Meditation Verse - 1 பேதுரு 1:17 / 1 Peter 1:17

 வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,439

'ஆதவன்' 💚ஜனவரி 16, 2025. 💚வியாழக்கிழமை

"அன்றியும், பட்சபாதமில்லாமல் அவனவனுடைய கிரியைகளின்படி நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவரை நீங்கள் பிதாவாகத் தொழுதுகொண்டுவருகிறபடியால், இங்கே பரதேசிகளாய்ச் சஞ்சரிக்குமளவும் பயத்துடனே நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்." (1 பேதுரு 1:17)

தான் வசிக்கும் இடத்தின் சொந்தக்  குடியுரிமை இல்லாதவரைக் குறிக்கும் வார்த்தைதான் பரதேசி என்பது;  அல்லது இந்த வார்த்தை அந்நிய பூமியில் பயணித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒருவரைக்  குறிக்கின்றது. வேதாகம அல்லது ஆன்மீக அடிப்படையில், இது ஒரு யாத்திரிகர் அல்லது உலகத்தில் அந்நியர் என்று ஒருவரைக் குறிக்கின்றது.  உலகத்தில் நாம் வசித்தாலும் இது நமது சொந்தக் குடியிருப்பு அல்ல. நமது குடியிருப்போ பரலோகத்தில் உள்ளது என்றே வேதம் குறிப்பிடுகின்றது. எனவே இந்த உலகத்தில் வாழும் நாம் அனைவருமே பரதேசிகள்தான்.

"நம்முடைய குடியிருப்போ பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிறது, அங்கேயிருந்து கர்த்தராயிருக்கிற இயேசுகிறிஸ்து என்னும் இரட்சகர் வர எதிர்பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம்." ( பிலிப்பியர் 3: 20) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்து இந்த பூமியில் பரதேசியாக வாழும்  நம்மைத் தன்னோடு சேர்த்துக்கொள்வார். 

அவர் நம்மைத் தன்னோடு  சேர்த்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டுமானால் நாம் அவருக்கு ஏற்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழ வேண்டியது அவசியம். அவர் நமது செயல்களின்படி நம்மை நியாயம்தீர்த்து நாம் அவருக்கு ஏற்புடையவர்கள் எனக் கண்டுகொண்டால் தன்னோடு சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு பரதேசிகளான நம்மை தனது பரலோக குடியிருப்பில் உரிமைக் குடிமகன்களாக / குடிமகள்களாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்வார். எனவே, இந்த உலகத்தில் பரதேசிகளாய்ச் சஞ்சரிக்குமளவும் பயத்துடனே நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள் என்று அறிவுறுத்துகின்றது  இன்றைய தியான வசனம்.  

ஆனால் நம்மில் பலரும் இதனை எண்ணிப்பார்ப்பதில்லை. இந்த உலகமே நமது நிரந்தர குடியிருப்பு என எண்ணி உலகச் செல்வங்களைச் சேர்ப்பதில்  ஆர்வம் காட்டுகின்றோம். எனவேதான் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறினார், "பூமியிலே உங்களுக்குப் பொக்கிஷங்களைச் சேர்த்து வைக்கவேண்டாம்; இங்கே பூச்சியும் துருவும் அவைகளைக் கெடுக்கும்; இங்கே திருடரும் கன்னமிட்டுத் திருடுவார்கள். பரலோகத்திலே உங்களுக்கு பொக்கிஷங்களைச் சேர்த்து வையுங்கள்; அங்கே பூச்சியாவது துருவாவது கெடுக்கிறதும் இல்லை; அங்கே திருடர் கன்னமிட்டுத் திருடுகிறதும் இல்லை." (மத்தேயு 6: 19, 20)

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, அவனவனுடைய கிரியைகளின்படி நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவரை நாம்  பிதாவாகத் தொழுதுகொள்வது உண்மையானால் நாம் இந்த உணர்வுள்ளவர்களாக வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம்.   இப்படிச் சொல்வதால் நாம் உலகச் செல்வங்களைச் சேர்ப்பது தவறு என்றோ பாவம் என்றோ கூறவில்லை. மாறாக, இவற்றைச் சேர்ப்பதில் நாம்  காட்டும் ஆர்வத்தைவிட தேவனுக்கு ஏற்ற காரியங்களில் நாம் முன்னுரிமை காட்டுபவர்களாக வாழவேண்டும்.  

நாம் செய்யும் ஒவ்வொரு செயலும் பயத்துடனே செய்யப்படுவதாக  இருக்கவேண்டும். அதாவது, நாம் எந்தச் செயலைச் செய்யும்போதும் "நான் செய்யும் இந்தச் செயல் தேவனுக்கு ஏற்புடையதாக இருக்குமா? அவர் இதனை விரும்புவாரா?" எனும் எண்ணம் நமக்குள் எழவேண்டியது அவசியம். அப்படி நடப்பதுதான் பயத்துடன் நடந்துகொள்வது. ஆம், அவனவனுடைய கிரியைகளின்படி நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவரை நாம் நமது பிதாவாகத் தொழுதுகொண்டு வருகிறபடியால், பூமியில் பரதேசிகளாய் வாழும் நாள்வரைக்கும் இந்தப் பயத்துடனே நடந்துகொள்வோம். அப்போது பரதேசிகளான நமக்கு மறுவுலக குடியுரிமை கிடைப்பது நிச்சயமாகும்.

Scripture Meditation – No. 1,439

AATHAVAN, January 16, 2025, Thursday

"And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear." (1 Peter 1:17)

The term "sojourner" refers to someone without permanent citizenship in their place of residence; it denotes a person journeying through a foreign land. Biblically or spiritually, it signifies a pilgrim or stranger in the world. Although we live in this world, it is not our permanent home; the Bible indicates that our true citizenship is in heaven. Therefore, all of us living in this world are indeed sojourners.

As stated in Philippians 3:20, "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ."

Our Lord Jesus Christ will come from heaven to gather us, who live as sojourners on this earth, to be with Him.

To be gathered with Him, it is essential that we lead lives worthy of Him. If He judges us according to our deeds and finds us acceptable, He will take us to be with Him, accepting us—sojourners—as rightful citizens in His heavenly abode. Therefore, today's meditation verse advises us to "pass the time of your sojourning here in fear."

However, many of us do not contemplate this. We tend to consider this world as our permanent residence and show enthusiasm in accumulating earthly wealth. That is why Jesus Christ said:

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal." (Matthew 6:19–20)

Dearly beloved, if we truly call upon the Father who judges impartially according to each one's work, it is imperative that we live with this awareness. This does not mean that accumulating earthly wealth is wrong or sinful; rather, we should prioritize deeds pleasing to God over our eagerness to gather worldly possessions.

Every action we take should be done with reverence, always considering, "Is this deed acceptable to God? Will He be pleased with it?" Acting with such mindfulness is what it means to "pass the time of your sojourning here in fear."

Yes, since we call upon the Father who judges each one's work impartially, let us live with this reverent fear throughout our sojourn on earth. Then, we sojourners will surely attain citizenship in the world to come.

Meditation Verse - கலாத்தியர் 4: 10, 11 / Galatians 4:10-11

'ஆதவன்' 💚ஜனவரி 15, 2025. 💚புதன்கிழமை

"நாட்களையும், மாதங்களையும், காலங்களையும், வருஷங்களையும் பார்க்கிறீர்களே. நான் உங்களுக்காகப் பிரயாசப்பட்டது வீணாய்ப்போயிற்றோ என்று உங்களைக்குறித்துப் பயந்திருக்கிறேன்." (கலாத்தியர் 4: 10,11) 

கிறிஸ்தவர்கள்  என்று நம்மைக் கூறிக்கொள்ளவேண்டுமானால் நாம் தேவன்மேல்  நூறுசதம் விசுவாசம் கொண்டவர்களாக வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம். அப்படி ஒரு விசுவாச வாழ்க்கை வாழும்போது நாம் அவரைத்தவிர  வேறு எதற்கும் முன்னுரிமை கொடுக்கமாட்டோம்  எதனையும் அவரைவிடப் பெரிதாக  எண்ண மாட்டோம். 

ஆனால் இன்று தங்களைக் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் என்று கூறிக்கொண்டாலும் பலரும்  புறமத கலாச்சாரங்களையும் அவர்களது நம்பிக்கைகளையும் முன்னிலைப்படுத்தி தேவனை அவமதிக்கின்றவர்களாக இருக்கின்றனர். அதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் இங்கு "நாட்களையும், மாதங்களையும், காலங்களையும், வருஷங்களையும் பார்க்கிறீர்களே". என்று குறிப்பிடுகின்றார். பல கிறிஸ்தவ  குடும்பங்களில் நல்ல காரியங்கள் ஏற்பாடுசெய்யும்போது தேவ சித்தத்துக்கு முன்னுரிமை கொடுப்பதைவிட  நல்லநாள், நல்ல நேரம், நல்ல மாதம் இவற்றுக்கே முன்னுரிமை கொடுப்பது அவர்களது விசுவாசக் குறைவையும்  கிறிஸ்துவை அவமதிப்பதையுமே காட்டுகின்றது.. 

எவ்வளவோ மேலான விசுவாச சாட்சிகள் வேதத்தில் உண்டு. நமது வாழ்க்கையிலும் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து செய்த மகத்தான காரியங்கள் பல உண்டு.  ஆனால் வாழ்வில் அப்படி கிறிஸ்துமூலம் நன்மைகளைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டதாக  அவற்றிக்குறித்து சாட்சிகூறும் பல கிறிஸ்தவர்களும்கூட நல்ல நேரம், மாதம், காலம் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர்.   இதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல்  இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில்  "நான் உங்களுக்காகப் பிரயாசப்பட்டது வீணாய்ப்போயிற்றோ என்று உங்களைக்குறித்துப் பயந்திருக்கிறேன்." என்று குறிப்பிடுகின்றார். ஆம் இப்படி நாள் நட்சத்திரம் பார்ப்பது நமக்குரிய கிறிஸ்தவ விசுவாசத்தை வீணாக்கிவிட்டோம் என்பதனையே காட்டுகின்றது. 

மட்டுமல்ல, இப்படி நல்லநாள், நல்ல நேரம் பார்த்துத் திருமணம் செய்த பலரது திருமணங்கள் விவாகரத்தில் முடிவதை நாம் பலவேளைகளில் பார்க்கமுடிகிறது. இதுவே இவை தேவையற்ற மூடநம்பிக்கைகள் என்பதற்கு அத்தாட்சி. 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, காலங்களையும் நேரங்களையும் பார்ப்பதைவிட காலத்தையும் நேரத்தையும்  கையில்கொண்டு அவற்றைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தும் ஆற்றலுள்ளவரையே நாம் நோக்கிப்பார்க்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். இதனை உணர்ந்திருந்த சங்கீத ஆசிரியர், "என் காலங்கள் உமது கரத்திலிருக்கிறது; என் சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கும் என்னைத் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறவர்களின் கைக்கும் என்னைத் தப்புவியும்." ( சங்கீதம் 31 : 15 ) என்கின்றார். நமது காலங்கள் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடம் உள்ளன. அவரே நம்மைத் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறவர்களின் கைக்கும் பிரச்சனைகளுக்கும் தப்புவிக்க வல்லவர். 

நாம் தேவனை அறிந்தவர்களாக வாழ்வோமானால் அவரது காலங்களையும், நியமங்களையும் அவர் நமக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தித் தருவார். காலங்களை அவர் அறியாதவரல்ல; அவரை வாழ்வில் அறிந்தவர்கள் அவர் நியமித்துள்ள நாட்களையும் அறிந்துகொள்வார்கள்.  "சர்வவல்லவருக்குக் காலங்கள் மறைக்கப்படாதிருக்க, அவரை அறிந்தவர்கள் அவர் நியமித்த நாட்களை அறியாதிருக்கிறதென்ன?" ( யோபு 24 : 1 ) என்று  வேதம் கூறுகின்றது. நேரங்களையும் நாட்களையும், மாதங்களையும், காலங்களையும், வருஷங்களையும் பார்க்கிறதை விட்டு அவற்றைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தும் ஆற்றலுள்ளவரையே நோக்கிப்பார்ப்போம். தேவன்  மேலுள்ள நமது விசுவாசம் அவமாகிப் போய்விடாமல் காத்துக்கொள்வோம்.

Bible Meditation - No. 1,438
'Aathavan' 💚 January 15, 2025. 💚 Wednesday

"Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain." (Galatians 4:10-11)

If we claim to be Christians, it is essential that we live a life of complete trust in God. Such a faith-filled life means prioritizing God above all else and valuing nothing more than Him.

However, today, even among those who identify as Christians, many prioritize cultural traditions and superstitions over God, thereby dishonouring Him. The apostle Paul refers to this behaviour in the verse, "Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years." In many Christian families, while planning significant events, they prioritize “auspicious” days, times, and months over seeking God's will. This reveals a lack of faith and disrespects Christ.

The Bible is filled with examples of great testimonies of faith. In our lives, too, the Lord Jesus Christ has performed marvellous deeds. Yet, many Christians, despite experiencing God's blessings, continue to rely on astrology and superstitions. Paul’s words in today’s verse, "I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain," express the futility of such practices. Observing favourable times and days undermines our Christian faith.

Moreover, we often see marriages arranged based on auspicious timings ending in divorce. This is evidence that these superstitions are unnecessary and baseless.

Dearly beloved, instead of focusing on times and seasons, we must fix our eyes on the One who holds all times and seasons in His hands. The Psalmist realized this truth and declared, "My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me." (Psalm 31:15). Our times are in the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone can deliver us from our troubles and adversaries.

If we live as those who truly know God, He will reveal His appointed times and purposes to us. God is never ignorant of time; those who know Him will also understand His appointed days. As the Scripture says, "Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?" (Job 24:1).

Let us stop observing days, months, and times, and instead look to the One who controls them all. Let us guard our faith in God so that it may not be in vain.

Meditation Verse - யோபு 38: 41 / Job 38:41

 வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,437

'ஆதவன்' ஜனவரி 14, 2025. 💚செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை

"காக்கைக்குஞ்சுகள் தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, ஆகாரமில்லாமல் பறந்து அலைகிறபோது, அவைகளுக்கு இரையைச் சவதரித்துக் கொடுக்கிறவர் யார்?" ( யோபு 38: 41)

இந்த உலகத்தில் தேவன் படைத்த அனைத்து உயிரினங்களுக்கும் அவரே உணவூட்டி அவற்றைப் பராமரிக்கின்றார்.  பறவைகளில் நாம் காக்கையை பெரிதாகக் கருதுவதில்லை. பல்வேறு அழகிய பறவைகள் உலகினில் உண்டு. ஆனால் காகம் அழகும் கவர்ச்சியும் இல்லாத ஒரு பறவை. அசுத்தத்தை உண்டு வாழும் பறவை. ஆனால் அந்த உணவும் அவைகளுக்கு இல்லாமல் போகும்போது அவைகளின் குரலுக்கும் தேவன் செவிகொடுத்து அவற்றுக்கு உணவூட்டுகின்றார் என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது.  

இதே கருத்தை நாம் சங்கீத நூலிலும், "அவர் மிருகஜீவன்களுக்கும் கூப்பிடுகிற காக்கைக் குஞ்சுகளுக்கும் ஆகாரங்கொடுக்கிறார்.' ( சங்கீதம் 147: 9) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். வேதாகமத்தில் இந்த வசனங்கள் நமது விசுவாசத்தை வளர்த்துவதற்காக பதிவுசெய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. அற்பமான காக்கை குஞ்சுகளுக்கே உணவளிக்கும் தேவன் தனது சாயலில் ரூபத்திலும் அவர் உண்டாக்கிய மனிதனுக்கு அவனது தேவைகளைச் சந்திக்க உதவாமலிருப்பாரா? 

நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தனது மலைப் பிரசங்கத்தில், "ஆகாயத்துப் பட்சிகளைக் கவனித்துப்பாருங்கள்; அவைகள் விதைக்கிறதுமில்லை, அறுக்கிறதுமில்லை, களஞ்சியங்களில் சேர்த்துவைக்கிறதுமில்லை; அவைகளையும் உங்கள் பரமபிதா பிழைப்பூட்டுகிறார்; அவைகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் நீங்கள் விசேஷித்தவர்கள் அல்லவா?" ( மத்தேயு 6: 26) என்று கூறினார். 

அவைகள் விதைக்கிறதுமில்லை, அறுக்கிறதுமில்லை, களஞ்சியங்களில் சேர்த்துவைக்கிறதுமில்லை என்று இயேசு கூறியதை சிலர் தவறுதலாகப் புரிந்துகொண்டு, அப்படியானால் நாம் இந்த உலகத்தில் உழைக்காமல்  இருந்தாலும் தேவன் உணவூட்டுவாரா? எனக் கேட்பதுண்டு.   உழைக்காதவன் உண்பதற்குத் தகுதியற்றவன் என்றுதான் வேதம் கூறுகின்றது. "ஒருவன் வேலைசெய்ய மனதில்லாதிருந்தால் அவன் சாப்பிடவும் கூடாதென்று நாங்கள் உங்களிடத்தில் இருந்தபோது உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டோமே." (2 தெசலோனிக்கேயர் 3: 10) என்கின்றார் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர். எனவே இயேசு கிறிஸ்து நமது விசுவாசத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தக் கூறும் வார்த்தைகளே இவை.  விதைக்காமல், அறுக்காமல், சேமித்து வைக்காமல் வாழும் பறவைகளுக்கே தேவன் உணவளிக்கும்போது  உழைக்கும் நமது தேவைகளைச் சந்திக்காமல் இருப்பாரா? 

ஆனால், ஐந்தறிவு காக்கைகளே தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவதுபோல நாமும் நமது தேவைகளுக்காக தேவனை நோக்கிப் பார்க்கவேண்டியது அவசியம்.  நமது உழைப்பு தேவையாக இருந்தாலும் உழைப்புக்கேற்ற பலனை நாம் அடையச் செய்வது தேவனே. 

நமது தேவைகள், இக்கட்டுகளின்போது இந்த வசனங்களால் நம்மைத் திடப்படுத்திக் கொள்வோம். ஆம், கூப்பிடுகிற காக்கைக் குஞ்சுகளுக்கும் ஆகாரங்கொடுக்கிறவர், தேவச் சாயலாகப் படைக்கப்பட்ட நமது தேவைகளைச் சந்திக்காமல் இருக்கமாட்டார்.

Scripture Meditation - No. 1,437
AATHAVAN 💚 January 14, 2025 💚 Tuesday

"Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat." (Job 38:41)

In this world, God is the provider and sustainer of all living creatures He has created. Among the many birds, the raven is not one we often hold in high regard. There are numerous beautiful and colourful birds, but the raven, lacking charm and beauty, survives by feeding on what others consider unclean. Yet, as today's meditation verse reminds us, even when their food becomes scarce, God hears their cries and provides for them.

This truth is echoed in the Psalms: "He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry." (Psalm 147:9). These verses are recorded in the Bible to strengthen our faith. If God listens to the cries of young ravens and feeds them, will He not meet the needs of mankind, whom He created in His own image?

Our Lord Jesus Christ emphasized this in His Sermon on the Mount: "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" (Matthew 6:26).

Some may misinterpret Jesus' words, thinking that if the birds neither sow nor reap, then humans need not labour either, as God will provide. However, Scripture teaches that "if any would not work, neither should he eat." (2 Thessalonians 3:10). The Apostle Paul clearly reinforces the importance of work. Jesus' words are meant to affirm our faith, assuring us that if God provides for birds who neither sow, reap, nor store up, He will certainly meet the needs of those who labour faithfully.

Yet, just as the instinct-driven ravens cry out to God, it is essential for us to look to Him for our needs. While our efforts are necessary, it is God who blesses our labour with its fruits.

Let us take refuge in these verses during times of need and challenges. Yes, the God who feeds the young ravens that cry will not fail to meet the needs of His children, created in His image.

Meditation Verse - மத்தேயு 28: 20 / Matthew 28:20

 வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,436

'ஆதவன்' 💚ஜனவரி 13, 2025. 💚திங்கள்கிழமை

"நான் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட யாவையும் அவர்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம்பண்ணுங்கள். இதோ, உலகத்தின் முடிவுபரியந்தம் சகல நாட்களிலும் நான் உங்களுடனேகூட இருக்கிறேன்." ( மத்தேயு 28: 20)

நமது ஆண்டவர் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து மரித்து உயிர்த்து உலகத்தைவிட்டுச் செல்லுமுன் தனது சீடர்களிடம் கூறிய வார்த்தைகளே இன்றைய தியான வசனம். மட்டுமல்ல, மத்தேயு நற்செய்தியின் இறுதி வசனம் இதுதான். இந்த வசனத்தில் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தனது சீடர்களிடம், அவர் கட்டளையிட்ட அனைத்தையும் மக்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி உபதேசிக்கக் கூறுகின்றார். இப்படி கிறிஸ்துவின் போதனைகளை மற்றவர்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பதுதான் நற்செய்தி அறிவிப்பு. 

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் தொடர்ந்து கூறுகின்றது, "இதோ, உலகத்தின் முடிவுபரியந்தம் சகல நாட்களிலும் நான் உங்களுடனேகூட இருக்கிறேன்." என்று. இதன் பொருள் என்னவென்றால், அவரது கட்டளைகளின்படி வாழும்போது அவர் என்றும் நம்மோடு இருப்பார் என்பதுதான். அது குறிப்பிட்ட காலம் வரை மட்டுமல்ல, மாறாக உலகம் முடியும் நாள்வரை இந்த வசனம் பலிக்கும்; அவரும் அப்படி அவர் கட்டளைகளின்படி வாழும் மக்களோடு இருப்பார். 

இன்று நாம் இந்த வாசனத்தை வாழ்வாக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். தாறுமாறான வாழ்க்கை வாழ்ந்துகொண்டு அவர் நம்மோடு இருக்கிறார் என்று நாம் கூறிக்கொண்டிருப்பதில் அர்த்தமில்லை. அதுபோல, "அவர் எங்கே நம்மோடு இருக்கிறார்?" என்று சந்தேகத்தோடு கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருப்பதிலும் அர்த்தமில்லை.  இன்று பலரும் தேவனைத் தங்களது  வாழ்வில் தனிப்பட்ட விதத்தில் அறியாமலும் அனுபவிக்காமலும்  இருப்பதால் அவர்கள் இந்த வசனத்தின் ஆழத்தினை உணர்வதில்லை. அவர் கூறியபடி நம்மோடு இருப்பதை அனுபவிப்பதுமில்லை. 

மட்டுமல்ல, இந்த வசனம் கூறுவதுபோல கிறிஸ்து நம்மோடு இருப்பதை  நாம் அனுபவிக்கும்போதுதான் நாம் பாவத்தை மேற்கொண்டவர்களாக வாழ முடியும். வெற்றிகரமான ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையினை வாழமுடியும். "அவரில் நிலைத்திருக்கிற எவனும் பாவஞ்செய்கிறதில்லை; பாவஞ்செய்கிற எவனும் அவரைக் காணவுமில்லை, அவரை அறியவுமில்லை." (1 யோவான்  3 : 6) என்று வேத வசனம் கூறுவது பொய்யல்ல. அதாவது அவரில் நாம் நிலைத்திருந்தால் பாவம் செய்யமாட்டோம்; பாவம் செய்துகொண்டே இருப்போமானால் அவரை வாழ்வில் காணவுமாட்டோம். 

இன்று கிறிஸ்துவைத் தனிப்பட்ட விதத்தில் வாழ்வில் அனுபவிக்காததால் பல்வேறு தாறுமாறான உபதேசங்கள் கிறிஸ்தவ உலகில் பரவிக் கிடக்கின்றது. கிறிஸ்துவை தனிப்பட்ட விதத்தில் அனுபவிக்காத போதகர்கள் எப்படி கிறிஸ்துவை மற்றவர்களுக்கு எடுத்துக்கூறமுடியும்? 

எனவே, அன்பானவர்களே, அவர் கட்டளையிட்ட யாவையும் நாம்  கைக்கொள்ளும்படி கவனமாக இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். மட்டுமல்ல, இதனை நாம் மற்றவர்களுக்கும் அறிவிக்கக் கடமைப்பட்டுள்ளோம். இதனையே இயேசு கிறிஸ்து, "அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம்பண்ணுங்கள்" என்று கட்டளையாகக் கூறினார்.  அப்படி வசனத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து வாழும்போது அவர் சகல நாட்களிலும் நம்முடனே கூட இருப்பதை வாழ்வில் நாம் அனுபவிக்கமுடியும். அப்போது மற்றவர்களும் நம்மூலம் அவரை அறிந்துகொள்வார்கள்.

 Scripture Meditation - No. 1,436                            AATHAVAN 💚 January 13, 2025 💚 Monday

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:20)

Today's meditation verse contains the words spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ to His disciples before He ascended to heaven after His resurrection. This is not only a pivotal command but also the concluding verse of the Gospel of Matthew. In this verse, Jesus commands His disciples to teach people to observe all the instructions He has given. Sharing Christ's teachings with others is the essence of spreading the Gospel.

The verse also assures us, "lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." This means that as long as we live according to His commandments, He will remain with us—not for a limited period, but until the very end of the world. This promise is eternal, and it applies to those who live by His instructions.

Today, it is essential that we bring this verse to life. Merely claiming that "He is with us" while living a disorderly life is meaningless. Similarly, doubting His presence by asking, "Where is He with us?" reflects a lack of understanding of His promise. Many fail to experience His presence and understand the depth of this verse because they do not know Him personally in their lives.

Furthermore, as the verse assures, experiencing Christ's presence empowers us to live a victorious spiritual life free from sin. The Scripture declares, "Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him." (1 John 3:6) This is not a lie. When we abide in Him, we do not continue in sin. However, if we persist in sin, we fail to truly see or know Him in our lives.

Today, the lack of a personal experience of Christ is the reason for the spread of false teachings in the Christian world. How can preachers who have not personally experienced Christ convey Him to others?

Therefore, beloved, it is vital for us to observe all that He has commanded. Moreover, we are obligated to teach others to do the same. Jesus Christ specifically commanded, "Teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." When we live in obedience to this verse, we will always experience His presence with us. As a result, others will come to know Him through us.

'ஆதவன்' 💚ஜனவரி 12, 2025. 💚ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை

"விழித்திருங்கள், விசுவாசத்திலே நிலைத்திருங்கள், புருஷராயிருங்கள், திடன்கொள்ளுங்கள்." (1 கொரிந்தியர் 16: 13)

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் நாம் கடைபிடிக்கவேண்டிய நான்கு குணங்களை வலியுறுத்திக் கூறுகின்றது. அவை:- நாம் ஆவிக்குரிய காரியங்களில் விழிப்புடன் இருக்கவேண்டும், கர்த்தர்மேலுள்ள விசுவாசத்தில் உறுதியாக இருக்கவேண்டும், ஒரு ஆணைப்போல உறுதிவேண்டும்,  இறுதியில் ஆவியானவரின் திடன் பொருந்தியவர்களாக இருந்து உலகத்தை வெற்றிகொள்ளவேண்டும்.  

இங்கு விழித்திருப்பது என்பது உறங்காமல் இருப்பதைக் குறிக்கவில்லை. மாறாக, நமது கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் இரண்டாம் வருகை எப்போது நிகழும் என்று நமக்குத் தெரியாது. அது இரவில் திருடன் வருவதுபோல வரும் என்று இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறியுள்ளார். மேலும் அவர் கூறிய 10 கன்னியர் உவமையில் இதனையே வலியுறுத்திக் கூறினார். அந்த உவமையின் இறுதியில் அவர் கூறுகின்றார்:- "மனுஷகுமாரன் வரும் நாளையாவது நாழிகையையாவது நீங்கள் அறியாதிருக்கிறபடியால் விழித்திருங்கள்." ( மத்தேயு 25: 13) என்று. அதாவது நாம் அவர் எப்போது வந்தாலும் அவரை எதிர்கொள்ள ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கவேண்டும். 

இரண்டாவது, இந்த வசனத்தில் விசுவாசத்தைப் பற்றிக்  கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. கிறிஸ்தவ மார்க்கமே விசுவாசத்தை அடிப்டையாகக் கொண்டது தான். தேவனுக்கு ஏற்புடைய வாழ்க்கைக்கு விசுவாசமே அடிப்படை. எனவேதான் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் தனது சீடன் தீத்துவுக்கு, "விசுவாசத்திலே ஆரோக்கியமுள்ளவர்களாயிருக்கும்படி, நீ அவர்களைக் கண்டிப்பாய்க் கடிந்துகொள்." ( தீத்து 1: 14) என்று அறிவுரை கூறுகின்றார். எனவே தேவன்மேலுள்ள விசுவாசத்தில் நாம் உறுதியாக இருக்கவேண்டும்.

மூன்றாவது இன்றைய வசனத்தில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது, புருஷராயிருங்கள் என்று. அதாவது ஒரு நல்ல ஆண்மகனைப்போல நாம் திடமான உறுதியுள்ளவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். இந்த உறுதி நமக்குள் ஆவியானவர் செயல்படும்போதுதான் நம்மில் வெளிப்படும். புயல்காற்று கப்பலை அலைக்கழித்து உயிர் பிழைப்போமோ மாட்டோமோ என்று கப்பல் பயணிகள் மனம்தளர்ந்து இருந்தபோது அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் திடமான புருஷனாக இருந்து அவர்களைத் தைரியப்படுத்தியதை நாம் அப்போஸ்தலர்ப்பணி நூலில் பின்வருமாறு வாசிக்கின்றோம்:-  "ஆனபடியினால் மனுஷரே, திடமனதாயிருங்கள். எனக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்ட பிரகாரமாகவே நடக்கும் என்று தேவனிடத்தில் நம்பிக்கையாயிருக்கிறேன்." ( அப்போஸ்தலருடைய நடபடிகள் 27: 25)

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் இறுதியாகக் கூறுகின்றது, திடன் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று. ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, உலகத்தின் உபத்திரவங்கள், துன்பங்களைக்கண்டு மனம் துவளாமல் நாம் திடன்கொண்டவர்களாக வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம். இதனையே நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து   "என்னிடத்தில் உங்களுக்குச் சமாதானம் உண்டாயிருக்கும்பொருட்டு இவைகளை உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன். உலகத்தில் உங்களுக்கு உபத்திரவம் உண்டு, ஆனாலும் திடன்கொள்ளுங்கள்; நான் உலகத்தை ஜெயித்தேன் என்றார்." ( யோவான் 16: 33) என்று நமக்கு அறிவுறுத்தினார். 

எனவே இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறும் நான்கு காரியங்களையும் நாம் கடைபிடிக்க உறுதியாக இருப்போம். அவரது வருகைக்காக விழிப்பாய் இருப்போம், விசுவாசத்தை தளரவிடாமல் காத்துக்கொண்டு ஒரு ஆண்மகனைப்போல உறுதியாகச் செயல்படுவோம், திடன்கொண்டவர்களாக நமது கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உலகத்தை ஜெயித்ததுபோல நாமும் ஜெயம் பெற்றவர்களாக வாழ்வோம்.

Scripture Meditation - No. 1,435

AATHAVAN 💚 January 12, 2025, 💚 Sunday

"Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be

 strong." (1 Corinthians 16:13)

Today's meditation verse emphasizes four essential qualities we must cultivate in our spiritual life. These are:

Being watchful in spiritual matters.

Standing firm in faith in the Lord.

Acting with courage like a man.

Being strong in the Spirit to overcome the world.

Here, being watchful does not mean staying awake physically but being spiritually alert. Our Lord Jesus Christ has reminded us that His second coming will occur unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. He also emphasized this truth in the parable of the ten virgins, concluding with, "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." (Matthew 25:13) This means we must always be prepared to meet Him, regardless of when He comes.

The verse also speaks of faith, which is foundational to Christian life. A life acceptable to God is built on faith. That is why Apostle Paul advised his disciple Titus, "Rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith." (Titus 1:13) We, too, must remain unwavering in our faith in God.

The third instruction in today’s verse is to "quit you like men." This means we should exhibit firm courage, like a noble man, especially in our spiritual walk. Such courage is possible when the Holy Spirit works in us. When the passengers aboard a ship were gripped with fear during a storm, wondering if they would survive, Apostle Paul displayed this courage. He comforted them, saying: "Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me." (Acts 27:25)

Finally, the verse urges us to "be strong." Dear believers, we must live with strength and determination, unmoved by the tribulations and troubles of this world. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself said: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

Let us commit ourselves to adhere to the four principles outlined in today’s meditation. Let us stay watchful for His coming, stand firm in faith, act with courage like a man, and live as overcomers, strengthened by the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

சங்கீதம் 44: 6 / Psalm 44:6

 வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண்:- 1,434

'ஆதவன்' 💚ஜனவரி 11, 2025. 💚சனிக்கிழமை

"என் வில்லை நான் நம்பேன், என் பட்டயம் என்னை இரட்சிப்பதில்லை." ( சங்கீதம் 44: 6)

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் தனது சுய பலத்தை நம்பாமல் கர்த்தரையே நம்பி வாழக்கூடிய பக்தனுடைய வார்த்தைகளாகும்.  இங்கு வில், பட்டயம் என்பவை சுய பலத்தைக்  குறிக்கும் வார்த்தைகளாக  உள்ளன. அவை நமது உடல் வலிமை, அதிகார பலம், செல்வத்திரட்சி இவைகளைக் குறிக்கின்றன.  இந்த வசனத்தில் சங்கீத ஆசிரியர்,  "நான் இவைகளை நம்பவில்லை, இவை என்னைக் காப்பாற்றப்போவதுமில்லை"  என்கின்றார். 

தொடர்ந்து அடுத்த வசனத்தில் அவர் கூறுகின்றார்:-  "நீரே எங்கள் சத்துருக்களினின்று எங்களை இரட்சித்து, எங்களைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களை வெட்கப்படுத்துகிறீர்." ( சங்கீதம் 44: 7) என்று.  இதனையே தாவீது ராஜாவும் தனது சங்கீத வார்த்தைகளில்,  "எந்த ராஜாவும் தன் சேனையின் மிகுதியால் இரட்சிக்கப்படான்; சவுரியவானும் தன் பலத்தின் மிகுதியால் தப்பான். இரட்சிக்கிறதற்குக் குதிரை விருதா; அது தன் மிகுந்த வீரியத்தால் தப்புவியாது."  ( சங்கீதம் 33: 16, 17) என்கின்றார். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் எவ்வளவு உடல் வலிமை, பணபலம்,  அதிகாரபலம் கொண்டவர்களாக இருந்தாலும் அவை நம்மை இக்கட்டுகளிலிருந்து முற்றிலும் விடுவிக்கமாட்டாது. ஆனால் பெரும்பாலான மனிதர்களுக்கு இந்த அறிவு இருப்பதில்லை. அவர்கள் மிகுதியான உலக பலம் இருப்பதால் இறுமாப்புக்கொண்டு மற்றவர்களை அற்பமாக எண்ணி வாழ்கின்றார்கள். ஆனால் ஒரு சிலர் தங்கள் வாழ்வின் இறுதிக்கட்டத்தில் இதனை உணர்ந்து கொண்டாலும் அந்தச் சமயத்தில் இந்த உணர்வு அவர்களுக்குக் கைகொடுப்பதில்லை. 

நாம் வாழ்வில் கண்டுள்ள பல்வேறு திரைப்பட பிரபலங்கள், அரசியல் ஜாம்பவான்கள் தங்களது இறுதி நாட்களில் மன அமைதியின்றி வாழ்ந்து மடிந்துள்ளனர். காரணம் சுய பலத்தை நம்பிய வாழ்க்கை. 

எனவேதான்  நாம் நமக்கு என்ன உலக ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் இருந்தாலும் அவற்றின்மேல் நம்பிக்கையை வைக்காமல் கர்த்தர்மேல் நம்பிக்கைக் கொண்டவர்களாக வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம். நாம் நம்பும் உலக ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் நமக்கு எப்போதும் கைகொடுக்காது. எரேமியா தீர்க்கத்தரிசி கூறுகின்றார்:- "கர்த்தர்மேல் நம்பிக்கைவைத்து, கர்த்தரைத் தன் நம்பிக்கையாகக்கொண்டிருக்கிற மனுஷன் பாக்கியவான். அவன் தண்ணீரண்டையில் நாட்டப்பட்டதும், கால்வாய் ஓரமாகத் தன் வேர்களை விடுகிறதும், உஷ்ணம் வருகிறதைக் காணாமல் இலை பச்சையாயிருக்கிறதும், மழைத்தாழ்ச்சியான வருஷத்திலும் வருத்தமின்றித் தப்பாமல் கனிகொடுக்கிறதுமான மரத்தைப்போலிருப்பான்." ( எரேமியா 17: 7, 8)

மேற்படி வசனத்தில், "உஷ்ணம் வருகிறதைக் காணாமல் இலை பச்சையாயிருக்கிறதும், மழைத்தாழ்ச்சியான வருஷத்திலும் வருத்தமின்றித் தப்பாமல் கனிகொடுக்கிறதுமான மரத்தைப்போலிருப்பான்." என்று உவமையாகக் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது நமது உலக துன்பங்களைத்தான். தண்ணீரண்டையில் நாட்டப்பட்டதும், கால்வாய் ஓரமாக நடப்பட்டதுமான மரம் எப்படிக்  கடுமையான வெப்பம், மழை இல்லாமை போன்ற எதிர்மறையான சூழ்நிலையிலும் இவைகளைத் தாங்கி பலன்தருகின்றதோ அதுபோலவே தனது சுய பலத்தை நம்பாமல் கர்த்தரையே நம்பி கர்த்தரோடு இணைந்த வாழ்க்கை வாழும் மனிதன் செழிப்போடு இருப்பான். 

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுவதுபோல எவ்வளவு உடல்பலம், செல்வத் திரட்சி, அதிகார பலம் நமக்கு இருந்தாலும் "என் வில்லை நான் நம்பேன், என் பட்டயம் என்னை இரட்சிப்பதில்லை, கர்த்தரே என் நம்பிக்கையாகக்  கொள்ளுவேன்" எனும் உறுதியோடு வாழ்வோம்.

"For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me." (Psalm 44:6)

Today's meditation verse reflects the words of a devout believer who chooses to trust in the Lord rather than in personal strength. Here, the "bow" and "sword" symbolize self-reliance—physical strength, power, and wealth. The Psalmist declares, “I do not trust in these things, nor will they save me.”

In the next verse, he continues: "But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us." (Psalm 44:7)

Similarly, King David states in his psalms: "There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. A horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength." (Psalm 33:16-17)

Yes, beloved, no matter how much physical strength, wealth, or authority we possess, they cannot deliver us from life's critical challenges. Unfortunately, many people fail to realize this. With an abundance of worldly power, they often live in pride, belittling others. Some may come to understand this truth at the very end of their lives, but by then, it may be too late.

Many prominent figures in cinema and politics have spent their final days in turmoil and passed away without peace. The root cause? A life built on self-reliance.

That is why it is essential for us to place our trust not in worldly blessings but in the Lord. The worldly blessings we depend on will fail us when we need them most. As the prophet Jeremiah says: "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

In this verse, the imagery of a tree planted by the waters, thriving despite heat or drought, symbolizes a person who, instead of relying on personal strength, places their trust in the Lord. Just as such a tree bears fruit even in harsh conditions, a life anchored in God’s strength flourishes in every situation.

As today's verse reminds us, no matter how much physical strength, wealth, or authority we possess, let us resolve: "I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me; I will place my trust in the Lord."

Meditation Verse - பிலிப்பியர் 3: 14 / Philippians 3:14

'ஆதவன்' 💚ஜனவரி 10, 2025. 💚வெள்ளிக்கிழமை

"கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குள் தேவன் அழைத்த பரம அழைப்பின் பந்தயப்பொருளுக்காக இலக்கை நோக்கித் தொடருகிறேன்." ( பிலிப்பியர் 3: 14)

ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையினை அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் தனது நிரூபங்களில் ஓட்டப்பந்தயம், (1 கொரிந்தியர் 9: 24, 25) மல்யுத்தம் (2 தீமோத்தேயு 2:5) சிலம்பம் (1 கொரிந்தியர் 9: 26) போன்ற விளையாட்டுகளுடன் ஒப்பிட்டு எழுதியுள்ளார். நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை எந்த விளையாட்டைப்போல இருந்தாலும் நமது இலக்கு அதில் வெற்றிவாகை சூடுவதாக இருக்கவேண்டுமென்று வலியுறுத்துகின்றார்.   

அதனையே அவர் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில், "பரம அழைப்பின் பந்தயப்பொருளுக்காக இலக்கை நோக்கித் தொடருகிறேன்" என்று கூறுகின்றார். அதாவது, தனது இலக்கை இன்னும் தான் அடையவில்லை  "நான் அடைந்தாயிற்று, அல்லது முற்றும் தேறினவனானேன் என்று எண்ணாமல், கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினால் நான் எதற்காகப் பிடிக்கப்பட்டேனோ அதை நான் பிடித்துக்கொள்ளும்படி ஆசையாய்த் தொடருகிறேன்." ( பிலிப்பியர் 3: 12) என்கின்றார்.

நமது பரம அழைப்பின் பந்தயப்  பொருள் என்று குறிப்பிடப்படுவது நித்திய  ஜீவன் எனும் முடிவில்லா வாழ்வைத்தான். அந்த இலக்கை அடைவதற்காகவே நாம் அழைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளோம். நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை அதனை நோக்கி நகர்வதாகவே இருக்கவேண்டும். அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் கூறுவதுபோல் அதனை அடைந்திடவே நாமும் நமது பயணத்தைக் தொடரவேண்டும்.

ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வின் ஆரம்பகட்டத்தில் இருப்பவர்களுக்கு இது அவ்வளவு தெளிவாகப் புரியாது. ஆனால் ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் நாம் தேறினவர்களாக இருக்கின்றோமென்றால்  இந்த சிந்தை நமக்கு இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். இதனையே பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து கூறுகின்றார்:-  "ஆகையால், நம்மில் தேறினவர்கள் யாவரும் இந்தச் சிந்தையாயிருக்கக்கடவோம்; எந்தக் காரியத்திலாவது நீங்கள் வேறே சிந்தையாயிருந்தால், அதையும் தேவன் உங்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்துவார்." ( பிலிப்பியர் 3: 15)

இன்று தங்களை ஆவிக்குரிய கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் என்று கூறிக்கொண்டாலும் பலருக்கு இந்தத் தெளிவு இருப்பதில்லை. ஆராதனையெனும் பெயரில் ஒரு சில பாடல்களைப்பாடித் துதிப்பதுதான் ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை என்று எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றார்கள்.   எனவே பலரிடம் கனியுள்ள ஒரு வாழ்க்கை இல்லாமலிருக்கின்றது. ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே,  தேவனுக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யும் அனைவரும் விசுவாசத்தில் உறுதிப்பட்டவர்கள் என்று கூறிட முடியாது. முழுமையான உறுதியான விசுவாசமில்லாதவர்களும் ஆராதனை செய்யலாம். 

மட்டுமல்ல, நித்திய ஜீவனை அடைய இந்த உலகத்தில் விசுவாச போராட்டம் நமக்கு அவசியம். துன்பங்களை விசுவாசத்தோடு ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு வெற்றிபெறும் அனுபவம் அவசியம். அதன் மூலமே நாம் நித்திய ஜீவனைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ள முடியும். இதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் தனது சீடனாகிய தீமோத்தேயுவுக்கு பின்வருமாறு கூறுகின்றார்:- "விசுவாசத்தின் நல்ல போராட்டத்தைப் போராடு, நித்தியஜீவனைப் பற்றிக்கொள்; அதற்காகவே நீ அழைக்கப்பட்டாய்" ( 1 தீமோத்தேயு 6: 12)

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தனது சுய இரத்தத்தால் ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ள மீட்பினை நாம் பெற்று வாழும்போதுதான் நாம் விசுவாசத்தில் பலத்தவர்களாக வாழமுடியும்; நமது ஆவிக்குரிய இலக்கை நோக்கித் தடையின்றி பயணிக்க முடியும். அப்படி வாழும்போதுதான் நாமும் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுலைப்போல "கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குள் தேவன் அழைத்த பரம அழைப்பின் பந்தயப்பொருளுக்காக இலக்கை நோக்கித் தொடருகிறேன்." என்று கூறமுடியும்.

"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:14)

The Apostle Paul, in his writings, often compares spiritual life to various athletic pursuits such as running a race (1 Corinthians 9:24-25), wrestling (2 Timothy 2:5), and boxing (1 Corinthians 9:26). Through these analogies, he emphasizes that our spiritual journey, regardless of the sport it resembles, should aim toward achieving victory.

In today’s meditation verse, he says, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” This signifies that he had not yet attained his ultimate goal. He declares: "Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:12)

The “prize of the high calling” refers to eternal life – the unending life we are called to inherit. Our spiritual journey must consistently move toward this goal. As Apostle Paul insists, we too must continue our journey with a focus on achieving this ultimate reward.

For those in the early stages of their spiritual journey, this concept may not be very clear. However, as we grow and mature spiritually, this mindset becomes essential. Paul further clarifies this in the following verse: "Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you." (Philippians 3:15)

Today, many who claim to be spiritual Christians lack this clarity. They assume that simply singing a few songs of worship constitutes spiritual life. Consequently, their lives often lack the fruit of the Spirit. Dearly beloved, worshiping God does not automatically signify a steadfast faith. Even those with incomplete or wavering faith can participate in worship.

Furthermore, to attain eternal life, the struggle of faith in this world is indispensable. Accepting sufferings with faith and experiencing victory is necessary. Only through such experiences can we lay hold of eternal life. Apostle Paul emphasizes this in his instruction to Timothy: "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called." (1 Timothy 6:12)

Yes, beloved, only when we live under the redemption wrought by our Lord Jesus Christ through His own precious blood can we become strong in faith and proceed unhindered toward our spiritual goal. It is in living this way that we, like Apostle Paul, can say: "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
