🦋 Meditation verse - எபேசியர் 1: 20 / Ephesians 1:20–21

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1712                                           ஆதவன் 15.10.2025 புதன்  

"எல்லாத் துரைத்தனத்துக்கும், அதிகாரத்துக்கும், வல்லமைக்கும், கர்த்தத்துவத்துக்கும், இம்மையில் மாத்திரமல்ல மறுமையிலும் பேர்பெற்றிருக்கும் எல்லா நாமத்துக்கும் மேலாய் அவர் உயர்ந்திருக்கத்தக்கதாக," ( எபேசியர் 1: 20)

தேவாலயத்தைவிடவும், யோனா, சாலமோன், மோசே இவர்களைவிடவும் மேலானவரான இயேசு கிறிஸ்து எல்லாத் துரைத்தனத்துக்கும், அதிகாரத்துக்கும், வல்லமைக்கும், கர்த்தத்துவத்துக்கும், இம்மையில் மாத்திரமல்ல மறுமையிலும் எல்லாப் பெயருக்கும் மேலாய் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் பெயர் உயர்ந்ததாக உள்ளது.  

உலகில் பல்வேறு அதிகார அமைப்புக்கள் உள்ளன. சில நாடுகள் தாங்கள்தான் உலகையே ஆளுவதாக எண்ணிக்கொண்டு  பல்வேறு சட்டதிட்டங்களாலும் கொள்கைகளாலும் உலக நாடுகளை பயமுறுத்திக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றன. சில அரசியல் தலைவர்கள் தாங்கள் வானத்தின் அளவுக்கு அதிகாரம் படைத்தவர்கள் என்று எண்ணிக்கொண்டு வாழ்கின்றனர். ஆனால் தேவன் நினைத்தால் ஒரேநொடியில் தாங்கள் அழிந்துபோவோம் என்பதனை உணராமல் இருக்கின்றனர். 

இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது, இம்மையில் மாத்திரமல்ல மறுமையிலும் எல்லா பெயருக்கும் மேலான பெயரை இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பெற்றுள்ளார். "இயேசுவின் நாமத்தில் வானோர் பூதலத்தோர் பூமியின் கீழானோருடைய முழங்கால் யாவும் முடங்கும்படிக்கும், பிதாவாகிய தேவனுக்கு மகிமையாக இயேசுகிறிஸ்து கர்த்தரென்று நாவுகள் யாவும் அறிக்கைபண்ணும்படிக்கும், எல்லா நாமத்திற்கும் மேலான நாமத்தை அவருக்குத் தந்தருளினார்". ( பிலிப்பியர் 2: 10, 11) என்று நாம் வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

 

பிசாசுகளும் அவரது வல்லமையினை அறிந்திருந்தன. பிசாசு பிடித்த மனிதன், "இயேசுவே, உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய குமாரனே, எனக்கும் உமக்கும் என்ன? என்னை வேதனைப்படுத்தாதபடிக்கு தேவன்பேரில் உமக்கு ஆணையென்று மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னான்." ( மாற்கு 5: 7) "பிசாசுகளும்: நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரனாகிய கிறிஸ்து என்று சத்தமிட்டு, அநேகரைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டன." ( லுூக்கா 4: 41) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். ஆனால் யூத பரிசேயர்கள் அவரை அறியவில்லை; அவரது வல்லமையினை உணரவில்லை. அவர்கள், "இவன் பிசாசுகளின் தலைவனாகிய பெயெல்செபூலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறானேயல்லாமல் மற்றப்படியல்ல என்றார்கள்." ( மத்தேயு 12: 24)

அன்பானவர்களே, நாமும் கிறிஸ்துவின் வல்லமையை முழுவதும் நம்பவில்லையானால் யூத பரிசேயர்களைப்போலவே இருப்போம். அவரது வல்லமையினை நாம் உணர்ந்திருந்தோமானால் அவர் பூமியில் வாழ்ந்தபோது செய்ததுபோன்ற அற்புதங்களை நமது வாழ்வில் அவர் இப்போதும்  செய்ய வல்லவர் என்பதனையும் விசுவாசிப்போம்; அவர் நமது பாவங்களை மன்னிப்பவர், மீண்டும் நாம் பாவத்தில் விழாதபடிக்கு நம்மை அவரால் பாதுகாக்க முடியும் என்பதனையும் விசுவாசிப்போம். 

ஒரு நாட்டில் பல்வேறு அரசுத் துறைகள் செயல்படுகின்றன. ஒரு நாட்டின் பிரதமர் அல்லது அதிபருக்கு அந்த எல்லாத் துறைகள் மேலும் அதிகாரம் உண்டு. அவர் சொல்வதற்கு அந்தத் துறையினர் கீழ்ப்படிவார்கள். அன்பானவர்களே, இந்தப் பூமியிலுள்ள ஒரு சிறிய நாட்டின் பிரதமர் அல்லது அதிபருக்கே இத்தகைய அதிகாரம் இருக்குமானால்  இந்த சர்வ லோகத்தையும் படைத்து ஆளும் தேவாதி தேவனுக்கு எத்தனைப் பெரிய அதிகாரம் இருக்கும்!

எல்லாத் துரைத்தனத்துக்கும், அதிகாரத்துக்கும், வல்லமைக்கும், கர்த்தத்துவத்துக்கும், இம்மையிலும்  மறுமையிலும் பேர்பெற்றிருக்கும் அவரையே வாழ்வில் பற்றிக்கொள்வோம். "எனக்கு அடைக்கலமாயிருக்கிற உன்னதமான கர்த்தரை உனக்குத் தாபரமாகக்கொண்டாய். ஆகையால் பொல்லாப்பு உனக்கு நேரிடாது, வாதை உன் கூடாரத்தை அணுகாது. உன் வழிகளிலெல்லாம் உன்னைக் காக்கும்படி, உனக்காகத் தம்முடைய தூதர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவார். உன் பாதம் கல்லில் இடறாதபடிக்கு அவர்கள் உன்னைத் தங்கள் கைகளில் ஏந்திக்கொண்டுபோவார்கள்." (சங்கீதம் 91:9-12)

Scripture Meditation No. 1712
AATHAVAN – Wednesday, October 15, 2025

“…which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.” — Ephesians 1:20–21 (NASB)

Jesus Christ—greater than the temple, greater than Jonah, Solomon, and Moses—has been exalted far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, not only in this world but also in the world to come.

Around the world, many systems of power exist. Some nations imagine that they control the entire world, ruling other countries through fear, laws, and policies. Certain political leaders believe that their power reaches up to the heavens. Yet they fail to realize that if God wills, they could perish in a single moment.

Today’s verse reminds us that Jesus Christ has been given the name above every name—not only in this age but also in the one to come.

“…so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”— Philippians 2:10–11 (NASB)

Even the demons recognized His authority.

“And shouting with a loud voice, he said, ‘What business do You have with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!’” — Mark 5:7 (NASB)

“Demons also were coming out of many, shouting and saying, ‘You are the Son of God!’ But He rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.” — Luke 4:41 (NASB)

But the Jewish Pharisees did not recognize Him or understand His divine power. Instead,

“The Pharisees said, ‘This man casts out the demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.’” — Matthew 12:24 (NASB)

Beloved, if we too fail to believe fully in Christ’s authority, we are no different from those Pharisees. When we truly recognize His power, we will believe that the same Lord who performed miracles on earth is still able to work wonders in our lives today. We will believe that He forgives our sins and has the power to keep us from falling back into them.

In every nation there are many departments of government, yet the prime minister or president has authority over them all—their commands are obeyed. If a human ruler of a small country holds such power, how much greater is the authority of the Almighty God, who created and rules over the entire universe!

Let us therefore cling to Him who reigns above every rule, authority, power, and dominion, both in this world and in the one to come.

“For you have made the Lord, my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
No evil will happen to you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.
For He will give His angels orders concerning you,
To protect you in all your ways.
They will lift you up in their hands,
So that you do not strike your foot against a stone.”

🦋 Meditation verse - எபிரெயர் 3 : 3 / Hebrews 3:3

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1711                                           ஆதவன் 14.10.2025 செவ்வாய் 

"வீட்டை உண்டுபண்ணினவன் வீட்டைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிக கனத்திற்குரியவனாயிருக்கிறான்; அதுபோல மோசேயைப்பார்க்கிலும் இவர் அதிக மகிமைக்குப் பாத்திரராயிருக்கிறார்." ( எபிரெயர் 3 : 3 )

நம் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தேவாலயத்தைவிடப் பெரியவர், யோனாவைவிடப் பெரியவர், சாலமோனைவிடப் பெரியவர் என்று கடந்த நாட்களில் தியானித்தோம். இன்றைய தியான வசனம் கூறுகின்றது அவர் மோசேயைவிட அதிக மகிமைக்குரியவர் என்று. 

இஸ்ரவேலரின் சரித்திரத்தில் மோசேக்கு அதிக முக்கியத்துவம் உண்டு. எகிப்தியரின் அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து இஸ்ரவேலரை மீட்டு, அவர்களுக்குத் தேவன் அளித்த வாக்குத்தத்த நாடான கானானுக்கு அவர்களை  வழிநடத்தியவர் மோசே. "இவனே அவர்களை அங்கேயிருந்து அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, எகிப்து தேசத்திலேயும் சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்திலேயும், நாற்பது வருஷகாலமாய் வனாந்தரத்திலேயும், அற்புதங்களையும் அடையாளங்களையும் செய்தான்." ( அப்போஸ்தலருடைய நடபடிகள் 7 : 36 ) 

இப்படி தேவனுக்கு முற்றிலும் ஏற்புடையவராக வாழ்ந்த மோசே ஒரு சிறிய காரியத்தில் தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்படியாமல்போனதால் அவரால் கானான் நாட்டிற்குள் நுழைய முடியவில்லை. ஆனால் முற்றிலும் தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்படிந்திருந்த இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோ பரம கானானுக்குள் நுழைந்து நமக்காகப் பிதாவிடம் பரிந்துபேசக்கூடிய நிலையினை அடைந்தார். 

மோசே தேவனுக்கு உண்மையுள்ளவராய் இருந்தார். தேவனை முகமுகமாய்க் காணும் பேறுபெற்றார். ஆனால் அவர் தேவனுக்கு ஊழியக்காரனாகவே இருந்தார். நமது வீடுகளில் வேலைக்கு பணி ஆட்களை அமர்த்தும்போது அவர்களில் சிலர் மிகுந்த உண்மையுள்ளவர்களாகவும் பொறுப்புள்ளவர்களாகவும் இருப்பதுண்டு. அப்படியே மோசே தேவனுக்கு உண்மையுள்ளவராக இருந்தார். "ஏனெனில், எந்த வீடும் ஒருவனால் உண்டாக்கப்படும்; எல்லாவற்றையும் உண்டுபண்ணினவர் தேவன். சொல்லப்படப்போகிற காரியங்களுக்குச் சாட்சியாக, மோசே பணிவிடைக்காரனாய், அவருடைய வீட்டில் எங்கும் உண்மையுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான்." ( எபிரெயர் 3 : 4. 5 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

ஒரு வீட்டில் பணி செய்யும் வேலைக்காரன் எவ்வளவுதான் உண்மையும் நேர்மையுமுள்ளவனாக இருந்தாலும் அவனைவிட  அந்த வீட்டு உரிமையாளரின் மகன் அதிக மதிப்புமிக்கவன். இதுபோல இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தேவனுடைய குமாரன். எனவே அவர் மோசேயைவிட மேலானவர். "கிறிஸ்துவோ அவருடைய வீட்டிற்கு மேற்பட்டவரான குமாரனாக உண்மையுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறார்; நம்பிக்கையினாலே உண்டாகும் தைரியத்தையும் மேன்மைபாராட்டலையும் முடிவுபரியந்தம் உறுதியாய்ப் பற்றிக்கொண்டிருப்போமாகில், நாமே அவருடைய வீடாயிருப்போம்." ( எபிரெயர் 3 : 6 ) அவர் வீட்டிற்கு மேலான குமாரனாக இருந்து நம்மை நடத்துவார். 

எனவே அன்பானவர்களே, மோசே மட்டுமல்ல, எந்த பரிசுத்தவானாக இருந்தாலும் அவர்கள் தேவனது பணியாளர்களே. நாம் பணியாளர்களையல்ல, வீட்டுக்கு உரிமையுள்ளவரையே பற்றிக்கொள்ளவேண்டும். அப்போதுமட்டுமே நாம் நித்தியஜீவனை அடைந்திட முடியும். "என் பிதாவின் வீட்டில் அநேக வாசஸ்தலங்கள் உண்டு; அப்படியில்லாதிருந்தால், நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியிருப்பேன்; ஒரு ஸ்தலத்தை உங்களுக்காக ஆயத்தம்பண்ணப்போகிறேன். நான் போய் உங்களுக்காக ஸ்தலத்தை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணினபின்பு, நான் இருக்கிற இடத்திலே நீங்களும் இருக்கும்படி, நான் மறுபடியும் வந்து உங்களை என்னிடத்தில் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளுவேன்." ( யோவான் 14 : 2,3 ) என்று அவர் நமக்கு வாக்களித்துள்ளாரே!

வீட்டை உண்டுபண்ணினவன் வீட்டைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிக கனத்திற்குரியவனாயிருக்கிறான்; வீட்டை உண்டுபண்ணினவரையே நோக்கிப்பார்ப்போம்.

Scripture Meditation No. 1711
AATHAVAN — Tuesday, 14 October 2025

“For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honour than the house.” — Hebrews 3:3 (NASB)

In past few days, we have meditated on the truth that our Lord Jesus Christ is greater than the temple, greater than Jonah, and greater than Solomon. Today’s meditation reminds us that He is also greater than Moses.

Moses holds a highly significant place in the history of Israel. He delivered the Israelites from Egyptian slavery and led them toward the Promised Land of Canaan, which God had given to them.

“This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years.” — Acts 7:36 (NASB)

Although Moses lived a life that was well-pleasing to God, a single act of disobedience kept him from entering the land of Canaan. But Jesus Christ, who was perfectly obedient to the Father, entered the heavenly Canaan and now intercedes for us at the right hand of God.

Moses was faithful to God and enjoyed the unique privilege of speaking with Him face to face. Yet, Moses served as a servant in God’s house. In our homes, we may have employees or servants who are honest and trustworthy — yet, no matter how faithful they are, they can never have the same honour as the son of the house. Likewise, Moses was faithful as a servant, but Christ is the Son.

“For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.
Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later.” — Hebrews 3:4–5 (NASB)

“But Christ was faithful as a Son over His house—whose house we are, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the boast of our hope.” — Hebrews 3:6 (NASB)

Christ, the Son, rules over His house and leads us as members of it. Therefore, beloved, let us remember: no matter how holy or revered a saint may be, they remain servants of God. We are not to cling to the servants, but to the Master and Owner of the house — Christ Himself. Only then can we receive eternal life.

“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be.” — John 14:2–3 (NASB)

The builder of the house is worthy of more honour than the house itself. Let us therefore fix our eyes on the Builder.

🦋 Meditation verse - மத்தேயு 12 : 42 / Matthew 12:42

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1710                                          ஆதவன் 13.10.2025 திங்கள்     

"தென்தேசத்து ராஜஸ்திரீ பூமியின் எல்லைகளிலிருந்து சாலொமோனுடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்க வந்தாள். இதோ, சாலொமோனிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார்." ( மத்தேயு 12 : 42 )

தாவீது ராஜாவின் மகன் சாலமோன் இஸ்ரவேலில் மிகப்பெரிய அரசனாக இருந்தார். எருசலேம் ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டியவர் இந்த சாலமோன் ராஜாதான். தேவன் இரண்டுமுறை சாலமோனுக்குத் தரிசனமாகி அவருக்குத் தன்னை வெளிப்படுத்தினார். நீ விரும்புவதைக் கேள் என்று தேவன் கூறியபோது சாலொமோன் தேவனிடம் ஞானத்தைக் கேட்டார். இதனால் மகிழ்ந்த தேவன் சாலமோனுக்கு ஞானத்தையும் அவன் கேட்காத செல்வத்தையும் மிகுதியாகக் கொடுத்தார். 

"ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனுக்கு இருந்த பானபாத்திரங்களெல்லாம் பொன்னும், லீபனோன் வனம் என்கிற மாளிகையின் பணிமுட்டுகளெல்லாம் பசும்பொன்னுமாயிருந்தது; ஒன்றும் வெள்ளியினால் செய்யப்படவில்லை; சாலொமோனின் நாட்களில் வெள்ளி ஒரு பொருளாய் எண்ணப்படவில்லை." (1 இராஜாக்கள் 10:21) "சாலொமோனுக்கு நாலாயிரம் இரதக்குதிரைலாயங்களும், பன்னீராயிரம் குதிரை வீரரும் இருந்தார்கள்". ( 1 இராஜாக்கள் 4 : 26 ) "தேவன் சாலொமோனுக்கு மிகுதியான ஞானத்தையும் புத்தியையும், கடற்கரை மணலத்தனையான மனோவிருத்தியையும் கொடுத்தார். சகல கிழக்கத்திப் புத்திரரின் ஞானத்தையும் எகிப்தியரின் சகல ஞானத்தையும்பார்க்கிலும் சாலொமோனின் ஞானம் சிறந்ததாயிருந்தது." ( 1 இராஜாக்கள் 4 : 29, 30 )

இத்தனை ஆசீர்வாதங்களை தேவன் அவனுக்கு அளித்திருந்தாலும்,  ஆரம்பத்தில் தேவனுக்கு ஏற்புடையவனாய் வாழ்ந்த அவன் தனது சிற்றின்பப் பெண்ணாசையால் அழிந்தான். ஆயிரம் வைப்பாட்டிகளுடன் வாழ்வை வேசித்தனமாகச் செலவழித்தான் "அவனுக்குப் பிரபுக்கள் குலமான எழுநூறு மனையாட்டிகளும், முந்நூறு மறுமனையாட்டிகளும் இருந்தார்கள்; அவனுடைய ஸ்திரீகள் அவன் இருதயத்தை வழுவிப்போகப்பண்ணினார்கள்." ( 1 இராஜாக்கள் 11 : 3 ) என்று வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

ஆனால் நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோ தேவனாக இருந்தவர். அற்பமான மனிதனாகிய சாலமோனைப் போன்றவரல்ல. அவர் தேவனுக்கு நிகராக இருந்தவர். தேவ குமாரனாக இருந்தவர். ஆனாலும் சாலமோனைப்போல பகட்டாக வாழவில்லை. 

"அவர் தேவனுடைய ரூபமாயிருந்தும், தேவனுக்குச் சமமாயிருப்பதைக் கொள்ளையாடின பொருளாக எண்ணாமல், . தம்மைத்தாமே வெறுமையாக்கி, அடிமையின் ரூபமெடுத்து, மனுஷர் சாயலானார். அவர் மனுஷரூபமாய்க் காணப்பட்டு, மரணபரியந்தம், அதாவது சிலுவையின் மரணபரியந்தமும் கீழ்ப்படிந்தவராகி, தம்மைத்தாமே தாழ்த்தினார். ஆதலால் தேவன் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக அவரை உயர்த்தி,. இயேசுவின் நாமத்தில் வானோர் பூதலத்தோர் பூமியின் கீழானோருடைய முழங்கால் யாவும் முடங்கும்படிக்கும், பிதாவாகிய தேவனுக்கு மகிமையாக இயேசுகிறிஸ்து கர்த்தரென்று நாவுகள் யாவும் அறிக்கைபண்ணும்படிக்கும், எல்லா நாமத்திற்கும் மேலான நாமத்தை அவருக்குத் தந்தருளினார். (பிலிப்பியர் 2:26-10)

ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இன்று  சாலமோனைப்போல மிகுதியான செல்வமும் ஞானமும் நமக்கு இருந்தாலும் சாலமோனிலும் பெரியவரான இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை வாழ்வில் அறியாதவர்களாக இருப்போமானால் அதனால் எந்தப்  பயனுமில்லை. அத்தகைய வாழ்வு இறுதியில் சாலமோனின் வாழ்வைப்போலவே இருக்கும். எனவே, கிறிஸ்துவை நமது இருதயத்தில் வரவழைப்போம். நமது பாவங்களை அவரிடம் அறிக்கையிட்டு பாவமன்னிப்பை வேண்டுவோம். சாலமோனைவிடப் பெரியவரான அவர் நம்மை ஆட்சிசெய்ய நம்மை அவருக்கு ஒப்படைப்போம்.

AATHAVAN – Monday, 13 October 2025

“The Queen of the South will rise up with this generation at the judgment and will condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.” — Matthew 12:42

King Solomon, the son of David, was the greatest king of Israel. He was the one who built the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. God appeared to Solomon twice and revealed Himself to him. When the Lord said, “Ask what you wish Me to give you,” Solomon asked God for wisdom. Pleased with this request, God granted him not only wisdom but also great wealth and honour that he had not asked for.

“All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None was of silver; it was not considered valuable in the days of Solomon.” — 1 Kings 10:21

“Solomon had 4,000 stalls for horses and chariots and 12,000 horsemen.” — 1 Kings 4:26

“Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore. Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.” — 1 Kings 4:29–30

Though God blessed Solomon abundantly, the one who began his life pleasing to God later turned away because of his lust and worldly pleasures. He lived indulgently with his many wives and concubines: “He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned his heart away.” — 1 Kings 11:3

But our Lord Jesus Christ is far greater than Solomon. Unlike Solomon—a mere man—Jesus is God Himself. He is the Son of God, equal with the Father, yet He did not live in splendour or luxury as Solomon did.

“Although He existed in the form of God, He did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason, also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” — Philippians 2:6–11 (NASB)

Dearly beloved, even if we possess great wealth and wisdom like Solomon, it is of no value if we do not know Jesus Christ, who is greater than Solomon. Such a life will end in emptiness just as Solomon’s did.

Therefore, let us invite Christ into our hearts today. Let us confess our sins before Him and seek His forgiveness. Let us surrender our lives to Him, the One greater than Solomon, and allow Him to reign within us.

🦋 Meditation verse - மத்தேயு 12 : 41 / Matthew 12:41

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1709                                           ஆதவன் 12.10.2025 ஞாயிறு    

"யோனாவின் பிரசங்கத்தைக் கேட்டு நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் மனந்திரும்பினார்கள். இதோ, யோனாவிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார். " ( மத்தேயு 12 : 41 )

நேற்றைய தியானத்தில் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தேவாலயத்தைவிடப் பெரியவர் என்று பார்த்தோம். இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துத் தன்னை யோனாவிலும் பெரியவர் என்று கூறுகின்றார்.

யோனா தீர்க்கத்தரிசி கிறிஸ்துவுக்குச் சுமார் எண்ணூறு ஆண்டுகளுக்குமுன் வாழ்ந்தவர். இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் யோனா தீர்க்கத்தரிசியின் வாழ்க்கைச் சரித்திரத்தை நன்கு அறிந்திருந்தனர். யோனாவை மிகப்பெரிய தீர்க்கத்தரிசி என எண்ணிக்கொண்டனர். எனவே, இயேசு யோனாவை உதாரணம் காட்டிப் பேசுகின்றார். 

யோனாவைவிட இயேசு என்னென்ன விதத்தில் பெரியவர் என்று பார்ப்போமானால் இயேசு கூறியதன் பொருளை நாம் புரிந்துகொள்ள முடியும். முதலாவது, யோனா தேவனது அழைப்பைப் புறக்கணித்து ஓடிய சாதாரண மனிதன். ஆனால் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோ தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை; அவரது ஒரே பேறான மகன் (யோவான் 1;14). பாவமில்லாத தலைமைக் குரு (எபிரெயர் 4:15)

யோனா, தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல் தப்பி ஓடியவர்; ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோ சிலுவையின் மரணம்வரை பிதாவுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடந்தவர் (பிலிப்பியர் 2;8)

யோனா தனக்குத் தேவன் அளித்தச் செய்தியை மக்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தியவர். ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோ, தானே தேவனானதால் அதிகாரத்தோடு போதித்தவர் (மத்தேயு 7:28-29)

யோனா, மரணத்துக்கு அடையாளமாக மூன்றுநாள் மீனின் வயிற்றிலிருந்துவிட்டு வெளிவந்தவர்; இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோ உண்மையாகவே மரணத்தை அனுபவித்து உயிர்த்து வெளிவந்தவர். 

யோனா, பாவத்துக்கு மனம்திரும்பவும் இல்லையானால் தேவன் அளிக்கும் தீர்ப்பு  உண்டு என்றும் பிரசாங்கத்தார்; நமது ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து மனம் திரும்பும்போது உண்டாகும் பாவ மன்னிப்பு, மற்றும் மறுபடி பிறக்கும் அனுபவம் இவைகளைக்குறித்து பிரசங்கித்தார்; அந்த அனுபவங்களை மக்களுக்கு அளித்தார். 

யோனா, நினிவே நகருக்கு மட்டும் தேவனது செய்தியினைக் கொடுத்தார். ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோ அனைத்து உலகத்தின் இரட்சகராக இருக்கின்றார். 

மேலும், நினிவே மக்களின் மனந்திரும்புதல் தற்காலிகமானது; அந்த நகரம் பின்னர் விழுந்தது (நாகூம் 3:1-7) ஆனால், இயேசு “தம்மைக் கேட்கிற எல்லாருக்கும்” நித்திய இரட்சிப்பை அளிக்கிறார் (எபிரெயர் 5:9).

தம்மை “யோனாவை விடப் பெரியவர்” என்று அறிவிப்பதன் மூலம், இயேசு தம்மையே வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட மேசியா என்று அறிவித்தார்; ஆனால் பரிசேயர்கள் கேட்ட புதிய அடையாளத்தை அவர்களுக்கு அவர் கொடுக்கவில்லை.

ஆனால் இன்றும் பல கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் பரிதபிக்கத்தக்க விதத்தில் கிறிஸ்துவைவிட மற்றவர்களுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்து வாழ்கின்றனர்.  எல்லா இறைவாக்கினர்களையும்விட, எல்லாப் புனிதர்களையும்விட இயேசு கிறிஸ்தவர் பெரியவர் என்பதனை உணர்ந்து அறிக்கையிட்டு அந்தச் சத்தியத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியும்போதுதான் நாம் வாழ்வில் இரட்சிப்பு அனுபவத்தைப் பெறமுடியும். 

"அடையாளங்களினாலும் அற்புதங்களினாலும் பலவிதமான பலத்த செய்கைகளினாலும், தம்முடைய சித்தத்தின்படி பகிர்ந்துகொடுத்த பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் வரங்களினாலும், தேவன் தாமே சாட்சி கொடுத்ததுமாயிருக்கிற இவ்வளவு பெரிதான இரட்சிப்பைக்குறித்து நாம் கவலையற்றிருப்போமானால் தண்டனைக்கு எப்படித் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ளுவோம்?" ( எபிரெயர் 2 : 4 )

AATHAVAN – Sunday, 12 October 2025

“The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.” — Matthew 12:41 (NASB)

In yesterday’s meditation, we reflected on how the Lord Jesus Christ is greater than the temple. Today’s meditation verse reveals another profound truth — Jesus declares that He is greater than Jonah.

Jonah the prophet lived nearly eight hundred years before Christ. The people of Israel were well acquainted with the life story of Jonah and held him in great esteem as a prophet. Therefore, Jesus referred to Jonah as an example familiar to His hearers.

To understand what Jesus meant when He said He was greater than Jonah, let us consider how He surpasses Jonah in every way.

First, Jonah was a mere man who fled from God’s call. But the Lord Jesus Christ is the Word of God Himself, the only begotten Son of the Father — “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us.” (John 1:14, NASB) He is the sinless High Priest — “One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15, NASB)

Jonah disobeyed God and ran away. But Jesus Christ obeyed the Father even to the point of death on the cross — “He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, death on a cross.” (Philippians 2:8, NASB)

Jonah merely conveyed God’s message to the people.

But Jesus Christ, being God Himself, taught with authority — “The crowds were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.” (Matthew 7:28–29, NASB)

Jonah came out of the belly of the fish after three days as a symbol of death and resurrection. But Jesus truly experienced death and rose again victoriously.

Jonah preached repentance to avoid divine judgment. But Jesus Christ preached not only repentance but also forgiveness of sins and the new birth, granting these blessings to those who believed in Him.

Jonah carried God’s message only to the city of Nineveh. But Jesus Christ is the Savior of the whole world.

Moreover, Nineveh’s repentance was temporary; the city later fell — “Woe to the bloody city… I will lift up your skirts over your face… All who see you will shrink from you.” (Nahum 3:1–7, NASB) But Jesus offers eternal salvation — “To all those who obey Him.” (Hebrews 5:9, NASB)

By declaring that He is “greater than Jonah,” Jesus identified Himself as the promised Messiah. Yet the Pharisees, demanding new signs, received none beyond this divine revelation.

Even today, many Christians sadly give more importance to others than to Christ Himself. Only when we acknowledge and submit to the truth that Jesus Christ is greater than all prophets and saints will we experience the true joy of salvation.

“How will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard, God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.” (Hebrews 2:3–4, NASB)

🦋 Meditation verse - மத்தேயு 12 : 6 / Matthew 12:6

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1708                                           ஆதவன் 11.10.2025 சனி   

"தேவாலயத்திலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்." ( மத்தேயு 12 : 6 )

ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தனது தெய்வீகத்தை யூத மக்களுக்கு இந்த வசனத்தின்மூலம் விளக்குகின்றார். ஆனால்,  யூதர்கள் அதனை  முழுமையாகப் புரிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை. யூதர்களுக்கு எருசலேம் ஆலயம் சிறப்புமிக்கது. அவர்கள் அந்த ஆலயத்தின் பிரமாண்டத்தைப் பார்த்து வியந்தனர்.  அந்த ஆலயத்துக்குச் செல்வதை மிகவும் விரும்பினர். இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவும் ஆலயத்துக்குச் சென்றார். ஆனால் அவர் அங்கு சென்ற நோக்கம் வேறு,  மனிதர்கள் இன்று ஆலயங்களுக்குச் செல்லும் நோக்கம் வேறு. இங்கு இயேசு கிறிஸ்துத் தன்னை தேவாலயத்திலும் பெரியவர் என்று கூறுகின்றார். 

இன்றும் பல கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் குறிப்பிட்டச் சில  ஆலயங்களில் மட்டும் ஏதோ வல்லமை இருப்பதாக எண்ணிக்கொண்டு பல்வேறு ஆலயங்களைத்தேடி ஓடுகின்றனர். ஆனால் ஆலயத்தைவிடப் பெரியவரான இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளும் மனநிலையினை  விட்டுவிடுகின்றனர். அவரை நாம் தேடி ஓடவேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை, அவர் இங்கே, நமது அருகாமையில்தான் இருக்கின்றார். அவரை நாம் கண்டுகொள்வோமானால் அவர் நம்முள்ளே வந்து தங்கிட ஆர்வமுள்ளவராக இருக்கின்றார். அப்போது நாமே அவரது ஆலயமாகிவிடுவோம். எனவேதான், "தேவனுடைய ஆலயம் பரிசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது; நீங்களே அந்த ஆலயம்." ( 1 கொரிந்தியர் 3 : 17 ) என்கின்றார் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர். 

"ஆகிலும் உன்னதமானவர் கைகளினால் செய்யப்பட்ட ஆலயங்களில் வாசமாயிரார். வானம் எனக்குச் சிங்காசனமும் பூமி எனக்குப் பாதபடியுமாயிருக்கிறது; எனக்காக நீங்கள் எப்படிப்பட்ட வீட்டைக் கட்டுவீர்கள்; நான் தங்கியிருக்கத்தக்க ஸ்தலம் எது;" ( அப்போஸ்தலருடைய நடபடிகள் 7 : 48-49 ) ஆம், மனிதர்களாகிய நமது இதயம்தான் தேவனது ஆலயம். அவர் அதனுள் வந்து தங்கிடவே விரும்புகின்றார்.

நாம் தேவாலயங்களை நம்புகின்றோமா அல்லது தேவாலயத்தைவிடப் பெரியவரை நம்புகின்றோமா என்று நம்மை நாமே நிதானித்துப் பார்ப்போம். கிறிஸ்து நமக்குள் இருப்பது ஒரு இரகசியம் என்கிறார் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல். கிறிஸ்துவுக்கேற்ற வாழ்க்கை வாழும்போது மட்டுமே இந்த இரகசியம் நமக்குப் புரியும். "புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே விளங்கிய இந்த இரகசியத்திலுள்ள மகிமையின் ஐசுவரியம் இன்னதென்று, தேவன் தம்முடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்தச் சித்தமானார்; கிறிஸ்துவானவர் மகிமையின் நம்பிக்கையாக உங்களுக்குள் இருப்பதே அந்த இரகசியம்." ( கொலோசெயர் 1 : 27 ) இப்படி நமக்குள்ளே அவரைக் கண்டுகொள்வோமானால் வெளியிலே தேடி அலையமாட்டோம். 

மட்டுமல்ல, இன்று இதனைப் புரிந்துகொள்ளாததால் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் பல ஆயிரம் லட்சம் என பணத்தை கோவில்களை மின்விளக்குகளாலும் தோரணங்களாலும் அலங்கரிக்கின்றனர். தங்களையோ பரிசுத்தமாய் அலங்கரிக்க மறந்துவிடுகின்றனர். "அழியாத அலங்கரிப்பாயிருக்கிற சாந்தமும் அமைதலுமுள்ள ஆவியாகிய இருதயத்தில் மறைந்திருக்கிற குணமே உங்களுக்கு அலங்காரமாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அதுவே தேவனுடைய பார்வையில் விலையேறப்பெற்றது." ( 1 பேதுரு 3 : 4 ) என்று அப்போஸ்தலரான பேதுரு நம்மை அறிவுறுத்தவில்லையா? தேவாலயத்தைவிடப் பெரியவரை நாம் நமக்குள் கண்டுகொள்வோமானால் வெளி அலங்கரிப்புகளுக்கல்ல, மாறாக அகஅலங்கரிப்புக்கே முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கின்றவர்களாக இருப்போம்.

இறுதியாக, அப்போஸ்தலரான யோவானுக்குத் தேவன் வெளிப்படுத்தியதை நாம் பின்வருமாறு வாசிக்கின்றோம்:- "பன்னிரண்டு வாசல்களும் பன்னிரண்டு முத்துக்களாயிருந்தன; ஒவ்வொரு வாசலும் ஒவ்வொரு முத்தாயிருந்தது. நகரத்தின் வீதி தெளிவுள்ள பளிங்குபோலச் சுத்தப்பொன்னாயிருந்தது. அதிலே தேவாலயத்தை நான் காணவில்லை; சர்வவல்லமையுள்ள தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரும் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவருமே அதற்கு ஆலயம்." ( வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 21 : 21-22 )

ஆம், தேவாலயத்தை அழகுபடுத்துவதைவிட  தேவாலயத்தைவிடப் பெரியவரான சர்வவல்லமையுள்ள தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரும் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவருக்குப் பிரியமாக நம்மை அழகுபடுத்துவோம்.  காரணம், அவர்  தேவாலயத்திலும் பெரியவர்.

AATHAVAN – Saturday, 11 October 2025

“But I say to you that something greater than the temple is here.” (Matthew 12:6, NASB)

The Lord Jesus Christ, through this verse, reveals His divine nature to the Jewish people. However, they could not fully understand it. To the Jews, the temple in Jerusalem was of utmost importance. They admired its grandeur and longed to visit it often. Jesus too went to the temple, but His purpose in going there was entirely different from that of most people today.

Here, Jesus declares that He is greater than the temple.

Even today, many Christians believe that certain church buildings possess some special power, and they travel from place to place seeking such churches. But they miss the true essence — the One who is greater than the temple, Jesus Christ Himself.

We need not run in search of Him, for He is near us. If we will only recognize Him, He desires to dwell within us. When that happens, we ourselves become His temple. That is why the Apostle Paul says,

“The temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.” (1 Corinthians 3:17, NASB)

Furthermore, Stephen declares: “However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says: ‘Heaven is My throne, And the earth is the footstool of My feet; What kind of house will you build for Me?’ says the Lord, ‘Or what place is there for My rest?’” (Acts 7:48–49, NASB) Yes, the human heart is the true temple of God, and He longs to dwell within it.

Let us, therefore, examine ourselves: Do we place our trust in church buildings, or in the One who is greater than the temple?

The Apostle Paul calls this a mystery — that Christ is within us. Only when we live a life worthy of Him can we understand this mystery.

“God willed to make known what the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles is, the mystery that is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27, NASB) When we truly discover Him within us, we will no longer wander about searching for Him outside.

Sadly, because many fail to understand this truth, Christians today spend vast sums decorating church buildings with lights and ornaments, yet neglect to adorn their hearts with holiness. The Apostle Peter gently reminds us: “But let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.” (1 Peter 3:4, NASB)

When we recognize the One who is greater than the temple within us, our focus will shift from outward decoration to inner adornment — from beautifying buildings to beautifying our hearts for His dwelling.

Finally, let us look at what God revealed to the Apostle John: “And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.” (Revelation 21:21–22, NASB)

Yes, rather than adorning temples made by hands, let us adorn ourselves — for the Almighty Lord God and the Lamb, who is greater than the temple, dwell within us.

🦋 Meditation verse - சங்கீதம் 34 : 18 / Psalm 34:18

 "விதைகளின் உள்ளே" 🌳 

வேதாகமத் தியானம் எண் - 1707                                          ஆதவன் 10.10.2025 வெள்ளி  

"நொறுங்குண்ட இருதயமுள்ளவர்களுக்குக் கர்த்தர் சமீபமாயிருந்து, நருங்குண்ட ஆவியுள்ளவர்களை இரட்சிக்கிறார்." ( சங்கீதம் 34 : 18 )

நொறுங்குண்ட இருதயம் என்பது வாழ்க்கையில் எந்த நம்பிக்கையுமற்ற நிலையிலிருக்கும் மக்களது இருதயம். ஏதாவது காரணத்தால் இந்த இருதய நொறுக்குதல் ஒருவருக்கு ஏற்பட்டிருக்கலாம். நல்ல ஒரு படிப்புப் பின்னணி இருந்தும் படிப்புக்கேற்ற வேலையில்லாத நிலையாக இருக்கலாம், மருத்துவர்களால் கைவிடப்பட்ட கொடிய நோயாக இருக்கலாம், அனைத்துச் செல்வங்களையும் சொத்துக்களையும் இழக்கக்கூடிய மிகப்பெரிய கடன் பிரச்சனையாக இருக்கலாம், குடும்பத்தினரால் வெறுத்து ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட நிலையாக இருக்கலாம்  அல்லது திருமணமாகி பல ஆண்டுகள் கடந்தபின்னரும் ஒரு குழந்தைபாக்கியம் இல்லாத நிலையாக இருக்கலாம். இத்தகைய நிலைமைகள் மனிதர்களது இருதயத்தை நொறுங்கச் செய்துவிடும். 

ஆனால் பலரும் இத்தகையச் சூழ்நிலை ஏற்படும்போது விசுவாசத்தில் தளர்ச்சியடைந்து பல்வேறு மாற்று தெய்வ வழிபாடுகளையோ, ஜோசியம் பார்த்தல் அல்லது ஜாதகம் கணித்தல் போன்ற வழிகளையோ நாடுகின்றனர். தற்காலிக மன அமைதிக்காக போதைப்பொருட்களை நாடுகின்றனர்.  மேலும் சிலர் தற்கொலை எனும் விபரீத முடிவினை எடுக்கின்றனர்.  ஆனால் இத்தகைய சூழ்நிலைகளில் தேவனை நோக்கித் திரும்புபவர்கள் வெகுசிலர்தான்.  அன்பானவர்களே, "தேவனுக்கேற்கும் பலிகள்   நொறுங்குண்ட  ஆவிதான்; தேவனே, நொறுங்குண்டதும் நருங்குண்டதுமான இருதயத்தை நீர் புறக்கணியீர்".  (சங்கீதம் 51:17) என்று நாம் வேதத்தில் வாசிக்கின்றோம். 

இந்த அண்டசராசரங்களையும் உருவாக்கியவர் அவர். உடைந்த உள்ளதோடு அந்தத் தேவனை நாம் நோக்கிப்பார்க்கும்போது அவரும் நம்மை நோக்கிப் பார்க்கின்றார்; நமக்கு ஆறுதலும் விடுதலையும் தருகின்றார். ஆம், "என்னுடைய கரம் இவைகளையெல்லாம் சிருஷ்டித்ததினால் இவைகளெல்லாம் உண்டாயின என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; ஆனாலும் சிறுமைப்பட்டு, ஆவியில் நொறுங்குண்டு, என் வசனத்துக்கு நடுங்குகிறவனையே நோக்கிப்பார்ப்பேன்." ( ஏசாயா 66 : 2 ) என்கிறார் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர். அதாவது எல்லாவற்றையும், எல்லோரையும் நான்தான் உருவாக்கினேன் என்றாலும் ஆவியில் நொறுங்குண்டு, என் வசனத்துக்கு நடுங்குகிறவனையே நோக்கிப்பார்ப்பேன் என்கின்றார்.

நோயுற்ற ஒருவன் தனது நோய்  தீரவேண்டுமானால் மருத்துவரிடம் வரவேண்டியது அவசியம். மருத்துவரிடம் வந்து அவர் தரும் மருத்துவ சிகிர்சைகளுக்கு உடன்பட்டு, அவரது ஆலோசனைகளுக்குத் தன்னைக்  கையளிக்கும்போதுதான்  அவன் நோயிலிருந்து விடுதலை பெறமுடியும். எனவேதான் பரம வைத்தியரான இயேசு இருகரம் நீட்டி அனைவரையும் அழைக்கின்றார், "வருத்தப்பட்டுப் பாரஞ்சுமக்கிறவர்களே! நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிடத்தில் வாருங்கள்; நான் உங்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன்." ( மத்தேயு 11 : 28 ) என்று. 

அவரிடம் வருவது மட்டுமல்ல, அவரது கட்டளைகளாகிய நுகத்தை நாம் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு அவருக்குக் கீழ்படியவேண்டியது அவசியம். அவரது கட்டளைகள் நமது பிரச்சனைகளைவிட பாரமானவைகள் அல்ல. எனவேதான் இயேசு கூறினார், "நான் சாந்தமும் மனத்தாழ்மையுமாய் இருக்கிறேன்; என் நுகத்தை உங்கள்மேல் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, என்னிடத்தில் கற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது உங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் கிடைக்கும். என் நுகம் மெதுவாயும், என் சுமை இலகுவாயும் இருக்கிறது." ( மத்தேயு 11 : 29- 30 )

எசேக்கியா ராஜா நோயிலிருந்து சுகம்பெற இருதயம் நொறுங்கி கண்ணீரோடு ஜெபித்தார்.   "உன் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டேன், உன் கண்ணீரைக் கண்டேன்" (2 இராஜாக்கள் 20:5) என்றுகூறி தேவன் அவரைக் குணமாக்கினார்.  இதுபோலவே,  பரிசேயன் மற்றும் ஆயக்காரன் இருவரும் தேவனிடம் ஜெபித்தார்கள். இருதயம் நொறுங்கி ஜெபித்த  "ஆயக்காரன் தூரத்திலே நின்று, தன் கண்களையும் வானத்துக்கு ஏறெடுக்கத் துணியாமல், தன் மார்பிலே அடித்துக்கொண்டு: தேவனே! பாவியாகிய என்மேல் கிருபையாயிரும் என்றான்." ( லுூக்கா 18 : 13 ) இவனே நீதிமானாக்கப்பட்டான் என்கிறார் இயேசு.

நமது எந்தப் பிரச்சனையாக இருந்தாலும் நாம் தேவனிடம் வரும்போது மேம்போக்காக ஜெபிக்காமல் நமது ஜெபத்தை அவர் கேட்கின்றார், நிச்சயமாக எனது ஜெபத்துக்குப் பதில் தருவார் எனும் எண்ணத்தோடு இருதயத்தின் ஆழத்திலிருந்து ஊக்கமாக ஜெபிப்போம்; குழந்தையில்லாமல் தவித்த அன்னாள் ஜெபித்ததைப்போல நமது  இருதயத்தை தேவ சமூகத்தில் ஊற்றிவிடுவோம். (1 சாமுவேல் 1;15) நிச்சயமாக நமது ஜெபத்துக்கு அவர் பதிலளிப்பார். ஆம், நமது தேவன்,  "இருதயம் நொறுங்குண்டவர்களைக் குணமாக்குகிறார், அவர்களுடைய காயங்களைக் கட்டுகிறார்." ( சங்கீதம் 147 : 3 )

Scripture Meditation No. 1707

AATHAVAN – Friday, 10 October 2025

“The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

A broken heart belongs to those who have lost all hope in life. For some, this brokenness may arise from a specific situation — perhaps being well-educated but unable to find suitable employment, being afflicted with an incurable disease that even doctors have given up on, being trapped in overwhelming debt that has cost one’s wealth and property, being rejected and abandoned by family members, or being childless after many years of marriage. Such situations crush a person’s heart deeply.

Many, when facing such circumstances, lose faith and turn to other gods, fortune-telling, or astrology. Some resort to drugs or alcohol seeking temporary peace of mind, while others tragically choose suicide. Yet, only a few turn toward God in such moments. Dear beloved, the Scripture says,

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.” (Psalm 51:17 NASB)

He is the Creator of the universe and everything in it. When we look to Him with a broken heart, He looks back at us with compassion, bringing comfort and deliverance. Truly, the Lord declares: “For My hand made all these things, So all these things came into being,” declares the Lord. “But I will look to this one, At one who is humble and contrite in spirit, And who trembles at My word.” (Isaiah 66:2 NASB)

Even though God created everything and everyone, He says He will look with favour only upon those who are humble, contrite in spirit, and who tremble at His Word.

When a sick person desires healing, it is essential that he goes to a doctor. Only when he submits himself to the doctor’s care and follows the prescribed treatment can he recover. In the same way, our Great Physician — Jesus Christ — stretches out His hands and calls to all: “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 NASB)

It is not enough to merely come to Him; we must also accept His yoke and obey His commands. His yoke is not heavier than our problems. That’s why Jesus said: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29–30 NASB)

King Hezekiah prayed to God with tears when he was sick, and God said, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I am going to heal you.”

(2 Kings 20:5 NASB) Similarly, Jesus told the story of the Pharisee and the tax collector who both prayed. The tax collector stood far off, and, “was even unwilling to raise his eyes toward heaven, but was beating his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’” (Luke 18:13 NASB) It was this man, Jesus said, who went home justified before God.

Whatever our problem may be, when we come to God, let us not pray casually. Let us pray earnestly from the depths of our hearts, believing that He hears and will surely answer. Like Hannah, who poured out her soul before the Lord in her anguish (1 Samuel 1:15), let us pour out our hearts in God’s presence. Surely, He will respond.

Yes, our God — “He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3 NASB)
