இச்சை / LUST

 'ஆதவன்' வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,051              டிசம்பர் 14, 2023 வியாழக்கிழமை

"இச்சையானது கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, பாவத்தைப் பிறப்பிக்கும், பாவம் பூரணமாகும்போது, மரணத்தைப் பிறப்பிக்கும்." ( யாக்கோபு 1 : 15 )

இச்சை என்பது எதனைப்பற்றியாவது நாம் அளவுக்கதிக ஆசைப் படுவதைக் குறிக்கின்றது. இச்சை பாவம் என்று வேதாகமம் கூறுவதற்குக் காரணம் என்ன என்பதனை இன்றைய வசனம் விளக்குகின்றது. அதாவது இப்படி நாம் இச்சைக் கொள்ளும்போது அது பல்வேறுவிதப் பாவங்களைச் செய்யத் தூண்டுகின்றது. அப்படி நாம் பாவத்தில் விழும்போது ஆத்தும மரணத்தை அடைகின்றோம்.

எனவேதான் தேவன் கொடுத்த பத்துக்கட்டளைகளில் இதனை ஒரு கட்டளையாகக் கொடுத்தார். "பிறனுடைய வீட்டை இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக; பிறனுடைய மனைவியையும், அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரனையும், அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரியையும், அவனுடைய எருதையும், அவனுடைய கழுதையையும், பின்னும் பிறனுக்குள்ள யாதொன்றையும் இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக என்றார்." ( யாத்திராகமம் 20 : 17 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

இன்றைய பத்திரிகைகளில் அன்றாடம் வரும் கொலை, களவு, கற்பழிப்பு, ஏமாற்று போன்ற காரியங்களுக்குக் காரணம் இச்சைதான். ஆனால் நாம் இச்சையினால் வரும் விளைவுகளைப் பாவமாக எண்ணுகின்றோமேத்தவிர இச்சை பாவம் என்று எண்ணுவதில்லை. எனவேதான் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் கூறுகின்றார், "இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக என்று நியாயப்பிரமாணம் சொல்லாதிருந்தால், இச்சை பாவம் என்று நான் அறியாமலிருப்பேனே.'  ( ரோமர் 7 : 7 )

நாம் மற்றவர்களை உண்மையாக அன்புசெய்யும்போது அவர்களது உடைமைகளை நாம் இச்சிக்கமாட்டோம். இதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், "எப்படியென்றால், விபசாரம் செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, கொலை செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, களவு செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, பொய்ச்சாட்சி சொல்லாதிருப்பாயாக, இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக என்கிற இந்தக் கற்பனைகளும், வேறே எந்தக் கற்பனையும், உன்னிடத்தில் நீ அன்புகூருகிறதுபோலப் பிறனிடத்திலும் அன்புகூருவாயாக என்கிற ஒரே வார்த்தையிலே தொகையாய் அடங்கியிருக்கிறது." ( ரோமர் 13 : 9 ) என்கின்றார். 

எனவே இச்சையை மேற்கொள்ள ஒரே வழி கிறிஸ்து கூறிய மூல கட்டளையான, "தன்னைத்தான் நேசிப்பதுபோல பிறரையும் நேசிப்பது" எனும் கட்டளையை நாம் கைக்கொள்வதுதான்.  நாம் அனைவருமே ஒரே தேவனால் படைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், அவரது சாயல் நம் ஒவ்வொருவரிலும் இருக்கின்றது என்பதனை உணர்வதுதான். 

இன்று நம்மிடம் இருக்கும் பண ஆசை, சொத்துக்களை வாங்கிக் குவிக்கவேண்டும் எனும் ஆசை, எல்லோரையும்விடச் சிறந்தவன் எனும் பெயர்பெறவேண்டும் எனும் ஆசை, அப்படிப் பெயர்பெறுவதற்காக நாம் செய்யும் செயல்கள் இவை அனைத்துமே இச்சையின் வெளிப்பாடுதான். 

அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் இந்த இச்சை எனும் குணத்தை நம்மைவிட்டு அகற்றாவிட்டால் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் அப்போஸ்தலரான யாக்கோபு கூறுவதுபோல அந்த  இச்சையானது கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, பாவத்தைப் பிறப்பிக்கும், பாவம் பூரணமாகும்போது, அது நமக்கு ஆத்தும மரணத்தைக் கொண்டுவரும். 

ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை வாழ நம்மைக் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குக் கையளித்து மாம்சஉணர்ச்சிகளை மேற்கொள்ளும்போது மட்டுமே நாம் இச்சையினை மேற்கொள்ளமுடியும். பெயரளவு கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக வெறும் பக்திச் சடங்குகளை மட்டும் கடைபிடித்துக் கொண்டிருப்போமானால்  இச்சையினை மேற்கொள்ள முடியாது. மேலும், இச்சையினை மேற்கொண்டு ஆவிக்குரியவர்களாக நாம் வாழும்போது  நியாயத்தீர்ப்பில் தண்டனைக்குத் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ளமுடியும். "ஆனபடியால், கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குட்பட்டவர்களாயிருந்து, மாம்சத்தின்படி நடவாமல் ஆவியின்படியே நடக்கிறவர்களுக்கு ஆக்கினைத்தீர்ப்பில்லை." ( ரோமர் 8 : 1) 

ஆவியின்படி வாழ நம்மை கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுப்போம்.  தேவனுடைய சத்திய ஆவியாகிய பரிசுத்த ஆவியனானவர் நம்மை தேவனுக்கேற்ற நேரான சீரான வழியில் நடத்துவார்.

                         LUST

"Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." (James 1: 15)

Lust refers to our excessive desire for something. Today's verse explains why the Bible says that lust is a sin. That is, when we lust like this, it prompts us to commit various sins. Thus, when we fall into sin, we attain spiritual death.

That is why God gave this as a commandment in the Ten Commandments. He said, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's." (Exodus 20: 17)

When we read the newspapers today, we could see, lust is the cause of murder, robbery, rape and cheating. But we do not consider lust as a sin, as we consider the consequences of lust as sin. That is why the apostle Paul says, "...for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet." (Romans 7: 7)

When we truly love others we do not covet their possessions. This is what the apostle Paul said, "For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." (Romans 13: 9)

So the only way to overcome lust is to follow Christ's commandment, "Love thy neighbour as thyself”. It is to realize that we are all created by the same God and His image is in each of us.

The desire for money that we have today, the desire to buy and accumulate property, the desire to be known as better than everyone else, and the actions we do to gain such fame are all manifestations of lust.

Beloved, if we do not rid ourselves of this character of lust, as the apostle James says in today's meditation verse, that lust will conceive and give birth to sin, and when the sin is complete, it will bring us soul death.

We can only overcome lust when we give ourselves over to Christ to live a spiritual life. As nominal Christians, if we observe only devotional rituals, we cannot overcome lust. When we live as spiritual beings without lust, we can escape punishment in judgment. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Romans 8: 1)

Let us commit ourselves to Christ to live according to the Spirit. God's Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit, will lead us in a straight and even path to God.

நாம் தொலைந்த ஒரு ரூபாய் நாணயம் / WE ARE LOST ONE RUPEE COIN

"மனந்திரும்ப அவசியமில்லாத தொண்ணூற்றொன்பது நீதிமான்களைக் குறித்துச் சந்தோஷம் உண்டாகிறதைப் பார்க்கிலும் மனந்திரும்புகிற ஒரே பாவியினிமித்தம் பரலோகத்தில் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷம் உண்டாயிருக்கும் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்." ( லுூக்கா 15 : 7 )

தேவனுடைய பார்வைக்கும் மனிதர்களது பார்வைக்குமுள்ள மிகப்பெரிய வித்தியாசத்தை இயேசு கிறிஸ்து இன்றைய வசனத்தில் விளக்குகின்றார். 

நம்மிடம் பர்சில் பத்தாயிரம் ரூபாய் இருக்கின்றது என்று வைத்துக்கொள்வோம். ஆனால் அதேநேரம் நமது சட்டைப்பையிலுள்ள ஒரு ரூபாய் நாணயம் கீழே விழுந்து தொலைந்துபோய்விட்டது என்று வைத்துகொள்வோம். நாம் என்ன செய்வோம்? அதனைத் தேடி அலைவோமா? பெரும்பாலும் அந்த ஒரு ரூபாயை நாம் மனதில் எண்ணவே மாட்டோம். 

ஆனால் தேவன் அப்படியல்ல; அவருக்கு ஏற்கெனவே தன்னிடமுள்ள பத்தாயிரம் ரூபாய்  மகிழ்ச்சியைத் தராது. மாறாக, தொலைந்துபோன அந்த ஒரு ருபாய் நாணயத்துக்காக மனம் வருந்தியவராகவே இருக்கின்றார். தொலைந்த அந்த ஒரு ரூபாய் நாணயம் கிடைத்துவிடும்போது ஏற்கெனவே தன்னிடமுள்ள பத்தாயிரம் பணம் தரும் மகிழ்ச்சியைவிட அதிக மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகின்றார்.  இதுவே தேவ மனநிலை. 

தேவனது இந்த மனநிலையினை நாம் புரிந்துகொள்ள முடிவதில்லை. இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறிய இந்த உவமை அவர் மனிதர்கள்மேல் எவ்வளவு அன்பு வைத்துள்ளார் என்பதனை விளக்குவதாக உள்ளது. 

நாம் ஏற்கெனவே மேலே பார்த்த ஒரு ரூபாய் உதாரணத்தைப்போல தேவன் மனிதர்களுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுப்பதால் அவரது இரண்டாம் வருகை தாமதிக்கின்றது என்கிறார் அப்போஸ்தலரான பேதுரு.  "தாமதிக்கிறார் என்று சிலர் எண்ணுகிறபடி, கர்த்தர் தமது வாக்குத்தத்தத்தைக்குறித்துத் தாமதமாயிராமல்; ஒருவரும் கெட்டுப்போகாமல் எல்லாரும் மனந்திரும்பவேண்டுமென்று விரும்பி, நம்மேல் நீடிய பொறுமையுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறார்." ( 2 பேதுரு 3 : 9 )

உடனேயே அவர் வருவதாக இருந்தால் பலர் பரலோகத்துக்குத் தகுதியில்லாமல் நரக அக்கினிக்குச் செல்லவேண்டியிருக்கும் என்பதால் அவர்கள் மனம்திரும்ப அவகாசம்கொடுத்து தனது வருகையைத் தாமதிக்கின்றார். 

அன்பானவர்களே, இப்படி அன்புள்ள தேவனாக அவர் இருக்கும்போது நாம் அவருக்கு ஏற்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழ எவ்வளவு அக்கறையுள்ளவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும்!!! ஆம், நாம் தான் தேவன் தேடும் அந்த ஒரே பாவி என்ற எண்ணம் நம் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். அப்போதுதான் நாம் இன்னும் அவருக்கு ஏற்புடையவர்களாக வாழவேண்டும் எனும் ஆவல் நம் உள்ளத்தில் உருவாகும். 

நீதிமான்களைப்பற்றி கவலையில்லை. யாரெல்லாம் நீதியுள்ள வாழ்க்கை வாழ்கின்றார்கள் என்றும் நாம் பார்க்கத் தேவையில்லை. பாவிகளாகிய நம்மைக் காணும்போது அவர் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகின்றாரா என்பதுதான் முக்கியம். உடைந்த உள்ளத்தோடு நமது பாவங்களை அவரிடம் அறிக்கையிடுவோம். அப்போது பாவியாகிய நாம், தொலைந்துபோன அந்த ஒரு ரூபாய் நாணயமான நாம் அவருக்கும் முழு பரலோகத்துக்கும்  மகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொடுக்கிறவர்களாக இருப்போம்.

"I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance." (Luke 15: 7)

In today's verse, Jesus Christ explains the great difference between the vision of God and the vision of men.

Suppose we have ten thousand rupees in our purse. But at the same time suppose one rupee coin in our pocket falls down and gets lost. What shall we do? Shall we search for it? Most of the time we don't even think about that one rupee.

But God is not like that; The ten thousand rupees he already has will not make him happy. On the contrary, he is worried for that one-rupee coin that was lost. When the lost one-rupee coin is found, he is happier than the happiness of ten thousand money which he already has. This is the state of God.

We cannot understand this attitude of God. This parable told by Jesus Christ is to explain how much he loves people.

The apostle Peter says that God's second coming is delayed because God gives importance to men, as we have already seen above. "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3: 9)

He is delaying His second coming to give them time to repent because if He were to come immediately many would be unworthy of heaven and go to hellfire.

Beloved, when He is such a loving God, how concerned we should be to live a life worthy of Him!!! Yes, it is necessary for each of us to have the idea that we are the only sinner that God is looking for. Only then will the desire to live more acceptable to Him develop in our hearts.

Don't worry about the righteous. We don't need to see who is living a righteous life. What matters is whether He is pleased to see us sinners. Let us confess our sins to Him with a broken heart. Then we sinners, that lost one-rupee coin, will be a joy to him and to entire heaven.

மனித முயற்சியல்ல... / NOT HUMAN EFFORT

 'ஆதவன்' வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,049              டிசம்பர் 12, 2023 செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை

"கர்த்தர் வீட்டைக் கட்டாராகில், அதைக் கட்டுகிறவர்களின் பிரயாசம் விருதா; கர்த்தர் நகரத்தைக் காவாராகில் காவலாளர் விழித்திருக்கிறது விருதா." ( சங்கீதம் 127 : 1, 2 )

மனித முயற்சி அற்பமானது என்பதை உணர்த்துகின்றது  இன்றைய தியான வசனம். விருதா என்பது வீண் என்பதைக் குறிக்கின்றது. என்னதான் நாம் முயற்சி செய்தாலும் அந்த முயற்சியின் வெற்றி கர்த்தரது கரத்திலேயே இருக்கின்றது. நாம் கண்டிப்பாக உழைக்கவேண்டும். நமது பாதுகாப்புக்காக சில காரியங்களைச் செய்யவேண்டும். ஆனால் அப்படிச் செய்யும்போது கர்த்தரது கிருபையைச் சார்ந்துகொள்ளவேண்டும். இல்லையானால் நமது முயற்சிகள் வீணானவையே. 

ஒரு பயிரை நாம் பயிரிட்டு, நீர் பாய்ச்சிப் பராமரிக்கலாம், ஆனால் அது விளைச்சலைக்  கொடுப்பது தேவனின்  கரத்தில்தான் இருக்கின்றது. உலக காரியங்களிலும், ஆவிக்குரிய காரியங்களிலும் ஊழிய காரியங்களிலும் இதுதான் உண்மை. நாம் எனும் மேன்மைபாராட்டல் தேவையில்லாதது. இதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், "நான் நட்டேன், அப்பொல்லோ நீர்ப்பாய்ச்சினான், தேவனே விளையச்செய்தார்." ( 1 கொரிந்தியர் 3 : 6 ) என்று கூறியுள்ளார். 

இன்றைய வசனத்துக்கு உதாரணமாக இரண்டு சம்பவங்களைக் கூறலாம் என எண்ணுகின்றேன். எனக்குத் தெரிந்த நபர் ஒருவர் மிக வசதியானவர். அவர் புதிதாக வீடு கட்ட அஸ்திபாரம் போட்டார். ஆனால் கைநிறைய பணமிருந்தும் அவரால் கட்டிடப் பணியைத் தொடர முடியாமல் தடைகள் வந்துகொண்டே இருந்தன. குடும்பத்தில் பிரச்சனைகள். பிறகு, வாஸ்து பார்த்தார், ஜோசியம் பார்த்தார், அவர்கள் கூறிய பரிகாரங்களைச் செய்தார். ஆனால் கட்டடம் மட்டும் கட்டி முடிந்தபாடில்லை.

இதுபோல நமது முன்னாள் பிரதமர் திருமதி. இந்திராகாந்தி அவர்களை எடுத்துக்கொள்வோம். சீக்கியர்களால் அவரது உயிருக்கு அபாயமிருந்ததால் நான்கடுக்குப் பாதுகாப்பு அளிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. அவர் எங்கு சென்றாலும் துப்பாக்கியேந்திய கறுப்புப்பூனை படை வீரர்கள்  அவரோடு சென்றனர். ஆனால் அப்படியிருந்தும் உயிருக்குப் பாதுகாப்பில்லாமல்   உடனிருந்த பாதுகாப்பு வீரனே அவரைச் சுட்டுக்கொன்றான். ஆம், கர்த்தர் காவாராகில் எத்தனைக் காவலர்கள் இருந்தாலும் அது வீண்.

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, கர்த்தர் வீட்டைக் கட்டாராகில், அதைக் கட்டுகிறவர்களின் பிரயாசம் விருதா; கர்த்தர் நகரத்தைக் காவாராகில் காவலாளர் விழித்திருக்கிறது விருதா என்பது எப்போதும் நமது நினைவில் இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்விலும் இதுவே உண்மை. நமது சுய முயற்சியால் நாம் ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையை வெற்றியாக வாழ முடியாது. தேவனது கிருபையினைச் சார்ந்து வாழும்போதே நாம் வெற்றிபெற முடியும். 

அதற்காக நாம் சும்மா இருக்கமுடியாது. எல்லாமே கர்த்தர் பார்த்துக்கொள்வார் என்று இருப்பது அறிவீனம். நாம் நமது பங்கு கடமைகளை தேவனுக்கேற்பச் செய்வோமானால் அவரது கிருபையினால் நாம் நமது செயலுக்கு ஏற்ற பலனைப் பெற முடியும்.  நமது சுய பலத்தையோ பொருளாதார வசதிகளையோ வைத்துக்கொண்டு எதனையும் நாம் சாதித்துவிட முடியாது. 

எந்தச் செயலைச் செய்யும்போதும் நமது சுய பலத்தையோ திறமையையோ மட்டும் நம்பாமல், கர்த்தரது கிருபைக்காக வேண்டி செயல்படுவோம். அப்போது கர்த்தர் நமது முயற்சிகளை ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்.

                             NOT HUMAN EFFORT

"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." (Psalms 127: 1)

Today's meditation verse shows that human effort is insignificant or mear vain. Whatever we try, the success of that effort is in the hand of God. We must work hard. We have to do some things for our safety. But in doing so, we must depend on God's grace. Otherwise, our efforts will be in vain.

We can plant, water and tend a crop, but it is in God's hands to produce it. This is true in worldly affairs, spiritual affairs, and ministry affairs. There is no need for self-praise. This is what the apostle Paul said, "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.' (1 Corinthians 3: 6)

I think two incidents can be mentioned as examples of today's verse. One person I know is very rich. He laid the foundation for a new house. But even with a handful of money, he could not continue the construction work and obstacles kept coming. There were problems in the family. Then, he saw Vastu Shastra, invited astrologers and fortune-telling people, and did the remedies they suggested. But the building was never completed.

Similarly, take the example of our former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi. She was provided four-fold protection as her life was in danger from the Sikhs. Wherever she went, armed Black Cat soldiers accompanied her. But even so, the security guard who was there with her shot her dead.

Yes, beloved, except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. The same is true in our spiritual life. We cannot live a successful spiritual life by our own efforts. We can only succeed when we depend on the grace of God.

We cannot be idle for that. It is foolish to think that God will take care of everything. If we do our part according to God's grace, we can get the fruits of our actions. We cannot achieve anything by our own strength or economic means.

While doing any work, we should not only rely on our own strength or ability, but pray for God's grace. Then the Lord will bless our efforts.

நான் செவிடனல்ல / I AM NOT DEAF

 'ஆதவன்' வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,048              டிசம்பர் 11, 2023 திங்கள்கிழமை

".........மீட்கக்கூடாதபடிக்கு என் கரம் குறுகிற்றோ? விடுவிக்கிறதற்கு என்னிடத்தில் பெலனில்லாமற்போயிற்றோ?" ( ஏசாயா 50 : 2 )

மனிதர்கள் பொதுவாக மற்றவர்களைக் குறைகூறுவதையே வாடிக்கையாகக் கொண்டுள்ளனர். பொதுவாக யாரும் ஒரு தவறோ, பிரச்னைகளோ ஏற்படும்போது தன்னிடம் என்ன குறை இருந்தது என்றும் அந்தப் பிரச்சனை ஏற்பட மூலகாரணம் என்ன என்றும் ஆராய்ந்து பார்ப்பதில்லை. மாறாக, பிரச்சனைக்கு மற்றவர்களையே காரணமாகக் கூறுவார்கள். இப்படித் தனது தோல்விக்கும் பிரச்சனைகளுக்கும் நாம்  மற்றவர்களையே குறைகூறிக்கொண்டிருப்போமானால் நாம் அந்தப் பிரச்சனைகளிலிருந்து வெளிவர முடியாது.  

இதுபோலவே மனிதர்கள் பலரும் தேவ காரியங்களிலும் கடவுளை குறைகூறுபவர்களாகவும், அவரைக் குற்றம் சாட்டுபவர்களுமாகவே  இருக்கின்றனர். தங்களது பக்தி முயற்சிகளையும் தங்கள் ஆலயங்களுக்குச் செய்தவற்றையும் நினைத்துத் தங்களைத்   தாங்களே குறையில்லாதவர்களாக  நியாயப்படுத்திக்கொள்கின்றனர்.  "நான் எவ்வளவோ ஜெபிக்கிறேன்; காணிக்கைகள் செலுத்துகிறேன், எத்தனைக் கோவில்களுக்குச் சென்று காணிக்கைகள் செலுத்தியுள்ளேன்......." என்பதுபோல பல எண்ணங்களை மனதில் நினைத்து, தேவன் தனக்கு பதில் செய்யவில்லை என்று குறைகூறுகின்றனர்.   

இத்தகைய மனிதர்களைப் பார்த்துத் தேவன் கேட்கின்றார்,  ".........மீட்கக்கூடாதபடிக்கு என் கரம் குறுகிற்றோ? விடுவிக்கிறதற்கு என்னிடத்தில் பெலனில்லாமற்போயிற்றோ?" என்று.  அதாவது, உனது ஜெபத்துக்குப் பதிலளிக்க என்னால் முடியாது என்று எண்ணுகின்றாயா? என்கின்றார். மட்டுமல்ல, அப்படிக் குறைகூறும் மனிதர்களைப் பார்த்துக் கூறுவதுபோலக் கூறுகின்றார், "இதோ, இரட்சிக்கக்கூடாதபடிக்குக் கர்த்தருடைய கை குறுகிப்போகவுமில்லை; கேட்கக்கூடாதபடிக்கு அவருடைய செவி மந்தமாகவுமில்லை." ( ஏசாயா 59 : 1 ) என்று. அதாவது, நான் உடல் ஊனமானவனோ குருடனோ அல்ல என்கிறார் தேவன். 

ஆம், அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் தேவனைக் குறைகூறுவதைவிட்டு நம்மை ஆராய்ந்து பார்க்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். ஆலயங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பதைவிட, நமது தனிப்பட்ட வாழ்க்கை எப்படி இருக்கின்றது என்பதையே தேவன் பார்க்கின்றார்.  எனவேதான் இப்படித் தேவனைக் குறைகூறும் மனிதர்களைப்பார்த்து தீர்க்கத்தரிசி ஏசாயா மூலம் தேவன் கூறுகின்றார், "உங்கள் அக்கிரமங்களே உங்களுக்கும் உங்கள் தேவனுக்கும் நடுவாகப்பிரிவினை உண்டாக்குகிறது; உங்கள் பாவங்களே அவர் உங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாதபடிக்கு அவருடைய முகத்தை உங்களுக்கு மறைக்கிறது." ( ஏசாயா 59 : 2 ) 

ஆம், எனது கரம் மீட்கக்கூடாதபடிக்கு குறுகிப்போகவுமில்லை விடுவிக்கிறதற்கு என்னிடத்தில் பெலனில்லாமலுமில்லை என்கிறார் பரிசுத்தரான கர்த்தர்.

இரண்டு வீடுகளுக்கு நடுவே ஆளுயர மதில் சுவர் கட்டப்பட்டிருக்குமானால் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்க்க முடியாது. அதுபோல மனிதர்களது பாவங்களும் அக்கிரமங்களும் மதிலாக எழும்பி தேவனுக்கும் மனிதர்களுக்கும்  நடுவாகப்பிரிவினை உண்டாக்குகிறது; மனிதர்களது பாவங்களே அவர் மனிதர்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாதபடிக்கு அவருடைய முகத்தை மறைக்கிறது என்கின்றார் கர்த்தர். 

நமது ஜெபங்களுக்குத் தேவன் பதிலளிக்கத் தாமதமானால்  ஒன்றில் நாம் அவரது சித்தம் நிறைவேறிடக் காத்திருக்கவேண்டும் என்று பொருள்.  இல்லையானால் இன்றைய தியானத்தில் நாம் பார்த்தபடி தேவனுக்கு எதிராக நாம் பாவம் செய்துள்ளோமா, தேவனோடு நமது உறவு எப்படியுள்ளது என்பதனை சீர்தூக்கிப் பார்த்து நம்மைத் திருத்திக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்.  

நமது செயல்பாடுகளும் பாவங்களும் தேவனது முகத்தை நமக்கு மறைக்காதபடி பார்த்துக்கொள்வோம். ஆம், தேவனது கரங்கள் குறுகிப்போகவுமில்லை அவரது செவிகள் மந்தமாகிப்போகவுமில்லை.

"Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver?" (Isaiah 50: 2)

Humans generally have a habit of criticizing others. Generally, when a mistake or problem occurs, no one investigates what was wrong with them and what is the root cause of the problem. Instead, they blame others for the problem. If we blame others for our failures and problems like this, we will not be able to come out of those problems.

In the same way, many people are critics and accusers of God in the affairs of God. They justify themselves as blameless because of their pious efforts and what they have done for their temples. They complain that God does not answer them, thinking many thoughts like "I pray so much; I offer offerings; how many temples I visit and offer offerings...".

Looking at such people, God asks, "Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver?" I mean, you think I can't answer your prayer?  Not only that, but he looks at such complaining men and says, "Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:" (Isaiah 59: 1) That is, I am not physically disabled or blind, says God.

Yes, beloved, we need to stop criticizing God and examine ourselves. Rather than giving to churches, God sees how our personal lives are. That is why God says through the prophet Isaiah, "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." (Isaiah 59: 2)

Yea, my hands are not shortened, that I should not save, neither shall I have strength to deliver, saith the Lord God.

If a partition wall of six feet hight is built between two houses, they cannot see each other. In the same way, the sins and iniquities of men rise up as a wall and create a separation between God and men; The sins of men hide His face so that He cannot listen to men, says the Lord.

God's delay in answering our prayers means that we must wait for His will to be done. If not, as we have seen in today's meditation, have we sinned against God, we should look at our relationship with God and correct ourselves.

Let us make sure that our activities and sins do not hide the face of God from us. Yea, LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear deaf, that it cannot hear:"

ஒப்புரவாகுதல் / RECONCILIATION

 'ஆதவன்' வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,047               டிசம்பர் 10, 2023 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை

"தேவன் உலகத்தாருடைய பாவங்களை எண்ணாமல், கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் அவர்களைத் தமக்கு ஒப்புரவாக்கி, ஒப்புரவாக்குதலின் உபதேசத்தை எங்களிடத்தில் ஒப்புவித்தார்."( 2 கொரிந்தியர் 5 : 19 )

மனிதர்கள் இயல்பிலேயே பாவ நாட்டமுடையவர்கள். காரணம், ஆதிப்பெற்றோரின் பாவ குணம் நாம் அனைவரிடமும் உள்ளது. ஆனால் தேவன் இந்தப் பாவ மனிதர்களை மீட்பதற்காகவே தனது குமாரனை உலகிற்கு அனுப்பினார்.   நமது பாவங்களை அவர் எண்ணினால் நாம் அவரிடம் சேரமுடியாது. நாம் பரிசுத்தமாகவேண்டும், அவரோடு நித்திய காலமாக வாழவேண்டும் என்பதற்காக அவர் பாவ மன்னிப்பு எனும் ஒப்புரவை ஏற்படுத்தினார். 

எனவே, அவருடைய இரத்தத்தால் நாம் பாவங்கள் நீங்கி சுத்திகரிக்கப்படுகின்றோம். இதுதான் கிறிஸ்தவத்தின் அடிப்படை போதனை. இதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், ஒப்புரவாகுதலின் உபதேசம் என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

தேவன் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுலை முதல்முதல் சந்தித்தபோது மக்களிடம் பாவ மன்னிப்பைப் போதிக்கவே கட்டளைக்கொடுத்தார். "அவர்கள் என்னைப் பற்றும் விசுவாசத்தினாலே பாவமன்னிப்பையும், பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்குரிய சுதந்தரத்தையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படியாக, அவர்கள் இருளைவிட்டு ஒளியினிடத்திற்கும், சாத்தானுடைய அதிகாரத்தைவிட்டு தேவனிடத்திற்கும் திரும்பும்படிக்கு நீ அவர்களுடைய கண்களைத் திறக்கும்பொருட்டு, இப்பொழுது உன்னை அவர்களிடத்திற்கு அனுப்புகிறேன் என்றார்." ( அப்போஸ்தலருடைய நடபடிகள் 26 : 18 )

தேவனுடைய கட்டளைப்படி அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் இதனையே முக்கிய போதனையாகப் போதித்து வந்தார். "ஆனபடியினாலே, தேவனானவர் எங்களைக்கொண்டு புத்திசொல்லுகிறதுபோல, நாங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவுக்காக ஸ்தானாபதிகளாயிருந்து, தேவனோடே ஒப்புரவாகுங்கள் (பாவ மன்னிப்பு பெறுங்கள்) என்று, கிறிஸ்துவினிமித்தம் உங்களை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறோம்." ( 2 கொரிந்தியர் 5 : 20 ) என்கின்றார்.  ஸ்தானாபதிகள் (பிரதிநிதிகள்) எனும் வார்த்தை ஆங்கிலத்தில் representative or ambassador (அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்) என்பதைக் குறிக்கும். ஆதாவது நாங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவினால் பாவ மன்னிப்பின் நற்செய்தியினை மக்களுக்குச் சொல்லும்படி அனுப்பப்பட்ட  பிரதிநிதிகள் என்கின்றார். 

ஆனால் இந்த ஒப்புரவின் உபதேசம் இன்று மறைக்கப்பட்டு செழிப்பின் உப(தேசம் அல்லது ஆசீர்வாத உபதேசம் மேலோங்கியுள்ளது. உலக ஆசீர்வாதங்களைக் கொடுப்பதற்கு இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உலகினில் வந்து பாடுபட்டு மரிக்கத் தேவையில்லை எனும் அடிப்படை புரிதல்கூட இல்லாமல் இன்று ஊழியர்கள் பலரும் மக்களை இருளிலே நடமாடவைத்துள்ளனர். 

அன்பானவர்களே, ஒரு மிருகத்தைப்போல அடிபட்டுத் தனது சுய இரத்தத்தால் கிறிஸ்து உருவாக்கிய மீட்பினை மறுதலித்து உலக ஆசீர்வாதங்களுக்காக அவரைத் தேடினால் நிச்சயமாக நாம் ஆசீர்வாதம் பெற முடியாது.  காரணம், ஒரு மிருகத்தைப்போல அவர் நமக்காகக் கொல்லப்பட்டார். ஆசீர்வாத உபதேசம் செய்வதும் உலக ஆசீர்வாதத்துக்காக அவரைத் தேடுவதும் அவரது பரிசுத்த இரத்தத்தை அவமதிக்கும் செயலாகும்.  

"ஏனென்றால், எந்த மிருகங்களுடைய இரத்தம் பாவங்களினிமித்தமாகப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்துக்குள் பிரதான ஆசாரியனாலே கொண்டுவரப்படுகிறதோ, அந்த மிருகங்களின் உடல்கள் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பே சுட்டெரிக்கப்படும். அந்தப்படியே, இயேசுவும் தம்முடைய சொந்த இரத்தத்தினாலே ஜனத்தைப் பரிசுத்தஞ்செய்யும்படியாக நகர வாசலுக்குப் புறம்பே பாடுபட்டார்." ( எபிரெயர் 13 : 11, 12 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம்.

ஒப்புரவின் போதனைத்தான் மெய்யான கிறிஸ்தவ போதனை. அவரைப்போல நிந்தைகளையும் நமது பாவங்களையும் சுமந்து நகர வாசலுக்குப் புறம்பே கொல்லப்பட்ட பலியாடாகிய அவரிடம் செல்லவேண்டியதே நாம் செய்யவேண்டியது. "ஆகையால், நாம் அவருடைய நிந்தையைச் சுமந்து, பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பே அவரிடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப் போகக்கடவோம்." ( எபிரெயர் 13 : 13 ) 

நமது பாவங்களை எண்ணாமல், கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் நம்மைத் தமக்கு ஒப்புரவாக்கி, ஒப்புரவாக்குதலின் உபதேசத்தை ஒப்படைத்த கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு நன்றியுள்ளவர்களாக வாழ்வோம். பாவ மன்னிப்பைப் பெற்று அவரை மகிமைப்படுத்தி வாழ்வோம்.

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." (2 Corinthians 5: 19)

Humans are naturally prone to sin. The reason is that we all have the sinful nature of Adam and Eve. But God sent his Son into the world to redeem us. If he counts our sins, we cannot reach him or stand before him. He made the forgiveness of sins so that we can be holy and live with Him for eternity.

Therefore, we are cleansed from our sins by His blood. This is the basic teaching of Christianity. This is what the apostle Paul calls the word of reconciliation.

When God met the apostle Paul for the first time, he commanded him to preach the forgiveness of sins. "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." (Acts 26: 18)

According to God's command, the apostle Paul used to teach this as the main teaching. "Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God." (2 Corinthians 5: 20) he says. That means we are representatives sent by Christ to tell the people the good news of forgiveness of sins.

But this has been hidden today and the teaching of prosperity or blessing has prevailed. Many Christian pastors and evangelists today have made people walk in darkness without even have the basic understanding that Jesus Christ did not need to come to the world to suffer and die to give worldly blessings.

Beloved, if we reject Christ's redemption made by His own blood, beaten like a beast and killed, and seek Him for worldly blessings, surely, we cannot be blessed. Because he was slain for us like an animal. To preach blessings and seek Him for worldly blessings is an act of dishonor to His holy blood.

"For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate." (Hebrews 13: 11, 12) we read.

The teaching of redemption through the blood of Jesus is the true Christian teaching. All we have to do is to go to him, who was slain outside the city gates, bearing our reproaches and our sins like him. "Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach." (Hebrews 13: 13)

Let us not count our sins, but let us live in gratitude to Christ who has made us conformable to himself in Christ and entrusted us with reconciliation through grace. Let us receive forgiveness of sins and live to glorify Him.

வளர்ச்சி / GROWTH

 'ஆதவன்' வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,046               டிசம்பர் 09, 2023 சனிக்கிழமை

"நீங்கள் கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டபடியே, அவருக்குள் வேர்கொண்டவர்களாகவும், அவர்மேல் கட்டப்பட்டவர்களாகவும், அவருக்குள் நடந்துகொண்டு, நீங்கள் போதிக்கப்பட்டபடியே, விசுவாசத்தில் உறுதிப்பட்டு, ஸ்தோத்திரத்தோடே அதிலே பெருகுவீர்களாக." ( கொலோசெயர் 2 : 6, 7 )

வளர்ச்சியே உயிருள்ளவர் என்பதற்கு அடையாளம். உயிருள்ள அனைத்துமே வளர்கின்றன. ஆனால், கல்,  மண், மரத்தால் செய்யப்பட்ட பொருட்கள் போன்றவை வளர்வதில்லை. இதுபோல கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசித்து ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுதல் நமது முதல் படியாக இருந்தாலும் நாம் அப்படியே ஆவிக்குரிய வளர்ச்சி இல்லாமல் இருப்போமானால் உயிரில்லாத பொருட்கள் போலவே இருப்போம். எனவே நாம் இருந்த நிலையிலேயே இருக்காமல் கிறிஸ்து அனுபவத்தில் வளர்ச்சியடைய வேண்டும் என்கின்றார் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர். 

ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வைக்  கட்டடம் கட்டுவதற்கு  ஒப்பாக இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவும் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுலும் கூறியுள்ளனர். அடித்தளமான (foundation) கிறிஸ்துதான் வேர்.  அந்த வேர் மண்ணில் உறுதியாகப் பற்றிப்பிடிக்கவேண்டும்.  அதன்மேல் நாம் கட்டிடத்தைக்கட்டி எழுப்பவேண்டும் என்கின்றார் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர். கட்டப்படும் வீடுகளை நாம் கவனித்தால் நாளுக்குநாள் அவற்றின் வளர்ச்சியில் வித்தியாசத்தை நாம் பார்க்க முடியும்.

எனவேதான், "நான் சொல்லிய இந்த வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, இவைகளின்படி செய்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவனைக் கன்மலையின்மேல் தன் வீட்டைக் கட்டின புத்தியுள்ள மனுஷனுக்கு ஒப்பிடுவேன்." ( மத்தேயு 7 : 24 ) என்கின்றார் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து. கட்டப்படும் வீடு முக்கியமல்ல, அது எதன்மேல் காட்டப்படுகின்றது என்பதும் அதிக முக்கியமானது. 

கிறிஸ்து அனுபவத்தில் எப்படி நாம் கட்டப்பட்டு எழும்புவது என்பதையும் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் விளக்குகின்றார். அதாவது, "நீங்கள் போதிக்கப்பட்டபடியே, விசுவாசத்தில் உறுதிப்பட்டு, ஸ்தோத்திரத்தோடே அதிலே பெருகுவீர்களாக." என்கின்றார். முதலாவதாக கிறிஸ்துவின்மேலுள்ள விசுவாசத்தில் நாம் உறுதிப்படவேண்டும். இரண்டாவது, "எல்லாவற்றுக்காகவும் ஸ்தோத்திரம் செய்யுங்கள்" என்று  கூறியுள்ளபடி தேவனைத் துதித்து ஆவிக்குரிய வளர்ச்சியைப் பெறவேண்டும். 

"கர்த்தரைத் துதியுங்கள்; நம்முடைய தேவனைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணுகிறது நல்லது, துதித்தலே இன்பமும் ஏற்றதுமாயிருக்கிறது." ( சங்கீதம் 147 : 1 ) என்கிறார் சங்கீத ஆசிரியர்.  துன்பநேரத்திலும் வாழ்வில் எதிர்மறையான காரியங்கள் நடக்கும்போது நாம் தேவனைத் துதிப்பது அவர்மேலுள்ள நமது விசுவாசத்தை நாம் அறிக்கைபண்ணுவதாகவும் உறுதிப்படுத்துவதாகவும்  இருக்கின்றது.  இப்படி நாம் தேவனைத்  துதிப்பது அவர்மேலுள்ள விசுவாசத்தில் நாம் வேர்கொள்ளச்  செய்யும். 

இன்றைய தியானம் முதலில் நாம் ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் தினமும் வளர்பவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும் எனவும்  அதற்கு முதலில் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறியபடி அவரது வார்த்தைகளுக்கேற்ப வாழ்ந்து கண் மலையின்மேல் வீட்டைக் கட்டுபவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்றும்  இறுதியாக நமது விசுவாசத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்றும் கூறுகின்றது. இக்கட்டான சூழ்நிலையிலும் தேவனுக்குத் துதிச்  செலுத்தி நமது விசுவாசத்தை பகிரங்கமாக அறிக்கையிடவேண்டும்.   

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, "பாவ மன்னிப்பின் நிச்சயத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளேன்" என்றும் "இரட்சிக்கப்பட்டேன்" என்றும் கூறிக்கொள்வது பெரிதல்ல கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் நாம் வளர்ச்சியடையவேண்டும். 

சில குழந்தைகளுக்கு எவ்வளவு ஊட்டச்சத்துக் கொடுத்தாலும் அவை உடல்வளர்ச்சி பெறுவதில்லை. சவலைக் குழந்தைகள் என்று அவற்றைக் கூறுவார்கள். கிறிஸ்துவை வாழ்வில் அறிந்து பல ஆண்டுகள் ஆனபின்பும் நாம் ஆவிக்குரிய மேலான அனுபவங்களைப்  பெறவில்லையானால் நாமும்  சவலைக் குழந்தைகள்தான். பரம மருத்துவரான கிறிஸ்துவிடம் மீண்டும் நம்மை ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பதே அதற்குத் தீர்வு.  எனவே,  அவர்மேல் கட்டப்பட்டவர்களாக அவருக்குள் நடந்து நாம்  போதிக்கப்பட்டபடியே, விசுவாசத்தில் உறுதிப்பட்டு, ஸ்தோத்திரத்தோடே அதிலே பெருகுவோமாக.

                        GROWTH 

'AATHAVAN' BIBLE MEDITATION No:- 1,046           December 09, 2023 Saturday

"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." (Colossians 2: 6, 7)

Growth is the sign of being alive. All living things grow. But things like stone, earth, and wood do not grow. In this way, believing and accepting Christ is our first step, but if we are not spiritually developed, we are like inanimate objects. Therefore, the apostle Paul says that we should not remain in the same state and grow in the experience of Christ.

Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul compared the spiritual life to building. The root is Christ, the foundation. The root should be firmly attached to the soil. Apostle Paul says that we must build on it. If we observe houses being built, we can see the difference in their development day by day.

That is why, "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:" (Matthew 7: 24) says Jesus Christ. It is not the house that is built those matters, but what it is displayed on is more important.

The apostle Paul also explains how we are built up in the experience of Christ. That is, “stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." First, we must be firm in our faith in Christ. The second is to grow spiritually by praising God as it says, "Give thanks for everything."

"Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely." (Psalms 147: 1) says the psalmist. In times of suffering and negative things in life, when we praise God, we declare and affirm our faith in Him. Praising God in this way will make us rooted in faith in Him.

Today's meditation tells us that first we should be those who grow daily in spiritual life, then we should be those who live according to the words of Jesus Christ and build the house on the mountain and finally we should confirm our faith. Even in difficult situations, we should praise God and declare our faith publicly.

Yes beloved, it is not enough to say "I have the assurance of forgiveness of sins" and "I am saved" we must grow into Christ.

Some children do not thrive no matter how much nutrition are given. They are like sucking child which grows lean for want of mother’s milk. Even after many years of knowing Christ in our life, if we do not have higher spiritual experiences, we are also like these children. The solution is to rededicate ourselves to Christ, the Great Physician. Therefore, as we are built upon him and walk in him, as we have been taught, let us be established in the faith and abound in it with thanksgiving.

கீழ்ப்படியாமை / DISOBEDIENCE

 ஆதவன்' வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,045              டிசம்பர் 08, 2023 வெள்ளிக்கிழமை

"இதோ, நான் மாம்சமான யாவருக்கும் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்; என்னாலே செய்யக்கூடாத அதிசயமான காரியம் ஒன்றுண்டோ? ஆதலால், இதோ, நான் இந்த நகரத்தைக் கல்தேயரின் கையிலும், பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் கையிலும் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன், அவன் இதைப் பிடிப்பான் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்." ( எரேமியா 32 : 27, 28 )

யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய சிதேக்கியாவின் நாட்களில் பாபிலோன் ராஜா நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் எருசலேமைக் கைப்பற்ற வந்தான். அப்போது எரேமியா தீர்க்கத்தரிசி மூலம் கார்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை வெளிப்பட்டது.  நிச்சயமாக எருசலேம் பிடிபடும் என்று தேவன் கூறினார். 

இன்றைய வசனத்தை நாம் வாசிக்கும்போது, "இதோ, நான் மாம்சமான யாவருக்கும் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்; என்னாலே செய்யக்கூடாத அதிசயமான காரியம் ஒன்றுண்டோ?" என்று தேவன் கேட்கிறார். ஆம் அவரால் எல்லாம் கூடும். தனது மக்களது நகரமான எருசலேமை விடுவிக்க அவரால் கூடும் ஆனால் அப்படி விடுவிக்காமல் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் கையில்  ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன் என்கின்றார். 

இதற்குக் காரணம் என்ன? இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் தேவனது வார்த்தையின்படி வாக்களித்த நாட்டைச் சுதந்தரித்துக் கொண்டார்களேத்  தவிர தேவனது குரலுக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கவில்லை. தங்கள் தவறான பாவ வழியிலேயே நடந்தார்கள். இதனையே நாம்,  "அவர்கள் அதற்குள் பிரவேசித்து, அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக் கொண்டார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் உமது சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடாமலும், உமது நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தில் நடவாமலும், செய்யும்படி நீர் அவர்களுக்குக் கற்பித்ததொன்றையும் செய்யாமலும் போனார்கள்; ஆதலால் இந்தத் தீங்கையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்கு நேரிடப்பண்ணினீர்.' ( எரேமியா 32 : 23 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் நம்மை கிறிஸ்துவால் இரட்சிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் என்று கூறிக்கொண்டு அவருக்கு விரோதமான வாழ்கையினைத் தொடருவோமானால் தேவன் நம்மை இதுபோல கைவிட்டுவிடுவார். நம்பிக்கைத்தரும் விடுதலையின் வசனங்களை நாம் கூறிக்கூறி ஜெபிக்கலாம். ஆனால் அவர் கூறுவார், "நீ ஜெபிப்பதுபோல என்னாலே செய்யக்கூடாத அதிசயமான காரியம் ஒன்றுமில்லை ...ஆனால் உன்னை நான் விடுவிக்கமாட்டேன்." 

"கல்தேயரின் கையிலும், பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் கையிலும் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன், அவன் இதைப் பிடிப்பான்" என்று கர்த்தர் கூறிய வார்த்தைகள் தேவனால் கைவிடப்பட்ட நிலையினை எடுத்துக்கூறுகின்றது. 

ஒரு அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து இன்னொரு அடிமைத்தனத்துக்கு அவர்கள் கடந்து சென்றார்கள். எகிப்தின் அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை ஆனது மகிழ்ச்சியே ஆனாலும் அந்த மகிழ்சியில் நிலைத்திருக்க முடியாமல் பாபிலோனிற்கு அடிமையானார்கள். நமக்கு இது ஒரு எச்சரிக்கையாக இருக்கவேண்டும்.  

உலக இச்சைகளுக்கும், பாவ நாட்டங்களுக்கும் இடம்தராமல் அவரில் நிலைத்திருக்கும்போது,  "இதோ, நான் மாம்சமான யாவருக்கும் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்; என்னாலே செய்யக்கூடாத அதிசயமான காரியம் ஒன்றுண்டோ?" எனும் வார்த்தையின்படி அதிசயமான காரியங்களை நமது வாழ்வில் செய்வார்.  

அப்படி நாம் வாழாது போனால், "கல்தேயரின் கையிலும், பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் கையிலும் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன், அவன் இதைப் பிடிப்பான் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்." என்றபடி நம்மை கேட்டிற்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்துவிடுவார். 

"ஆகையால் ஆதிமுதல் நீங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டது உங்களில் நிலைத்திருக்கக்கடவது; ஆதிமுதல் நீங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டது உங்களில் நிலைத்திருந்தால், நீங்களும் குமாரனிலும் பிதாவிலும் நிலைத்திருப்பீர்கள்." ( 1 யோவான்  2 : 24 ) என்கிறார் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து.

                  DISOBEDIENCE 

'AATHAVAN' BIBLE MEDITATION No:- 1,045                                 Friday, December 08, 2023

"Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? Therefore, thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:" (Jeremiah 32: 27, 28)

During the days of Zedekiah, king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came to conquer Jerusalem. Then the word of God was revealed through the prophet Jeremiah. God said that surely Jerusalem would be captured.

As we read today's verse, "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for me?" God asks. Yes, he can do everything. He said that he would be able to free the city of his people, Jerusalem, but he would not deliver it from the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon.

What is the reason for this? The people of Israel did not listen to the voice of God even though they inherited the promised land according to God's word. They walked in their wrong sinful ways. This is what we read, "And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore, thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:" (Jeremiah 32: 23)

Beloved, if we claim to be saved by Christ and continue to live contrary to Him, God will abandon us like this. We can recite and pray the verses of faith and deliverance. But He will say, "There is nothing miraculous that I can do as you pray...but I will not deliver you."

The Lord's words, "I will give into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and he shall take it," indicate the state of abandonment by God.

They passed from one slavery to another. Yes. Freedom from slavery in Egypt was a joy, but they could not remain in that joy and became slaves to Babylon. This should be a warning to us.

When he abides in him without giving place to worldly lusts and sinful inclinations, as he said "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” He will do miraculous things in our lives according to the Word.

If we don't live like that, "I will deliver it into the hand of the Chaldeans and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will take it," says the Lord. He will hand us over to destruction.

"Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father." (1 John 2: 24) says the Lord Jesus Christ.
