🦋 Meditation verse - மாற்கு 12 : 17 / Mark 12:17

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1946

2026 ஜூன் 06, சனி  

"இராயனுடையதை இராயனுக்கும், தேவனுடையதை தேவனுக்கும் செலுத்துங்கள்." ( மாற்கு 12 : 17 )

இந்த உலகத்தில் மற்றவர்களுக்கு மரியாதை செலுத்தும் விதத்தில் வேறுபாடுகள் உள்ளன. ஒரு போலீஸ் காவலர் அவரது உயரதிகாரிக்கு வணக்கம் செலுத்துவது, மாணவன் ஆசிரியருக்கு வணக்கம் செலுத்துவது, ஒரு அலுவலகத்தில் மேலதிகாரிக்கு பணியாளர்கள் வணக்கம் செலுத்துவது, நம்மைவிட மேலானவர்களை நாம் சந்திக்கும்போது அவர்களுக்கு வணக்கம் செலுத்துவது இவைகள் ஒவ்வொன்றும் வேறுபட்ட முறையில் இருக்கும். உதாரணமாக,  நமது உறவினர்களை வரவேற்கும்போது போலீஸ் காவலர் தனது மேலதிகாரிக்கு வணக்கம் செலுத்துவதுபோல  வணக்கம் செலுத்தி நாம் வரவேற்பதில்லை.

இந்த உலகத்தில் அவரவர்களுக்குச்  செலுத்த வேண்டிய மரியாதையினை நாம் செலுத்த கவனமாக இருக்கின்றோம். இதனையே, "இராயனுடையதை இராயனுக்கும், தேவனுடையதை தேவனுக்கும் செலுத்துங்கள்" என்கின்றார் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து. அதாவது, ஆளுவோருக்கு அளிக்கவேண்டிய மரியாதையை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுங்கள்; தேவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டிய கனத்தையும், மரியாதையையும், வணக்கத்தையும் தேவனுக்குக் கொடுங்கள் என்கின்றார் இயேசு. 

அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுலும், "ஆகையால் யாவருக்கும் செலுத்தவேண்டிய கடமைகளைச் செலுத்துங்கள்; எவனுக்கு வரியைச் செலுத்தவேண்டியதோ அவனுக்கு வரியையும், எவனுக்குத் தீர்வையைச் செலுத்தவேண்டியதோ அவனுக்குத் தீர்வையையும் செலுத்துங்கள்; எவனுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டியதோ அவனுக்குப் பயப்படுங்கள்; எவனைக் கனம்பண்ணவேண்டியதோ அவனைக் கனம்பண்ணுங்கள்." ( ரோமர் 13 : 7 ) என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

நாம் யாருக்கு எந்த அளவு மரியாதையும் வணக்கத்தையும் கடமைகளையும் செய்யவேண்டுமோ அந்த அளவு செய்தால் போதும். ஆனால் இன்று உலகத்தில் பல கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் அரசியல் தலைவர்களுக்குத் தேவனுக்குக் கொடுப்பதுபோல மகிமை கொடுக்கின்றனர். கடந்த தேர்தலின்போது இதனை நாம் வெளிப்டையாகப் பார்க்கமுடிந்தது. 

இதுபோல, இளைஞர்கள் திரைப்பட நடிகர்களது படங்களுக்கு கடவுளுக்குக் கொடுப்பதுபோல மரியாதை செலுத்துகின்றனர். தங்களுக்குப் பிடித்த நடிகன் நடித்தத் திரைப்படம் வெளிவரும்போது கடவுளுக்குச் செலுத்துவதுபோல நடிகனின் படத்துக்கு மகிமையைச் செலுத்துகின்றனர். 

இப்படி தேவனுக்குச் செலுத்த வேண்டிய மரியாதையை மற்றவர்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பது பாவமான காரியமாகும். தேவன் ஒருவரே மகிமைக்கும் கனத்துக்கும் சொந்தக்காரர். 

ஏலியின் புதல்வர்கள் கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்தவேண்டிய கனத்தைச் செலுத்தாமல் கர்த்தருக்கான பலிப்பொருட்களை தாங்களே முதல்முதலில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டனர். இப்படி கர்த்தருக்கான மகிமையினைச் செலுத்தாமல் போயினர். அப்போது கர்த்தர் கூறியது:- "ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறதாவது: உன் வீட்டாரும் உன் பிதாவின் வீட்டாரும் என்றைக்கும் என் சந்நிதியில் நடந்து கொள்வார்கள் என்று நான் நிச்சயமாய்ச் சொல்லியிருந்தும், இனி அது எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; என்னைக் கனம்பண்ணுகிறவர்களை நான் கனம் பண்ணுவேன்; என்னை அசட்டை பண்ணுகிறவர்கள் கனவீனப்படுவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்" ( 1 சாமுவேல் 2 : 30 )

நம்மை நாமே நிதானித்துப்பார்ப்போம். இந்த உலக வாழ்க்கையில் தேவனுடையதை இராயனுக்குச் செலுத்திக்கொண்டிருப்போமானால் நம்மைப்பார்த்துக் கர்த்தர் எச்சரித்துக் கூறுகின்றார், "என்னைக் கனம்பண்ணுகிறவர்களை நான் கனம் பண்ணுவேன்; என்னை அசட்டை பண்ணுகிறவர்கள் கனவீனப்படுவார்கள்." ஆம், நமது உடலாலும் பொருளாலும் தேவனுக்குச் செலுத்தவேண்டிய மகிமையை தேவனுக்குச் செலுத்துவோம்; மற்றவர்களுக்கு செலுத்தவேண்டிய அளவுக்கு மட்டும் மகிமையினைச் செலுத்துவோம்.

"AATHAVAN" Meditation - 1946

"Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s." (Mark 12:17)

In this world, there are differences in the ways we show respect to others. A police officer saluting their superior, a student greeting a teacher, employees showing respect to a manager in an office, or how we greet those who are greater than us when we meet them—each of these happens in a different manner. For example, when welcoming our relatives, we do not welcome them by saluting the way a police officer salutes their superior officer.

We are careful to give everyone in this world the respect they are due. It is this very concept that Jesus Christ speaks of when He says, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s." That is, Jesus is saying: give the rulers the respect due to them, and give God the honour, respect, and worship due to God.

The Apostle Paul also says:

"Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour." (Romans 13:7)

It is enough if we offer respect, honour, and duty to whoever deserves it, strictly to that required measure. But today, many Christians in the world give political leaders the kind of glory that should only be given to God. We were able to see this clearly during the recent elections.

Similarly, young people show respect to the images of movie actors as if they were giving it to God. When a movie starring their favourite actor is released, they attribute glory to the actor's picture just like one would offer to God.

Giving others the respect that belongs to God in this manner is a sinful thing. God alone owns glory and honour.

The sons of Eli did not give the Lord the honour due to Him; instead, they took the sacrificial offerings meant for the Lord for themselves first. Thus, they failed to give the Lord His glory. At that time, the Lord said:

"Therefore, the Lord God of Israel declares, 'I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father should walk before Me forever'; but now the Lord declares, 'Far be it from Me—for those who honour Me I will honour, and those who despise Me will be lightly esteemed.'" (1 Samuel 2:30)

Let us examine ourselves. If we are giving God's things to Caesar in this worldly life, the Lord looks at us and warns us: "For those who honour Me I will honour, and those who despise Me will be lightly esteemed." Yes, let us give God the glory due to God with our bodies and our possessions; and let us give glory to others only to the measure they are due.

🦋 Meditation verse - 2 கொரிந்தியர் 10 : 12 / 2 Corinthians 10:12

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1945        
2026 ஜூன் 05, வெள்ளி         

"ஆகிலும் தங்களைத்தாங்களே மெச்சிக்கொள்ளுகிற சிலருக்கு நாங்கள் எங்களைச் சரியாக்கவும் ஒப்பிடவும் துணியமாட்டோம்; தங்களைக்கொண்டு தங்களை அளந்துகொண்டு, தங்களுக்கே தங்களை ஒப்பிட்டுக்கொள்ளுகிற அவர்கள் புத்திமான்களல்ல." ( 2 கொரிந்தியர் 10 : 12 )

மற்றவர்களோடு தங்களை ஒப்பீடு செய்து வாழ்வது உலக வாழ்விலும் ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்விலும் ஏற்புடைய ஒன்றல்ல. ஆனால் பலரும் தங்களது குழந்தைகளுக்கு சிறு வயதிலேயே இந்த வேண்டாத பழக்கத்தை பயிற்றுவித்துவிடுகின்றனர். உதாரணமாக,  மற்ற மாணவ மாணவிகளைவிட தனது குழந்தை படிப்பிலோ, விளையாட்டிலோ பின்தங்கிவிட்டால், "அவனைப்பார், அவன் எத்தனை அதிகம் மதிப்பெண் பெற்றுள்ளான்!! நீ கல்லூரி பேராசிரியரின் மகன், அவனோ சாதாரண கொத்தனாரின் மகன். அவனைவிட உனக்கு நாங்கள் நல்ல  உணவு, உடைகள் கொடுக்கின்றோம்; அடுத்த தேர்வில் நீ அவனைவிட அதிக மதிப்பெண் பெறவேண்டும்" என்கின்றனர்.  

சிறு வயதிலேயே மனதில் புகுத்தப்படும் இத்தகைய எண்ணங்கள் பிற்காலத்தில் இந்தக் குழந்தைகள் கெட்டுபோவதற்குக் காரணமாக இருப்பதை அவர்கள் உணர்வதில்லை. ஆதியில் லூசிபர் இப்படியே தேவனுக்கு நிகராகத் தன்னை ஒப்பிட்டு இருதயத்தில் பெருமைகொண்டான்; அதனால் வீழ்ச்சியும் அடைந்தான். "நான் மேகங்களுக்கு மேலாக உன்னதங்களில் ஏறுவேன்; உன்னதமானவருக்கு ஒப்பாவேன் என்றும் நீ உன் இருதயத்தில் சொன்னாயே. ஆனாலும் நீ அகாதமான பாதாளத்திலே தள்ளுண்டுபோனாய்." ( ஏசாயா 14 : 14,15 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம்.

நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்விலும் இத்தகைய எண்ணம் நமக்கு வீழ்ச்சியையே கொடுக்கும். ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் இப்படித்  தன்னைக்கொண்டு தன்னை அளந்துகொண்டு, தனக்கே தன்னை ஒப்பிட்டுக்கொள்ளும் ஒரு மனிதனைக்குறித்து ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உவமையாகக் கூறினார்.   

ஆம், ஆயக்காரனும் பரிசேயனும் ஜெபித்த முறை இதனை வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றது. "பரிசேயன் நின்று: தேவனே! நான் பறிகாரர், அநியாயக்காரர், விபச்சாரக்காரர் ஆகிய மற்ற மனுஷரைப்போலவும், இந்த ஆயக்காரனைப்போலவும் இராததனால் உம்மை ஸ்தோத்தரிக்கிறேன். வாரத்தில் இரண்டுதரம் உபவாசிக்கிறேன்; என் சம்பாத்தியத்திலெல்லாம் தசமபாகம் செலுத்தி வருகிறேன் என்று, தனக்குள்ளே ஜெபம்பண்ணினான்." ( லுூக்கா 18 : 11,12 ) அதாவது, அவன் ஆயக்காரனுடன் தன்னை ஒப்பிட்டுத்  தனது பெருமையினை எண்ணி தன்னைத்தானே மேலானவனாகக் கருதிக்கொண்டான். இத்தகைய மனிதர்கள் புத்திமான்களல்ல என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. 

இத்தகைய மனிதர்களை இன்றும்  நாம் நமது ஊர்களில் பார்க்கலாம். இவர்கள் தங்களது பக்தி முயற்சிகளையும், ஆவிக்குரிய செயல்பாடுகளையும் பெருமையாக எடுத்துக் கூறிக்கொண்டிருப்பார்கள். மட்டுமல்ல, இவர்களைப்போல செயல்படாத மற்றவர்களைக் குறையும் கூறிக்கொண்டிருப்பார்கள். 

ஒருமுறை ஒருவரிடம் நான் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தபோது அவர் என்னிடம் கூறியது எனக்கு வேடிக்கையாகவும் வேதனையாகவும் இருந்தது. அவர் கூறினார், "ஒருவிதத்தில் நான் தாவீது இராஜாவைவிட மேலானவன்தான். நான் எனது மனைவியைத்தவிர வேறு எந்தப் பெண்ணையும் நோக்கிப்பார்த்ததில்லை" என்றார் அவர். மனிதர்களது ஒப்பிடுதல் எவ்வளவு மோசமான இருக்கின்றது என்று பாருங்கள்!! "தாவீதை என் இருதயத்துக்கு ஏற்றவனாகக் கண்டேன்" என்று தேவனே சாட்சிகொடுத்தார். இன்று அவரோடு தன்னை ஒப்பிட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கும் இவர் அதுபோல தேவனது இருதயத்துக்கு ஏற்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழ்கின்றாரா?

இப்படிப்பட்ட இழிவான செயலை நாங்கள் செய்யமாட்டோம் என்கின்றார் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர். இதனையே, ஆகிலும் தங்களைத்தாங்களே மெச்சிக்கொள்ளுகிற சிலருக்கு நாங்கள் எங்களைச் சரியாக்கவும் ஒப்பிடவும் துணியமாட்டோம் என்று அவர் கூறுகின்றார். 

ஓட்டப்பந்தயத்தில் ஓடும் ஒருவன் வெற்றிக்குறியை நோக்கி ஓடவேண்டுமே தவிர தனக்கு வலது புறமும் இடதுபுறமும் ஓடும் சக வீரர்களைப் பார்த்துப்பார்த்து ஓடக்கூடாது. அப்படி ஓடும் ஒருவன் வெற்றிபெறவும் முடியாது.  ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வும் ஒரு ஓட்டப்பந்தயம்தான். அதில் நமது இலக்கு ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து. அவரை நோக்கியே நமது ஓட்டம் இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம்.   

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, உலக வாழ்க்கையிலும் ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையிலும் மற்றவர்களுடன் நம்மை ஒப்பிடும் மோசமான குணத்தை விட்டு கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு ஏற்ற ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வு வாழ அவரது உதவியை நாடி ஜெபிப்போம்.

"AATHAVAN" Meditation – 1945

"For we do not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding." — 2 Corinthians 10:12

Comparing oneself with others is acceptable neither in worldly life nor in spiritual life. Yet, many people train their children in this unwanted habit from a very young age. For instance, if their child lags behind other students in studies or sports, they say, "Look at him, how many more marks he has secured! You are a college professor’s son, whereas he is a ordinary mason’s son. We give you better food and clothing than him; you must get higher marks than him in the next exam."

They fail to realize that such thoughts, instilled in the mind at a young age, become the reason for these children going astray later in life. In the beginning, Lucifer similarly compared himself to God, harboured pride in his heart, and consequently fell. We read:

"‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ Nevertheless, you will be thrust down to Sheol, to the recesses of the pit." — Isaiah 14:14-15

In our spiritual life as well, such a mindset will only lead to our downfall. The Lord Jesus Christ told a parable about a man who, in his spiritual life, measured himself by himself and compared himself with himself in this manner.

Indeed, the way the Pharisee and the tax collector prayed reveals this.

"The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’" — Luke 18:11-12

That is to say, he compared himself with the tax collector, dwelled on his own pride, and considered himself superior. Today's meditation verse states that such people are without understanding.

We can still see such individuals in our towns today. They will boastfully recount their acts of piety and spiritual activities. Not only that, but they will also constantly find fault with others who do not do the same as them.

Once, while I was talking to someone, what he said to me was both amusing and painful. He said, "In a way, I am better than King David. I have never looked at any woman other than my wife." Look at how terrible human comparison can be! God Himself bore witness saying, "I have found David... a man after My heart." Does this person, who is comparing himself to David today, live a life that is pleasing to God's heart like that?

The Apostle Paul says that we will not commit such a base act. This is precisely why he says, "For we do not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves."

A person running in a race must run looking toward the goal; they should not keep looking at the fellow runners to their right or left as they run. A person who runs like that can never win. Spiritual life is also a race. In it, our goal is the Lord Jesus Christ. It is essential that our run is directed toward Him.

Yes, dearly beloved, let us abandon this terrible trait of comparing ourselves with others in both worldly and spiritual life. Let us pray seeking His help to live a spiritual life that is pleasing to Christ.

🦋 Meditation verse - யோவான் 5 : 44 / John 5:44

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1944

2026 ஜூன் 04, வியாழன்        

"தேவனாலேமாத்திரம் வருகிற மகிமையைத் தேடாமல், ஒருவராலொருவர் மகிமையை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிற நீங்கள் எப்படி விசுவாசிப்பீர்கள்?" ( யோவான் 5 : 44 )

மகிமை செலுத்துதல் என்பதற்கு  மதிப்பளிப்பது அல்லது கவுரவப்படுத்துதல்  என்று பொருள் கொள்ளலாம். அரசர்களை குடிமக்கள் மகிமைக்குரியவர்கள் என்று கருதுவதுண்டு.  அதுபோல, அரசர்களும் தங்களது நாட்டில் சாதனை புரிந்தவர்களை கவுரவப்படுத்துவதுண்டு. பொதுவாக மக்கள் பலரும் இப்படி மற்றவர்களால் மதிப்பளிக்கப்படுவதை விரும்புகின்றனர்.  இதற்கு உண்மையான காரணம் அவர்களது பெருமை.  மெய்யான மகிமைக்கு தேவன் மாத்திரமே சொந்தக்காரர். நாம் அவரை மகிமைப்படுத்தினால் அவர் நம்மை மகிமைப்படுத்துவார். 

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் தன்னை விசுவாசிக்காத யூதர்களைப்பார்த்து இயேசு கிறிஸ்துக்  கூறுவதாகும். பெதஸ்தா குளக்கரையில் 38 ஆண்டுகள் படுக்கையில் கிடந்த மனிதனை இயேசு கிறிஸ்து குணமாக்கியதை யூதர்கள் விரும்பவில்லை. காரணம், இயேசு கிறிஸ்து இந்த அற்புதத்தை ஓய்வுநாளில் செய்ததுதான்.  எனவே யூதர்கள் அவரை விசுவாசிக்கவும் இல்லை. இதனால் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து அவர்களைப்பார்த்து  "தேவனாலேமாத்திரம் வருகிற மகிமையைத் தேடாமல், ஒருவராலொருவர் மகிமையை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிற நீங்கள் எப்படி விசுவாசிப்பீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்கின்றார். 

இயேசு கிறிஸ்துக்  கேட்கும் இந்தக் கேள்விக்குரிய உள்ளார்ந்த பொருள், ஓய்வுநாளை நீங்கள் கடைப்பிடிக்கின்றீர்கள் என்பதனை மற்றவர்கள் அறிந்து உங்களைக் கனப்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்று நீங்கள் நினைக்கின்றீர்கள்; இப்படி மற்றவர்களிடம் மதிப்பு பெறவேண்டும் என்று எண்ணும் நீங்கள் எப்படி நான் செய்ததை விசுவாசிக்கமுடியும்? என்பதுதான். ஆம்,   தேவனை நாம் அறிந்து அவரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டுமானால் முதலில் நாம் நமது சுய பெருமையினை விடவேண்டியது அவசியம். எல்லோரும் என்னை மதிக்கவேண்டும் என்று நாம் பெருமைகொண்டு மனிதர்களது மதிப்பினைத்தேடி ஓடிக்கொண்டிருப்போமானால் தேவனை வாழ்வில் அறியமுடியாது. 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, தேவனே நம்மை உயர்த்தவேண்டும்; அவரே நம்மை மகிமைப்படுத்தவேண்டும். நமது பதவியோ, பணமோ, அதிகாரமோ நம்மை மகிமைப்படுத்தும் என்று எண்ணி ஓடிக்கொண்டிருப்போமானால் நாம் தேவனை அறியமுடியாது. பல திருச்சபைகளில் மேலான பதவிகளை வகித்து திருச்சபையை வழிநடத்தும் தலைவர்கள் தங்களை அறியாமல் இந்தப் பெருமைக்குள் அகப்பட்டுக்கொள்கின்றனர். அதாவது, அவர்கள் தேவனால் வரும் மகிமையைவிட தங்களது பதவியைப்பார்த்து மனிதர்கள் தங்களை மதிக்கவேண்டும் என எண்ணுகின்றனர். எனவே அவர்களால் தேவனை வாழ்வில் அறிய முடிவதில்லை. 

பெருமையை விட்டு, தன்னைத்தான் தாழ்த்துகின்றவன் உயர்த்தப்படுவான் எனும் இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகளுக்கேற்ப நம்மைத் தாழ்த்தும்போது மட்டுமே நாம் தேவனை அறிந்து வாழ்வில் உயர்த்தப்படமுடியும். ஆம், "கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகத் தாழ்மைப்படுங்கள், அப்பொழுது அவர் உங்களை உயர்த்துவார்." ( யாக்கோபு 4 : 10 )

ஒருவேளை இப்படி மனிதர்களுக்குமுன் நம்மை நீதிமான்கள்போலக்  காட்டி மனிதர்கள்முன் நாம் மேன்மையடையலாம் ஆனால் இப்படி மகிமையைத் தேடுவதை  தேவன் அருவருகின்றார். இதனையே நாம் "அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் மனுஷர்முன்பாக உங்களை நீதிமான்களாகக் காட்டுகிறீர்கள், தேவனோ உங்கள் இருதயங்களை அறிந்திருக்கிறார்; மனுஷருக்குள்ளே மேன்மையாக எண்ணப்படுகிறது தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக அருவருப்பாயிருக்கிறது." ( லுூக்கா 16 : 15 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

சுய மகிமையை நாடாமல், தேவன் நம்மை உயர்த்தும்படி அவரது கரங்களுக்குள் அடங்கியிருக்காவே வேதம்  நமக்கு அறிவுறுத்துகின்றது. "ஆகையால், ஏற்றகாலத்திலே தேவன் உங்களை உயர்த்தும்படிக்கு, அவருடைய பலத்த கைக்குள் அடங்கியிருங்கள்." "How can you believe, when you accept glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?" — John 5:44

To glorify someone can be understood as honouring or showing respect to them. Citizens often regard kings as glorious figures. Similarly, kings honour those who achieve great things in their nation. Generally, many people desire to be honoured by others in this manner. The true reason behind this is their pride. God alone is the rightful owner of true glory. If we glorify Him, He will honour us.

Today’s meditation verse is spoken by Jesus Christ to the Jews who did not believe in Him. The Jews did not like that Jesus healed a man who had been bedridden for 38 years by the Pool of Bethesda. The reason was that Jesus performed this miracle on the Sabbath. Therefore, the Jews did not believe in Him. Because of this, Jesus looked at them and asked:

"How can you believe, when you accept glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?" (John 5:44)

The deeper meaning behind this question asked by Jesus Christ is this: "You want others to know that you keep the Sabbath so that they will honour you. When you are so focused on gaining respect from others, how can you believe in what I have done?" Yes, if we are to know God and accept Him, it is essential that we first lay down our self-pride. If we are prideful, running after human recognition and demanding that everyone respect us, we cannot truly know God in our lives.

Yes, dearly beloved, it is God who must lift us up; He is the one who must honour us. If we run around thinking that our position, money, or authority will bring us glory, we will never know God. Many leaders who hold high positions and guide churches unknowingly fall into this trap of pride. That is to say, rather than seeking the glory that comes from God, they desire people to respect them because of their status. Consequently, they are unable to truly know God in their lives.

We can only know God and be lifted up in life when we humble ourselves, in accordance with the words of Jesus that whoever humbles himself will be exalted. Yes, Scripture says:

"Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you." (James 4:10)

Perhaps we can present ourselves as righteous before men and gain prominence in their eyes, but God detests such seeking of glory. We read about this here:

"And He said to them, 'You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.'" (Luke 16:15)

Instead of seeking self-glory, the Bible instructs us to remain submissive under God's hand so that He may lift us up.

"Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time." (1 Peter 5:6)

Rather than running eagerly to gain glory from others—only to become detestable before God—let us patiently wait for Him to honour us.

🦋 Meditation verse - உன்னதப்பாட்டு 2 : 14 / Song of Solomon 2:14

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1943

"கன்மலையின் வெடிப்புகளிலும் சிகரங்களின் மறைவிடங்களிலும் தங்குகிற என் புறாவே! உன் முகரூபத்தை எனக்குக் காண்பி, உன் சத்தத்தை நான் கேட்கட்டும்; உன் சத்தம் இன்பமும், உன் முகரூபம் அழகுமாயிருக்கிறது." ( உன்னதப்பாட்டு 2 : 14 )

பலருடைய வாழ்க்கை இந்த உலகத்து மக்களுடன் ஒப்பிடும்போது அற்பமானதாகவே இருக்கின்றது. எனவே இந்தச் சமூகத்தின் பல்வேறு அவமானங்களும் புறக்கணிப்புகளும் அவர்களைத்  தாழ்வுமனப்பான்மைக்கு இட்டுச்செல்கின்றது. இவர்கள்தான் சமூகத்துக்குத் தங்களை வெளிகாட்டமுடியாமல் ஒதுங்கி வாழும் புறாக்கள் போன்றவர்கள்.

இன்று பல இளைஞர்களும் இளம் பெண்களும் இப்படி ஒதுங்கி வாழும் புறாக்களைப்போல இருக்கின்றனர். படித்த படிப்புக்கேற்ற வேலையில்லாததால் மற்றவர்களைப்போல் இவர்களால் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் வாழ முடிவதில்லை. தங்களுடன் படித்த மற்றவர்கள் நல்ல வேலை வாய்ப்புகளுடன் வருமானம் அதிகமாகப் பெற்று வாழும்போது அவர்களோடு வாழ்ந்து, விளையாடி, படித்துப் பட்டமும் பெற்றபின்னர்  அவர்களைப்போன்ற வாழ்க்கை அமையவில்லை இவர்களுக்கு. 

இதுபோலவே, திருமணம் செய்துகொண்டு வாழும் பல தம்பதிகளும் இருக்கின்றனர். பொருளாதாரத்தில் நலிவு, கணவன்மார்களின் போதைப்பழக்கம் போன்றவை  இவர்கள் மற்றவர்களோடு நெருங்கி வாழ்வதைத் தடுக்கின்றது. காரணம், நமது சமுதாயம் பணத்தின் அடிப்படையிலும், அந்தஸ்து மற்றும்  செல்வாக்கின் அடிப்படையிலும் மக்களை எடைபோட்டு மதிப்பளிப்பதாக இருக்கின்றது. 

இதனால் இத்தகைய அவமானத்துக்குளாகும் மனிதர்கள்  பலரும் கன்மலையின் வெடிப்புகளிலும் சிகரங்களின் மறைவிடங்களிலும் தங்குகிற புறாக்களைப்போல ஒதுங்கி வீட்டுக்குள்ளேயே இருக்கின்றனர். ஆனால் தேவன் மனம் நொறுங்கி அவமானத்துடன் வாழும் இவர்களைப்பார்த்து, "என் புறாவே! உன் முகரூபத்தை எனக்குக் காண்பி, உன் சத்தத்தை நான் கேட்கட்டும்; உன் சத்தம் இன்பமும், உன் முகரூபம் அழகுமாயிருக்கிறது" என்கின்றார். 

மற்றவர்களுக்கு ஒருவேளை இத்தகைய இளைஞர்களும் இளம்பெண்களும், நலிவுற்ற குடும்பத்தாரும் அற்பனானவர்களாகத் தெரியலாம். ஆனால் தேவனுக்கு இவர்கள்தான் அருமையானவர்கள். அவர் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டு வாழும் மக்களைப் புறக்கணிப்பதில்லை.  எனவேதான் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் அவர் அழைக்கின்றார், என் மகனே, மகளே மற்றவர்கள் உன்னை அவமதிப்பது குறித்துக் கவலைப்படாதே, உன் முகத்தை எனக்கு நேராகத் திருப்பு. என்னை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடு. உன் சத்தத்தை நான் கேட்கட்டும்; உன் சத்தம் இன்பமும், உன் முகரூபம் அழகுமாயிருக்கிறது என்கின்றார். 

ஆம், அவமானத்தால் வெளி உலகோடு சமமாகப் பழக்கமுடியாமல் வீட்டுக்குள் அடைந்துகிடந்து அடுப்படியில் வாழும் வாழ்க்கை வாழும் இத்தகைய மக்களைப்பார்த்து தேவன் கூறுகின்றார், "நீங்கள் அடுப்பினடியில் கிடந்தவர்களாயிருந்தாலும், வெள்ளியால் அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்ட புறாச்சிறகுகள் போலவும், பசும்பொன் நிறமாகிய அதின் இறகுகளின் சாயலாகவும் இருப்பீர்கள்." ( சங்கீதம் 68 : 13 )

சோர்ந்துபோய் வாழும் வாழ்க்கை நமக்கு வேண்டாம். தேவன் அழைக்கும் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுப்போம். நமது முகத்தை அவருக்கு நேராகத் திரும்புவோம். ஆம், "உன் முகரூபத்தை எனக்குக் காண்பி, உன் சத்தத்தை நான் கேட்கட்டும்; உன் சத்தம் இன்பமும், உன் முகரூபம் அழகுமாயிருக்கிறது" என இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுவது நமக்கு நம்பிக்கைத் தரும் வாக்காக அமையட்டும். இந்த வசனம் நாம் அவரை நோக்கிப்பார்த்து ஜெபிக்க நம்மை அழைக்கின்றது. 

அவரை நோக்கிப்பார்த்து நமது ஜெப சத்தத்தை எழுப்புவோம். அவருக்கு நமது முகம் அழகாகவும் நமது சத்தம் இன்பமாகவும் இருக்கும். அப்போது நமது சிறையிருப்பு வாழ்க்கையினை அவர் மாற்றுவார்.  "இதைச் செய்கிற கர்த்தருமாய், இதைத் திடப்படுத்தும்படிக்கு இதை உருவேற்படுத்துகிற கர்த்தருமாயிருக்கிற யேகோவா என்னும் நாமமுள்ளவர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: என்னை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடு, அப்பொழுது நான் உனக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுத்து, நீ அறியாததும் உனக்கு எட்டாததுமான பெரிய காரியங்களை உனக்கு அறிவிப்பேன்." ( எரேமியா 33 : 2, 3 ) ஆம், நாம் நினைத்துபார்த்திராத அளவுக்கு நம்மை அவர் உயர்த்திட வல்லவராகவே இருக்கின்றார்.

"AATHAVAN" Meditation – 1943

"O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret place of the steep pathway, let me see your form, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your form is lovely." (Song of Solomon 2:14)

Compared to the people of this world, the lives of many seem insignificant. Consequently, various societal humiliations and rejections lead them into an inferiority complex. These are the people who live like secluded doves, unable to show themselves to society.

Today, many young men and women are like these hidden doves. Because they lack employment that matches their education, they are unable to live happily like others. While those who studied alongside them enjoy good career opportunities and high incomes, these individuals—having lived, played, studied, and graduated with them—fail to achieve a similar standard of life.

Similarly, there are many married couples facing the same plight. Financial distress, spousal substance abuse, and similar struggles prevent them from mingling closely with others. This happens because our society evaluates and values people based on money, status, and influence.

As a result, many who experience such humiliation remain withdrawn inside their homes, just like doves dwelling in the clefts of the rock and the secret places of the steep pathways. But God looks at these broken-hearted and humiliated individuals and says: "O my dove... let me see your form, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your form is lovely."

To others, these young men, young women, and struggling families may appear insignificant. But to God, they are precious. He does not reject those who live oppressed. That is why He calls out in today's meditation verse: "My son, My daughter, do not worry about others humiliating you. Turn your face toward Me. Call out to Me. Let Me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your form is lovely."

Yes, looking at those who, out of shame, cannot socialize equally with the outside world and remain shut inside their homes—living a life confined to the kitchen—God says:

"When you lie down among the sheepfolds, you are like the wings of a dove covered with silver, and its pinions with glistening gold." (Psalm 68:13)

We do not need a life lived in weariness. Let us listen to the voice of God calling us. Let us turn our faces toward Him. Yes, let today's meditation verse, "Let me see your form, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your form is lovely," be a word of hope for us. This verse invites us to look to Him and pray.

Let us look to Him and lift up our voice of prayer. To Him, our face is lovely and our voice is sweet. Then, He will change our life of captivity.

"Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it, the Lord is His name: ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’" (Jeremiah 33:2, 3)

Yes, He is powerful enough to exalt us far beyond anything we could ever imagine.

🦋 Meditation verse - 1 இராஜாக்கள் 17 : 9 / 1 Kings 17:9

"ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1942

2026 ஜூன் 02, செவ்வாய்      

"நீ எழுந்து, சீதோனுக்கடுத்த சாறிபாத் ஊருக்குப்போய், அங்கே தங்கியிரு; உன்னைப் பராமரிக்கும்படி அங்கே இருக்கிற ஒரு விதவைக்கு கட்டளையிட்டேன்." ( 1 இராஜாக்கள் 17 : 9 )

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் எலியாவுக்குத் தேவன் கூறியதாக இருந்தாலும் இன்று நமக்கும் பொருந்தும். ஆம், தேவனுக்கு ஏற்புடையவர்களாக வாழும் மக்களுக்கு எலியாவுக்கு ஏற்பட்டது போன்ற அனுபவங்கள் ஏற்படுவது தவிர்க்கமுடியாதது. எலியா வானத்திலிருந்து அக்கினியை வரவழைத்து அற்புதம் செய்தவர். மழை பெய்யாதபடிக்கு வானத்தை அடைக்கவும் மீண்டும் மழை பெய்யும்படித் திறக்கவும் செய்தவர். ஆனால் அவர் நம்மைப்போல பாடுள்ள மனிதனாகவே இருந்தார்.   

"எலியா என்பவன் நம்மைப்போலப் பாடுள்ள மனுஷனாயிருந்தும், மழைபெய்யாதபடிக்குக் கருத்தாய் ஜெபம்பண்ணினான், அப்பொழுது மூன்று வருஷமும் ஆறு மாதமும் பூமியின்மேல் மழை பெய்யவில்லை." ( யாக்கோபு 5 : 17 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

எலியா தேவனோடு சஞ்சரித்தவர். ஆனாலும் துன்பங்கள் அவரை விட்டு முற்றிலும் விலகிடவில்லை. இதுபோலவே,  கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் வாழும் நமக்கும், நாம் எவ்வளவு நெருக்கமாக தேவனோடு வாழ்ந்தாலும்  எலியாவுக்குச் சம்பவித்தவைபோல இன்றும் சிலவேளைகளில் சம்பவிக்கும். எனவேதான் நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து, "உலகத்தில் உங்களுக்கு உபத்திரவம் உண்டு" என்று கூறினார்.

ஆனால் எலியாவின் வாழ்க்கையிலிருந்து நமக்குச் சில ஆவிக்குரிய சத்தியங்களைத் தேவன் உணர்த்துகின்றார்.  துன்பங்கள் நம்மை நெருக்கும்போது தேவன் எலியாவுக்குச்,  "சாறிபாத் ஊருக்குப்போய், அங்கே தங்கியிரு" என்று கட்டளையிட்டதுபோல நமக்கும் கட்டளையிடுகின்றார். ஆம், நாம் சாறிபாத்துக்குச் செல்லவேண்டியது அவசியம். அதாவது, தேவனோடு தனித்து ஒதுங்கி வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம். இதுதான் நமது சாறிபாத். இப்படித் தேவனோடு தனித்து ஜெபத்தில் இருப்பதால் உடனேயே பெரிய செழிப்பு நமக்கு வந்துவிடாது. ஆனால் தேவன் நம்மோடு இருப்பதை அவர் உறுதிசெய்வார்.

மட்டுமல்ல, சாறிபாத் இஸ்ரவேல் நாட்டில் இல்லை. மெய்யான தேவனை அறியாத மக்கள் வாழ்ந்த இடம்தான் சாறிபாத். துன்ப வேளையில் எலியாவை தேவன் அங்கு அனுப்பித் தனது வல்லமையினை அங்கிருந்த மக்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்த  எலியாவைப் பயன்படுத்தினார். இதனை இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவும், "அன்றியும் எலியாவின் நாட்களிலே மூன்று வருஷமும் ஆறுமாதமும் வானம் அடைபட்டு, தேசமெங்கும் மிகுந்த பஞ்சம் உண்டாயிருந்தபோது, இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள் அநேகம் விதவைகள் இருந்தார்கள். ஆயினும் எலியா சீதோன் நாட்டிலுள்ள சரெப்தா ஊரிலிருந்த ஒரு விதவையினிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டானேயல்லாமல் மற்றொருத்தியினிடத்திற்கும் அனுப்பப்படவில்லை." ( லுூக்கா 4 : 25, 26 ) என்று குறிப்பிடுகின்றார்.

ஆம், தேவனால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள் அனுப்பப்படாமல் எலியா பிற இனத்தவர் வாழ்ந்த சாறிபாத்துக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டார். இது, கடவுளின் இரக்கம் என்பதையும், அவரது மீட்புத் திட்டத்தில் பிற இனத்தவரும் (புற இனத்தவர்) உள்ளடக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர் என்பதையும் வலியுறுத்திக் காட்டுகிறது.

எனவே, நமது  நெருக்கடியான நேரத்தில் தேவனை அறியாத மக்களுக்கு நம்மைக்கொண்டு தேவன் நற்செய்தியை அறிவிக்க முயலுகின்றார் என்றும் நாம் உணர்ந்துகொள்ளலாம். எலியாவுக்கு உதவிட ஏற்கெனவே ஒரு விதவையைத் தேவன்  ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்ததைப்போல நமக்கும் நமது சாறிபாத் அனுபவத்தில் உதவிட விதவைபோல மக்கள் உண்டு. நம்மூலம் அவர்களும் பயன்பெறுவார்கள். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நமது துன்பமயமான சாறிபாத் அனுபவத்தில் நாம் கைவிடப்பட்டு விடுவதில்லை. எலியாவுக்கு உடனிருந்து தேவன் உதவியதுபோல அந்த நெருக்கடியான வேளையில்  நம்மோடு கூட இருந்து உதவும் ஒருவர் உண்டு. அவர் நம்மோடு கூடவே இருக்கின்றார்.  நமது அற்பமான உடலில் நமக்குள்ளே அவர் இருந்து செயலாற்றுகின்றார். ஆம், "இந்த மகத்துவமுள்ள வல்லமை எங்களால் உண்டாயிராமல், தேவனால் உண்டாகியிருக்கிறதென்று விளங்கும்படி, இந்தப் பொக்கிஷத்தை மண்பாண்டங்களில் பெற்றிருக்கிறோம்." ( 2 கொரிந்தியர் 4 : 7 )

எனவே, எலியா மூலம் விதவைக்கு அற்புதமாக மாவும் எண்ணையும் பஞ்சகாலத்தில் பெருக்கச் செய்ததுபோல நமது  துன்ப வேளையின் நெருக்கடிகளுக்கு மத்தியில் நாம் வாழ்ந்தாலும் நம்மால் தேவனை அறியாத மக்களுக்கு உதவி செய்து தேவனை அறிவிக்க முடியும். அதற்கு முதலில் நாம் நமது துன்பங்களையும் பிரச்சனைகளையும் எண்ணி எண்ணி வருந்திடாமல் புறப்பட்டுச் சாறிபாத்துக்குப் போகவேண்டியது அவசியம். 

அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் இந்த அனுபவத்துடன்தான் நற்செய்தியை அறிவிக்கச் சென்றார். எனவேதான் அவர் தைரியமாகக் கூறுகின்றார், "நாங்கள் எப்பக்கத்திலும் நெருக்கப்பட்டும் ஒடுங்கிப் போகிறதில்லை; கலக்கமடைந்தும் மனமுறிவடைகிறதில்லை;  துன்பப்படுத்தப்பட்டும் கைவிடப்படுகிறதில்லை; கீழே தள்ளப்பட்டும் மடிந்துபோகிறதில்லை." ( 2 கொரிந்தியர் 4 : 8, 9 ) இதுதான் சாறிபாத் அனுபவம். 

தேவன் தம்மை அறிந்த பிள்ளைகள் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் பார்த்துக் கூறுகின்றார், "நீ எழுந்து, சீதோனுக்கடுத்த சாறிபாத் ஊருக்குப்போய், அங்கே தங்கியிரு; உன்னைப் பராமரிக்கும்படி அங்கே இருக்கிற ஒரு விதவைக்கு கட்டளையிட்டேன்" ஆம், நமது மக்களுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, மற்றவர்களுக்கும் நற்செய்தி அறிவிக்க நமது துன்பங்களைச் சுமந்து சாறிபாத்துக்குச் செல்வோம்.

"Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there; behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you." — 1 Kings 17:9

Although today’s meditation verse was spoken by God to Elijah, it applies to us today as well. Yes, for people who live in a way that is acceptable to God, experiencing seasons like Elijah did is inevitable. Elijah was a man who brought down fire from heaven and performed miracles. He was the one who shut the heavens so it would not rain, and opened them again so it would rain. Yet, he was a human being with a nature just like ours.

We read in James 5:17:

"Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months."

Elijah walked with God. Yet, troubles did not entirely depart from him. Similarly, for those of us who live in Christ, no matter how closely we walk with God, things like what happened to Elijah will sometimes happen to us today. That is why our Lord Jesus Christ said, "In the world you have tribulation."

However, God reveals certain spiritual truths to us through Elijah’s life. When troubles press against us, just as God commanded Elijah, "Go to Zarephath, and stay there," He commands us too. Yes, it is necessary for us to go to Zarephath. In other words, it is essential to withdraw and live in solitude with God. This is our Zarephath. Being alone with God in prayer like this may not immediately bring us great material prosperity, but God will reassure us of His presence with us.

Furthermore, Zarephath was not in the land of Israel. Zarephath was a place where people lived who did not know the true God. In a time of distress, God sent Elijah there and used him to make His power known to the people living there. Jesus Christ references this in Luke 4:25–26:

"But I say to you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land; and yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow."

Yes, instead of being sent to the chosen people of Israel, Elijah was sent to Zarephath, where Gentiles lived. This emphasizes God's mercy and highlights that Gentiles (nations outside of Israel) are also included in His plan of redemption.

Therefore, we can understand that during our times of crisis, God is seeking to use us to proclaim the Good News to people who do not know Him. Just as God had already appointed a widow to help Elijah, there are people—like that widow—who will help us in our Zarephath experience. Through us, they too will be blessed.

Yes, dear ones, we are not abandoned in our painful Zarephath experiences. Just as God stood by Elijah and helped him, there is One who stays with us and helps us in that pressing hour. He is right there with us. He dwells within our frail bodies and works through us. Yes, as it says in 2 Corinthians 4:7:

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves."

Therefore, just as the flour and oil were miraculously multiplied through Elijah for the widow during the famine, even if we live amidst the pressures of our times of suffering, we can help people who do not know God and make Him known to them. To do that, we must first stop brooding over our sufferings and problems, pack up, and go to Zarephath.

It was with this exact perspective that the Apostle Paul went out to preach the gospel. That is why he boldly declares in 2 Corinthians 4:8–9:

"We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed."

This is the Zarephath experience.

God looks at each of His children who know Him and says: "Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there; behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you." Yes, let us carry our afflictions and go to Zarephath, not only for our own people, but to proclaim the Good News to others as well.

🦋 Meditation verse - கலாத்தியர் 5 : 16 / Galatians 5:16

 "ஆதவன்" தியானம் - 1941

"பின்னும் நான் சொல்லுகிறதென்னவென்றால், ஆவிக்கேற்றபடி நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள், அப்பொழுது மாம்ச இச்சையை நிறைவேற்றாதிருப்பீர்கள்." ( கலாத்தியர் 5 : 16 )

இந்த உலகத்தில் நாம் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு அறிவுரைகள் கூறும்போது, "அப்பா, அம்மா சொல்கேட்டு நல்ல பிள்ளைகளாக வாழவேண்டும்" என்று கூறுவதுண்டு. காரணம், அப்படி நாம் நடக்கும்போது பல்வேறு துன்பங்களுக்கு நீங்கலாகிவிடுவோம். இதுபோலவே ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் நம்மைத் தாய்தகப்பனாக இருந்து வழிநடத்துவது பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர்தான். 

இதனால்தான் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், "ஆவிக்கேற்றபடி நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள், அப்பொழுது மாம்ச இச்சையை நிறைவேற்றாதிருப்பீர்கள்" என்று கூறுகின்றார். நம்மைத் தேவனிடமிருந்து பிரிப்பவை நமது உடல்சார்ந்த சில பாவச் செயல்பாடுகள்தான். நாம் ஆவியானவரின் சொல்கேட்டு நடப்போமென்றால் இத்தகைய பாவச் செயல்களில் ஈடுபடமாட்டோம். 

இப்படி நம்மைச் சத்திய வழியில் நடத்தவே ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து நமக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரை வாக்களித்தார். "சத்திய ஆவியாகிய அவர் வரும்போது, சகல சத்தியத்திற்குள்ளும் உங்களை நடத்துவார்; அவர் தம்முடைய சுயமாய்ப் பேசாமல், தாம் கேள்விப்பட்டவைகள் யாவையுஞ்சொல்லி, வரப்போகிற காரியங்களை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பார்" ( யோவான் 16 : 13 ) என்றுதானே  இயேசு கிறிஸ்து வாக்களித்தார்?. 

இப்படி நாம் தேவன் தரும் ஆவிக்கேற்றபடி நடந்துகொள்ளும்போது மாம்ச இச்சையை நிறைவேற்றாமலிருப்போம். அப்போது நமக்கு தேவனின் தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்பும் இல்லாமல் இருக்கும். ஆம், "ஆனபடியால், கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குட்பட்டவர்களாயிருந்து, மாம்சத்தின்படி நடவாமல் ஆவியின்படியே நடக்கிறவர்களுக்கு ஆக்கினைத்தீர்ப்பில்லை." ( ரோமர் 8 : 1 )

இன்று உலகத்தில் பல்வேறு பாவ காரியங்கள் நடைபெறுவதற்குக் காரணம் வழிநடத்தும் ஆள் ஒருவர் இல்லாமல் இருப்பதுதான். இளைஞர்களை வழிநடத்தத் திரைப்பட நடிகர்களும் நடிகைகளும், முதியோர்களை வழிநடத்த வெற்று போதனைகள் கூறும் உலக ஞானிகளும் மூன்றாம்தர அரசியல்வாதிகளும் தான்  இருக்கின்றனர்.  மேலும், அறிவுரைகூறும் பலரும் தாங்கள் கூறும் அறிவுரைகளுக்கு அவர்களே முன்மாதிரியாக இருப்பதுமில்லை. 

ஆனால் தேவன் நமக்குத் தந்துள்ள நம்மை வழிநடத்தும் அவரது குமாரனாகிய பிரதான ஆசாரியரான இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பரிசுத்த ஆவியினால் நிறைந்தவராக நமக்கு முன்னுதாரண வாழ்க்கையினை விட்டுச்சென்றுள்ளார். அவர் போதிக்கமட்டும் செய்யவில்லை போதனையை வாழ்ந்து காட்டினார். ஆம்,  "நம்முடைய பலவீனங்களைக்குறித்துப் பரிதபிக்கக்கூடாத பிரதான ஆசாரியர் நமக்கிராமல், எல்லாவிதத்திலும் நம்மைப்போல் சோதிக்கப்பட்டும், பாவமில்லாதவராயிருக்கிற பிரதான ஆசாரியரே நமக்கிருக்கிறார்." ( எபிரெயர் 4 : 15 )

இந்தப் பிரதான ஆசாரியரான இயேசு கிறிஸ்து காட்டும் ஆவிக்கேற்றபடி நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள், அப்பொழுது மாம்ச இச்சையை நிறைவேற்றாதிருப்பீர்கள் என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது. 

நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடம் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினை தந்தருளுமாறு வேண்டுவோம். அவரே பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் நிறைவு. அவரது முன்மாதிரியைப் பின்பற்றுவோம். அப்போது நாம் மாம்ச இச்சையை நிறைவேற்றாதிருப்போம்.

"But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh." — Galatians 5:16

When we give advice to children in this world, we often say, "Listen to your father and mother and live as good children." We say this because when they conduct themselves that way, they will be spared from various troubles. In the same manner, it is the Holy Spirit who acts as our parent in our spiritual life, guiding and leading us.

This is exactly why the Apostle Paul says, "walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh." The things that separate us from God are certain sinful actions driven by our fleshly desires. If we listen to the voice of the Spirit and walk accordingly, we will not engage in such sinful actions.

It was specifically to lead us in this path of truth that the Lord Jesus Christ promised us the Holy Spirit. Did not Jesus Christ promise:

"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come." — John 16:13

When we walk according to the Spirit that God gives us, we will not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Consequently, we will be free from God's condemnation. Yes, as Scripture says:

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." — Romans 8:1 (Note: Your Tamil text includes the traditional phrase "who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit," which reflects the context carried into verse 4 in modern NASB text).

The reason so many sinful things happen in the world today is the absence of a proper guide. To guide the youth, there are film actors and actresses; to guide the elderly, there are worldly sages who preach empty philosophies, alongside third-rate politicians. Furthermore, many who offer advice do not live as examples of the very advice they give.

But the High Priest given to us by God to guide us—His Son, Jesus Christ—was filled with the Holy Spirit and left behind an exemplary life for us to follow. He did not merely preach; He lived out His teachings. Yes, the Scripture reminds us:

"For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin." — Hebrews 4:15

Today's meditation verse calls us to walk according to the Spirit shown by this High Priest, Jesus Christ, so that we will not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Let us pray to our Lord Jesus Christ to grant us the Holy Spirit. He is the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Let us follow His example. By doing so, we will not carry out the desires of the flesh.
