Hidden from the wise and learned and revealed to children.

"......O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes." (Matthew 11:25)

A person may be the best in any field in this world, but that does not mean he is omniscient or a great genius. He will have some weakness. You will know that only if you get close to him.

Albert Einstein is hailed as the greatest scientist in the world. Although he was a genius in science, his knowledge was a barrier to knowing God.

Albert Einstein was the most intelligent person ever born in the history of this world. Amazed by his knowledge, scientists preserved his brain after his death and researched how this man's brain thought like this and how his brain was different from other people's brains.

But one incident in his life will surprise us. Once he was traveling by train to somewhere. The ticket inspector of the train came to him and asked him to show the ticket. Einstein searched everywhere, his shirt, his trousers, the pocket of the coat he was wearing. But ticket was  not available.

The ticket examiner who was looking at him, said, "Dr. Einstein, I know you. You must have bought a ticket. No problem, our country is proud of geniuses like you. In fairness, the government should have given you free travel facility...sit down." and moved to the next compartment, 

But Einstein bent down and searched for the ticket under his seat. Noticing that, the ticket inspector said, "Dr. Einstein, it's okay, I don't need it." To which Einstein replied, "Sir, you may not need it, but I need it. I know where I am going by seeing it only."

Isn't it surprising that the man who was hailed by the world as the greatest genius traveled in the world without knowing where he was going? It is no wonder that the thought of the afterlife was a funny story for him when he did not know his worldly journey.

The acclaimed genius Einstein once said of God, “The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this. ...”

Yes, being a genius doesn't mean you know all things. That is why Jesus Christ said, "Father! Lord of heaven and earth! I praise you because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to children." (Matthew 11:25) He said.

Beloved, in this way our knowledge and study can hinder us from knowing God. Let's make sure it doesn't. Let us pray, "Lord, I am dust and dirt, forgive me of my sins and make me know You."

My yoke is easy and my burden is light

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." (Matthew 11:28,29)

When the Bible was written it was not written with Chapter numbers and verse numbers. Numbers were given only after 1200 A.D. These numbers are helpful to find the specific verse easily. But at the same time these numbers hinder our proper understanding of many verses.

Today's verse is the same. Most people only quote Matthew 11:28. Only this verse is written on the walls, stickers and posters. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Jesus didn't stop there. He goes on to say, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matthew 11:29)

A yoke refers to a crossbar placed around the neck of cart-oxen. The real meaning of this verse is, come to me and be comforted so that you will not be burdened with your worldly burdens. For that you accept my yoke. "My yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:30).

Right meaning is, come to me, do not be tormented with your worldly cares, sorrows and sufferings; Accept me. Accepting me is a simple matter. Then your soul will find rest from torment.

Beloved, to come to Christ is to accept Him and accept the yoke of His commandments. They are not difficult. This is what the apostle John says. "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." (1 John 5:3)

We should come to the Lord Jesus Christ instead of worrying about our sorrows. We must commit ourselves to obeying His will, trusting that He will bear the burden of all our problems.

Let us draw near to Christ with eagerness to receive His rest. He is not far from any of us.

என் சுமை இலகுவாய் இருக்கிறது

 ஆதவன் 🖋️ 537 ⛪ ஜுலை 18, 2022 திங்கள்கிழமை

"வருத்தப்பட்டுப் பாரஞ்சுமக்கிறவர்களே! நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிடத்தில் வாருங்கள்; நான் உங்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன். நான் சாந்தமும் மனத்தாழ்மையுமாய் இருக்கிறேன்; என் நுகத்தை உங்கள்மேல் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, என்னிடத்தில் கற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது உங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் கிடைக்கும்." ( மத்தேயு 11 :28,29 )

வேதாகமம் எழுதப்பட்டபோது அதிகார எண்களோடும் வசன எண்களோடும்  எழுதப்படவில்லை. கி.பி. 1200 க்குப் பின்னரே எண்கள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன. குறிப்பிட்ட  வசனத்தை எளிதில் கண்டுபிடிக்க இந்த எண்கள் உதவியாக இருக்கின்றன. ஆனால் அதேநேரம் எண்கள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது பல வசனங்களை  நாம் சரியாகப் புரிந்துகொள்ளத் தடையாகவும் இருக்கின்றன. 

இன்றைய வசனமும் அப்படித்தான். பொதுவாகப் பலரும் மத்தேயு 11:28 ஐ மட்டுமே கூறுவதுண்டு. சுவர்களில் எழுதப்படும் வசனங்களிலும் இதனை மட்டுமே எழுதுவதுண்டு.   "வருத்தப்பட்டுப் பாரஞ்சுமக்கிறவர்களே! நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிடத்தில் வாருங்கள்; நான் உங்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன்". என்பதோடு இயேசு முடிக்கவில்லை. தொடர்ந்து கூறுகின்றார்,  "என் நுகத்தை உங்கள்மேல் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, என்னிடத்தில் கற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது உங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் கிடைக்கும்." (மத்தேயு 11:29)

நுகம் என்பது வண்டி மாடுகளுக்கு கழுத்தில் சுமத்தப்படும் குறுக்குத் தடியைக் குறிக்கும். இந்த வசனத்தின் சரியான பொருள், நீங்கள் உங்கள் உலகப்  பாரங்களைச் சுமந்து வேதனைப்படவேண்டாம் என்னிடம் வந்து  ஆறுதல் பெறுங்கள். அதற்கு நீங்கள் எனது நுகத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள். "என் நுகம் மெதுவாயும் என் சுமை இலகுவாயும்  இருக்கிறது " (மத்தேயு 11:30)

சரியான பொருள், நீங்கள் உங்கள் உலக கவலைகளையும் துக்கங்களையும் பாடுகளையும் சுமந்து வேதனை அடையவேண்டாம், என்னிடம் வாருங்கள்; என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள். என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வது லெகுவான காரியம். அப்போது உங்கள் ஆத்துமாவுக்கு வேதனையிலிருந்து இளைப்பாறுதல் கிடைக்கும்.

அன்பானவர்களே, கிறிஸ்துவிடம் வருவது என்பது அவரை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு அவரது கட்டளைகள் எனும் நுகத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வது. அவை கடினமானவைகளுமல்ல. இதனையே அப்போஸ்தலரான யோவானும் கூறுகின்றார். "நாம் தேவனுடைய கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்வதே அவரிடத்தில் அன்புகூருவதாம்; அவருடைய கற்பனைகள் பாரமானவைகளுமல்ல." ( 1 யோவான்  5 : 3 )

நாம் நமது துக்கங்களை எண்ணி எண்ணி கவலைப்பட்டு மனபாரத்தோடு இருப்பதைவிட, கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடம் வரவேண்டும். நமது அனைத்துப் பிரச்சனைகளின் பாரத்தையும் அவர் சுமந்துகொள்வார் எனும் நம்பிக்கையுடன் அவரது கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ள உறுதிகொள்ளவேண்டும். 

கிறிஸ்துவின் இளைப்பாறுதலை பெற்றுக்கொள்ள ஆர்வத்துடன் அவரிடம் நெருங்கி வருவோம். அவர் நம்மில் எவருக்கும் தூரமானவர் அல்ல.

What is idolatry ?

"Ye know that neither the adulterer, nor the unclean, nor the covetous, nor the idolater, shall inherit the kingdom of Christ, which is the kingdom of God." (Ephesians 5:5)

Fornication and idolatry are the two greatest sins against God. One who realizes the glory of the Almighty and His immense power does not make an idol and worship it. It is not unreasonable to think that the God who created and controlled these universes would be in a statue made by human hands.

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;" (Exodus 20:4) God told the people of Israel in the ten commandments given by Moses.

But today's verse goes one step further and advises us that "the worshiper of idols is materialistic." The truth is that idolatry is not just worshiping idols made of clay, wood or other metals, but materialistic idolatry.

Many Christians and Christian workers who claim to worship idols today are falling into idolatry called materialism. Not only that, but many Christian ministers treat the people straight to idolatry.

Accumulating wealth, praying to buy cars and houses, encouraging people to give more by hoping that God will return the gift many times over, all these are idolatry. But many who claim to be spiritual Christians are such idolaters today.

Today's verse makes it very clear, "You know that even the unclean, the idolater and the covetous man will not inherit the kingdom of God, the kingdom of Christ." That is, even if we do not do direct idolatry, if we have the idolatrous character of uncleanness and materialism that the scriptures say, we do not share in the kingdom of Christ.

We need material and money to live in this world. But materialism refers to the wicked desire to accumulate more and more money and possessions without being satisfied with having enough. So let's put away the idolatry that the scriptures say is part of Christ's kingdom.

எது விக்கிரக ஆராதனை?

 ஆதவன் 🖋️ 536 ⛪ ஜுலை 17, 2022 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை

"விபசாரக்காரனாவது, அசுத்தனாவது, விக்கிரகாராதனைக் காரனாகிய பொருளாசைக்காரனாவது தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யமாகிய கிறிஸ்துவின் ராஜ்யத்திலே சுதந்தரமடைவதில்லையென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்களே." ( எபேசியர் 5 : 5 )

தேவன் அருவருக்கும் இரண்டு பெரிய பாவங்கள், விபச்சாரமும் விக்கிரக ஆராதனையும்தான். சர்வ வல்லவரின் மகிமையையும் அவரது அளப்பரிய ஆற்றலையம் உணர்ந்தவன் சிலையைச் செய்து அதனை வணங்கமாட்டான். இந்த அண்டசராசரங்களைப் படைத்து அடக்கி ஆளும் தேவன் மனிதனின் கையால் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட சிலையினுள் இருப்பார் என எண்ணுவது அறிவுடைமையல்ல. 

"மேலே வானத்திலும், கீழே பூமியிலும், பூமியின் கீழ்த் தண்ணீரிலும் உண்டாயிருக்கிறவைகளுக்கு ஒப்பான ஒரு சொரூபத்தையாகிலும் யாதொரு விக்கிரகத்தையாகிலும் நீ உனக்கு உண்டாக்கவேண்டாம்;" ( யாத்திராகமம் 20 : 4 ) என இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு தேவன் மோசே மூலம்  அளித்த  பத்துக் கற்பனைகளில் கூறியுள்ளார். 

ஆனால் இன்றைய வசனம் இதற்கு மேலே ஒருபடி போய், "விக்கிரகாராதனைக்காரனாகிய பொருளாசைக்காரனாவது" என்று நம்மை அறிவுறுத்தும் உண்மை என்னவென்றால், விக்கிரக ஆராதனை எனும் சிலை வழிபாடு என்பது மண்ணினாலோ, மரத்தினாலோ அல்லது வேறு உலோகங்களினாலோ செய்யும் சிலைகளை வணங்குவது மட்டுமல்ல, பொருளாசையும் சிலை வழிபாடுதான் என்பதே. 

இன்று சிலைகளை அருவருகின்றோம் என்று கூறிக்கொள்ளும் பல கிறிஸ்தவர்களும் கிறிஸ்தவ ஊழியர்களும்  பொருளாசை எனும் சிலைவழிபாட்டுக்குள் விழுந்து கிடக்கின்றனர். மட்டுமல்ல பல கிறிஸ்தவ ஊழியர்கள்  மக்களை நடத்துவதும் சிலைவழிபாட்டுக்கு நேராகவேதான். 

சொத்து சேர்ப்பது, வாகனங்கள் மற்றும் வீடு வாங்க ஜெபிப்பது, காணிக்கை கொடுத்தால் தேவன் அதனைப் பல மடங்காகத் திருப்பித் தருவார் என மக்களை ஆசைகாட்டி அதிக காணிக்கைக் கொடுக்கத் தூண்டுவது, இவை அனைத்தும் சிலை வழிபாடுகளே. ஆனால்  தங்களை ஆவிக்குரிய கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் என்று கூறிக்கொள்ளும் பலரும் இன்று இத்தகைய விக்கிரக ஆராதனைக்காரர்களாகவே இருக்கின்றனர். 

இன்றைய வசனம் மிகத் தெளிவாகக் கூறுகின்றது, "அசுத்தனாவது, விக்கிரகாராதனைக்காரனாகிய பொருளாசைக்காரனாவது தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யமாகிய கிறிஸ்துவின் ராஜ்யத்திலே சுதந்தரமடைவதில்லையென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்களே" என்று.  அதாவது, நேரடியான சிலை வழிபாடு செய்யவில்லை என்றாலும் வேதம் கூறும் அசுத்தக் குணமும் பொருளாசை எனும் சிலைவழிபாட்டுக் குணமும் நமக்கு இருக்குமானால் நாம் கிறிஸ்துவின் ராஜ்யத்தில் பங்கடைவதில்லை. 

இந்த உலகத்தில் நாம் வாழ்வதற்கு பொருள், பணம் தேவை. ஆனால் பொருளாசை என்பது உள்ளது போதும் என நிறைவடையாமல் துன்மார்க்கமாய் மேலும் மேலும் பணம், சொத்து சேர்க்கும் ஆசையைக் குறிக்கின்றது. எனவே கிறிஸ்துவின் ராஜ்யத்தில் பங்கடைய வேதம் கூறும் சிலைவழிபாடுகளை நம்மைவிட்டு அகற்றுவோம்.

அவரோடேகூட மரிக்கும்படி நாமும் போவோம்

 ஆதவன் 🖋️ 535 ⛪ ஜுலை 16, 2022 சனிக்கிழமை

"அப்பொழுது திதிமு என்னப்பட்ட தோமா மற்றச் சீஷர்களை நோக்கி: அவரோடேகூட மரிக்கும்படி நாமும் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றான்."( யோவான் 11 : 16 )

இந்தியாவின் அப்போஸ்தலர் தோமாவைக்குறித்து நாம் அதிகம் எண்ணுவதில்லை. தோமாவின் வாழ்வின் செயல்பாடுகள், அவர் கிறிஸ்துவுக்காகக் காட்டிய வைராக்கியம் இவை நாம் கற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டிய பாடங்களாகும்.

இரண்டாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்குமுன் இப்போதுள்ளதுபோன்ற பிரயாண வசதிகள் கிடையாது. தவிர, நீண்ட கடல் பயணங்கள் ஆபத்தானவை. ஆனால் கிறிஸ்துவின்மேலுள்ள அன்பினால், தனது சொந்த மக்கள், குடும்பம், உணவுப் பழக்கம், காலசூழ்நிலை இவை அனைத்தையும்விட்டு,  மீண்டும் அங்கு சென்று தான் விட்டுவந்த எல்லோரையும் பார்க்க முடியுமா என்ற நிச்சயமில்லாமல் கிறிஸ்துவை அறிவிக்க இந்தியாவுக்கு வந்தார் அவர். 

கிறிஸ்துவோடு இருக்கும்போதே கிறிஸ்துவுக்காக அவரோடு உயிரை விடத் தயாராக இருந்தார் அவர். யூதேயாவுக்குச் செல்ல இயேசு புறப்பட்டபோது, அவரோடு அங்கு சென்றால் யூதர்கள் கல்லெறிந்து இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைக் கொன்றால், நாமும் சாகநேரிடும் என மற்ற சீடர்கள் அஞ்சியபோது, "அவரோடேகூட மரிக்கும்படி நாமும் போவோம் வாருங்கள்" என சக அப்போஸ்தலரையும் அவர் அழைக்கின்றார். 

கிறிஸ்துவோடு கிறிஸ்துவாக நமது பழைய மனிதன் சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்டு மரிப்பதுதான் கிறிஸ்தவ வாழ்வு. இதனை தீர்க்கதரிசனமாக தோமா கூறுவதாகவும் நாம் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளலாம். அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் இதனை, "நாம் இனிப் பாவத்துக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்யாதபடிக்கு, பாவசரீரம் ஒழிந்துபோகும்பொருட்டாக, நம்முடைய பழைய மனுஷன் அவரோடேகூடச் சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்டதென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்." ( ரோமர் 6 : 6 ) என்று கூறுகின்றார்.

இன்று உடலளவில் நாம் ஒருவேளை கிறிஸ்துவுக்காக மரிக்காமல் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால் அப்போஸ்தலரான பவுல் கூறுவதுபோல பாவத்துக்கு நாம் மரிக்க முடியும். நமது பாவ சரீரம் கிறிஸ்துவோடுகூட சிலுவையில் அறையப்படவேண்டும்.

அப்போஸ்தலரான தோமா மற்ற சீடர்களை அழைத்ததுபோல "அவரோடேகூட மரிக்கும்படி நாமும் போவோம் வாருங்கள்" என நாம் நமது சமூகத்தில் உள்ள மற்றவர்களை அழைக்கக் கடமைப்பட்டுள்ளோம். 

மேலும், அப்படித் துணிந்து தோமா நடந்தபோதுதான் மிகப்பெரிய அற்புதத்தைக் காண முடிந்தது. ஆம், மரித்து நான்கு நாட்களான லாசருவை கிறிஸ்து உயிரோடு எழுப்பினார்.   அன்பானவர்களே, நாமும் நமது பாவ சரீரங்களை கிறிஸ்துவோடுகூட சிலுவையில் அறைய ஒப்புக்கொடுப்போம்.  அப்போது நமது வாழ்விலும் கிறிஸ்து செய்யும் அதிசயங்களைக் கண்டு மகிழ முடியும்.

ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வின் வேலியைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்.

 ஆதவன் 🖋️ 534 ⛪ ஜுலை 15, 2022 வெள்ளிக்கிழமை

"..........அக்காலத்திலே எருசலேமிலுள்ள சபைக்கு மிகுந்த துன்பம் உண்டாயிற்று. அப்போஸ்தலர்தவிர, மற்ற யாவரும் யூதேயா சமாரியா தேசங்களில் சிதறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்." ( அப்போஸ்தலருடைய நடபடிகள் 8 : 1 )

ஸ்தேவான் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டபின்னர் ஏற்பட்டக் கலவரத்தால் எருசலேம் சபைக்கு மிகுந்த துன்பம் உண்டாயிற்று. மக்கள் யூதர்களுக்கு அஞ்சிச் சிதறி யூதேயா மற்றும் சமாரியா தேசங்களுக்குச் சிதறிஓடினார்கள்.

ஆனால் எந்த ஒரு தீமையான செயலையும் தேவன் நன்மையாக மாற்றக்கூடியவர் என்பதற்கேற்ப நடந்தது. யூதர்கள் சமாரியர்களைத் தீண்டத்தகாதவர்கள் என்று கருதி அவர்களோடு உணவுகூட உண்பதில்லை. ஆனால் இப்போது அவர்கள் சமாரியாவில் தஞ்சம் ஏற்படும் நிலைமை ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டது. இப்படிச் சமாரியாவுக்குப்போன கிறிஸ்துவை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட யூதர்கள் அங்கு கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கித்தார்கள்.

"சிதறிப்போனவர்கள் எங்குந்திரிந்து, சுவிசேஷவசனத்தைப் பிரசங்கித்தார்கள்." ( அப்போஸ்தலருடைய நடபடிகள் 8 : 4 )ஆம் சிதறப்பட்டு ஓடியதால் சமாரியர்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷத்தை அறியும் வாய்ப்பு உண்டானது.

நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்விலும் பிசாசு பல்வேறு துன்பங்களையும் பிரச்சனைகளையும் எழுப்பி நம்மைச் சிதறடிப்பான். ஆம் , பிசாசுதான்  சிதறடிக்கின்றவன்.  நாம் நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வின் அரணை (வேலியைக்) நமது ஜெப ஜீவியத்தால்  காத்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்.    "சிதறடிக்கிறவன் உன் முகத்துக்கு முன்பாக வருகிறான்; அரணைக் காத்துக்கொள், வழியைக் காவல் பண்ணு, அரையைக் கெட்டியாய்க் கட்டிக்கொள், உன் பெலனை மிகவும் ஸ்திரப்படுத்து." ( நாகூம் 2 : 1 )  என்று நாகூம் தீர்க்கதரிசி கூறுகின்றார். 

இப்படி நாம் நமது ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வின் வேலியை உறுதியாகக் காத்துக்கொண்டால் சாத்தானின் சிதறடிக்கும் முயற்சி  வெற்றிபெறாது. மட்டுமல்ல, அன்று சிதறடிக்கப்பட்ட மக்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷத்தை அறிவித்ததுபோல நம்மூலம் கிறிஸ்து அறிவிக்கப்பட்டு மகிமைப்படுவார்.

ஆம், ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் சிதறடிக்கப்படும் அனுபவம் இன்றியமையானது. பக்தனான யோபு சிதறடிக்கப்பட்டபின் பொன்னாகத் திகழ்ந்தார்.  எனவே, நாகூம் கூறுவதுபோல நமது அரணைக் காத்துக்கொண்டு  வழியைக் காவல் பண்ணி  அரையைக் கெட்டியாய்க் கட்டிக்கொண்டு நமது பெலனை மிகவும் ஸ்திரப்படுத்துவோம். அதற்கு ஜெபத்தில் உறுதியாய்த் தரித்திருப்போம்.
