📖 ஆதவன் வேதாகமத் தியானம் - எண் 1886

"எலியா என்பவன் நம்மைப்போலப் பாடுள்ள மனுஷனாயிருந்தும், மழைபெய்யாதபடிக்குக் கருத்தாய் ஜெபம்பண்ணினான், அப்பொழுது மூன்றுவருஷமும் ஆறுமாதமும் பூமியின்மேல் மழை பெய்யவில்லை.  மறுபடியும் ஜெபம்பண்ணினான், அப்பொழுது வானம் மழையைப் பொழிந்தது, பூமி தன் பலனைத் தந்தது." (யாக்கோபு 5:17, 18)

எலியா, எலிசா போன்ற மனிதர்களைக் குறித்து வேதாகமத்தில் வாசிக்கும்போது அவர்கள் மற்றவர்களிலிருந்து வித்தியாசமானவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள் என்று பலரும் எண்ணிக்கொள்கின்றனர். ஆனால், அப்படியல்ல. அவர்கள் தோற்றத்திலும், செயல்பாடுகளிலும், மனித பலவீனங்களிலும் நம்மைப்போல இருந்தவர்களே என்று இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தில் கூறுகின்றார் யாக்கோபு. ஆம், இப்படி நம்மைப்போலப் பாடுள்ள மனுஷனாயிருந்தும், மழைபெய்யாதபடிக்கு ஜெபித்து வானத்தை அடைந்தவர் அவர். 

தேவன் இந்த உலகத்தில் தனது செயல்பாடுகளுக்கும் பணிகளுக்கும் உலகத்திலுள்ள அற்பமான மனிதர்களைத்தான் பயன்படுத்துகின்றார்.  தேவ மனிதர்கள் மற்றவர்களிலிருந்து வித்தியாசமானவர்கள் அல்ல. மாறாக, அவர்களும் மற்றவர்களைப்போல பாடுகளும் துன்பங்களும் அனுபவிக்கும் மனிதர்கள்தான். 

வானத்திலிருந்து அக்கினியை இறக்கி கர்த்தரே மெய்யான தேவன் என்பதனை பாகால் தீர்க்கத்தரிகளுக்கு எடுத்துரைத்தவர்தான் எலியா. 450 பாகால் தீர்க்கத்தரிசிகளை வெட்டிக் கொலைசெய்தவர்தான் இவர். ஆனால் இந்த எலியா ஆகாபுக்கும் யேசபேலுக்கும் பயந்து ஓடினார் என்பதால் அவருக்கு மற்ற மனிதர்களைப்போல  உயிர் பயம் இருந்தது என்று நாம் அறிந்துகொள்ளலாம். உணவின்றி தவித்த அவருக்கு சாதாரண மனிதர்களைப்போல பசி இருந்தது. காகங்கள்மூலம் தேவன் அவருக்கு  உணவளித்தார். 

மட்டுமல்ல, தேவதூதன்மூலமும் தேவன் எலியாவுக்கு உணவளித்தார். யேசபேலுக்குப் பயந்து ஓடியபோது மனம் மடிவடைந்து "அவன் வனாந்தரத்தில் ஒருநாள் பிரயாணம் போய், ஒரு சூரைச்செடியின் கீழ் உட்கார்ந்து, தான் சாகவேண்டும் என்று கோரி: போதும் கர்த்தாவே, என் ஆத்துமாவை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும்; நான் என் பிதாக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் நல்லவன் அல்ல என்று சொல்லி, ஒரு சூரைச்செடியின்கீழ்ப் படுத்துக்கொண்டு நித்திரைபண்ணினான்; அப்பொழுது ஒரு தூதன் அவனைத் தட்டியெழுப்பி: எழுந்திருந்து போஜனம்பண்ணு என்றான்." ( 1 இராஜாக்கள் 19 : 4, 5 )

துன்பங்கள் நெருக்கும்போது வேதனையுடன் சிலர் ஜெபிப்பதுபோல, "ஆண்டவரே நான் சாகவேண்டும், என்னை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும்" என்று ஜெபித்த சாதாரண மனிதனைவிட கீழானவராகவே இந்த எலியாவை நாம் பார்க்கின்றோம். ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே,  நம்மைப்போல பாடுள்ள சாதாரண மனிதனாகவே எலியா இருந்தார். ஆனால் அவர் ஜெபம் செய்தபோது, "மூன்றுவருஷமும் ஆறுமாதமும் பூமியின்மேல் மழை பெய்யவில்லை.  மறுபடியும் ஜெபம்பண்ணினான், அப்பொழுது வானம் மழையைப் பொழிந்தது, பூமி தன் பலனைத் தந்தது."

தேவன் பயன்படுத்தும் மனிதர்களாக நாம் இருக்கவேண்டுமென்றால் நாம் துன்பங்களையும் பாடுகளையும் சகிக்கிறவர்களாகவும் இருக்கவேண்டியது அவசியம். மட்டுமல்ல, பாடுகளும் துன்பங்களும் அனுபவிக்கும் மனிதர்கள் பாவிகளுமல்ல என்பதனையே இன்றைய தியான வசனம் மூலம் நாம் உணர்ந்துகொள்கின்றோம். ஒருவேளை, நாம் அன்றாட வாழ்வில் நாம் சந்திக்கும் பாடுகள் அனுபவிக்கும் சிலர் தேவன் பயன்படுத்திக்கொண்டிருக்கும் எலியாவைப்போன்றவர்களாகவும் இருக்கலாம். 

எனவேதான் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து, "இந்தச் சிறியரில் ஒருவனையும் அற்பமாய் எண்ணாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; அவர்களுக்குரிய தேவதூதர்கள் பரலோகத்திலே என் பரமபிதாவின் சமுகத்தை எப்போதும் தரிசிக்கிறார்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்." ( மத்தேயு 18 : 10 ) என்று கூறினார். 

நாம் சந்திக்கும் அற்பமான மனிதர்களை இழிவாக எண்ணாமல் இருப்போம். ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் தேவன் பயன்படுத்த ஆயத்தப்படுத்தும் பாத்திரங்களாக இருக்கலாம். அவர்களுக்குரிய தேவதூதர்கள் பரலோகத்திலே பரமபிதாவின் சமுகத்தை எப்போதும் தரிசிப்பவர்களாக இருக்கலாம்.  மழைபெய்யாமல் வானத்தை அடைக்கவும் திறக்கவும் (அரிய செயல்கள் செய்ய) தேவன் அவர்களைப் பயன்படுத்த முடியும். எனவே வெளித் தோற்றத்தைப்பார்த்து யாரையும் நாம் அற்பமாக எண்ணாதிருப்போம்.

"Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit." (James 5:17, 18)

When reading about men like Elijah and Elisha in the Bible, many people think they were fundamentally different from others. However, that is not the case. In today’s meditation verse, James says that they were just like us in appearance, actions, and human weaknesses. Yes, even though he was "a man with a nature like ours," he was the one who prayed earnestly for the rain to stop and shut up the heavens.

God uses the humble and ordinary people of this world for His works and purposes. Men of God are not inherently different from others. On the contrary, they are human beings who experience the same sufferings and trials as everyone else.

Elijah was the one who brought fire down from heaven to demonstrate to the prophets of Baal that the Lord is the true God. He was the one who executed 450 prophets of Baal. Yet, we see that this same Elijah fled in fear of Ahab and Jezebel, showing us that he possessed the same fear for his life that any other human would. When he was without food, he felt hunger just like any ordinary person, and God fed him through ravens.

Furthermore, God also fed Elijah through an angel. When he fled from Jezebel, he was deeply discouraged and desired to die: "But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, 'It is enough; now, O Lord, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers.' He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, there was an angel touching him, and he said to him, 'Arise, eat.'" (1 Kings 19:4, 5)

We see Elijah here as someone who felt even lower than an ordinary person, praying in agony as some do when overwhelmed by troubles, saying, "Lord, I want to die, take me." Yes, dear ones, Elijah was a common man with a nature just like ours. Yet, when he prayed, "it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit."

If we are to be people used by God, it is essential that we are also those who endure trials and sufferings. Moreover, through today's meditation, we realize that people who experience suffering and pain are not necessarily sinners. Perhaps, some of those we see experiencing hardships in daily life are like the Elijahs whom God is currently using.

That is why the Lord Jesus Christ said: "See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 18:10)

Let us not look down upon the humble people we encounter. They may be the vessels God is preparing to use. Their angels may be those who continually behold the face of the Heavenly Father in heaven. God can use them to perform great deeds—to shut the heavens and to open them so that it rains. Therefore, let us not despise anyone based on outward appearance.

"நாய்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள், பொல்லாத வேலையாட்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள். சுன்னத்துக்காரருக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்." ( பிலிப்பியர் 3 : 2 )

மனுக்குலத்தின் பாவங்களையும் சாபங்களையும் போக்கி அவர்களை நித்தியஜீவனுக்குத் தகுதிப்படுத்திட ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு  கிறிஸ்து பட்டப்பாடுகள் மனுக்குலம் அறியாத ஒன்றல்ல. ஆனால், ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பாடுகளின் வழியாக தனது சுய இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தி உண்டாக்கிய மீட்பினை நாம் சில வெளியரங்கமான சடங்குகளை மேற்கொள்வதன்மூலம் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளலாம் என்று  போதிப்பவர்களை நாய்கள் என்று கோபத்தில் கூறுகின்றார் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர். இப்படிப் போதித்தவர்கள் பிலிப்பிய சபை விசுவாசிகளை அன்று குழப்பத்தில் ஆழ்த்தினர்.

நாய்கள் எச்சிகளையும் கெட்டுப்போன உணவினையும் உட்கொள்ளும் குணமுள்ளவைகள். பழைய ஏற்பாட்டுச் சட்டங்கள் மனிதர்களை மீட்பதற்குப் போதுமானவையாக இல்லாததால்தான் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பூமியில் வந்து பாடுபடவேண்டியிருந்தது. இப்போது கிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபையால்தான் நாம் மீட்கப்படுகின்றோம். அந்தக் கிருபையினை நாம் மறுதலித்து இன்னும் பாவத்திலிருந்தும் சாபத்திலிருந்தும்  மீட்படைய பழைய ஏற்பாட்டு முறைமைகளையும் ஒருசில உடலை வருத்தும்  சடங்காச்சாரங்களையும்  வலியுறுத்திக்கொண்டும் அவைகளைச் செய்துகொண்டும் இருப்போமானால் நாம் நாய்களைப்போல பழைய கெட்டுப்போன உணவினை உண்பவர்கள் என்று பொருள்.

எனவே, அத்தகைய போதகர்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள், அந்தப் பொல்லாத வேலையாட்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்,  அத்தகைய போதனைகளைப் போதிக்கும் சுன்னத்துக்காரருக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள் என்கின்றார் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர். சுன்னத்துக்காரர்கள் (மீட்படைய விருத்தசேதனம் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று வலியுறுத்தி போதிப்பவர்கள்) என்பதற்கு, உடலை வருத்தும் ஒருசில முறைமைகளைச் செய்யும்படி கூறுபவர்கள் என்று நாம் இன்று பொருள்கொள்ளலாம். 

எனவேதான் இன்றைய தியான வசனத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து அடுத்த வசனமாக அவர் கூறுகின்றார், "ஏனெனில் மாம்சத்தின்மேல் நம்பிக்கையாயிராமல், ஆவியினாலே தேவனுக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்து, கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குள் மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிற நாமே விருத்தசேதனமுள்ளவர்கள்." ( பிலிப்பியர் 3 : 3 ) ஆம் அன்பானவர்களே, இன்று கிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசித்து ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட நாம்தான் தேவனுக்குமுன் விருத்தசேதனமுள்ளவர்கள். 

புதிய ஏற்பாடு கிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபையின் அடிப்படையிலானது. இதனைப் புரிந்துகொள்ளாமல் இன்னும் பாவமன்னிப்புக்காக, சாப நிவிர்த்திக்காக தேவையில்லாத பரிகாரங்களை நாம் செய்துகொண்டும் அவைகளை நம்பிக்கொண்டும் இருப்போமானால் கிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபையினை வீணாக்குகின்றோம் என்று பொருள்.  எனவேதான் பவுல் அப்போஸ்தலர், "நான் தேவனுடைய கிருபையை விருதாவாக்குகிறதில்லை; நீதியானது நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே வருமானால் கிறிஸ்து மரித்தது வீணாயிருக்குமே." ( கலாத்தியர் 2 : 21 ) என்கின்றார். பழைய கட்டளைகளே போதுமென்றால் கிறிஸ்து மரிக்கவேண்டிய அவசியேமேயில்லை. 

அன்பானவர்களே, கிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபையினை நம்பாமலும் விசுவாசிக்காமலும் இருந்துகொண்டு இன்னும் நாம் பழைய ஏற்பாட்டு முறைமைகளையும், போதனைகளையும் அவை கூறுவதுபோல சில சடங்காச்சாரங்களையும்  போதித்துக்கொண்டும் அவற்றின்மேல் நம்பிக்கைக் கொண்டவர்களாகவும் வாழ்வோமென்றால் நாமும் தேவனுடைய பார்வையில் நாய்கள்தான். இப்படி இருப்போமானால் நாம் நித்திய ஜீவனுக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கமுடியாது.  

இப்படி இருப்பது சூனியம் செய்தல், விபச்சாரம், கொலைபாதகம், விக்கிரகாராதனை போன்ற பாவங்களைச் செய்வதுபோன்றது. எனவேதான் வேதம் தெளிவாகக் கூறுகின்றது, "நாய்களும், சூனியக்காரரும், விபசாரக்காரரும், கொலைபாதகரும், விக்கிரகாராதனைக்காரரும், பொய்யை விரும்பி அதின்படி செய்கிற யாவரும் புறம்பே இருப்பார்கள்." ( வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 22 : 15 )  என்று.  "நாய்கள்" என்று அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் கூறிய வார்த்தையினையே இங்கு தேவன் யோவானுக்கும் வெளிப்படுத்தி எச்சரிக்கின்றார். 

பாவம்,  சாபம் இவைகளிலிருந்து விடுபடகிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தத்தால் உண்டாகிய கிருபையினைச் சார்ந்துகொள்ளாமல் உடலை வருத்தும் தேவையில்லாத முறைமைகளை கடைபிடிப்போமானால் அவற்றிலிருந்து விடுபடுவோம்.

"Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision;" (Philippians 3:2)

The sufferings that the Lord Jesus Christ underwent to remove the sins and curses of humanity and to qualify them for eternal life are not unknown to mankind. However, Apostle Paul, in righteous anger, refers to those as "dogs" who teach that the redemption Christ accomplished by shedding His own blood through His sufferings can be obtained by performing certain outward rituals. Such teachers were throwing the believers of the Philippian church into confusion in those days.

Dogs have the nature of consuming scraps and spoiled food. It was because the Old Testament laws were insufficient to redeem humanity that Jesus Christ had to come to earth and suffer. Now, we are redeemed only by the grace of Christ. If we deny that grace and continue to emphasize or perform Old Testament legalisms and certain body-afflicting rituals to seek deliverance from sin and curses, it means we are like dogs eating old, spoiled food.

Therefore, Apostle Paul warns: beware of such teachers, beware of those evil workers, and beware of those of the "false circumcision" who promote such teachings. Today, we can interpret "those of the circumcision" as those who insist on performing certain physical rituals or self-afflicting practices.

This is why, following today’s meditation verse, he states in the very next verse: "for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh," (Philippians 3:3). Yes, dearly beloved, we who have accepted and believed in Christ are the truly circumcised before God.

The New Testament is based on the grace of Christ. Without understanding this, if we continue to perform and rely on unnecessary penances for the forgiveness of sins or the removal of curses, it means we are making the grace of Christ void. That is why Apostle Paul says: "I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly." (Galatians 2:21). If the old commandments were sufficient, there would have been no necessity for Christ to die.

Dearly beloved, if we live without trusting or believing in the grace of Christ, and instead continue to teach and place our confidence in Old Testament systems and rituals, we too are "dogs" in the sight of God. If we remain in this state, we cannot enter into eternal life.

Existing in such a state is likened to committing sins such as sorcery, immorality, murder, and idolatry. Therefore, the Scripture clearly states: "Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying." (Revelation 22:15). The same word "dogs" used by Apostle Paul is revealed here by God to warn John as well.

Let us abandon unnecessary rituals that afflict the body and instead depend entirely on the grace produced by the blood of Christ to be delivered from sin and curses.
