🦋 Meditation verse - யாத்திராகமம் 20: 2, 3 / Exodus 20:2–3

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳  

📖  வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1814                                

🔆 ஆதவன் 25.01.2026 ஞாயிறு       

"உன்னை அடிமைத்தன வீடாகிய எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நானே. என்னையன்றி உனக்கு வேறே தேவர்கள் உண்டாயிருக்கவேண்டாம்." ( யாத்திராகமம் 20: 2, 3)

தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மோசேக்கு அளித்த பத்துக்கட்டளைகளில் முதலாவது கட்டளை இன்றைய தியான வசனம்.  இந்தக் கட்டளையினைத் தொடந்து,  "மேலே வானத்திலும், கீழே பூமியிலும், பூமியின் கீழ்த் தண்ணீரிலும் உண்டாயிருக்கிறவைகளுக்கு ஒப்பான ஒரு சொரூபத்தையாகிலும் யாதொரு விக்கிரகத்தையாகிலும் நீ உனக்கு உண்டாக்கவேண்டாம்" ( யாத்திராகமம் 20: 4) என்று தேவன் கூறுகின்றார்.  

"வேறு தேவர்கள்", "விக்கிரகம்" என்ற வார்த்தைகள் பொதுவாக வேறு மத தெய்வங்களை மட்டும் குறிப்பதாக நம்மில் பலரும் எண்ணிக்கொள்கின்றோம். எனவே, அப்படி நாம் அவற்றை வணங்காததால் நாம் வேறு தெய்வங்களையோ, சிலைகளையோ வழிபடவில்லை என்று எண்ணிக்கொள்கின்றோம்.  ஆனால் அது முற்றிலும் சரி என்று கூறிடமுடியாது.

வேதாகம அடிப்படையில் மண்ணாலோ, பொன்னாலோ, மரத்தாலோ செய்யப்பட்டச் சிலைகளை வணங்குவது மட்டுமல்ல, கூடவே,  தேவனைத் தவிர நாம் யாருக்கு, எவற்றுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்தாலும் அது விக்கிரக ஆராதனைதான், அது அந்நிய தெய்வ வழிபாடுதான். 

மேலே வானத்திலும், கீழே பூமியிலும், பூமியின் கீழ்த் தண்ணீரிலும் இருக்கின்ற எந்தப் பொருளும் தேவனுக்கு ஈடானவை அல்ல. எனவே, இவைகளில் எதற்கு நாம் முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்தாலும் அது விக்கிரக ஆராதனைதான். ஆனால் பொதுவாக மனிதர்கள் நாம் இந்த உலகப் பொருட்களுக்குத்தான் முன்னுரிமைகொடுத்து இவைகளை வாழ்வில் அதிகமாகச் சேர்க்கவேண்டுமென்று ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றோம்.

நாம் ஒருவேளை நேரடியாகச் சிலைகளை வணங்காமல் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால், நம்மிடம் பணவெறி அல்லது பொருளாசை எனும் பாவம் இருக்குமானால் நாம் விக்கிரக ஆராதனை செய்கின்றோம் என்றுதான்  பொருள். எனவேதான் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், "விபசாரக்காரனாவது, அசுத்தனாவது, விக்கிரக ஆராதனைக்காரனாகிய பொருளாசைக்காரனாவது தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யமாகிய கிறிஸ்துவின் ராஜ்யத்திலே சுதந்தரமடைவதில்லையென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்களே." ( எபேசியர் 5: 5) என்று கூறுகின்றார்.

மேலும், "விபசாரம், அசுத்தம், மோகம், துர்யிச்சை, விக்கிரகாராதனையான பொருளாசை ஆகிய இவைகளைப் பூமியில் உண்டுபண்ணுகிற உங்கள் அவயவங்களை அழித்துப்போடுங்கள்." ( கொலோசெயர் 3: 5) என்று அவர் நமக்கு ஆலோசனைக் கூறுகின்றார். 

இதுபோல சிலருக்கு பெருமை, பதவி வெறி, போன்றவை வாழ்வில் விக்கிரகமாக இருக்கின்றன. நம்மை யாராவது மேன்மைப் படுத்தியவில்லை; மதிக்கவில்லையானால் நமக்குள் சிலவேளைகளில் கோபமும் வருத்தமும் ஏற்படுகின்றது. காரணம், நம்மையே நாம் ஒரு விக்கிரகமாக எண்ணிக்கொண்டு மற்றவர்களது மதிப்புக்காக ஏங்குவதுதான். ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இத்தகைய குணங்களை நமக்குள் வைத்துக்கொண்டு நாம் சிலைகளை வணங்காமல் இருந்தாலும் நாம் சிலைவழிபாட்டுக்காரர்கள்தான். சுருக்கமாகக் கூறுவோமானால், ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு முன்னுரிமை கொடுக்காமல் வேறு எவற்றுக்கு நாம் வாழ்வில் முன்னுரிமை கொடுத்தாலும் அவைகள் நமது வாழ்வில் விக்கிரகங்கள்தான். 

இன்று, நம்மைப்  பாவ அடிமைத்தனமாகிய எகிப்திலிருந்து ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து இரட்சித்து வழிநடத்தி வருகின்றார். எனவேதான் "உன்னை அடிமைத்தன வீடாகிய எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நானே" என்று அவர் கூறுகின்றார். எனவே அவரையே நாம் முன்னிலைப்படுத்தி வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம். நம்மை இப்படித் தனது  சுய இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தி மீட்ட கிறிஸ்துவைத் தவிர வேறே தேவர்கள் உண்டாயிருக்கவேண்டாம் என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனம் நமக்கு அறிவுறுத்துகின்றது. 

இறுதியாக அன்பர்களே, நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து சிலைகளை வணங்குவதைக் குறித்து எச்சரிக்காமல் பொருளாசையைக்  குறித்தே முக்கியமாக எச்சரித்தார். ஆம், "பின்பு அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பொருளாசையைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; ஏனெனில் ஒருவனுக்கு எவ்வளவு திரளான ஆஸ்தி இருந்தாலும் அது அவனுக்கு ஜீவன் அல்ல என்றார்." ( லுூக்கா 12: 15) காரணம் பொருளாசை என்பது வேறுதெய்வ வழிபாடு; அதுவே சிலை வழிபாடு. அது நம்மை எகிப்தாகிய பாவ அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து மீட்ட கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு எதிரான பகை.

“Within the Seeds” 🌳

🔆 AATHAVAN – Sunday, 25.01.2026

“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me.” (Exodus 20:2–3)

Today’s meditation verse is the first commandment among the Ten Commandments given by the Lord God to Moses. Following this commandment, God further declares:

“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.” (Exodus 20:4)

Many among us generally assume that the words “other gods” and “idols” refer only to the deities of other religions. Therefore, since we do not worship such gods, we tend to think that we are not worshiping other gods or idols. However, it cannot be said that this understanding is entirely correct.

According to biblical teaching, idol worship does not merely mean bowing down to statues made of clay, gold, or wood. Rather, giving importance to anyone or anything other than God Himself is idolatry—it is foreign worship.

Nothing that exists in heaven above, on the earth beneath, or in the waters under the earth can ever be equal to God. Therefore, whatever among these we give priority to becomes an idol. Yet, as human beings, we commonly give precedence to worldly possessions and continually run after them, striving to accumulate more and more in our lives.

We may not directly worship idols. But if the sin of greed or love of money dwells within us, then we are indeed practicing idolatry. That is why the Apostle Paul states:

“For this you know with certainty, that no sexually immoral or impure person, or greedy person, which amounts to an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.” (Ephesians 5:5)

He further exhorts us, saying:

“Therefore, consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.” (Colossians 3:5)

Likewise, for some people, pride and craving for position become idols in life. When we are not praised or respected by others, feelings of anger and disappointment sometimes arise within us. The reason is this: we begin to regard ourselves as idols and crave the approval and honor of others. Yes, beloved, even if we do not worship physical idols, when such attitudes dwell within us, we are still idol worshipers. In short, anything we prioritize in life without giving first place to our Lord Jesus Christ becomes an idol in our lives.

Today, our Lord Jesus Christ has redeemed us from Egypt—the bondage of sin—and continues to save and lead us. That is why He says, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.” Therefore, it is essential that we live by placing Him first in our lives. The meditation verse clearly instructs us that apart from Christ—who redeemed us by shedding His own precious blood—we should have no other gods.

Finally, beloved, our Lord Jesus Christ did not primarily warn about idol worship in terms of statues, but He strongly warned about greed. Yes, He said:

“Then He said to them, ‘Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.’” (Luke 12:15)

The reason is clear: greed is foreign worship; it is idol worship itself. It stands in opposition to Christ, who redeemed us from Egypt—the bondage of sin.

🦋 Meditation verse - 2 கொரிந்தியர் 3: 3 / 2 Corinthians 3:2–3

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳  

📖  வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1813                          

🔆 ஆதவன் 24.01.2026 சனி      

"ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் எங்கள் ஊழியத்தினால் உண்டாகிய கிறிஸ்துவின் நிருபமாயிருக்கிறீர்களென்று வெளியரங்கமாயிருக்கிறது; அது மையினாலல்ல, ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனுடைய ஆவியினாலும்; கற்பலகைகளிலல்ல, இருதயங்களாகிய சதையான பலகைகளிலேயும் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது." (2 கொரிந்தியர் 3: 3)

வேதாகமத்தில் நாம் பல்வேறு பரிசுத்தவான்கள் எழுதிய நிரூபங்களை வாசிக்கின்றோம். இந்த நிரூபங்கள் அவர்கள் கிறிஸ்துவோடு வாழ்ந்ததால் பெற்ற அனுபவங்களின் தொகுப்பு என்று கூறலாம். கிறிஸ்து அனுபவம் அவர்களது வாழ்வில் ஏற்படுத்திய தாக்கங்கள், மாற்றங்கள் இவற்றை அவர்கள் எழுதிவைத்துள்ளனர். மேலும், இவை எழுதப்பட மேலான நோக்கமுண்டு. அதாவது, இவற்றை வாசிக்கும் மக்கள் அவர்கள் பெற்ற அதே கிறிஸ்து அனுபவங்களைப் பெற்று கிறிஸ்துவை அறிந்து ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் வளர்ச்சியடையவேண்டும் என்பதே அந்த நோக்கமாகும். 

அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், யாக்கோபு, பேதுரு, யோவான், யூதா இவர்கள் எழுதிய நிரூபங்கள் வேதாகமத்தில் தொகுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இவற்றை வாசிக்கும்போது நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் மேலான மாற்றங்கள் ஏற்படுவதை நாம் உணரலாம். மத்தேயு, மாற்கு, லூக்கா, யோவான் நற்செய்திகள் மூலம் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின்  வாழ்க்கை வரலாறு, அவர் செய்த புதுமைகள், அவரது போதனைகளை நாம் அறிந்துகொள்கின்றோம். ஆனால், நிரூபங்கள் அந்தப் போதனைகளை வாழ்வாக்கிய மக்களின் அனுபவமாகும். எனவே, அவை நமக்கு மிகவும் தேவையாக இருக்கின்றன.

இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் கொரிந்து சபை மக்களை தனது ஊழியத்தினால் உருவாகிய நிரூபங்கள் என்கின்றார். ஏற்கெனவே பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர் பல்வேறு நிரூபங்கள் எழுதியபோதிலும் அவரது போதனை மற்றும் வாழ்க்கையால் கொரிந்து  சபை மக்களை உயிருள்ள நிரூபங்களாக மாற்றியுள்ளார். அதனையே அவர், "நீங்கள் எங்கள் ஊழியத்தினால் உண்டாகிய கிறிஸ்துவின் நிருபமாயிருக்கிறீர்களென்று வெளியரங்கமாயிருக்கிறது; அது மையினாலல்ல, ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனுடைய ஆவியினாலும்; கற்பலகைகளிலல்ல, இருதயங்களாகிய சதையான பலகைகளிலேயும் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது" என்கின்றார். 

எல்லோரும் எப்போதும் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கும் நிரூபங்களை வசித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கமுடியாது. ஆனால் உயிருள்ள சாட்சியுள்ள விசுவாச மக்களை எல்லோரும் அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையில் சந்திக்க முடியும். அப்படி சந்திக்கும்போது அவர்களது சாட்சியுள்ள வாழ்க்கையே கிறிஸ்துவை எடுத்துப் போதிக்கும்.  

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நாமும் இப்படி நிரூபங்களாக வாழவே அழைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளோம். இன்று கிறிஸ்தவத்தில் போதனைகள் அதிகம். ஆனால் பவுல் கூறுவதுபோல தேவனுடைய ஆவியினால்  இருதயங்களாகிய சதையான பலகைகளில் எழுதப்பட்ட உயிருள்ள சாட்சிகள் குறைவு.  கிறிஸ்துவை அறியாத மக்கள் வேதாகமத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ள நிரூபங்களை வாசிப்பது கிடையாது. ஆனால் அவர்கள் கிறிஸ்தவ விசுவாசிகளை உலகினில் சந்திக்கின்றனர். எனவே, நமது இருதயத்தில் கிறிஸ்துவின் நிரூபங்கள் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்குமானால் நமது வாழ்க்கை நாம் போதிக்காமலேயே அவர்கள் கிறிஸ்துவை அறிந்துகொள்ள உதவும். 

நாம் வேதாகமத்தையும் அப்போஸ்தலர்களின் நிரூபங்களையும் வாசிக்கும்போது இந்த எண்ணத்துடன் விண்ணப்பத்துடன் வாசிப்போம். "ஆண்டவரே, உமது வார்த்தைகளும் உமது பரிசுத்தவான்களது எழுத்துக்களும் என்னை மாற்றட்டும். அவை எனது இருதயமாகிய  சதையான பலகையிலே எழுதப்படவும் நான் வாழ்க்கை மாற்றமடைந்து போதிக்காமல் உம்மைப் போதிக்கவும் அருள்தாரும்" என்று வேண்டுதல் செய்வோம். அப்போது நாமே கிறிஸ்துவின் நிருபமாய் மாறிடுவோம்.

“You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” (2 Corinthians 3:2–3)

In the Bible, we read many epistles written by holy men of God. These letters can be understood as a collection of their experiences gained through living in close fellowship with Christ. They recorded the impact Christ had on their lives—the transformations and changes He brought about in them. Moreover, these epistles were written with a higher purpose: that those who read them might receive the same experience of Christ, come to know Him personally, and grow in their spiritual life.

The epistles written by the apostles Paul, James, Peter, John, and Jude are compiled in the Bible. When we read them, we can sense profound changes taking place in our spiritual lives. Through the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, we learn about the life history of Jesus Christ, His miracles, and His teachings. However, the epistles present the lived experience of people who put those teachings into practice. Therefore, they are extremely essential for us.

In today’s meditation verse, the apostle Paul calls the believers of the Corinthian church letters produced by his ministry. Although Paul himself wrote many epistles, through his teaching and his life he transformed the Corinthian believers into living epistles. That is why he says:

“You are a letter of Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” (2 Corinthians 3:3)

Not everyone, at all times, can read written epistles. But everyone can encounter living, witnessing believers in their daily lives. When such encounters happen, the believers’ testimony-filled lives themselves proclaim Christ.

Yes, beloved, we too are called to live as such epistles. Today, Christianity abounds with teachings. Yet, as Paul says, there is a scarcity of living witnesses—those written by the Spirit of God on tablets of human hearts. People who do not know Christ may not read the epistles written in the Bible, but they do encounter Christian believers in the world. Therefore, if the epistle of Christ is written in our hearts, our lives—without us even preaching—will help them come to know Christ.

As we read the Bible and the epistles of the apostles, let us read them with this desire and prayer:

“Lord, let Your Word and the writings of Your saints transform me. Let them be written on the tablet of my heart, and grant that my life may be changed, so that without preaching, my life itself may proclaim You.”

Then, we ourselves will become the epistle of Christ.

🦋 Meditation vers - எபேசியர் 5: 14 / Ephesians 5:14

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳  

📖  வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1812                         

🔆 ஆதவன் 23.01.2026 வெள்ளி     

"ஆதலால், தூங்குகிற நீ விழித்து, மரித்தோரை விட்டு எழுந்திரு, அப்பொழுது கிறிஸ்து உன்னைப் பிரகாசிப்பிப்பாரென்று சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்." ( எபேசியர் 5: 14)

ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் எந்தவித ஆர்வமுமின்றி, தேவனை அறியும் ஆர்வமின்றி, வெற்றுச் சடங்கு வழிபாட்டு முறைமைகளில் கலந்துகொண்டு அதனால் திருப்திப்பட்டுக்கொண்டு வாழ்வது நாம் தூங்குவதற்கு ஒப்பாகும். மட்டுமல்ல, அது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வின் மரணமுமாக இருக்கின்றது. 

இன்று உலகினில் பலரும் தேவனை அறியும் ஆர்வமின்றி, அவரைத் தேடாமல் வாழ்கின்றனர். மட்டுமல்ல, தங்களது  உலகத் தேவைகளுக்காக மட்டுமே ஆலய வழிபாடுகளில் கலந்துகொண்டு, வேண்டுதல்கள் செய்துகொண்டு  அதனால் மனநிறைவடைந்தவர்களாக வாழ்கின்றனர். எனவே இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களது உள்ளத்தில் எந்தவித ஒளியும் இருப்பதில்லை. இத்தகைய மனிதர்கள் உறங்குபவர்கள் அல்லது மரித்தவர்கள் என்று வேதம் கூறுகின்றது.

கிறிஸ்துவை ஆராதிக்கின்றோம் என்று கூறும் நாம் இப்படி ஒளி இழந்தவர்களாக வாழக்கூடாது. எனவேதான் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், "நீங்களெல்லாரும் வெளிச்சத்தின் பிள்ளைகளும், பகலின் பிள்ளைகளுமாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்; நாம் இரவுக்கும் இருளுக்கும் உள்ளானவர்களல்லவே. ஆகையால், மற்றவர்கள் தூங்குகிறதுபோல நாம் தூங்காமல், விழித்துக்கொண்டு தெளிந்தவர்களாய் இருக்கக்கடவோம்." (1 தெசலோனிக்கேயர் 5: 5, 6) என்கின்றார்.

கிறிஸ்துவை வாழ்வில் அறியாதவர்கள் இப்படி ஆவிக்குரிய தூக்கத்தில்தான் இருப்பார்கள். எனவே, நாம் அவர்கள் தூங்குகிறதுபோலத் தூங்காமல், விழித்துக்கொண்டு தெளிந்தவர்களாய் இருக்கக்கடவோம் என்கின்றார் பவுல். அப்படி தூங்காமல் விழித்திருக்கும்போதுதான் கிறிஸ்து நம்மை ஒளிர்விக்கமுடியும். 

ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை அறியாத மக்கள் இருளில் இருந்ததாகவும் கிறிஸ்து உலகினில் வந்தபோது அவர்கள் வெளிச்சத்தைக் கண்டதாகவும் நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம். "இருளில் இருக்கும் ஜனங்கள் பெரிய வெளிச்சத்தைக் கண்டார்கள்; மரண இருளின் திசையிலிருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சம் உதித்தது" (மத்தேயு 4:15) ஆம், இருளும், மரண இருளும் சூழ்ந்த மக்களை கிறிஸ்துவாகிய மெய்யான ஒளி ஒளிரச் செய்தது. ஆம், "உலகத்திலே வந்து எந்த மனுஷனையும் பிரகாசிப்பிக்கிற ஒளியே அந்த மெய்யான ஒளி." (யோவான் 1:9)

கிறிஸ்துவால் நாம் ஒளிர்வடைந்தவுடன் ஒரு மின்சார விளக்கைப்போலவோ, மெழுகுவர்த்தியைப்போலவோ ஒளிர்வோம் என்று பொருளல்ல, மாறாக நாம் நமது செயல்பாடுகளை மாற்றுவோம் என்று பொருள். கிறிஸ்துவை அறியாதபோது இருந்த துன்மார்க்க, கெட்ட குணங்கள் மாறி, நாம் மக்கள் முன்பு நல்லது செய்பவர்களாக  கிறிஸ்துவுக்குச் சான்றுபகரும் வாழ்க்கை வாழ்பவர்களாக மாறுவோம் என்று பொருள். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் கிறிஸ்துவைப்போல உலகிற்கு ஒளி கொடுப்பவர்களாக மாறவேண்டும் என்று தேவன் விரும்பகின்றார். அதற்கு முதலில் நாம் நமது ஆவிக்குரிய தூக்க நிலையிலிருந்து விழிக்கவேண்டும்; கிறிஸ்துவை அறியாத மரித்துப்போன மக்களைப்போல வாழாமல் அவர்களைவிட்டு எழுந்து வித்தியாசமானவர்களாகவேண்டும்.  அப்பொழுது கிறிஸ்து நம்மை  பிரகாசிப்பிப்பார்; நாமும் சாட்சியுள்ள வாழ்க்கை வாழ்பவர்களாவோம்.

“For this reason, it says, ‘Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.’” (Ephesians 5:14)

To live without any interest in spiritual life, without a desire to know God, and to feel satisfied merely by participating in empty ritualistic forms of worship is comparable to being asleep. Not only that—it is nothing less than death in the spiritual life.

Today, many people in the world live without any desire to know God or to seek Him. They participate in worship services only to meet their worldly needs, offer prayers for their own purposes, and live with a sense of satisfaction because of that alone. Therefore, there is no light at all in their hearts. The Bible describes such people as those who are asleep—or even dead.

Those of us who say that we worship Christ should not live as people who have lost their light. That is why the apostle Paul says, “For you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do but let us be alert and sober.” (1 Thessalonians 5:5–6)

Those who do not know Christ in their lives remain in this kind of spiritual sleep. Therefore, Paul exhorts us not to sleep as others do, but to be alert and sober. Only when we remain awake in this way can Christ shine upon us.

We read that people who did not know the Lord Jesus Christ were living in darkness, and that when Christ came into the world, they saw the light: “The people who were sitting in darkness saw a great Light, and those who were sitting in the land and shadow of death, Upon them a Light dawned.” (Matthew 4:16)

Yes, Christ—the true Light—shone upon people who were surrounded by darkness and the shadow of death. Indeed, “There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.” (John 1:9)

When we are illuminated by Christ, it does not mean that we will shine like an electric bulb or a candle. Rather, it means that our actions and way of life will be transformed. The wicked and sinful traits that characterized us before knowing Christ will change, and we will become people who do good before others, living lives that bear witness to Christ.

Yes, beloved, God desires that we become people who give light to the world, just as Christ does. For that to happen, we must first awaken from our spiritual sleep. We must rise up from among those who are spiritually dead and who do not know Christ and become distinct and different. Then Christ will shine upon us, and we too will live lives that bear true testimony.

🦋 Meditation verse - யோபு 16: 19 / Job 16:19

"விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1811                                             🔆 ஆதவன் 22.01.2026 வியாழன்    

"இப்போதும் இதோ, என் சாட்சி பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிறது எனக்குச் சாட்சி பகருகிறவர் உன்னதங்களில் இருக்கிறார்." ( யோபு 16: 19)

இந்த உலகத்தில் சில வேலைகளுக்கு நாம் விண்ணப்பிக்கும்போது சமூகத்தில் மதிப்புப்பெற்ற மனிதர்களிடமிருந்து நற்சான்று (Conduct Certificate) பெற்று நம்மை சமர்ப்பிக்கச்சொல்வார்கள். காரணம், வேலைக்குத் தேர்வு செய்யப்படும் நபர்கள் நல்லவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று அவர்கள் கருதுவதுதான். ஆனால், இந்த உலகத்தில் நமக்கு இப்படி நற்சான்று தரும் நபர்கள் பெரும்பாலும் நல்லவர்களாக இருப்பதில்லை. 

நமது தொகுதி மக்களவை உறுப்பினர் (M.P) அல்லது சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர் (M.L.A)  இவர்களிடம் நாம் சான்று பெறுகின்றோம். ஆனால் நமக்குச் சான்றளிக்கும் இவர்கள் பெரும்பாலும் நம்மைவிட நற்சாட்சி குறைந்தவர்களே. அதாவது, நல்ல சான்றுள்ள வாழ்க்கை வாழாத நபர்கள் நமக்கு நற்சான்று அளிக்கின்றார்கள்!!  

ஆனால், மனிதர்களது சான்றல்ல, தேவன் நம்மைக்குறித்து அளிக்கும் சான்றே முக்கியம். தேவன் அளிக்கும் சான்று உலக மனிதர்கள் அளிக்கும் சான்றுகளைப் போன்றதல்ல. யூதர்கள் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைக்குறித்துக்  குறைகூறியபோது அவர் அதுகுறித்துக்  கவலைப்படவில்லை. காரணம் அவர் மனிதர்களது சாட்சியையல்ல, பிதாவின் சாட்சியையே பெரிதாகக் கருதினார். 

"என்னை அனுப்பின பிதா தாமே என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சிகொடுத்திருக்கிறார்; நீங்கள் ஒருக்காலும் அவர் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டதுமில்லை, அவர் ரூபத்தைக் கண்டதுமில்லை."  

( யோவான் 5: 37) என்று அவர் யூதர்களுக்குத் தெளிவாகக் கூறினார்.     மேலும், "நான் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறவனாயிருக்கிறேன், என்னை அனுப்பின பிதாவும் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறார் என்றார்." ( யோவான் 8: 18)

இதுபோலவே, யோபுவைக்குறித்து அவரது நண்பர்கள் பல்வேறு பழிசுமத்தினர். அவற்றைக்கண்டு யோபு கலங்கவில்லை. எனவேதான், "என் சாட்சி பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிறது எனக்குச் சாட்சி பகருகிறவர் உன்னதங்களில் இருக்கிறார்" என்று அவர்  துணிவுடன் கூறுகின்றார். அதாவது, நீங்கள் என்னைக் குறித்துக் கூறுவதல்ல, என்னைக்குறித்து பரலோகம் கூறும் சான்றே எனக்குப் போதும் என்கின்றார் அவர். ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இத்தகைய மேலான சான்றுள்ள வாழ்க்கை வாழவே நாம் அழைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளோம்.  

இன்று நமது வாழ்கையினைக்குறித்து மனிதர்கள் பல்வேறுவிதமாகப் பேசலாம்; நமது ஆவிக்குரிய செயல்பாடுகளை அவர்கள் விமர்சிக்கலாம். ஆனால், நமக்குத் தேவை மனிதர்களது சாட்சியல்ல, மாறாக, பரலோகத்தில் நம்மைக்குறித்துக் கூறப்படும் சாட்சியே முக்கியம். இன்று பல கிறிஸ்தவ ஊழியர்களைக்குறித்து அவதூறான செய்திகள் வெளிவருவதுண்டு. அதுகுறித்து அவர்கள் வேதனையடைந்து சோர்ந்துபோவதுண்டு. சிலர் தங்களது நியாயத்தை எடுத்துக்காட்ட பல்வேறு சான்றுகளை அடுக்குவதுண்டு. ஆனால், நாமல்ல, நமது வாழ்கையினைக்குறித்து தேவன் சான்றளிக்கும்விதமாக நாம் வாழவேண்டியதே முக்கியம். அத்தகைய சான்றே மேலான சான்றாக அமையும். 

தேவனோடு நாம் ஐக்கியமாக வாழ்வோமானால் நம்மைக்குறித்துத் தேவன் என்னச் சான்று வைத்துள்ளார் என்பதனை நாமும் யோபுவைபோல  உணர்ந்துகொள்ளமுடியும். நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு இது முக்கியமானதாகும். அற்பமான மனிதர்கள் நமக்கு எதிராக  நிலைகுலையச்செய்யும் வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசும்போது நாம் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைப்போல, யோபுவைபோல தைரியமாக நிதானமாக இருக்கமுடியும். 

மேலும் அப்படிச் சான்றுள்ள வாழ்கையினைநாம்  வாழ்வோமானால் "அதனாலே நாம் தைரியங்கொண்டு: கர்த்தர் எனக்குச் சகாயர், நான் பயப்படேன், மனுஷன் எனக்கு என்னசெய்வான் என்று சொல்லலாமே." (எபிரெயர் 13:6) என்கின்றார் எபிரெய நிருப ஆசிரியர். ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே,                    தேவனிடம் நற்சான்றுபெற்றிட நமது வாழ்க்கையினை அவர் மெச்சிக்கொள்ளும்விதத்தில் வாழ்வோம்.

📖 Bible Meditation No. 1811
🔆 AATHAVAN – Thursday, 22.01.2026

“Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, And my advocate is on high.” — Job 16:19

In this world, when we apply for certain jobs, we are often asked to submit a conduct certificate or recommendation from respected individuals in society. The reason is simple: those who select candidates want to ensure that the person appointed is of good character. However, in reality, many of those who issue such certificates are not necessarily people of good character themselves.

We may obtain certificates from our Members of Parliament (MPs) or Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). Yet, quite often, those who certify us may actually have a poorer testimony than we do. In other words, people who themselves do not live a commendable life end up giving certificates of good conduct to others!

But what truly matters is not the testimony given by human beings, but the testimony God gives concerning us. God’s testimony is not like the testimony of people in this world. When the Jews accused and criticized Jesus Christ, He was not troubled by it, because He did not value human testimony; rather, He esteemed the testimony of the Father above all.

Jesus clearly told the Jews:

“And the Father who sent Me, He has testified about Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form.” — John 5:37

And again, He said:

“Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from or where I am going… I am He who testifies about Myself, and the Father who sent Me testifies about Me.” — John 8:14, 18

In the same way, Job’s friends brought many accusations against him. Yet Job was not shaken by them. That is why he boldly declared, “My witness is in heaven, and my advocate is on high.” In essence, he was saying, “What you say about me does not matter; what heaven says about me is enough.” Yes, beloved, we too are called to live such a life that bears a higher testimony.

Today, people may speak in many ways about our lives; they may criticize our spiritual activities. But what we truly need is not the testimony of people, but the testimony spoken about us in heaven. In recent times, defamatory news about many Christian ministers often comes to light. Such reports cause pain and discouragement. Some try to defend themselves by presenting various evidences. But more important than defending ourselves is this: we must live in such a way that God Himself testifies about our lives. That testimony alone will stand as the supreme testimony.

When we live in fellowship with God, we too—like Job—can understand what testimony God holds concerning us. This is vital for the growth of our spiritual life. When insignificant people speak words meant to destabilize us, we can remain bold and calm, like Jesus Christ and like Job.

Moreover, if we live such a life of divine approval, the author of Hebrews declares:

“So that we confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?’” — Hebrews 13:6

Yes, beloved, let us live our lives in a manner that pleases God, so that we may receive a good testimony from Him.

🦋 Meditation verse - யோவான் 12: 42, 43 / John 12:42–43

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

📖 வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1810                                   🔆 ஆதவன் 21.01.2026 புதன்   

"ஆகிலும் அதிகாரிகளிலும் அநேகர் அவரிடத்தில் விசுவாசம்வைத்தார்கள். அப்படியிருந்தும் ஜெப ஆலயத்துக்குப் புறம்பாக்கப்படாதபடி, பரிசேயர்நிமித்தம் அதை அறிக்கைபண்ணாதிருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் தேவனால் வருகிற மகிமையிலும் மனுஷரால் வருகிற மகிமையை அதிகமாய் விரும்பினார்கள்." ( யோவான் 12: 42, 43)

தங்களது உள்ளத்தில் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசித்தாலும் அதனை வெளியில் சொன்னால் தங்களது வேலை போய்விடும் எனப்பயந்து அதனை வெளிப்படையாக ஒத்துக்கொள்ள விரும்பாத அதிகாரிகளைக்குறித்து இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம்.  காரணம் அவர்கள் தேவனால் வருகிற மகிமையிலும் மனுஷரால் வருகிற மகிமையை அதிகமாய் விரும்பினார்கள் என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

இன்றும் பல கிறிஸ்தவர்கள்,  மற்றும் கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசிக்கிறேன் என்று கூறிக்கொள்பவர்கள், கிறிஸ்தவ மார்க்கத்தைத் தழுவியவர்கள் சிலர் அரசாங்கச்  சலுகைகளுக்காக, பதவிகளுக்காக, தங்களை கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் என்று வெளிப்டையாகக்  கூறிக்கொள்ளத் தயங்குவதுண்டு. பிற மார்க்கங்களிலிருந்து கிறிஸ்துவை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு விசுவாசிகளானவர்கள் தாங்கள் முன்பிருந்த மார்க்கத்தில் அனுபவித்த சலுகைகள் பறிபோய்விடுமென்று சலுகைகள் பெற விண்ணப்பிக்கும்போது தாங்கள் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் என்பதனை வெளிப்படுத்துவதில்லை.  தங்களது பழைய சான்றிதழ்களையே இணைத்து அரசாங்கச்  சலுகைகளைப்பெற விண்ணப்பிக்கின்றனர். 

தமிழ்நாட்டில் கிறிஸ்தவ மார்க்கத்துக்கு மாறிய ஒரு பெண் அதனை மறைத்து பஞ்சாயத்துத் தலைமை பொறுப்புக்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுப், பின்னர் எதிர்க்கட்சியினர் அதனை ஆதாரபூர்வமாக நிரூபித்ததால் நீதிமன்றத்தால் பதவிநீக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டச் செய்தி  சமீபத்தில் பத்திரிகைகளில் வெளியானது.  ஆம், இவர்கள் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் கூறியுள்ள இயேசுவின் காலத்தில் விசுவாசிகளான அதிகாரிகளைப்போல தேவனால் வருகிற மகிமையிலும் மனுஷரால் வருகிற மகிமையை அதிகமாய் விரும்புகிறவர்கள். 

நாம் கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசிக்கின்றோம் என்று கூறிக்கொண்டு அதனை வெளிப்படையாக அறிவிப்பதற்கு வெட்கப்பட்டோமென்றால் அதனால் என்ன பயன்? "என் சகோதரரே, ஒருவன் தனக்கு விசுவாசமுண்டென்று சொல்லியும், கிரியைகளில்லாதவனானால் அவனுக்குப் பிரயோஜனமென்ன? அந்த விசுவாசம் அவனை இரட்சிக்குமா?" (யாக்கோபு 2:14)  எனக் கேள்வியெழுப்புகின்றார் யாக்கோபு. 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, மிகப்பெரிய விசுவாச காரியங்களை நாம் செய்யவில்லையானாலும் கிறிஸ்துவை நாம் விசுவாசிப்பதை  வெளிப்படையாக அறிவிக்கவாவது முடியாதா? கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக மாறியதால் பலர் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர், பல்வேறு துன்பங்களை அனுபவித்துள்ளனர். "வேறு சிலர் நிந்தைகளையும் அடிகளையும் கட்டுகளையும் காவலையும் அநுபவித்தார்கள்; கல்லெறியுண்டார்கள், வாளால் அறுப்புண்டார்கள், பரீட்சைபார்க்கப்பட்டார்கள், பட்டயத்தினாலே வெட்டப்பட்டு மரித்தார்கள், செம்மறியாட்டுத் தோல்களையும் வெள்ளாட்டுத் தோல்களையும் போர்த்துக்கொண்டு திரிந்து, குறைவையும் உபத்திரவத்தையும் துன்பத்தையும் அநுபவித்தார்கள்" ( எபிரெயர் 11: 36, 37) 

ஆனால் நமக்கு அத்தகைய பயமுறுத்தல்கள் எதுவும் இல்லை. இப்படியிருக்க, வெறும் உலக நன்மைகளுக்காக கிறிஸ்துவை மறுதலிப்பது அவமானமல்லவா? "வீணான மனுஷனே, கிரியைகளில்லாத விசுவாசம் செத்ததென்று நீ அறியவேண்டுமோ? நம்முடைய பிதாவாகிய ஆபிரகாம் தன் குமாரன் ஈசாக்கைப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் செலுத்தினபோது, கிரியைகளினாலே அல்லவோ நீதிமானாக்கப்பட்டான்?" ( யாக்கோபு 2: 20, 21)

மனிதரால் வரும் மகிமையை விரும்பி கிறிஸ்துவை மறுதலிப்போமானால் நாம் பரிதபிக்கக்கூடியவர்களாகவே இருப்போம். "என் தேவன் எனது தேவைகளை நிறைவாக்குவார்; மனிதர்களது தயவை நம்பி நான் உலகினில் இல்லை" என்று உறுதியான விசுவாசம் நமக்கு இருக்குமானால் மனுஷரால் வருகிற மகிமைக்காக தேவனை மறுதலிக்கமாட்டோம்.

📖Bible Meditation No. 1810                                    🔆 AATHAVAN – Wednesday, 21.01.2026

“Nevertheless, many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.” (John 12:42–43)

In today’s meditation verse, we read about certain rulers who believed in Jesus Christ in their hearts, yet were unwilling to confess Him openly because they feared losing their positions and status. The reason is clearly stated: they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.

Even today, there are many Christians and those who claim to believe in Christ who hesitate to openly confess their Christian faith. Some do so for the sake of government benefits, official positions, or social advantages. There are also those who have accepted Christ after coming from other religions; when applying for government concessions, they fear losing the benefits they once enjoyed and therefore do not disclose that they are Christians. Instead, they attach their old certificates and apply for benefits without revealing their faith in Christ.

Recently, newspapers reported an incident in Tamil Nadu where a woman who had converted to Christianity concealed her faith, was elected as a Panchayat President, and later—when her conversion was proven with evidence by opposition members—was removed from office by a court order. Yes, such people are just like the rulers mentioned in today’s meditation verse during the time of Jesus—those who preferred human glory over the glory that comes from God.

What benefit is there if we say that we believe in Christ but are ashamed to declare it openly? James raises this searching question:

“What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?” (James 2:14)

Yes, beloved, even if we are unable to do great acts of faith, are we not at least able to openly declare that we believe in Christ? Many have been killed for becoming Christians; many have endured severe suffering. The Scriptures testify:

“And others experienced mockings and scourgings, yes, also chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated.” (Hebrews 11:36–37)

But we face no such threats today. In such a situation, is it not shameful to deny Christ merely for the sake of worldly benefits?

“But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?” (James 2:20–21)

If we deny Christ because we desire the glory that comes from men, we will indeed be pitiable. If we possess a firm faith that says, “My God will supply all my needs; I do not live in this world depending on human favour,” then we will never deny God for the sake of human approval.

🦋 Meditation verse எரேமியா 2: 32 / Jeremiah 2:32

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

📖 வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1809                                    🔆 ஆதவன் 20.01.2026 செவ்வாய்  

"ஒரு பெண் தன் ஆபரணத்தையும், ஒரு மணவாட்டி தன் ஆடைகளையும் மறப்பாளோ? என் ஜனங்களோ எண்ணிமுடியாத நாட்களாய் என்னை மறந்துவிட்டார்கள்." ( எரேமியா 2: 32)

வாழ்க்கையில் நமக்கும்  நமது குடும்பத்திலும்  சம்பவிக்கும் முக்கியமான நிகழ்வுகள் பல உண்டு. அப்படிப்பட்ட வேளைகளில் நாம் அந்த நாளுக்காக பல நாட்களுக்குமுன்பிருந்தே ஆயத்தங்களைச்  செய்ய ஆரம்பித்துவிடுவோம். அந்த நாளையும் அந்த நாளுக்கான செயல்பாடுகளையும் நாம் மறப்பதில்லை. காரணம் நாம் அந்த நாளுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கின்றோம் என்று பொருள். 

நமது குடும்பத்தில் ஒரு திருமணம் ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ளோம் என்று வைத்துக்கொள்வோம். திருமண ஏற்பாடுகளை ஒரு சில மாதங்களுக்குமுன்னேயே நாம் ஆரம்பித்துவிடுவோம். மட்டுமல்ல, பல்வேறு தங்க நகைகளையும், புதிய ஆடைகளையும் வாங்கி தயாராக இருப்போம். அப்படி எதிர்பார்த்திருந்த  திருமண நாள் வரும்போது மணப்பெண் தனது நகைகளை அணிய மறப்பாளா? திருமணத்துக்காக பல ஆயிரம் பணம்கொடுத்து வாங்கிவைத்துள்ள ஆடைகளை அணிய மறப்பாளா? மறக்கமாட்டாள் அல்லவா? காரணம் அந்த நாள் அவளது வாழ்க்கையில் முக்கியமான நாள். 

தேவன்மேல் இதேவித ஆர்வமும் ஆசையும் நமக்கு இருக்குமானால் நாம் அவரை மறக்கமாட்டோம். தேவன் நாம் அவரை அன்புசெய்து அவரையே எண்ணி வாழவேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகின்றார். இந்த உலகத்தில் காதலிக்கும் இருவரில் முதலில் யாராவது ஒருவர்தான் தனது காதலை மற்றவருக்கு வெளிப்படுத்துவார்கள்  (Propose). அதன்பின்னர் மற்றவரும் அவரைக் காதலிப்பார். இதுபோல, தேவன்தான் நம்மை முதலில் அன்பு செய்துள்ளார்; அதன்பின்னரே நாம் அவரை அன்புச் செய்கின்றோம். "அவர் முந்தி நம்மிடத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்தபடியால் நாமும் அவரிடத்தில் அன்புகூருகிறோம்." (1 யோவான்  4 : 19) என்கின்றார் இயேசுவின் அன்புச் சீடனான யோவான். 

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் தேவன் வேதனையுடன் கூறும் வார்த்தைகளாகும்.  நான் எவ்வளவு அன்புடன் இந்த மக்களை நேசித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றேன், ஆனால் அவர்கள் பலநாட்களாக என்னை மறந்துவிட்டார்கள் என்கின்றார்.  நாம் அவரை உண்மையாக நேசிப்போமென்றால் அவரது கட்டளைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவோம். இந்த உலகத்திலும்கூட நாம் ஒருவரிடம் அன்புள்ளவர்களாக இருப்போமென்றால் அவர் சொல்வதைக் கேட்போமல்லவா? ஆம்,  "நாம் தேவனுடைய கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்வதே அவரிடத்தில் அன்புகூருவதாம்; அவருடைய கற்பனைகள் பாரமானவைகளுமல்ல." (1 யோவான்  5 : 3)

இதற்கு, குறிப்பிட்ட நேரத்தில்மட்டும் தேவனது தேவையை உணர்ந்து அவரிடம் ஜெபிக்காமல் முதலில் தேவனிடம் நாம் ஐக்கியமுள்ளவர்களாக வாழவேண்டியது அவசியம். அதற்கு நாம் அவரை வாழ்வில் மறக்காமல் இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். அப்படி மறக்காமல் வாழ்வோமானால் அவரது கற்பனைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவோம்.

இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் தேவன் தனது ஜனங்கள் ஒன்றிரெண்டு நாட்கள் மட்டுமல்ல, "எண்ணிமுடியாத நாட்களாய் என்னை மறந்துவிட்டார்கள்" என்று வேதனைப்படுகின்றார். ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இன்று நம்மில் சிலருக்கு அறுபது அல்லது அறுபத்தைந்து அல்லது எழுபத்தைந்து வயதாகக் கூடஇருக்கலாம். ஆனால்,  இத்தனை ஆண்டுகளாகப்  பலரும் தேவனை அறியாமல்தான் வாழ்ந்துகொண்டு இருக்கின்றார்கள். ஆனால்  தேவன் அவர்களை அன்புசெய்வதால் அவர்களையும் உலகில் பல நன்மைகளைக்கொடுத்து வாழவைத்துள்ளார். 

எனவே அன்பானவர்களே, தேவனை அறியும் ஆர்வத்துடன் நமது பாவங்களை அவரிடம் அறிக்கையிட்டு அவரிடம் திரும்புவோம். வெறும் ஆராதனைக் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக அல்ல; தேவனைத் தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் அறிந்த ஆவிக்குரிய மக்களாக மாறுவோம்.

“Can a virgin forget her ornaments, Or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me For days without number.” — Jeremiah 2:32

In life, there are many important events that take place in our personal and family settings. When such occasions arise, we begin our preparations many days—even months—in advance. We never forget that particular day or the activities connected with it, because we give great importance to it.

Let us assume there is a wedding being arranged in our family. Preparations usually begin several months ahead of time. Not only that, gold ornaments and new clothes are purchased and kept ready. When the long-awaited wedding day finally arrives, will the bride forget to wear her jewellery? Will she forget to wear the clothes that were bought at great cost specifically for the wedding? Of course not. Why? Because that day is one of the most important days of her life.

If we have the same kind of passion, desire, and eagerness toward God, we will never forget Him. God desires that we love Him and live our lives thinking of Him alone.

Even in this world, when two people fall in love, usually one person first expresses that love (proposes), and then the other responds with love. In the same way, it is God who loved us first; only then do we love Him in return. As John, the beloved disciple of Jesus, says:

“We love, because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

Today’s meditation verse is a sorrowful cry from God’s heart. He says, “I have loved these people so deeply, yet for countless days they have forgotten Me.”

If we truly love God, we will obey His commandments. Even in this world, if we love someone, do we not listen to what they say? Yes indeed.

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.” — 1 John 5:3

Therefore, it is not enough to approach God only at specific times or pray to Him only when we feel a need. First and foremost, it is essential that we live in constant fellowship with God. For that to happen, we must not forget Him in our daily lives. When we live without forgetting Him, obedience to His commandments will naturally follow.

In today’s meditation verse, God laments that His people have not forgotten Him for just one or two days, but “for days without number.” Yes, beloved, today some among us may be sixty, sixty-five, or even seventy-five years old. Yet for all these years, many have lived without truly knowing God. Still, because God loves them, He has sustained them and blessed them with many good things in this world.

Therefore, beloved, let us turn back to God with a genuine desire to know Him, confessing our sins before Him. Let us not remain mere ritualistic or nominal Christians but become spiritually transformed people who know God personally.
