties today we can see some people running with excessive desire for food and wanting to eat all that is available. The reason is gluttony. It is mentioned in the Bible as one of the major sins.

The prophet Daniel was the one who revealed the most about the second coming of the Lord. This Daniel was careful about food as Jesus said. The king of Babylon offered to give Daniel and his three friends royal food that he would eat, but Daniel and his friends refused them and were humble in the matter of food saying that only vegetable and dhal food was enough for them. "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself." ( Daniel 1 : 8 ) we read.

Even when they ate ordinary food, their faces and bodies were richer than those who ate royal food. Yes, "And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat." (Daniel 1: 15)

Beloved, God revealed many hidden things to Daniel who kept himself holy by avoiding royal food and wine and avoiding worldly desires. "As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams." ( Daniel 1 : 17 )

This is what Jesus Christ advises us in today's verse. Take heed that lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. If we live a life like that, then we will not only be qualified for the coming of Christ, but we will also receive a forewarning of the coming. Listening to God's word is good not only for our soul but also for our physical health. Doctors today also say that eating less is healthy.

Let us listen to the words of Jesus Christ and protect our soul and body.
