📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1868

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 20, வெள்ளி           

"என் கருவை உம்முடைய கண்கள் கண்டன; என் அவயவங்களில் ஒன்றாகிலும் இல்லாதபோதே அவைகள் அனைத்தும், அவைகள் உருவேற்படும் நாட்களும், உமது புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருந்தன."( சங்கீதம் 139: 16)

நாம் உலகினில் இல்லாமல் இருக்கும்போதே நம்மை அறிந்தவர் தேவன். அவரது திட்டபடியே நாம் தாயிடம் உருவானோம். இன்று தாயின் வயிற்றில் குழந்தை உருவாகியவுடனேயே மருத்துவர்கள் பல்வேறு முறை ஸ்கேன் (Scan) செய்து  குழந்தையின் வளர்ச்சியைக் கண்காணிக்கின்றனர். குழந்தைகளின் உடல் உறுப்புக்கள் சரியாக வளர்ச்சியடைந்துள்ளனவா என்று பார்க்கின்றனர். சிலவேளைகளில் அப்படி சோதனை செய்து பார்த்துவிட்டு உடல் உறுப்புகள் குறைபாடுள்ளதாக இருந்தால் கருவைக் கலைத்துவிட சிபாரிசு செய்கின்றனர். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, நாம் இந்த உலகினில் தற்செயலாக உண்டாகிவிடவில்லை. நம் ஒவ்வொருவரும் எங்கு பிறக்கவேண்டும், யாருக்குப் பிள்ளைகளாகப்  பிறக்கவேண்டும், எப்படிப்பட்ட உருவம், நிறம்  உள்ளவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்பன தேவனால் ஏற்கெனவே திட்டமிடப்பட்ட ஒன்றாகும். 

இந்தஉலகினில் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் மனதினில் தங்கள் உருவத்தைக்குறித்த ஏதாவது ஒரு குறை இருக்கும். "நான் இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் வெண்மையாகப் பிறந்திருக்கலாம்", "இன்னும் நான் சற்று உயரமாக இருந்திருந்தால் நல்லதாக இருக்கும்", "எனது தலைமுடி பட்டுப்போல நீளமாக  இருந்திருந்தால் நல்லதாக இருக்கும்" அல்லது, "எனது தலைமுடி சுருளாக இருந்தால் அழகாக இருந்திருக்கும்" இப்படிப் பல எண்ணங்கள் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால் இன்றைய வசனம் கூறுகின்றது, "என் அவயவங்களில் ஒன்றாகிலும் இல்லாதபோதே அவைகள் அனைத்தும், அவைகள் உருவேற்படும் நாட்களும், உமது புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருந்தன" என்று. ஆம் அவை ஏற்கெனவே தேவனால் திட்டமிடப்பட்டவை. 

இதுபோலச்  சிலர் பிறவியிலேயே சில குறைபாடுகளோடு பிறக்கின்றனர். ஆம், ஏதோ நோக்கத்துக்காக தேவன் அவர்களை அப்படிப் பிறக்கச் செய்திருக்கலாம்; அது நமக்குத் தெரியாது. எனவேதான், "மண்ணோடுகளுக்கொத்த ஓடாயிருந்தும், தன்னை உருவாக்கினவரோடே வழக்காடுகிறவனுக்கு ஐயோ! களிமண் தன்னை உருவாக்கினவனை நோக்கி: என்ன செய்கிறாயென்று சொல்லத்தகுமோ? உன் கிரியையானது: அவருக்குக் கைகள் இல்லையென்று சொல்லலாமோ?" ( ஏசாயா 45: 9) என்று வசனம் கூறுகின்றது.

ஆனால், தேவன் நம்மை எப்படிப் படைத்திருந்தாலும் நாம் அவருக்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தமாய் நமது உடலைப் பேணவேண்டியது அவசியமாய் இருக்கின்றது. காரணம், தேவன் தனது சாயலாக மனிதர்களை உருவாக்கியுள்ளார். "உங்கள் சரீரமானது நீங்கள் தேவனாலே பெற்றும் உங்களில் தங்கியும் இருக்கிற பரிசுத்த ஆவியினுடைய ஆலயமாயிருக்கிறதென்றும், நீங்கள் உங்களுடையவர்களல்லவென்றும் அறியீர்களா?" (1 கொரிந்தியர் 6: 19) ஆம், நமது உடலை நாம் தேவனிடமிருந்து பெற்றுள்ளோம். எனவே அதனை அவரது ஆலயமாகப் பாதுகாக்கவேண்டியது நமது கடமை. 

நாம் எந்த உருவத்தில் இருந்தாலும் நாம் அவருக்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தர்களாக வாழ்கின்றோமா என்பதுதான் முக்கியம். உடல் அழகோ, நமது உலகச் செழிப்போ தேவனுக்கு முக்கியமல்ல. நாம் கருவாக இருக்கும்போதே நம்மை அறிந்து நம்மை உருவாக்கியவர் அவர். அவர் தான் உருவாக்கிய உடலை மனிதன் எப்படி இறுதிவரைப் பாதுகாத்தான் என்றுதான் பார்க்கின்றார். 

சிலர் மற்றவர்களோடு தங்களைப் பலவிதங்களில் ஒப்பிட்டுப் பார்த்து அவர்களைப்போல பொருளாதாரத்திலும் அந்தஸ்திலும் நாம் இல்லையே என்று ஏங்குவதுண்டு. சிலர் வெளிப்படையாகவே தங்களது பெற்றோரிடம், "என்னை நல்ல நிலையில் வைக்கமுடியவில்லையென்றால் ஏன் என்னைப் பெற்றீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்பதும் உண்டு.  இப்படிக் கேட்பது சாபத்துக்கு நம்மை இட்டுச்செல்லும். காரணம், இப்படிப் பேசும்போது  நாம் தேவனது திட்டத்துக்கு எதிராகச் செயல்படுகின்றோம் என்று பொருள். 

எனவேதான் ஏசாயா மூலம் தேவன் கூறுகின்றார், "தகப்பனை நோக்கி: ஏன் ஜநிப்பித்தாய் என்றும், தாயை நோக்கி: ஏன் பெற்றாய் என்றும் சொல்லுகிறவனுக்கு ஐயோ!" ( ஏசாயா 45: 10) நாம் கருவாக இருக்கும்போதே நம்மைக் கண்ட தேவன் நம்மைக் கைவிடமாட்டார். அந்த விசுவாசத்தோடு வாழ்வைத் தொடருவோம்; அவர் நமக்குத் தந்த உடலை அவருக்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தமாகப் பாதுகாத்திடுவோம்.

📖AATHAVAN Bible Meditation – No. 1868            🔆 Friday, March 20, 2026

"Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them." (Psalm 139:16)

God knew us even before we existed in this world. It was according to His divine plan that we were formed in our mother's womb. Today, as soon as a child is conceived, doctors perform various scans to monitor the baby's growth and check if the limbs and organs are developing correctly. Sometimes, if they detect any defects or abnormalities, they recommend terminating the pregnancy.

Dearly beloved, we did not come into this world by chance. Where we should be born, to whom we should be born, and what our appearance and complexion should be—all of these were pre-planned by God.

In this world, almost everyone has some insecurity or dissatisfaction regarding their physical appearance. We might think, "I wish I were a bit fairer," "It would be better if I were taller," "I wish my hair were long and silky," or "It would be beautiful if my hair were curly." But today’s scripture reminds us: “And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.” Yes, every detail was already planned by God.

Similarly, some are born with certain disabilities or infirmities from birth. God may have allowed them to be born that way for a specific purpose known only to Him. That is why the Scripture says: "Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker—An earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth! Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’ Or the thing you are making say, ‘He has no hands’?" (Isaiah 45:9)

Regardless of how God has created us, it is essential that we maintain our bodies in holiness, acceptable to Him. This is because God created man in His own image. "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?" (1 Corinthians 6:19) We have received our bodies from God; therefore, it is our duty to protect them as His temple.

Our physical appearance or worldly prosperity is not what matters most to God; what matters is whether we are living as holy people pleasing to Him. He is the one who knew us and formed us while we were yet a substance in the womb. He watches how a human being preserves the body He created until the very end.

Some people constantly compare themselves with others and long for the financial status or social standing that others possess. Some even confront their parents, asking, "If you couldn't provide me with a good life, why did you give birth to me?" Such questioning leads us toward a curse because, in doing so, we are acting against God’s divine plan.

This is why God says through Isaiah: "Woe to him who says to a father, 'What are you begetting?' Or to a woman, 'To what are you giving birth?'" (Isaiah 45:10)

The God who saw us while we were still in the womb will never forsake us. Let us continue our lives with that faith, and let us preserve the body He has given us in holiness, acceptable to Him.

🦋 Meditation verse - நெகேமியா 8: 11,12 / Nehemiah 8:11-12

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 19, வியாழன்          

"லேவியரும் ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் அமர்த்தி: அழாதிருங்கள், இந்த நாள் பரிசுத்தமான நாள், விசாரப்படவேண்டாம் என்றார்கள். அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் தங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளை உணர்ந்துகொண்டபடியால், புசித்துக் குடிக்கவும், பங்குகளை அனுப்பவும், மிகுந்த சந்தோஷம் கொண்டாடவும் போனார்கள்." (நெகேமியா 8: 11,12)

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் பாவ மன்னிப்பை பெற்றுக்கொண்ட இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களைப்பற்றி கூறுகின்றது.  பாபிலோனின் அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையான இஸ்ரவேலர் எருசலேம் நகரின் மதில் சுவரைப் பல்வேறு தடைகளுக்குப்பின் கட்டிமுடிந்தனர். அனைத்து வேலைகளும் முடிவடைந்த நிலையில் தேவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தும்படி அனைவரும் ஒன்றுகூடினர். நெகேமியாவும், வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியனும், லேவியர்களும் "தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணப் புஸ்தகத்தை தீர்க்கமாக வாசித்து, அர்த்தஞ்சொல்லி, வாசித்ததை அவர்களுக்கு விளங்கப்பண்ணினார்கள்." (நெகேமியா 8: 8)

அடிமைத்தனத்தின் துன்பங்களை அனுபவித்திருந்த அந்த மக்களுக்குத் தங்களுக்கு விடுதலையளித்த தேவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவது முக்கியமான காரியமாக இருந்தது. தங்களது பாவங்களே தங்களது அடிமைத்தனத்துக்கு மூல காரணம் என்பதனை அவர்கள் உணர்த்துகொண்டனர். எனவே அவர்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணம் வாசிக்கப்பட்டபோது தங்களது மனம் வருத்தப்பட்டு அழுதனர். 

"ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது, அழுதபடியால், திர்ஷாதா என்னப்பட்ட நெகேமியாவும், வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியனும், ஜனங்களுக்கு விளக்கிக்காட்டின லேவியரும் சகல ஜனங்களையும் நோக்கி: இந்த நாள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமான நாள்; நீங்கள் துக்கப்படவும் அழவும் வேண்டாம் என்றார்கள்". (நெகேமியா 8: 9)

"லேவியரும் ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் அமர்த்தி: அழாதிருங்கள், இந்த நாள் பரிசுத்தமான நாள், விசாரப்படவேண்டாம் என்றார்கள்". (நெகேமியா 8: 11)

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இது என்றோ நடந்த சம்பவம் மட்டுமல்ல, இன்றும் பாவ உணர்வடையும் ஒவ்வொரு கிறிஸ்தவரும் அனுபவிக்கும் மீட்பு அனுபவமாகும்.  நமது பாவங்களை நாம் உணர்த்து அறிக்கையிட்டு நமக்குள் மாற்றம் ஏற்படுத்துவதை நாம் உணர்ந்துகொள்ளும்போது நமக்குள் அழுகை ஏற்படுகின்றது. மனமகிழ்சி உண்டாகின்றது. அன்று இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் பாவ உணர்வடைந்து அழுதபோது, அழாதிருங்கள் இந்த நாள் பரிசுத்தமான நாள், விசாரப்படவேண்டாம் என்று லேவியர்கள்  மக்களை உற்சாகமூட்டினார்கள். 

இதுபோலவே பவுலும் சீலாவும் சிறைச்சாலையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டு அதிசயமாக தேவனால் விடுவிக்கப்பட்டபோது சிறைச்சாலை அதிகாரி அவர்களைத் தனது வீட்டிற்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போனான். பவுலும் சீலாவும், "அவனுக்கும் அவன் வீட்டிலிருந்த யாவருக்கும் கர்த்தருடைய வசனத்தைப் போதித்தார்கள். மேலும் இராத்திரியில் அந்நேரத்திலேதானே அவன் அவர்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களுடைய காயங்களைக் கழுவினான். அவனும் அவனுடையவர்கள் அனைவரும் உடனே ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்றார்கள்.   (அப்போஸ்தலர் நடப்படிகள்  16: 32, 33)

"பின்பு அவன் அவர்களைத் தன் வீட்டிற்குக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களுக்கு போஜனங்கொடுத்து, தன் வீட்டார் அனைவரோடுங்கூட தேவனிடத்தில் விசுவாசமுள்ளவனாகி மனமகிழ்ச்சியாய் இருந்தான்"  (அப்போஸ்தலர் நடப்படிகள்  16: 34) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

வேதவசனங்களை நாம் கேட்கும்போது தேவனுக்கேற்ற துக்கம் உண்டாகுமானால் நாம் இரட்சிப்பு அடைவது உறுதி. அந்தத் துக்கம் நமக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியையே உண்டாக்கும்.  "தேவனுக்கேற்ற துக்கம் பின்பு மனஸ்தாபப்படுகிறதற்கு இடமில்லாமல் இரட்சிப்புக்கேதுவான மனந்திரும்புதலை உண்டாக்குகிறது; லெளகிக துக்கமோ மரணத்தை உண்டாக்குகிறது." (2 கொரிந்தியர் 7: 10) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

வேத வார்த்தைகள் என்றைக்காவது உங்கள் உள்ளத்தில் பாவ உணர்வைத் தூண்டியுள்ளனவா? நான் இப்படிப்பட்டவனாக இருந்திருக்கிறேனே என என்றாவது நீங்கள் எண்ணிப்பார்த்ததுண்டா? அன்று இப்படி எண்ணியதால்தான் இஸ்ரவேலர் வேத வசனங்களைக் கேட்டு அழுதார்கள்; பவுல் கூறிய வேத வசனங்களைக்கேட்டு சிறைச்சாலை அதிகாரி மனம்திரும்பினான். ஆம், வேத வசனங்களை உலக ஆசீர்வாதம் பெறுவதற்காக வாசிக்காமல், நமது ஆத்தும அழுக்கை நீக்கும் வார்த்தைகளாக விசுவாசித்து வாசித்து ஏற்றுக்கொள்வோமானால் பாவ உணர்வடைவோம்; அப்போது மீட்படைவோம்.

"So the Levites calmed all the people, saying, 'Be still, for the day is holy; do not be grieved.' Then all the people went away to eat, to drink, to send portions and to celebrate a great festival, because they understood the words which had been made known to them." (Nehemiah 8:11-12)

Today’s meditation verse speaks about the people of Israel receiving forgiveness for their sins. After returning from Babylonian captivity, the Israelites completed the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem despite many obstacles. Once the work was finished, they gathered together to give thanks to God. Nehemiah, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites "read from the book, from the law of God, interpreting they gave the sense so that they understood the reading." (Nehemiah 8:8)

For those who had endured the miseries of slavery, offering thanks to the God who delivered them was of utmost importance. They realized that their own sins were the root cause of their captivity. Therefore, as the Law was read, their hearts were moved to sorrow and they wept.

"Then Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, 'This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.' For all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the law." (Nehemiah 8:9)

"So, the Levites calmed all the people, saying, 'Be still, for the day is holy; do not be grieved.'" (Nehemiah 8:11)

Yes, dearly beloved, this is not just an event that happened long ago; it is the experience of redemption that every Christian undergoes today when they come to a conviction of sin. When we recognize and confess our sins, and realize the transformation happening within us, it often brings us to tears. Yet, it also brings deep joy. Just as the Levites encouraged the weeping Israelites by saying, "Do not weep, for this day is holy; do not be grieved," God comforts us.

Similarly, when Paul and Silas were imprisoned and miraculously released by God, the jailer took them to his home. Paul and Silas "spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house. And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household." (Acts 16:32-33)

We further read: "And he brought them into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, having believed in God with his whole household." (Acts 16:34)

If "godly sorrow" arises within us when we hear the Word of God, our salvation is certain. That sorrow ultimately produces joy. As it is written: "For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death." (2 Corinthians 7:10)

Have the words of Scripture ever stirred a sense of sin within your heart? Have you ever reflected and thought, “Was I really such a person?” It was because they felt this way that the Israelites wept when they heard the words of Scripture; and the jailer repented when he heard the words spoken by Paul. Yes, if we read the Scriptures not merely to receive worldly blessings but believe and accept them as words that cleanse the impurity of our soul, we will become conscious of our sin; and then we will receive salvation.

🦋 Meditation verse - யாக்கோபு 1: 14, 15 / James 1:14-15

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳

📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1866

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 18, புதன்         

"அவனவன் தன்தன் சுய இச்சையினாலே இழுக்கப்பட்டு, சிக்குண்டு, சோதிக்கப்படுகிறான். பின்பு இச்சையானது கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, பாவத்தைப் பிறப்பிக்கும், பாவம் பூரணமாகும்போது, மரணத்தைப் பிறப்பிக்கும்." ( யாக்கோபு 1: 14, 15)

பத்துக்கட்டளைகளின் இறுதிக் கட்டளை இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக என்பது. அடுத்தவர்களது பொருட்கள்மேல்; மனிதர்கள்மேல்  அளவுக்கதிகமாக ஆசைப்படுவதே இச்சை. அல்லது, தனக்கு உடமை இல்லாத பொருள்மேல் ஆசைகொண்டு மனதளவில் அதனை விரும்புவது இச்சை என்று கூறலாம். பொதுவாக அனைத்துப் பாவங்களுக்கும் அடிப்படையானது இச்சையே. உலகின் முதல் பாவமும் இச்சையினால்தான் உலகினில் வந்தது.

"அப்பொழுது ஸ்திரீயானவள், அந்த விருட்சம் புசிப்புக்கு நல்லதும், பார்வைக்கு இன்பமும், புத்தியைத் தெளிவிக்கிறதற்கு இச்சிக்கப்படத்தக்க விருட்சமுமாய் இருக்கிறது என்று கண்டு, அதின் கனியைப் பறித்து, புசித்து, தன் புருஷனுக்கும் கொடுத்தாள்; அவனும் புசித்தான்." ( ஆதியாகமம் 3: 6) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். இன்றைய தியான வசனம் இதனையேத் தெளிவுபடுத்துகின்றது. 

நமக்கு உரிமையில்லாத ஒன்றின்மேல் நாம் ஆசைக்கொள்வது கூடப் பாவம்தான். பலர் அப்படி ஆசைகொண்டு அதனை நிறைவேற்றிட மனம்முழுவதும் எண்ணம்கொண்டிருந்தாலும் சமூகத்துக்குப் பயந்தும், அதனை நிறைவேற்றிட வாய்ப்பு இல்லாததாலும் உலகத்துக்கு நல்லவர்களாக இருக்கின்றனர். எனவேதான், ஆண்டவர் இயேசு, "நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை இச்சையோடுபார்க்கிற எவனும் தன் இருதயத்தில் அவளோடே விபசாரஞ்செய்தாயிற்று." ( மத்தேயு 5: 28) என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

இப்படி இச்சையானது நம்மைப் பாவத்துக்கு நேராக இழுத்துச் செல்கின்றது. பெண்ணாசை எனும் இச்சையில் விழுந்த தாவீது உரியாவின் மனைவியை அடைவதற்காக அவனைக் கொலைசெய்தார்; பாவத்தில் விழுந்தார்.  நாபோத்துக்குச் சொந்தமான திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்தின்மேல் ஆகாப் இராஜா இச்சைகொண்டதால் மனைவி யேசபேலின் ஆலோசனையின்படி நாபோத்தைக் கொன்றான் (1 இராஜாக்கள் 21).  அதுபோல, முப்பது வெள்ளிக்காசின்மேல் ஆசைப்பட்ட யூதாஸ் நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைக் காட்டிக்கொடுத்தான்; தற்கொலைசெய்து மாண்டான். 

இதனால்தான் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் அப்போஸ்தலரான யாக்கோபு, "இச்சையானது கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, பாவத்தைப் பிறப்பிக்கும், பாவம் பூரணமாகும்போது, மரணத்தைப் பிறப்பிக்கும்" என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இச்சை எனும் பாவத்தில் இருந்து மனித முயற்சியால் யாரும் எளிதில் விடுபடமுடியாது. ஆவியானவர் நமக்குள் இருந்து இயக்கும்போது மட்டுமே நாம் ஆவிக்கேற்ற மனிதர்களாக மாறமுடியும்; இத்தகைய இச்சையைகளிலிருந்து விடுபடமுடியும். பத்துக் கட்டளை உட்பட எந்தக் கட்டளையும் எது பாவம் என்று மட்டும் நமக்குக் கற்பிக்கும் ஆனால் அவைகளிலிருந்த்து விடுவிக்காது. எனவேதான் "......பாவம் இன்னதென்று நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினால் நான் அறிந்தேனேயன்றி மற்றப்படி அறியவில்லை; இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக என்று நியாயப்பிரமாணம் சொல்லாதிருந்தால், இச்சை பாவம் என்று நான் அறியாமலிருப்பேனே." ( ரோமர் 7: 7) என்கின்றார் பவுல். 

ஆனால், அந்த நியாயப்பிரமாண கட்டளையல்ல, கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின் மூலம் உண்டாகியுள்ள கிருபையே நம்மை இந்தப் பாவங்களிலிருந்து விடுவிக்க முடியும் என்கின்றார் அவர்.  எனவேதான்,  "பின்னும் நான் சொல்லுகிறதென்னவென்றால், ஆவிக்கேற்றபடி நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள், அப்பொழுது மாம்ச இச்சையை நிறைவேற்றாதிருப்பீர்கள்" ( கலாத்தியர் 5: 16) என்கின்றார். மேலும், "கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினாலே ஜீவனுடைய ஆவியின் பிரமாணம் என்னைப் பாவம் மரணம் என்பவைகளின் பிரமாணத்தினின்று விடுதலையாக்கிற்றே." ( ரோமர் 8: 2) என்றும் கூறுகின்றார். 

தேவ கட்டளைகளுக்கு மதிப்பளிப்போம்; அவைகளை வாழ்வில் கடைபிடிக்க நமது முயற்சியினை முற்றிலும் நம்பாமல் கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசிப்போம். அப்படி அவரை விசுவாசிப்பதன்மூலம்  உண்டாகியுள்ள கிருபையினைச் சார்ந்துகொள்வோம். அப்போதுதான் நாம் இச்சை உண்டாக்கும் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை அடையமுடியும்.

"But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death." (James 1:14-15)

The final commandment of the Ten Commandments is, "You shall not covet." Lust (or covetousness) is an excessive desire for the possessions or people belonging to others. It can be defined as harbouring a mental longing for something that one does not rightfully own. Generally, lust is the root of all sins. In fact, the very first sin entered the world through lust.

We read in Genesis 3:6: "When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate." Today’s meditation verse clarifies this very progression.

Even desiring something that does not belong to us is sin. Many people appear "good" in the eyes of the world simply because they fear social consequences or lack the opportunity to act on their desires, even though their minds are consumed with thoughts of fulfilling them. This is why the Lord Jesus said: "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28).

In this way, lust drags us toward sin. David fell into the lust of the flesh and murdered Uriah to take his wife, falling deep into sin. King Ahab coveted Naboth’s vineyard and, following his wife Jezebel’s advice, had Naboth killed (1 Kings 21). Similarly, Judas—driven by a lust for thirty pieces of silver—betrayed our Lord Jesus Christ and ended his life in suicide.

This is why the Apostle James says in today’s verse, "Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death."

Yes, dear friends, no one can easily escape the sin of lust through human effort alone. Only when the Holy Spirit works within us can we be transformed into spiritual people and be set free from such desires. The Law, including the Ten Commandments, can only teach us what sin is; it cannot deliver us from it. As Paul says: "...I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, 'You shall not covet'" (Romans 7:7).

However, Paul explains that it is not the legalistic commandment, but the Grace available through Jesus Christ that delivers us from these sins. He instructs us: "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16). He further testifies: "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death" (Romans 8:2).

Let us value God's commandments. To follow them in our lives, let us not rely entirely on our own efforts but put our faith in Christ. Let us lean on the Grace that comes through believing in Him. Only then can we find true liberation from the sin that lust produces.

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳

📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1865

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 17, செவ்வாய்        

"தேவன் நமக்குப் பயமுள்ள ஆவியைக் கொடாமல், பலமும் அன்பும் தெளிந்த புத்தியுமுள்ள ஆவியையே கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்." (2 தீமோத்தேயு 1: 7)

ஆவிகளைக்குறித்த பயம் ஆதிகாலம் முதல் மனிதர்களுக்குள் இருக்கின்றது. அசுத்த  ஆவியான சாத்தானைக்குறித்த பயம், இறந்தவர்கள் ஆவியாக அலைந்து திரிவார்கள் எனும் எண்ணம் இவை மனிதர்களுக்குள் இருக்கின்றது. பொதுவாக ஆவிகளை மனிதர்கள் இருளோடு கற்பனை செய்துகொள்கின்றனர். எனவே பலர் இருளான இடங்களுக்குச் செல்லப்  பயப்படுவதுண்டு. 

ஆனால் தேவன் நமக்கு இப்படிப் பயப்படுவதற்கான ஆவியைத் தரவில்லை என்கின்றார் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல். பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரைக்குறித்து கிறிஸ்தவர்களில் சிலர்கூட பயப்படுவதுண்டு. காரணம், சில ஜெபக்கூட்டங்களில் பரிசுத்த ஆவி இறங்கியதாகக் கூறிச்  சிலர் தரையில் உருண்டு புரளுவது, விசித்திரமாக கூக்குரலிடுவது போன்ற செயல்பாடுகளில் ஈடுபடுவதுதான். ஆனால் வேதாகமம் இப்படிக் கூறவில்லை. பிசாசுபிடித்தவர்கள்தான் இப்படி உருண்டு புரள்வது, செத்தவர்கள்போல விழுந்து கிடப்பது என நாம் வேதாகமத்தில் வாசிக்கின்றோம். பிசாசு பிடித்தவர்கள் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைக் கண்டபோது இப்படி விழுந்து புரண்டனர். 

ஆனால், பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் அமைதியின் ஆவியானவர். ஆவியானவர் இருக்குமிடத்தில் சமாதானம் இருக்கும், மகிழ்ச்சி இருக்கும். ஆவியானவர் வெளியரங்கமான பயமூட்டும் காரியங்களைச் செய்யமாட்டார். அவர் நமக்குள் இருந்து செயல்படுபவர். நமக்குப் போதிப்பவர், நாம் நடக்கவேண்டிய பாதையைக் காட்டுபவர். நமது இருதயத்தை சமாதானத்தால் நிறைப்பவர். நாம் ஆவிக்குரிய கனியுள்ள வாழ்க்கை வாழ உதவுபவர். ஆம், "ஆவியின் கனியோ, அன்பு, சந்தோஷம், சமாதானம், நீடியபொறுமை, தயவு, நற்குணம், விசுவாசம், சாந்தம், இச்சையடக்கம்; இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளுக்கு விரோதமான பிரமாணம் ஒன்றுமில்லை." ( கலாத்தியர் 5: 22, 23)

மேலும், "ஆவியின் கனி, சகல நற்குணத்திலும் நீதியிலும் உண்மையிலும் விளங்கும்." ( எபேசியர் 5: 9) என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆம்  அன்பானவர்களே, எனவே நாம் தேவனுக்கேற்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழவேண்டுமானால் இந்தப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் நமக்குத் தேவையாக இருக்கின்றார். இந்த ஆவியானவர் பயமுறுத்தும் ஆவியல்ல; மாறாக, நமக்கு ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை வாழ்வதற்கான  பலமும் கிறிஸ்துவில் இருந்ததுபோன்ற அன்புநம்மில் உருவாகவும்,   நமக்குத் தெளிந்த புத்தியும் தரக்கூடியவர். 

நாம் கடவுளுடைய பிள்ளைகள் என்பதற்குப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் நமக்குள் இருப்பதுதான் அடையாளம். இதனால்தான் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல், "மேலும் எவர்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆவியினாலே நடத்தப்படுகிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய புத்திரராயிருக்கிறார்கள்." ( ரோமர் 8: 14) என்று கூறுகின்றார். இந்த ஆவியானவரை நாம் பெறவில்லையானால் நாம் அவருடையவர்கள் அல்ல. "கிறிஸ்துவின் ஆவியில்லாதவன் அவருடையவனல்ல." ( ரோமர் 8: 9)

ஆவியானவர் நமக்குள் இருக்கின்றார் என்றால் நமது அப்பா நம்மோடு இருக்கின்றார் என்று பொருள். எனவே அவர் நமக்குள் வரும்போது நாம் பயப்படத் தேவையே இருக்காது. "அந்தப்படி, திரும்பவும் பயப்படுகிறதற்கு நீங்கள் அடிமைத்தனத்தின் ஆவியைப் பெறாமல், அப்பா பிதாவே, என்று கூப்பிடப்பண்ணுகிற புத்திரசுவிகாரத்தின் ஆவியைப் பெற்றீர்கள்." ( ரோமர் 8: 15) என்று பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர் கூறவில்லையா? 

இந்த ஆவியானவரைப்  பெற்றுக்கொள்ள ஆர்வமுடன் வாஞ்சிப்போம்.  அப்படிப் பெறும்போது நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையே மாறுதல் அடையும். "கேட்கிற எவனும் பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறான்" என்கிறார் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு  கிறிஸ்து.

“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

The fear of spirits has existed among people since ancient times. Many fear the unclean spirit—Satan—and some believe that the spirits of the dead wander about. Generally, people imagine spirits in connection with darkness. Because of this, many are afraid to go to dark places.

However, the apostle Paul says that God has not given us a spirit that causes such fear. Even among Christians, some are afraid when they think about the Holy Spirit. This fear often arises because in certain prayer gatherings people claim that the Holy Spirit has descended, and some individuals roll on the ground, shout strangely, or display unusual behaviour.

But the Bible does not teach this. In Scripture, such actions are associated with those who were possessed by demons. We read that when demon-possessed people encountered Jesus Christ, they fell down and convulsed before Him.

The Holy Spirit, however, is the Spirit of peace. Where the Spirit of God is present, there will be peace and joy. The Holy Spirit does not work through outward, frightening displays. Rather, He works within us. He teaches us and guides us in the path we should walk. He fills our hearts with peace and helps us live a fruitful spiritual life.

Yes, the Scripture says:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” — Galatians 5:22–23.

It is also written:

“For the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth.” — Ephesians 5:9

Dear beloved, if we want to live a life that pleases God, we need the Holy Spirit. This Spirit is not one that frightens us. Instead, He gives us power to live a spiritual life, forms in us the love that was in Christ, and grants us a sound and disciplined mind.

The presence of the Holy Spirit within us is the sign that we are God’s children. That is why the apostle Paul says:

“For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” — Romans 8:14

If we do not have the Spirit of God, we do not belong to Him: “But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.” — Romans 8:9

If the Holy Spirit is within us, it means our Father is with us. Therefore, when He comes to dwell in us, there is no reason for fear.

As the apostle Paul writes:

“For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’” — Romans 8:15

Let us eagerly desire to receive this Holy Spirit. When we receive Him, our spiritual life will be transformed. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “For everyone who asks, receives.”

📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1864

🔆 2026 மார்ச் 16, திங்கள்       

"இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தராயிருக்கிற உன் மீட்பரான கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறதாவது: பிரயோஜனமாயிருக்கிறதை உனக்குப் போதித்து, நீ நடக்கவேண்டிய வழியிலே உன்னை நடத்துகிற உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நானே." ( ஏசாயா 48: 17)

நமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உலக செல்வ ஆசீர்வாதங்களைத் தந்து நம்மை நடத்துபவரல்ல; மாறாக, நம்மை அவர் விரும்பும் பரிசுத்தமான வழியில் நாம் நடக்க விரும்புபவர், வழி நடத்துபவர். நான் பரிசுத்தர் எனவே நீங்களும் பரிசுத்தராய் இருங்கள் என்று கூறியவர் அப்படி நாம் பரிசுத்த வாழ்க்கை வாழ விரும்புபவராகவும்  அப்படி வாழ உதவி செய்பவராகவும் இருக்கின்றார்.  

இது எப்படியென்றால் ஒரு சிறந்த மருத்துவர் தன்னைப்போல தனது மகனும் மகளும் எதிர்காலத்தில் ஒரு மருத்துவராக வரவேண்டும் என்று ஆசைப்படுவதைப்போலவும், அவர்கள் அப்படி எதிர்காலத்தில் விளங்க அவர்களுக்கு அனைத்து உதவிகளையும் செய்வதுபோலவும் ஆகும்.

ஆம், இதுபோலவே கர்த்தரின் பரிசுத்தமான வழியில் நாம் நடப்பதற்கு வழிகாட்டவும் நமக்கு முன்மாதிரியாக அந்தப் பரிசுத்த வழியில் நடந்து மாதிரி காண்பிக்கவும் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உலகத்தில் வந்தார். எனவேதான் அவர் கூறினார், " நானே வழியும் சத்தியமும் ஜீவனுமாயிருக்கிறேன்; என்னாலேயல்லாமல் ஒருவனும் பிதாவினிடத்தில் வரான்." (யோவான் 14: 6) ஆம், பரிசுத்தரான பிதாவை அடைந்திட கிறிஸ்து ஒருவரே வழியும் உண்மையாய் இருக்கின்றார். 

இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உலகத்தில் இருந்த நாட்களில் தனது சீடர்களோடு இருந்து நடத்தினார். அவர் தனது மீட்புப் பணியினை நிறைவு செய்து மீண்டும் தந்தையிடம் செல்லுமுன்பாக தந்து சீடர்களை வழிநடத்தவும், தன்னை விசுவாசிப்பவர்களை பரிசுத்த வழியில் நடத்திடவும்  பரிசுத்த ஆவியனவரை வாக்களித்தார். பரிசுத்த ஆவியான "அவர் வந்து, பாவத்தைக்குறித்தும், நீதியைக்குறித்தும், நியாயத்தீர்ப்பைக்குறித்தும், உலகத்தைக் கண்டித்து உணர்த்துவார்."( யோவான் 16 : 8 ) என்றார் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து. 

"பிரயோஜனமாயிருக்கிறதை உனக்குப் போதித்து, நீ நடக்கவேண்டிய வழியிலே உன்னை நடத்துகிற உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நானே" என்று வாக்களித்த கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து இன்று பரிசுத்த ஆவியாக நம்முடனிருத்து நடத்துகின்றார். 

ஆனால், இன்றைய பெரும்பாலான மக்களுக்கு இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உலக ஆசீர்வாதங்களை கொடுக்கும் ஒரு தெய்வமாகவே காண்பிக்கப்படுகின்றார். அன்பானவர்களே, இந்த உலகத்தில் நடக்கக்கூடிய காரியங்களைக்கொண்டே இது தவறான எண்ணம் என்பதை நாம் உணர்ந்துகொள்ளலாம். இன்று உலக அளவில் ஆசீர்வாதங்களை பெற்றுள்ளவர்கள் கிறிஸ்துவை அறிந்தவர்களல்ல. கிறிஸ்துவை அறியாத, அவரது போதனைகளைக் கடைபிடிக்காதவர்களே இன்று பெரும் உலக பணக்காரர்களாகவுள்ளனர். இதிலிருந்தே கிறிஸ்து உலக ஆசீர்வாதங்களுக்காக வரவில்லை என்பது தெளிவு.

கிறிஸ்து இல்லாத வாழ்க்கையில் எவ்வளவு பணமோ பதவியோ இருந்தாலும் அங்கு பரிசுத்தம் இருக்காது; தேவனுக்கு  ஏற்புடைய ஒரு வாழ்க்கை இருக்காது. சமுதாயத்தில் மதிப்போடு பார்க்கப்படும் பலர் சில வேளைகளில் தவறு செய்து சட்டத்தின் பிடியில் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளும்போது அவர்களைப்பற்றி வெளிவரும் செய்திகள், "ஐயோ, இவரா இப்படியெல்லாம் செய்தார்?' என உலகம் ஆச்சரியப்படுகின்றது. ஆனால் நாம் கிறித்துவுக்குள் இருந்தால் இந்த ஆச்சரியம் நமக்கு வராது. காரணம், கிறிஸ்து இல்லாத வாழ்க்கை இப்படித்தான் இருக்குமென்று நமக்குத் தெரியும்.

"நானே திராட்சைச்செடி, நீங்கள் கொடிகள். ஒருவன் என்னிலும் நான் அவனிலும் நிலைத்திருந்தால், அவன் மிகுந்த கனிகளைக் கொடுப்பான்; என்னையல்லாமல் உங்களால் ஒன்றும் செய்யக்கூடாது." ( யோவான் 15: 5) என்று இயேசு கிறிஸ்து கூறவில்லையா? திராட்சைக் கொடியாகிய அவரோடு நாம்  இணைக்கப்பட்டால் மட்டுமே கனியுள்ள வாழ்க்கை வாழ முடியும். 

எனவே அன்பானவர்களே, பிரயோஜனமாயிருக்கிறதை நமக்குப் போதித்து, நாம் நடக்கவேண்டிய வழியிலே நம்மை நடத்துகிற நம் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடம் நாம் நம்மை இணைத்துக்கொள்வோம். அப்போது, அவரே பிரயோஜனமாயிருக்கிறதை நமக்குப்  போதித்து நாம் நடக்கவேண்டிய பாதையில் நம்மை நடத்தி நித்திய ஜீவனை நாம் பெற்றிட உதவி செய்வார்.

“This is what the LORD says, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to benefit,
who leads you in the way you should go.’” — Isaiah 48:17

The Lord our God does not guide us merely by giving worldly riches and blessings. Rather, He desires that we walk in the holy path that He has prepared for us, and He Himself leads us in that way. The One who said, “You shall be holy, for I am holy,” also desires that we live a holy life and helps us to live in such holiness.

This is similar to how an excellent doctor desires that his son or daughter also become a doctor in the future and does everything possible to help them achieve that goal.

In the same way, Jesus Christ came into the world to guide us to walk in the holy way of the Lord and to set an example by walking in that holy path Himself. That is why He said:

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” — John 14:6

Yes, Christ alone is the way and the truth through whom we can reach the holy Father.

During the days when Jesus Christ lived on earth, He personally stayed with His disciples and guided them. Before completing His redemptive work and returning to the Father, He promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide His disciples and lead all those who believe in Him in the path of holiness. Jesus said:

“And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment.” — John 16:8 (NASB)

The Lord Jesus Christ, who promised, “I am the LORD your God who teaches you to benefit and leads you in the way you should go,” is today guiding us through the Holy Spirit who dwells with us.

However, for many people today, Jesus Christ is often presented merely as a deity who grants worldly blessings. Dear friends, by observing what happens in this world, we can understand that this is a mistaken idea. Many who enjoy great worldly prosperity today do not even know Christ. In fact, some of the wealthiest people in the world neither know Christ nor follow His teachings. From this we can clearly understand that Christ did not come to grant worldly prosperity.

No matter how much wealth or position a person may have, if Christ is absent in that life, there will be no holiness and no life pleasing to God. Sometimes people who are respected in society commit serious wrongs and become caught in legal troubles. When such news appears, the world reacts with surprise, saying, “Oh! Did this person really do such things?” But if we understand life without Christ, this should not surprise us, because we know that a life without Christ can easily fall into such situations.

Did not Jesus say:

“I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5

Only when we remain connected to Him, the true Vine, can we live a fruitful life.

Therefore, dear friends, let us unite ourselves with the Lord our God who teaches us what is beneficial and leads us in the way we should walk. Then He Himself will teach us what is good for us, guide us in the right path, and help us receive eternal life.

"கர்த்தருடைய கை குறுகியிருக்கிறதோ? என் வார்த்தையின்படி நடக்குமோ நடவாதோ என்று. நீ இப்பொழுது காண்பாய்." ( எண்ணாகமம் 11: 23)

நாம் எதனையும் பல்வேறு விதங்களில் சிந்தித்துப் பார்த்து, இது நம்மால் முடியும் அல்லது  முடியாது என்று தீர்மானிக்கின்றோம். ஆனால் தேவன் இத்தகைய சிந்தனைகளுக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டவர் என்பதனையும் அவரால் கூடாத காரியம் எதுவும் இல்லை என்பதனையும் பலவேளைகளில் எண்ணிப்பார்க்க மறந்துவிடுகின்றோம். காரணம், நாம் பொதுவாக எப்போதும் மனித  மனநிலையிலிருந்தே தேவனையும் பார்க்கின்றோம்.  

இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களை மோசே வனாந்தரத்தில் வழிநடத்தியபோது தேவன் அதிசயமாக அவர்களுக்குத் தூதர்கள் உண்ணும்  மன்னாவைப் பொழிந்து பசியாற்றினார். ஆனாலும் அந்த மக்களுக்கு மன்னாவின்மேல் வெறுப்பு ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டது. "இப்பொழுது நம்முடைய உள்ளம் வாடிப்போகிறது; இந்த மன்னாவைத் தவிர, நம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக வேறொன்றும் இல்லையே என்று சொன்னார்கள்." ( எண்ணாகமம் 11: 6) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். அதாவது அவர்கள் நாவு இறைச்சி உணவுக்கு ஏங்கத்துவங்கியது. 

அவர்கள் இருந்த இடமோ வனாந்தரம். அங்கு வேறு எந்த உணவுக்கும் வாய்ப்பு இல்லை. ஆனால் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களது ஏக்கத்தை மோசே தேவனிடம் தெரிவித்தபோது தேவன், "நீங்கள் ஒருநாள், இரண்டுநாள், ஐந்துநாள், பத்துநாள், இருபதுநாள் மாத்திரமல்ல, ஒரு மாதம்வரைக்கும் புசிப்பீர்கள்; அது உங்கள் மூக்காலே புறப்பட்டு, உங்களுக்குத் தெவிட்டிப்போகுமட்டும் புசிப்பீர்கள்; உங்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிற கர்த்தரை அசட்டைபண்ணி, நாங்கள் ஏன் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டோம் என்று அவருக்கு முன்பாக அழுதீர்களே என்று சொல் என்றார்". ( எண்ணாகமம் 11: 19, 20)

தேவன் கூறியது மனித கற்பனைக்கு எட்டாத ஒரு காரியம். எனவே, "அதற்கு மோசே: என்னோடிருக்கிற காலாட்கள் ஆறுலட்சம்பேர்; ஒரு மாதம் முழுவதும் புசிக்கும்படி அவர்களுக்கு இறைச்சி கொடுப்பேன் என்று சொன்னீரே. ஆடுமாடுகளை அவர்களுக்காக அடித்தாலும் அவர்களுக்குப் போதுமா? சமுத்திரத்து மச்சங்களையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்காகச் சேர்த்தாலும் அவர்களுக்குப் போதுமா என்றான்." ( எண்ணாகமம் 11: 21, 22)

ஆறுலட்சம் மக்களுக்கு ஒரு மாதம் முழுவதும் உண்ணும்படி  இறைச்சி கொடுப்பேன் என்று தேவன் கூறியதை மோசேயாலேயே நம்ப முடியவில்லை. ஆம்,  தேவனோடு பேசி, நடந்து, தேவனது  நண்பனாக முகமுகமாய் தேவனோடு பேசக்கூடிய நிலையிலிருந்த மோசேயால்கூட தேவனது வார்த்தையினை நம்பமுடியவில்லை. எனவேதான் மோசேயிடம் தேவன், "கர்த்தருடைய கை குறுகியிருக்கிறதோ? என் வார்த்தையின்படி நடக்குமோ நடவாதோ என்று. நீ இப்பொழுது காண்பாய்" என்று இன்றைய தியான வார்த்தைகளைக் கூறுகின்றார். கூறியது மட்டுமல்ல, அவ்வாறே அவர்களுக்கு இறைச்சியை உண்ணக்கொடுத்தார். 

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இன்று நமது சில பிரச்சனைகளுக்காக நாம் ஜெபித்தாலும் நம்மால் பலவேளைகளில் முழு விசுவாசம் ஏற்படுவதில்லை. மோசேயைப்போலவே இருக்கின்றோம். நமது விசுவாசம் அற்பமான விசுவாசமாகவே இருக்கின்றது. ஒருமுறை இயேசு கடல்மேல் நடப்பதைப்பார்த்துப்  பேதுருவும் தானும் அவ்வாறு நடக்க ஆசைப்பட்டார். கிறிஸ்துவும் அவரிடம் படகிலிருந்து இறங்கி  வருமாறு கூறினார். அவ்வாறே அவரும் கிறிஸ்துவை நோக்கி  கடல்மேல் நடந்தார். ஆனால், காற்று பலமாக வீசியதால் கிறிஸ்துவைவிட்டு சூழ்நிலையைப் பார்த்து அவிசுவாசம் கொண்டார். உடனேயே நீரில் மூழ்க ஆரம்பித்தார். பயந்து,  "ஆண்டவரே, என்னை இரட்சியும்" என்று கூவினார். "உடனே இயேசு கையை நீட்டி அவனைப் பிடித்து: அற்பவிசுவாசியே, ஏன் சந்தேகப்பட்டாய் என்றார்." ( மத்தேயு 14: 31)

நாமும் பலவேளைகளில் மோசேயைப்போலவும் பேதுருவைப்போலவும் அற்ப விசுவாசிகளாக நடந்துகொள்கின்றோம். மருத்துவர்களின் அச்சம்தரும் வார்த்தைகள், பயமுறுத்தும் காரியங்கள், கடன் சுமைகள் இவைகள் ஏற்படுத்தும் பயங்கரமான சூழ்நிலைகளைப் பார்த்து அவிசுவாசம் கொள்கின்றோம். தேவனால் நமது வாழ்வில் நாம் நம்பமுடியாத அளவுக்கு மாற்றங்களைக் கொண்டுவரமுடியும் என்று விசுவாசிப்போம்; கர்த்தருடைய கைகள்  குறுகிப்போனவையல்ல என்பதற்கு  வேதாகமத்தில் பல நூறு சாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

“Is the LORD’S power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.” — Numbers 11:23

We often think about many things in different ways and decide whether something is possible or impossible for us. However, many times we forget that God is far beyond such human reasoning and that nothing is impossible for Him. The reason is that we usually view God from a human perspective.

When Moses was leading the people of Israel through the wilderness, God miraculously provided them with manna—the bread of heaven—to satisfy their hunger. Yet the people began to grow weary of the manna. We read:

“But now our appetite is gone. There is nothing at all to look at except this manna.” — Numbers 11:6

In other words, they began to crave meat.

The place where they were living was a wilderness, where there was no possibility of obtaining other kinds of food. When Moses reported the longing of the Israelites to God, the Lord said:

“You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days, but a whole month, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you; because you have rejected the LORD who is among you and have wept before Him, saying, ‘Why did we ever leave Egypt?’” — Numbers 11:19–20

What God said was beyond human imagination. Therefore, Moses responded:

“The people among whom I am are 600,000 on foot; yet You have said, ‘I will give them meat so that they may eat for a whole month.’ Should flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to be sufficient for them? Or should all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to be sufficient for them?” — Numbers 11:21–22

Even Moses found it difficult to believe what God had said—that He would give meat for six hundred thousand people to eat for an entire month. Yes, even Moses, who spoke with God and walked with Him, who spoke with God face to face as a friend, struggled to believe God’s word.

That is why the Lord said to Moses the words of today’s meditation:

“Is the LORD’S power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.” — Numbers 11:23

God did not only say it—He fulfilled it and gave them meat to eat.

Yes, dear friends, even today when we pray about certain problems in our lives, many times we do not have complete faith. We are often like Moses. Our faith remains small.

Once, when Peter saw Jesus walking on the sea, he also desired to walk in the same way. Jesus told him to come out of the boat. Peter stepped out and walked on the water toward Christ. But when he saw the strong wind, he looked at the circumstances instead of Christ and became afraid. Immediately he began to sink. In fear he cried out, “Lord, save me!”

“Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, ‘You of little faith, why did you doubt?’” — Matthew 14:31

Many times, we too behave like Moses and Peter, becoming people of little faith. The frightening words of doctors, troubling situations, and the burdens of debt can create fearful circumstances that lead us into unbelief.

But let us believe that God can bring unimaginable changes in our lives. The Bible contains hundreds of testimonies proving that the Lord’s hand is not too short.
